We almost walked by this place and I'm not sure what caught our attention but I'm glad that we stopped. The place was empty around 2pm and we were hesitant to order due to that but once we sat down and ordered we were quite relieved. We ordered two Bento boxes (salmon and chicken teriyaki) and an avocado salad. Everything was absolutely delicious and the prices were decent. When we finished eating, around 3 in the afternoon, the place was starting to fill up so either we drew a crowd or got in just in time. Either way, we had a wonderful experience. The only slight drawback for one of the members of our group was that the music was not oriental but rather American pop which took a little away from the ambiance if you're trying to immerse yourself in the culture. I didn't mind it though. For what it's worth, I fully reccomend this place.

Google
We discovered the restaurant by chance. And it was a fantastic and amazing experience. The food is tasty, the service is excellent! Congratulations! We will be back for sure.

Google
We visited this restaurant to have bubble tea. These are fruit flavored drinks infused with cream and mixed with tapioca balls (for the "bubbles"). The drinks were iced but were not stirred properly, so parts were still warm. We got a 10 oz glass for $3.90. We've had bubble tea elsewhere, and theirs is definitely a much-watered down version for more $. The waitress showed her disappointment when we told her that we were not having dinner. She came back to ask us what flavors we wanted because she did not write down our orders. The check included an 18% service fee but also had a blank spot for tips! What the #:&_\%#!? Did they really expect us to give them more money for such bad service and drinks?

Google
This review is strictly for the sushi. I've been trying local sushi spots to find my go to but haven't been very successful. AA Jing is yet another disappointing experience. I got the 3 roll lunch special which comes with a soup or salad (not both). Yellow tail scallion, tuna, salmon. First let me say out of all the options I've tried so far, this was the cheapest at under $15. Quality wise it's average if not below average. There really wasn't any flavor and it all kinda tasted the same. As you can see in the pic, the rolls aren't well made and don't even completely seal. As I said, flavor wise it's nothing of note. Was it bad? No. But it certainly wasn't good. Biggest flaw by far is that the yellow tail was not properly prepared. I found 3 bones in 3 different rolls. One of which is pictured below. That's just unacceptable. Obviously this isn't a Japanese restaurant and is just a Chinese place looking to cash in on the sushi market. They probably get by but you aren't getting good sushi by any means here. I might come back for the Chinese food options but it's once and done for me with the sushi.

Google
Amazing food and service! Pretty cheap for good nyc sushi, too. Would definitely go back for the peanut avocado roll.

Google
For me... the jury's still out on this one: I've only been once, so I want to give it another try. The food was just okay and the service was a little nonchalant, even though it was not busy at all.

Andrew Sayer

Google
I really enjoyed the chicken five flavors. Service is friendly.

I didn't take any photos. Good Chinese food in Hells Kitchen. The menu items were familiar items you would find at any carry out, but with a more relaxed dining atmosphere. The prices were exceptional. My tab was under $50.00 US. I had a beer, sake, sushi, spring rolls, and an entrèe.

David P.

Yelp
Very good food and service. A good variety of dishes to please any palette. I have been many times and have not been dissatisfied.

Crystal H.

Yelp
I ordered takeout from Seamless. The food I received was just ok. Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll - This was not crunchy or spicy. It was mediocre and unimpressive. Pad Thai Chicken - The food was piping hot which was good. A couple pieces of chicken were firm and over cooked. Nothing special or memorable about this dish.

Ellen P.

Yelp
Lunch specials are pretty good! Got the Mapo Tofu with a vegetable fried rice and a spring roll (though I think it was an egg roll) ($8.25), General Tso's Chicken with vegetable fried rice and hot and sour soup ($8.35), and a Thai Iced Tea ($3.50). Everything was satisfying because the portions are fairly large (even the hot and sour soup seemed like an entree size), the food isn't bland or greasy, which I find a lot at these sorts of Chinese take out spots, and the delivery was quick (about 20 minutes during prime lunch time). This place will probably be my go to Chinese take out place! Definitely get the Thai Iced Tea-- worth the $3.50!

Joseph P.

Yelp
Ordered chicken wings as an appetizer and the smallest 4 wings I have ever seen were served. When i mentioned to waitress she laughed but I told her it was a complaint, not a joke. Will not rush back.

Heidi W.

Yelp
A great sushi lunch today, fresh and delicious. As a local hk resident, glad to have this place as an option. Really appreciate the service and quality of food today. P.S. the dressing on the side salad and the miso soup were the best! Looking forward to ordering again in the future.

Chrissy R.

