This is one of the newer 99 Ranch in the area. Its conveniently located inside of Oakridge Mall. Market 5/5 There is no asian market or fishy smell. The fruit, vegetable, and meats are all fresh. Everything is organize and clean. There's a bakery, milk tea, Chinese BBQ, Dim Sum and plate food counter. Price is bit higher compare to other Asian markets but it make worth in cleanliness, quality, and variety of items. Food Counter 3.5/5 If you shop at the market you can get dollar of coupons for their food court. Ordered 2 item plate with the noodles, short ribs and stuffed squid. Noodle was a little hard and bland. The ribs had good flavor but a bit tough. The squid was borderline inedible due to the fishy so didn't even eat that. Also Chinese burrito which is essential a rice roll with pork filling. There was a bit too much rice compare to the ratio of pork. Carb overload in one package.

One of the most cleanest 99 I’ve ever been! In a shopping mall, neat and organized!

George Chang

Google
Cleanest ranch 99 ever We are here for run bing (潤餅) It’s decent, and worth every penny.

Google
A lot of the stuff is processed, packaged snacks and treats. I’ve not really shopped a lot there. Lots of produce and plenty of stuff I’d never eat being vegan but good for everyone else. Certainly a nice bonus to have this market at the mall location.

Google
The hot food togo box area, they reduce the size of the boxes without telling people. I like their hot food so even if they increase the price, I still continue buying from them. However, reducing the size without notice (the price is the same). When I ask them , and they just keep silent. This is really not honest to their customers.

Google
I usually love Ranch 99, but this one could have more fresh produce, and everything is wrapped in plastic. But they have a lot of great condiments and snacks. The meat seems nice, but it's mostly pork.

Google
Regarding their hot foods inside the mall. They have large servings before, nowadays, it's just comparable to panda express. Barely to fill up anyone. The only reason I come here was because of their large portions, since the taste is not that good. But now, there's no reason to come back. Aside from the small portions and no taste, the people behind the counter act like they own the place. They won't even give extra paper plates or plastic utensils. Completely nonsense. No wonder barely anyone is coming back here anymore.

This review is specifically about the food bar located at 99 Ranch—not the grocery store itself. The food bar is accessible from inside the mall and shares the same branding as the market. Please keep in mind, this reflects my personal experience; yours may differ. That said, I believe it’s important to keep expectations low going in. This is not a restaurant, and certainly not a high-quality one. With that in mind, I wasn’t expecting much—but even those low expectations weren’t met. The setup is similar to Panda Express, with food prepared in the back and brought forward. However, the customer traffic is much lower. I ordered Chicken Katsu (breaded chicken), rice, and chow mein. Unfortunately, everything was cold. The rice was old and hard, the chicken had a tough texture and tasted like it had been fried in old or reused oil. The chow mein was similarly cold and unappealing. All in all, I won’t be making that mistake again. I was hungry and desperate, but next time I’ll walk a bit farther to the food court. Lesson learned.

Yelp
This our go to for Chinese cuisine on regular days . Being Located inside the oakridge shopping mall makes it very convenient when you are very tired after shopping and very hungry but want to keep to food expense low and also want the food quick and not willing to wait . They have nice seating area with lots of chairs and tables . The portion size is toooo good . If you are light eater, you will probably not be able to finish one box with 2 items by yourself . Cause they give you so much inside the boxes that they themselves struggle to close the boxes . I always order half and half noodles and rice . Orange chicken, is my favorite but I like their pork and teriyaki chicken as well. They have Taiwanese burritos, pancakes, bao, rice cakes as well . Another nice option is getting 3 skewers ( they have pork and chicken ) and making it a meal by adding $3 more which will give you a small box of rice/ noodles and 1 entree item along with the skewers I am really fond of this place and would recommend to try this.

Yelp
This 99 Ranch is a little smaller than the other standalone stores but still has a decent selection. This review is for the run bing (Taiwanese burrito) in the prepared foods section. I've been hearing about it for 2-3 years so maybe the ingredients have been reduced after all this time - there's another photo on Yelp showing what used to go in each burrito, but it no longer has stuff like pickled mustard or bean curd. There were bean sprouts, green cabbage, eggs, carrots, and garnishes like green onion, peanut powder, sesame sauce (tahini), seaweed powder, sesame seeds, and hoisin fish sauce. The sesame sauce overpowers everything so don't get it if you don't want a slightly soggy interior, but it was pretty tasty. The thin flour wrap seems sweeter than a normal thick flour tortilla. The burrito was between 6-8 inches if I recall...decent for something that cost $6.99 ($7.65 after tax). I sliced it on my own for the picture (so kind of messy) and even after a day in the fridge it was still excellent, both cold and reheated in the microwave.

