This large, airy bakery/cafe from Baked & Wired's owners serves gourmet sandwiches, toasts & more.
"A Baked Joint is Baked & Wired’s love letter to breakfast and bread. The Mount Vernon Triangle spot has a big open kitchen, a coffee bar in the middle, and plenty of seating—tables, a standing bar, even some lofted nooks for when you want to disappear with a latte. It’s equally great for catching up with friends or pretending to work on your laptop, but the real reason to be here is the breakfast biscuit sandwich—flaky, buttery, and the best thing on the menu. It sells out before noon on weekends, so either set an alarm or prepare to stare at the menu like it’s a Metro bus schedule—full of options, but somehow missing the one thing you wanted." - omnia saed, mekita rivas, tess shiras

"This Mount Vernon Triangle bakery, an offshoot of Georgetown go-to Baked & Wired, serves two flavors of focaccia year round: a caramelized onion and goat cheese, and a cherry tomato and herb — both of which tend to sell out by around 1 p.m. There are also occasional specials like chipotle potato. A giant slab costs a reasonable $5.95, and bite-size strips cost around a dollar. Focaccia is available for pickup or delivery, and the shop is currently open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. most days and until 2 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays." - Lisa Ruland
"Like sister bakery Baked & Wired, A Baked Joint folds meats and cheeses inside its biscuit dough, creating flavors like a spicy sausage, cheddar and cilantro biscuit or a version with caramelized onion and goat cheese. Order online from the all-day menu for pickup and delivery." - Tim Ebner
"Baked + Wired sister shop A Baked Joint has gained a fast following in Mt. Vernon Triangle. Its generous biscuit sandwiches are a big reason why. A Baked Joint serves breakfast every day from 8 a.m. well into the afternoon. The sweet and savory oatmeals are also a good bet, and so are toasts from its bakery. The restaurant has an unexpectedly large, sophisticated tea menu, too." - Lisa Ruland, Gabe Hiatt, Tierney Plumb