Yelp
i haven't eaten at the restaurant, but order takeout often. The sushi rolls are always fresh and AA Jing offers generous portions at very competitive prices. The boy and my family loved the cooked foods - everything from Thai to Chinese and Japanese. I keep coming back for the sushi. Highly recommend!

David B.

Yelp
Had a craving for authentic Chinese food while visiting mid-town Manhattan. This place was walking distance from Time Square in Hell's Kitchen, and had decent reviews on Yelp, so we tried it. We were very pleasantly surprised. Excellent savory authentic Chinese food, and all members of our party of 6 were very happy with the quiet and casual ambience and attentive service. Give it a try!

Nikki H.

Yelp
The waitress gaslit me that my order didn't come with salad when on every menu (online, physical menu and take out menu) said it does come with salad, I wasn't mad that she forgot it I just asked her to take it off the bill and she told me it doesn't come with salad, whatever keep the 3$

Julianne A.

Yelp
Our office ordered from here for lunch via Seamless. The menu is huge and spans a variety of Asian cuisines. Our delivery showed up 10 or so minutes late which isn't that big of a deal for an order our size. I got the Thai Basil Lunch with miso vegetable soup, brown rice, and chicken. The miso vegetable soup was weird and exactly what it sounds like. They literally put peas and cubed carrots into my miso soup. I don't really see the point of that. I wouldn't recommend the Thai basil dish itself. It was not tasty and I wasn't able to finish it. I also got Char Siu boneless ribs which was actually pretty good. But it's not something I would eat for an entire meal because it's too sweet. Overall, I wouldn't choose to eat here again. But if I did eat here, the food is edible and I would have to try different dishes.

Lawrence N.

Yelp
Great place because 1. everything is made fresh and to order. 2. They are people pleasing and follow directions on food preparation "as in" steaming and sauce on the side. Also perfect spice levels. 3. They offer sushi and lots of vegetarian choices from dumplings to egg rolls to tofu. Nice ambiance, the furnishings are higher end and considering the location there is fairness of pricing. Bottom line: This place offers value for your money. Even the bottles of wine were fairly priced. What can I say, I'm a fan.

Huilin C.

Yelp
Came here on a Thursday night for dinner. I have mixed feelings for this place. We ordered: Edamame Spicy girl tartare snowhite sushi roll Fried green tea balls Pros: Sushi and edamame were good. Spicy girl tartare has very unique flavor. Be aware that it has raw quail egg and fish eggs on it. Cons: The place decoration is all over the place. It has so much going on. Minimalists may want to stay away from this place, or simply not looking up or around.. There was only one waitress this whole place. Not sure if it's the kitchen or her but it's very slow the whole time, we were very unattended. She spilled source on a guy sitting next to our table. The green tea balls are absolutely awful! This is the only item we ordered on the dim sum menu and we are glad it was. It doesn't have green tea but food coloring. Stay away from dim sum menu.

Melissa M.

Yelp
Love it! In NYC for the first time and Chinese sounded good so found this Asian option (Chinese, Asian, Thai). Food was delicious! We had Five Flavor chicken, chicken fried rice, teriyaki chicken, dumplings and a few other entrees. Good portions, great service.

Sonia E.

Yelp
Excellent choice in the neighborhood - they did all of the dishes we ordered well - the place is pleasant and not loud - they have Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian and fusion dishes and did all of them well. The waitress was extremely gracious and kind. Affordable and attractively plated. Would definitely return. Many places in the neighborhood are crowded and rowdy now during Covid time - this felt like a wonderful haven.

Yelp
Ordered here through Seamless last Sunday, and we enjoyed the food, General Tso's was good, however the next day when I was about to finish the General Tso, I found a dead cooked FLY in it !! so nasty. got a refund through seamless. the lady manager i spoke with was nice and offered free food, but we wouldnt chance eating bugs from them.

Tammy U.

Yelp
We haven't been to New York in three years and were looking forward to visiting an old favorite. Bad mistake. The server spent more time talking on the phone with her earbuds in than taking care of customers. The general tso chicken was sweet and sour chicken with no spice and the menu prices were not what we were charged. When asked the server allows showed us a small written note that wasn't clear on the front of the menu. For being in New York with so many choices, please choose somewhere else for dinner. We certainly will when we visit again.

Vicky T.

Yelp
Very tasty yet clean Chinese and Japanese food place in hells kitchen. Glad to have this as an option when I can't decide whether I want Chinese or Japanese lol. Their sushi rolls and fried rice are delicious. And I like that its not very oily. Keep up the good work!!

Maricela V.