Yelp
First impression: The store was clean and well-organized, but the prices are higher compared to other grocery stores. For example, the Napa cabbage at 99 Ranch was $1.29 per lb, while at Hankook Supermarket they had it for $0.69 per lb. I originally went in for "golden fish balls with fish roe," but they weren't available here (though they were the Wolfe Rd./Cupertino location). I saw that the beef short plate rolls were on sale so I decided to give them a try (originally $16.99 per lb but on sale for $10.99 per lb) However, my experience with the security guard was uncomfortable. He seemed to follow me throughout my visit: walking towards me when I entered, encountering me in an aisle, walking behind me in the meat section, and even being in front of me at checkout. I saw him four times within 5 minutes in a single visit--which felt excessive and abnormal. I understand security is important, but I only had my car keys and phone on me. I felt unfairly profiled. The only thing that stood out was my athletic wear and messy hair (just finished exercising at the gym), which is why I wore a hat. Will I be returning to this location? No.

Yelp
This was a solid 99 Ranch Market in San Jose. It's situated nicely in the mall, but it feels like a pretty fancy market. The produce is really fresh and well organized. The lines at the checkout are pretty efficient and fast. I really love the take out side of the market. It's nice to be able to bring some already made food home with your groceries.

Yelp
Okay, time for an update. I shop at 99 Ranch more frequently than I thought I would. Parking is still great on the backside of Oakridge, although as I type that, I wonder how it will be during the holidays... I still wish their deli counter offered won ton, and the whole duck is now OVER $30, but for those Asian groceries and cuts of meat, it's a great neighborhood staple for me now.

Yelp
I really liked this store for picking up Asian food items and vegetables. It's kind of weird that it's in the mall but it's OK and they usually have what I need. I usually enjoy the hot food area but this last time I went to visit I was very disappointed. I don't know if I'll be going back anytime soon. Baked Cha Siu Bao was very tough and doughy, with very little filling. The item itself is large but deceptively so. And then the fried rice pork dumpling., Ham sui gak, was so salty, it was inedible. I think someone really made a mistake because this was not anything like it should taste. Perhaps they need to review their quality control or maybe they are serving a different demographic in Almaden Valley. Cupertino isn't too far away, so I'll probably go up there next time I need stuff.

Yelp
Well there's always a first time and this was my first time visiting a Ranch 99 market. I recently decided I wanted to learn how to make pho so after consulting with a friend of mine and watching some videos she sent to me, I set out on my quest. This location was easy to get to and parking was just as easy. Upon going inside, I noticed the aisles were organized well and I was able to navigate the various sections to where I wanted to go via the end overhead signs. People are friendly here, both shoppers and employees as well. I looked for the appropriate rice noodles that were like the ones I saw online and was unable so I asked an employee and was led to a section and shown rice noodles that fit the task at hand. I quickly showed her the video that discussed the ingredients and was assured that they carried everything that was needed. The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable and helpful and definitely will come back so that I can perfect my homemade pho.

Yelp
I don't think I want to order anything from the court food. The food sits out for some time . Bought 3 items and the bbq pork was overly sweet and the shui mai was mushy . Service was good and ambience was good except the food was not so great
google avatar

Sinny S.

Yelp
Plenty of parking and easy to find. I love how they have the roast meat dept on the outside; makes it a lot more convenient for mall goers to purchase their food there instead of walking inside the grocery store. This one appeared smaller, but it carried plenty of items. Love it.

Yelp
My wife bought some bowls here that she decided to return. Apparently she got $8 worth of coupons which she has no idea where they went. Anyhow they deducted $8 from her treating the coupons as actual cash. Mind you, these coupons EXPIRE after a few days and I'm pretty sure it's illegal. I'm reporting them to the California Department of Consumer affairs but wanted to let people know.

