One of my favorite places to get Hot pot is 9292 Shabu! I love that its buffet style, you bring whatever you want to eat to the table to add to your hot pot. They have a few options for the broth. I like Mala the most, but it can get a little salty towards the end of your meal. They also have beef, dashi, and veggie broths too. There is also a meat option add on to the buffet for a surcharge. You can get brisket, chicken, beef Aorta, beef, pork, and shrimp AYCE!
On top of that they also have side dishes, orange and coffee slushies to enjoy.
Oddly enough I also come here when I want to eat Japchae. I don't know what it is, but the seasoning on the noodles have me eating at-least 2 plates. I know this is a hot pot joint, but they make really good food. They also serve Fried rice, Spaghetti, Kimari, Kimchi Pancakes, Naegmyun, tteobuki, sticky rice, kimichi fried rice, mash potatoes, corn cheese, and more. I like that its not just Hot Pot, its super kid friendly or picky eater friendly.
I highly recommend getting the buffet plus the meat your first time, to get the full experience! Definitely top off your hot pot with broth! If the servers don't come to your table often, which is usually the case because they get busy. There is a call button on the table for you, this will come in handy when you want more meat! I also highly recommend making your own sauce at the sauce bar, you can add it into your broth to enhance the flavor or to dip your meats into it!
Sorry for the slight lack of food in the buffet videos, they actually refill the buffet very frequently. I just came right after Japan Fest & the restaurant was fairly busy so the food got ate haha. But seriously you really get your monies worth coming here!
Its definitely group friendly, because THE BEST PART is the Hot pot is actually Individual hot pot. So no worrying about people putting food you don't like in the pot. Pro tip, if its your first time ask for Tongs. It might be kinda of hard to get the food out of the pot your first time around.
I appreciate their clean restaurant & clean bathrooms. This trip, the stalls didn't have a smell. The restaurant itself is hygienic too, during covid times it was mandatory if you wanted to grab food from the buffet to wear gloves. They're a little more lax about it now, but they do still provide gloves for you to use.
Overall this is a great social place to get hot pot with your friends! My favorite time to get it is on a cold rainy day, it really fills you up with warm comfort Korean food!