Yelp
The egg drop soup was quite tasty! But it all went don't hill after that. The kung pao chicken was too salty and lacked other flavor. There were a lot of green bell peppers though which was a plus. The pad see ew was so vinegary I could barely take one bite. Not sure if I am just spoiled with awesome chinese food back in la but this spot definitely left a lot to be desired.

Zoe C.

Yelp
The "lobster" Rangoons were terrible. Soggy, gross and absolutely not one spec of lobster. However, the delivery estimate time was accurate, everything in the order was correct and the restaurant followed my written request to change the preparation of my shrimp dish, which was excellent. Large fresh shrimp. Minus one star for the crab rangoons

Bart L.

Yelp
Was looking for Sushi and stumbled on this little place. The staff were friendly and the chef was on point. Great Sake selection also. I will revisit

Lynn L.

Yelp
Sushi tastes really good . My boyfriend loves their spicy tuna roll and spicy salmon salmon.

Jason K.

Yelp
BEST CHINESE FOOD ON THE UWS. I ordered a bunch of "traditional" Chinese American dishes and they were amazing AND were still very hot when they arrived. This is my new go-to spot for house special fried rice, pork dumplings and crispy beef. The egg roll was weirdly tough but not too greasy and still serviceable.

Natalie B.

Yelp
We walked in here late one night looking for good sushi and were not disappointed. My favorite was the spicy crunchy tuna hand roll. The waitstaff was super friendly and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant is small but cozy and features large windows that look out onto the street and are great for people watching.

Ryan E.

Yelp
This place is fantastic. I've had about 5 different things here all good. Super fast delivery. The Kung Pao is my favorite. If you're looking for quality Chinese that is a step above that cash only, C health rated dirty place around the corner this is the spot. Fresh hot quality

Martin N.

Yelp
Came here in a rush. Waitress was very accomodating and let me pay in advance as I ate my fried rice in a hurry. They included a lot of shrimp in the rice - I'm not the biggest seafood person, but I appreciated having more than less. Many tables were available on Thursday afternoon! I would like to come here again when I am not in a hurry to experience it fully.

Danesh J.

Yelp
I'm a fan. For a place in Hell's Kitchen on a Saturday night, this spot was spacious, not packed, quiet and has a bathroom. Food: Salmon Sashimi (great for these summer hot days), Lobster Rangoon (good price, taste decent but dipping sauce could be better), Thai Spring rolls (good, again with the sauce), Kaneohe Prawns (looks sparce as it is just sauce and shrimp with a side of rice, but it has a lot of flavor and prawns are a good size), Paradise Chicken (partner got this one so didn't taste much of it but she cleaned the plate which was a first). Be warned that both dishes have Macadamia nuts. Overall, cozy, delicious spot that I will definitely check out again. Food bit: Supposedly, when cooked and deshelled, there is no real difference between prawns and shrimp.

Troy B.

Yelp
Ordered from here for lunch got the lunch special - 5 Flavor chicken. I have had it before so I know its good. Problem: on a 9.00 special... I tipped the guy $3.00 (more than fair right? ) keep in the mind. I live half a block away.... the delivery guy calls me and tells me the food is downstairs. I tell him that my apartment number is on the order and I paid for it to be delivered. Three minutes later, my buzzer rings and he stomps all the way upstairs to my THIRD floor apartment. As soon as he sees me, he starts fussing under his breath ( I couldn't comprehend) but I take it that he was not happy that he had to deliver it to my apartment door? I am not sure if this is what is called customer service nowadays but paying you a tip more than guarantees that my food should be delivered to me at my front door. I have never been so turned off from a place....not to mention the food was cold. it was so not worth it. I will never order or step foot in that place again. STAY AWAY.

Kaeppler R.

Yelp
You HAVE to go here! My husband and I have quickly become regulars here. Where else in our neighborhood can you have a fresh, quality dinner for two, including drinks for under $30! I love that they start you out with a complimentary dim sum. They offer never-ending green tea (which tastes amazing!) and end the fabulous meal with a nice little "dessert" (usually ice cream) on the house. I must say, the Pad Thai is one of the best I've had and is consistently great. We've also had the Thai Basil Chicken, General Tsao's Chicken, and the Turbot...all of which were awesome! The service is always exceptional...the perfect balance between being overly attentive and MIA, like so many other restaurants. Bottom line, if you haven't tried this place, you are missing out. It's a hidden gem on 9th.

Andrew P.

Yelp
one of my favorite place for Chinese, very authentic and delicious. Definitely go for the dumplings and egg roll/spring roll. Fried rice is worth for a try to!在

Jordan W.

