"The 9/11 memorial at Boston Logan International Airport is a quiet oasis of calmness and reflection, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. It honors the passengers and crew who were aboard American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, the two planes that were hijacked after departing the airport and flown into the Twin Towers. It officially opened in 2009. The memorial takes the shape of a 20-by-20 foot glass cube. Inside, there are two glass rectangles etched with the victims’ names and the departure time of their flights. Additional pieces of glasses are strung from the ceiling, which shimmer in the sun. It’s located atop a small hill and is surrounded by a cluster of trees. Two curved walkways loop toward the cube, which are said to reflect the paths taken by the two hijacked planes. Though a bit difficult to find, the small, poignant memorial is worth visiting. Given it’s out-of-the-way location, it’s likely you’ll be the only one there." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Every time I landed at Logan Airport, my routine was simple: head straight to the Uber/Lyft pickup area at Terminal A/E and go home. I had never realized that a 9/11 Memorial was located nearby, near the Hilton Hotel. Today, for the first time, I followed the signs and discovered this meaningful site. The memorial is just a short walk away, along a gently curving pathway. It consists of two distinct sections, about 50 meters apart. The first section is an open circular space with the inscription "Remember this day," inviting visitors to pause and reflect. Nearby, a glass enclosure contains two walls with information about the two flights involved in the tragic events, including their departure times and details. The atmosphere here is solemn yet peaceful. Despite its location near a busy airport, the memorial provides a quiet space for contemplation. It serves as a poignant reminder of the lives lost and the significance of that fateful day. While not a large memorial, its simplicity and design make it a powerful tribute. If you ever find yourself at Logan Airport with a few spare minutes, I highly recommend taking the short detour to visit. It is a place of remembrance and reflection, reminding us of history and the importance of never forgetting.

I recently visited the 9/11 Memorial at Boston Logan Airport during a quick detour from the ride-share drop-off for Terminal A. A small rock path out of the parking structure leads you to the main trail circle. The memorial is a serene and poignant space, perfect for reflection and remembrance. The landscaping is beautifully maintained, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. I took a moment to sit and hold reverence before my flight, appreciating the quiet and the significance of the site. It's a thoughtful and respectful tribute, and I highly recommend taking the time to visit if you're at the airport.

Missed my bus and had two hours to kill. This was a great quiet place to sit. You can walk the little loop here which is also nice. Very somber spot highly recommend a visit if you are stuck at the airport.

As travelers arrive and depart nearby, a peaceful path in the shadow of Logan Airport leads to this spiritual sojourn. An easy stroll from the Hilton transports you to another time and another place, to experience a pensive moment of reflection. This tucked away, yet accessible reminder constructed of reminiscent glass, steel and concrete serves to honor the memory of the many souls lost, while offering solace to those forever affected by the horrific events of September 11, 2001.

Beautiful made. A place to sit and remember. It is worth the trip if you have time. A little hard to find.

The 9/11 Memorial in New York Ground Zero & 9/11 Museum is one of the most beautiful sites that I have ever seen in my life as a former veteran of the United States Army Reserves based in Texas and also a family member, friend & American. The site is open 24/7 hours everyday year round and I am so very thankful that the City of New York has been able to keep with the grounds maintenance and ability to let the public be informed about how very important this moment in history was. This year on Sunday, September 11, 2022, marks 21 years since the 9/11 Attacks on the World Trade Center in New York, Maryland & outside of Pennsylvania. Continually praying for the families that have been affected and that grace and mercy will prevail. LaQueen Battle, US Army Reserves, Texas Battle First Aid Responder Services, Inc

Quiet and and peaceful. It offers a bit or serenity compared to the chaos that is Logan Airport.