Yelp
I have noticed the past year that the quality of fresh vegetables & fruit has markedly deteriorated. Here is an example of the abysmal quality of Ranch 99: I purchased a package of reported "Fresh Baby Ginger" for a crazy price. When home I opened the package and the ginger was wet & slimy! Cutting into it it wasn't fresh nor was it baby ginger! It was old, fibrous, and a disturbing color(see photos). Additionally, what causes me considerable issues is that they are supplanting Taiwanese products with products made in China( I do not trust anything from China).

Yelp
Checked out the take out food store on the side of Ranch 99. It was a Saturday and very busy, so the line was a little long. I wanted the 3pc meal and some of the Dim Sum items. The lady taking orders said what did I want to order, and I said the 3pc meal and she quickly ushered me to the left for my choices. By the time I made my choices, I was quickly ushered to the register. She never asked if I wanted Dim Sum and the line was getting long for me to get back in. It was all a very confusing experience. I was ready spend some money on food, but oh well. The food was subpar Chinese food. Nothing great and it's pretty inexpensive. My 3pc meal was only $11.99. They do give you a lot as well. I may try again if I am craving Chinese food in Oakridge Mall.

Yelp
Great place to grab a quick Taiwanese rice burritos (Fan Twon) and sweet soy milk. What better way to start your morning. There are other places to get this but nothing beats these prices where if you get her by 9:30 they are all made fresh. If you are in the mood for some other dim sum items they are all very reasonable

Yelp
99 ranch market is really a new breed of asian market in the bay area at which it is pleasantly clean, organized, and wonderful to get grocery! Compared to other older chinese market i have been to, this is really the best one i have gone to! Amazingly with all the new improvement, it still retain all the other important attractions of why people go to a Chinese market such as fresh seafood and traditional chinese BBQ! The only thing that is very minor is the alley is a little bit more narrow and you can't really have 2 carts go from both directions. Service wise it is good and welcome.
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
Took a quick stroll through the market, just needed to grab some veggies. Lots of Asian groceries, lots of parking available. Not the cleanest but has a lot of the items I usually need to get!
google avatar

Yelp
Great portions and nice workers. The food is pretty alright too. I'd come back for their variety.

Yelp
Not sure when Ranch 99 changed to look similar to grocery stores like HMart, but after visiting the one in Fremont I decided to check this one and I think I'll be going to Ranch 99 again more than Hmart now !
google avatar

Amy G.

Yelp
This 99 Ranch is located inside Westfield Oakridge Mall, which makes it convenient for people to get groceries on their way back home. I like that this location is very new and despite its smaller size, it has pretty much everything you'd find in any other 99 Ranch. I was expecting the prices to be steeper than other locations given that this is located inside a mall, but the prices weren't too bad. Service is efficient if you converse with the staff in Chinese, otherwise they might have some difficulty understanding English. This review is solely for the grocery store and not the food court or bakery section. Overall, good experience. I would come back again.
google avatar

Stacie V.

Yelp
This store is so clean. You don't have that fishy stench that majority of 99 Ranches have. Service is lacking. There was a promotional $30 for a whole Peking duck with 8 baos. The staff refused to microwave the baos... besides helpful staff, I'd still come here for all my Asian ingredients because it's so well organized. Some of the fresh herbs were spoiled. I wish they were more well maintained.

Yc L.

Yelp
It's a good place to get authentic Asian seasoning. The only thing I don't like is the vegetables here are not as fresh as H-Mart.

Yelp
It's awesome to have 99 Ranch Market at Oakridge Mall in South San Jose. I came here to shop for quick family dinner. Service was pretty good and food prices were reasonable. I could literally shop until I drop. The aisles were all stocked up and few can't get through because boxes still on the floor. I like the hot deli being outside of the grocery store and being a part of the food court. I think the food is much more fresh than the one in Cupertino. The deli coupons became more valuable to shop at 99 Ranch Market. I just wish they can be used at any 99 Ranch Market delis. Anyways, I will be back to Oakridge Mall.

Yelp
Expectations were met! The Run Bing was well worth it and gigantic (Figure 1). I couldn't choose between the different options for the fillings, so I'll have to come back to try the others. I went with the pork this time. Then I couldn't resist the Fan Tuan either and picked one up too (Figure 2)! Then there's the bbq meat section And the skewers (chuan'r or 羊肉串儿)! Warning: these are popular, and I was told the lamb skewers wouldn't run out. But when I came back after shopping inside in the late afternoon, there were no more lamb skewers left. Although I settled on the pork skewers, these turned out to be pretty good too - tender and tasty! Yet again, I'll have to return to try the lamb skewers. As a re-envisioned Ranch99 (yep, de facto spelling), there are lots of reasons to return. The experience pairs well with its surroundings - boba from One Zo or other boba places steps away! Food and boba just work well together! This works for me as a food destination and reinvention of such a dining concept. Waiting to see what it'll evolve into next!