Yelp
I was in the Times Square area a few weeks back and was looking for some really good chinese food. I was not ready to settle for thai or ruby foo's or some joker like T.G.I. Fridays. I check the reviews of the spot and read some really good stuff (It was previously called Westside Cottage 2). I really enjoyed the Five Flavor Chicken that I had and the scallion pancake was delicious. My cousins also enjoyed what they ordered, I think it was Curry Chicken and Lobster Rangoon as the appetizer. I would recommend to anyone in the area. I also sampled some of the Thai Basil Chicken and that was good as well.

C. L.

Yelp
Three and a half stars would've been a more appropriate rating, but yelp doesn't give us that privilege so. Anyway, expectations weren't very high for this place. Any time a restaurant tries to tackle several different cuisines with an overly long menu, I'm skeptical. The food, however, was decent. We got a bit of everything: a roll, some pad kee-mao, and the "five flavor chicken". The roll and pad kee-mao were okay. Imagine the dozens of average Asian restaurants you've been to, and you'll know what these tasted like. The five flavor chicken, however, was fantastic. The chicken had an amazing texture, and the sauce was such a delectable blend of sweet and spicy. I don't even know what it was, but it was good. The interior is fine, the service is forgettable, and most of the menu is mediocre. However, I would probably come here again because of that five flavor specialty.

Priya S.

Yelp
Their sesame chicken is THE best I've had. My husband and I takeout their sesame chicken at least once every two weeks and we seriously crave it if we haven't had it in a while. One order is more than enough for one dinner for the two of us (plus a little leftover) so the value is great as well. I can't speak on much of their other items although the few that I have tried (spring rolls and avocado sushi) were average or sub-par. I also can't speak on ambiance or service since I've only ever ordered for delivery. If you come here, definitely try the sesame chicken!

Jeannette S.

Yelp
this is a great neighborhood restaurant has been around for some time now, I take my family out to eat there because the food is not overpriced and is delicious, I recommend this restaurant it's my go to anytime for a good meal

Dan S.

Yelp
All I can say is, don't believe the Yelp hype. This is a very ordinary Asian food place. It's not bad, per se. But its the kind of place that every neighborhood has (or ought to). Solid (yet unspectacular) Asian cuisine that dumbs down the spices. The result is a bit unsatisfying, particularly in light of all the other 9th avenue Thai/Asian places. Hot & Sour soup was hardly spicy; that's hard to do. Just lacked much pepper and flavor. The Avocado egg rolls were different but the appearance of it just seemed a bit off. The Thai Basil Beef had good quality pieces of meat in it (and not too chewy either). But the sauce was basically a non-descript "brown" sauce you can get on almost any Chinese dish. Sweet, but again, just kind of a let down. Service was fine and the atmosphere was good -- they can open it up for nice nights which is a good touch. So, if I lived in the area, I might get take out. But if I was visiting or trying to find a new place, I'd skip it. Too much "done that, been there" in this place.

Xiaofeng L.

Yelp
Just dine in here tonight, had sushi and sashimi for two. The sushi is amazing and really fresh. Also see chef made a sushi cake for someone's birthday, WOW! So creative! My friend and I both have a good Time in this place. Definitely come back another time!

E M.

Yelp
Yuck! I ordered chicken Pad Thai, and it came with tomato sauce taste and wheat noodles. Chicken tasted more like rubber. Not impressed.

Sàba V.

Yelp
Beautiful decorations ! They are working really hard about it . Sushi is Good , I loved my diamond( special ) roll and el avocado roll . both were really good. Service is on 0 point ! So confused because of the wait staff .... They out the "Service Fee" in our party of 5 . No one told us in the beginning, last time for same party they didnt put any gratuity. staff was eating next to our table which was unhigienic to see 2 stars because of beautiful and mind blowing decorations .

Dany S.

Yelp
Good food & service ,they always have space to seat, no wait that's great ,recommended to any one who love sushi,

Annie Y.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with 2 other friends. It's your typical cozy Hell's Kitchen restaurant. We got the Potstickers, Duck Risotto, Beef Chow Fun, General Tsao's Chicken, and Cold Noodles with Egg Noodles. The dishes were a decent portion for the price but while Jings' chefs certainly put in a bit of effort on presentation unfortunately the food was not up to par. The risotto wasn't really risotto...not very memorable. The chicken and chow fun were too greasy although I thought the peanut butter sauce in the Cold Noodles made for a refreshing snack. After we sat down I found out that the health rating here was a C....and while no one got sick the food didn't sit quite right either.

