UPDATE:
The owner was nice enough to write me and he wasn't an azz. the staff situation is getting resolved hopefully and there's a hand sink behind the bar; i apologize for assuming. This place is great and hopefully they last a long time. keep the food and drinks the same please.
First and foremost in my John Taffer voice:
WHY NOT HIRE EXTRA HANDS IN THE KITCHEN TO HELP BRING FOOD OUT FASTER??!!! WHY NOT HIRE A WAITRESS OR TWO TO RUN FOOD AND DRINKS ON THE FLOOR???!!! WHY NOT HIRE A BARBACK TO HELP THE GIRLS WITH CLEAN GLASSWARE SO THEY CAN FOCUS ON MAKING DRINKS???!!!!
Cons: just to get it out of the way; they open @5 i got there around 7ish, the bar was full and some tables taken. i was directed to an owner who told me i had to wait for someone to get up so that i could get a table because, most of them were reserved. This is confusing because, there's no hostess so how does a person reserve a table; using what reservation system?
I got a seat @ the bar from a nice gentleman. My first time being there mind u, the bartenders looked @ me like i was a boujee ass white woman from the upper, def. made me feel awkward and out of place (but i can't help my look so sorry Not sorry). If it wasn't for Jennifer i probably wouldn't get a drink and ended up leaving. She was busy as hell being a bartender and a runner for food and drinks( she better be head bartender) But she was nice and knew what she was doing. Kitchen is slow, took almost an hour to get my food but, i imagine there's probably one or two ppl back there. There's only one official runner who brings out the food one by one+ the bartenders who do what they can. I literally watched (maybe) one of the owners i dunno) wash his hands in the same soapy water for the glassware, ewww you just came from outside. The other bartenders need to be more attentive, a guy literally spent 5 min trying to get their attention; they just look past you and go help who they want without saying anything even though you're waving @ them, smh.
Pros: The food is good, the drinks are good, (the rum punch is serious) happy hour till 9; a bonus. The DJ was hitting. It's a good space, with ppl who want to drink and have fun, it def. provides that. It's a mix crowd young and more mature. I've never seen females go so hard during happy like i saw last night before, i thought the drinks were watered down but they aren't. Friday is seafood night $30 for a lobster tail, crab cluster, and sides, initially that's what i went for but i changed my mind and got the grilled salmon with mac n cheese and collards. The food and the drinks were going like hotcakes, and that's great! The owners need to put some of that money to use and hire extra staff.
All in all my friend liked it, and so do i. I will probably go back just for Jennifer, the food, drinks, and music.