Yelp
The service is not really nice. They rush you to pick what you want. They're very rude and they don't understand what you're saying so the communication is really bad. They seem to be short tempered as well. I ordered two shrimp balls and it was hard and dry. I also wanted dim sum but the lady didnt understand what I was saying. So I told her nevermind just the shrimp balls. I really wanted the dim sum and I couldn't get it and that just upset me. I ended up not having a good evening dinner. This place needs to improve on being patient and provide better service.
google avatar

Gordon I.

Yelp
This is for the food service restaurant in the back (inside the mall), not the grocery store (I would give the restaurant a lower score otherwise). In short, the food is horrible. The shrimp was dry, the dim sum not tasty, the eggplant dish and orange chicken barely edible. Even the noodles were below par (how can you screw up noodles?). And to top it off, both my wife and I asked for water glasses, separately, (we'd bought a can drink there), and the refused both times. Water cups, really? Avoid this place like the plague. PS: to be fair, the price is not bad- i think $25 plus tax for two entrees, dim sum, and a drink. They give you a lot of food. Also it's great to have an Asian restaurant in Oakridge... they just need to up their game with the restaurant.
google avatar

Peter X.

Yelp
The largest, fanciest Ranch 99 in the area, located inside the Westfield mall. Well stocked in all sorts of items you typically wouldn't find at other locations. However the layout is a bit odd; the entrance is outside the mall, but they have a food court in the mall that's separated from the rest of the store. Not to get that mixed up with another hot deli that is inside the store. You can use the store coupons at either delis but you have to leave your cart outside with the attendants and go around if you want to get to the food court. The "run bing" at the food court that everyone is raving about on here tastes pretty awful, and the pancakes are even sadder. The bakery items seem to lack quality control. For the bread there is a giant hole spanning half of each slice through the entire loaf. I'd imagine parking at the mall might suck on a busy weekend, but otherwise this place would be a good place for groceries.
google avatar

AmErica A.

Yelp
I grew up in South San Jose, so had this been around then it woulda came in CLUTCH! All that matters is that it is here now and I don't have to dodge all the trafffic of ESSJ for some asian delicacies. I'm surprised it's a part of Oakridge mall. You can access the market from both the parking lot and from inside the mall. This visit my kids and I just ordered from their cooked food station from inside the mall. We didn't venture inside. Doesn't look like the typical asian markets I am used to. Looked clean, well lit, well organized and well stocked. Food: 1. 1/2 peking duck: Delicious. So juicy and all around yummy. 2. Shumai: comes 4 to 1 order. Hit the spot! 3. Vietnamese Sticky Rice Cake: everything you expect it to be, savory, sticky with a hint of banana leave flavor. All you South Siders need not go far for your roast duck and/or roast pork fix!

Yelp
I come to 99 Ranch for my Asian grocery needs. This is amazing it is in the mall. The best part is that the workers will watch your cart while you go eat at their restaurant. Wow! They have a restaurant. Yes, they do!!! Btw the food is amazing there and also inside for some Asian treats. The inside is cleaner than the other 99 ranch markets I have been to. This is a great spot to buy groceries when you want to go shop around the mall
google avatar

Nuran S.

Yelp
Love having this place at the mall. It's so convenient and a pretty good sized store. They offer a really great range of seafood. I often get the sashimi and it's always been fresh and great quantities. I also like the grab and go options they have and the food court. However, keep in mind the food is really heavy and will have you feeling sluggish for the rest of the day. Sometimes we all need a meal like that though! They have pretty much every ramen noodle you can think of. They are always stoked up and organized!
google avatar

Ter L.