M C.

Yelp
Food is excellent fresh and done to perfection. Service is very good, wait staff is prompt and courteous. We will be back.

João Paulo C.

Yelp
The place is very tacky, but that sometimes it is a good thing. Some of the plates are very good and the staff are super fast.

Trevy B.

Yelp
I am a long time, local customer of AA JING as I live in the neighborhood. The reason I am giving zero stars is specifically for the rude lady ( owner/manager?) calling me to scream at me for contacting Seamless about the horrible egg rolls I ordered. Seamless refunded my entire order after explaining to them what I bit into and smelled, then vomiting. I have ordered numerous times at AA Jing and I never really had any complaints as the food is generally fresh an taste great. Today, as soon as I took a bite of the eggroll, the stinch of old cabbage, or better yet the smell of someones dirty armpits hit my senses and I immediately spit the eggroll out an vomited in the toilet. Something is truly wrong with this lady at the restaurant, calling me to scream an become irrate saying do not order here again. As a long time customer who has given them a lot of money over the years, the polite thing to do would have been to say, I am so sorry you had a bad experience, what can we do to make it better!! She knew they had rotten egg rolls, that had probably been sitting in the freezer for God knows how long, and could careless if a customer got sick by consuming the garbage. Her entire establishment should be closed for good! It takes a lot for me to be so disappointed an disgusted to write a terrible review, but others in the area, surely need to know what a loyal customer like myself went through today. Never again!!

L T.

Yelp
I don't eat Chinese food often, however, this place is pretty good. I ordered a few selections and everything I ate was great. Believe it or not, I never had Miso soup and it was so good. Tried the Hot and Sour soup too, delicious. But my favorite was the Cashew Shrimp, most places are not generous with the shrimp, not this place, was awesome. Delivery was right on time, perhaps even before. Only little thing is that they didn't supply condiments with my order, no big deal I guess - the food was so tasty, I didn't need it.

Shay K.

Yelp
What kind of Sushi place charge for spicy mayo?! And if they do, why aren't they mention it on their menu?! I ordered sushi and asked for EXTRA spicy mayo but ended up not getting it at all! Not to mention the extra that I asked for...

Lizzy W.

Yelp
Solid Asian fusion with a lot of options. Some of the food in particular is a great deal. For example, the baked salmon with crab is filling and only $8.25. The tofu and bean curd options are enormous (definitely enough for a full meal, for me at least) and about $10. Full confession - I'm a big fan of "gringo sushi". With that in mind, some of the fusion rolls are delicious and actually quite filling. My favorites include the volcano roll (my family went wild over this) and the lava roll (though if you're looking for a healthy sushi roll, it's probably not exactly what you're looking for). The lobster rangoon is mostly cream cheese (which is tasty, but also probably not what you're looking for). I was with a friend who orders takeout from there often and they said delivery time was hit or miss - either super fast or super slow. Conclusion: There are some really good deals here and it's an extensive menu, so I'm always trying new things. Some are hit or miss but there are definitely solid options and some of the best "gringo" sushi (hope that's not offensive!) around.

Abby I.

Yelp
If you want a calorie-free meal (because you won't eat it) order from this restaurant. I just wasted $30 bucks on dinner/delivery. Bland Pad Thai (not even sure how that's possible). Lobster crab Rangoon was all cream cheese - and filling was skimpy and dry (again, how is this possible??). Pan fried pork dumplings were decent (at least I had one edible dish out of 3).

Rong L.

Yelp
Been coming here for years, and never disappointed. Some of the freshest, most delicious rolls I've ever had. Service is always great and the sit down dining atmosphere is relaxing. All the staff I have interacted with are very friendly.

Amanda O.

Yelp
I used to live right down the street from AA Jing and have continued to return since moving. I love the rock n roll, both the specialty rolls and the simple rolls are amazing. Crab rangoon, edamame, and spring rolls are all good starters. One of my favorite go to sushi spots with consistently good food, service and price.

Isla J.

Yelp
Awesome food, great ambience, and very good food! Their dim sum yellow buns and pork buns are delicious. It's dark, and quiet, and a modern vibe.

Cindy U.

Yelp
ABSOLUTELY NASTY NASTY FOOD. The ribs -$7.85- 4 short fatty pieces -tasted like it was boiled without any seasoning at all. Beef and broccoli with fried veggie rice. ABSOLUTELY FLAVORLESS. DON'T WASTE UR MONEY. U know the food is NASTY when ur starving and after just 1 bit u call and return the food.