Yelp
Brand spanking new 99 Ranch Market with a really cool store layout/design allowing for bakery purchases & hot deli/foods having its own separate entrance directly from inside the mall. It's their very own togo food service they have going on. The market is bright, beautiful, spacious, and the shelves are fully stocked. Keep in mind, the variety of items may not be as vast as other Asian supermarkets but it gets the job done. I find it extremely hard to say no to their fresh baked goods and although the hot foot items were in the process of closing protocols, I'd definitely come back to see what they have to offer. Cashiers work at a prompt pace and we were able to get out quick. 4 stars. I appreciate the market being stench-free!!
google avatar

Josephine D.

Yelp
Yay for another Asian grocery store opening in San Jose! It was a lot smaller than expected, so it often felt crowded and cramped, especially by the checkout lines. The restrooms are in the back and clean. The food court area is small and kinda spread out. The store was very clean and organized. A lottttt have cool flavor snacks and chips that I haven't seen anywhere else. We got a bunch of Pringles that had flavors like seaweed, braised pork and spicy chili. They didn't have the original white rabbit candy, but they did have matcha, which I had to try. They also had a sample station with a lady frying up egg rolls, which were delish!
google avatar

Casey Q.

Yelp
The market is really nice and clean, but items that are regular priced are a bit on the pricier side. I would suggest looking at their weekly fliers because those have a lot of great sales. Their takeout food is solid as well. I would say the quality isn't the greatest, but the quantity is insane. They stuff your box with food to where it can barely close. The price is also super cheap for the amount of food you're getting. If you want something quick and cheap to bring home, this is definitely an option.
google avatar

Casidy C.

Yelp
We came here after hearing they had the rare Taiwanese food item- run bing; or Taiwanese burrito! They have three options for the protein- marinated ground pork, charsiu, and tempura seafood. They also allow you to choose a sauce and I believe you can request to not put certain things (like cilantro or the peanut powder). For $7-8, this thing was HUGE! I was full after only being able to eat half, and it's not really the thing that lasts or transports well so I didn't finish it. Overall, the flavor was alright, but nothing compared to the Taiwanese original version. My mom who also tried one said it was probably the lack of seasoning on the veggies. I would come back to try their other items though- like their fantuan (sticky rice roll) and their wheel cakes. Easy parking in the mall's lot, and clean interior! Lots of seating for the little ranch 99 food court, and it looks like they're opening a mochinut next to it too. Maybe recommend coming for lunch rather than dinner- I read some other reviews that warned they sometimes close early.

Yelp
A shiny and new 99 Ranch in San Jose! This location is located in The Westfield Oakridge Mall so you can do shopping, eating and then grocery shopping here! As I mentioned it's brand new so it's cleaner and brighter compared to other 99 Ranch Markets. They have a lot of produce, meats, seafood, snack selections. I would say better snack selection and offerings that most Asian markets in the area. My favorite part is getting crab here and they can cook/steam for free! If you do grocery shop before shopping in the mall - if you feel like you don't want to drop off your groceries in the car, you may leave them in the front with an attendant and they can hold it for you and give you a number for pick up later. This location also has their usual casual food fare complete with bbq pork, dimsum, etc. They also have a boba shop and bakery inside. Lately, the boxed fruits that we get here seems to be not close to being ripe and eggs cost way too much here compared to other grocery stores.
google avatar

Alisa B.

Yelp
Who would have thought to put a 99 Ranch inside of a Westfield Mall??? Definitely a unique placement. You have to come here last, so your perishables don't spoil or defrost while walking around Oakridge LOL This store is smaller than other 99 Ranch locations in San Jose, but this is awesome for people who live in South SJ! There aren't many Asian grocery stores in the area, so this is a great addition. They also had a ton of clearance and discounts compared to other 99 Ranch locations! 50% off oyster sauce? SAY LESS. Inside is very clean! They have an organized bakery section AND they have a One Zo Tapioca inside too. Get your boba fix while grocery shopping.
google avatar

Brenda L.

Yelp
The good: I remember over the summer seeing the "coming soon" sign and was shocked that this former Mainland clothing store was soon to become an Asian grocery store. I didn't imagine that it'd be big enough but I was wrong. There's a separate entrance to the grocery store outside so you don't have to enter and walk through the entire mall to get to the market however it was closed when I came. They have a deli that you can access both inside the grocery store and "outside" toward the mall entrance. There's ample seating spots both inside the store and outside for eating at their bakery and deli. There's a boba spot inside too that you can also access from inside or outside the mall. Upon checkout, they give you discount coupons for their deli. The bad: A lot of things here are more expensive than other Asian supermarkets. For instance, the grapefruit and the mini muffins. The muffins here were almost $7 but are only $5 (for the exact same brand and quantity) at Safeway. You can only access the Taiwanese burrito spot when you're coming from the mall side (rather than from inside). I tried the marinated pork Taiwanese burrito from the deli area and thought it was super cool to watch them make. The dough is stretchy and chewy, unlike tortilla in a traditional burrito, and the fillings include meat and peanut powder. Overall, the inside lacked some flavor and I wasn't offered one of the 3 dipping sauces that supposedly accompanied it. I got some after requesting it later but the lady had to walk far to the other side of the store to get it. The interesting: What an amazing concept of having a grocery store at the mall. I've seen this done in other states like NY but it doesn't exist in this area yet (that I know of). I can't tell if it's convenient or unnecessary but I imagine that my runs to get necessities like food will now become a "I might as well look at what's new in clothing next door" too.

Yelp
This location has rude service. The person who served me needed an attitude adjustment. Food is all not that great either. The meat is tough to eat.

Yelp
You know you're old when you get excited when a grocery store opens up near you. I've been waiting for 99 Ranch Market to open for a while since there aren't really any Asian markets on the South Side of San Jose. The market was clean and everything was stocked! I was able to buy some chicken, vegetables, and snacks for a reasonable price. They also had a bakery, hot food deli, and a milk tea store inside the grocery store. Next time, I'll try some of the hot food items since I'm curious on how those taste. :)

Yelp
I have been waiting for this Chinese grocery store opening for a long time. Finally I got a chance to visit it yesterday. The supermarket is located at the back of Oakridge shopping mall, which is in between "Living Spaces" and Macy's. Parking: There is a big parking lot right in front of the supermarket. The parking lot used to be the "Farmers' Market" Oakridge on Sunday morning. Inside: It looks pretty good inside, as each of the item are well organized. The Aisles are long and most importantly the spaces are wide. Seafood: the fish or seafood looks fresh in reasonable price. Tips: The grocery cart is only allow to be used inside the supermarket and parking lot , but not inside the shopping mall. Therefore , you are better to park your car close-by enough , especially the supermarket is quite far away from Tesla super-charging station :-)

Yelp
The store has great lighting and looks nice but they the bbq pork and duck in the mall side we both got the craps right after heating up and eating the chicken skewer the first day then again after heating up and eating the bbq pork chicken needs to be kept hot not just sitting in piles never gotten sick from any other ranch 99 bbq pork and none of them keep the meat hot either so it must have been just too old lady didn't even close the lid on my noodles and just dragged the noodles hanging out on the counter gross

Eugene K.

Yelp
Ordered from here two separate times. Tried their bbq item which was cold and dry. Second time I got their dim sum item. Pretty sure this is a roach

Yelp
This grocery store finally open after months of waiting. I was in the area so why not stop by and check it out. Can't believe they opened up on inside the mall. A lot of their items was on sale. This grocery store location just open up and it's really crowded. The aisles are small which made it hard to walk and push the basket or carts. Can't believe they have their food court and bakery inside 99 Ranch and the mall. I will definitely come back when it's not too crowded.

Yelp
99 ranch market at oakridge is my favor Asian market store! They serve all the fresh seafood and Asian delicacies that all other traditional Asian super market Carry but with the cleanliness and organization of whole foods! I love that! They have a nice Chinese BBQ station and bakery department which I can't miss!

Yelp
I had heard about this location through a friend and was excited to try the new and improved 99 Ranch Market at the Oakridge Mall. It looks great and is way bigger than the other spots, well-stocked, and well lit. In addition to the regular groceries, they also have a Boba spot and food court. I picked up some salmon sashimi which was very good. Service was a mixed bag. The ladies at the food court were borderline rude but the cashier at the front was super nice.

Yelp
IMHO This particular 99 Ranch is not in my usual shopping/neighborhood area, but we were in the vicinity, and I'd heard a lot about this new location at Oakridge Mall. There are two entrances to the market, one from the outside where there is ample parking, or the inside of the mall. The market is bright, colorful, and inviting! Hey, it's a new store! There are dedicated bakery sections, boba shop, deli/dim sum section to entice you immediately. Since we were there early, we opted to order a combo box of food to-go. You get a choice of rice or noodles, plus two or three entrees for either $9.99 or $10.99. I chose the chicken/broccoli, barbecued spareribs, and salt/spicy spareribs with chow mein noodles. These noodles were thick, chewy and tasteless. We didn't like them at all. (I almost think they were day-old.) Wish they offered thinner noodles. Next time we'll order rice... All food/grocery offerings were plentiful, and well-organized, with many different brands/options to choose from. Produce was beautifully displayed. Many meat and seafood options. I thought the prices were a tad higher but the quality of the food is good. Depending on how much you spend, you are given deli coupons to redeem within 10 days. Will we return? Only if we're in the area.

Yelp
4.5 stars rating. Let them organize and get comfortable. It looks pretty good to me! Yes, the newest location inside South San Jose's Westfield Oakridge Mall is finally open. Official Grand Opening starts this weekend. Right across from Color Me Mine and adjacent to Andersen Bakery. You can expect huge crowds during this month. They were preparing since the start of the pandemic in 2020 and didn't open in 2021. It was really not bad today. Thursday morning soft opening between 10AM-11AM had no lines, no crowds, and no traffic. Gets very crowded after 11:15 AM and around lunchtime. Mainly women and elderly folks. Rolling shopping carts are like the ones used inside Canada, Hong Kong, and France neighborhood grocery stores. Aisles are long! Spaces are wide. You get the same food items at other branches. Prices are same, but you can find deals like $2.99 per pound cornish hen, $2.99 per pound red meats, $0.99 per pound broccoli crowns, a bottle of Sriracha garlic chilli sauce at under $3, Asian snacks under $4-$5 per bag, Vitasoy brand drinks 6-pack at $3.33 each, bread buns under $2.50 and more. Soup bases and sauces or marinade packets are usually good. Assam fish paste under $2.75. You can sit inside the mall to eat at the tables across from Color Me Mine and buy takeout boba tea/chopped BBQ meats/bakery items/dim sum, or you can go inside the 99 Ranch store to order your foods from the cashiers in the same area. Pretty cool. Love these options. It was fully staffed today. Fire fighters and locals were in a short line to try out Chinese foods to go. That area looks great if you want to eat the BBQ pork and rice plates there. The new concept and layout is great, but there's not much going on inside Oakridge Mall these days. Bakery looks decent and updated too. Very clean feeling. Parking lots are not crowded. Macy's is still operating, but many entrances to the shopping mall are closed or blocked out. The pandemic really downgraded the businesses. You can hear people speaking more in Cantonese-Chinese while sitting inside the mall surrounding the 99 Ranch area. The lighting is very bright inside, creating a very welcoming ambience and atmosphere. Management and staff members were bustling and hustling, so I do give them credit for working out the daily logistics and operations. Any grocery stores looking like a clean cut of Trader Joe's or Amazon Whole Foods Market will attract large crowds. Come early! 99 Ranch has been successful and keeps thriving and growing. I will be back to check out other items next time. Love it.

Yelp
Not enough registers open. I spent more time waiting to check out than shopping. Lady at the register even left halfway through to deal with customer question instead of calling someone else on the team to help while she could continue scanning items. Totally inefficient.

Yelp
Undercooked roast duck. I purchased a whole roasted duck from this location. When they cut the duck, they shall notice that it's undercooked and not safe to eat. Unfortunately, I noticed this when I got home and was already at dinner time. Couldn't reach their phone after multiple calls. There are parts which are pure raw meat that are worse than the pictures. Unfortunately I'm hungry and recooked them in my air fryer.

Yelp
Great market with an overwhelming selection of items. The produce department is impeccable with fruits and vegetables to satisfy the most curious of palettes. The bakery is the only place outside of Maui that I've been able to find milk bread and it is delicious. The meat and fish counter has a wonderful selection for any meal. The service is basic, nobody is overly friendly or goes out of their way to help you, but they're not rude. Make sure you have plenty of time to wander because there are sure to be items you didn't know you needed.

Yelp
First time here, lovely experience. Friendly staff, very clean. The grocery store is where Sears used to be, the cafeteria style food is just around the corner facing the inside of the mall. Lots of seating. Lots of choices from whole duck to dimsum. I tried the shrimp ball, shrimp and eggplant, shrimp and bell pepper, and pork skewers. Pork was a little fatty. All delicious but could have been hotter. All that and a soda for $11!
