"Before small-plate dining became seemingly the only way anyone eats, ever, À Côté was one of the first restaurants to bring the concept to the Bay Area back in 2001. Its safe to say their bet on tapas-style was a good one, and while the idea may not be as unique in 2018, this cozy neighborhood gem continues to impress diners with its seasonal Mediterranean menu that’s served family-style." - Clara Hogan, Eater Staff

Sigh ok I won’t gatekeep this place anymore but this is actually my favorite restaurant and I’ve tried a lot. It the perfect atmosphere of fancy/refined but cozy warm (the back patio when the weather is nice is so 🥰) I’ve come here so many special occasions, dates, celebrations or just bc I wanted dessert lol. U MUST order the mussels when u come and ask for a spoon or extra bread for the most life changing broth the mussels sit in. Every dessert here I’ve had has also always been a banger.

Google
Fantastic selection of food and always good service! Lovely spot in Rockridge which is great for a casual dinner or a nice date night. Lovely covered patio in the back! Cocktails are delicious - they always have good bartenders. Menu changes seasonally although there are some staples like the moules fries. Parking wasn't too bad on the street (we dined in the middle of the week) but the weekend can be harder so be prepared to take extra time looking for parking or walking a couple of blocks. Close to BART. Highly recommend the Georgian khachapuri and stone fruit salad!!!

We had a lovely meal at Acote in their garden area! Service was fantastic and all the food tasted delicious. We got the strawberry baby kale salads, pommes frites and the halibut. Also tried the phony Negroni and loved it.

Google
À Cōté offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food and healthy portions. The mussels are always a hit, providing a flavorful and satisfying option. I particularly enjoyed the skirt steak, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The cocktails were also a highlight, expertly crafted and delicious. The only downside is the lighting, which is quite dark. However, once your eyes adjust, it’s all good. Highly recommend this place for a great meal and enjoyable ambiance.

Google
Service was good and kind. I had lamb meatballs, mussels, carbonara. Lamb meatballs were best lol mussels were just regular tasty but fries came with mussels were better than main menu. We asked more baguette for left over mussels sauce. Server Refilled a lot of baguette. Carbonara tastes like instant ramen:0 Don't order that. I would recommend lamb meatballs and fries.

Google
Food is mediocre at best and terribly overpriced. Expect $50 a person if you’re drinking water and the portions are tiny. Service was not great either. Waitress was kind of rude and barely came over. Sat there for 20 minutes just wanting to pay and leave.

Google
Overall a really nice, cozy, but dimly lit neighborhood restaurant. With uniquely organized small plate meals. They've stood the test of time. There is a lot of variation on seating; from a community table, to small 2 and 4 tops in the 2 window front, to a patio and then to a front covid style patio on the street front. Why a 4? Possibly the dim lighting, combined with the excess noise inside.

Google
Very nice meal out. Waiter was quite friendly and helpful with suggestions and portions (he kept us from ordering too much). Greek flatbread was yum. Antipasto plus the 2 cheese apps were a hit. Wife ordered the "Ace of Spades" drink...she approved.

Yelp
A friend of mine and I visited for the first time recently. Both of us had wanted to try it. Neither one of us regret it and we were so happy that we got to experience this wonderful place. First of all, the atmosphere is lovely. It definitely reminds me of a French bistro. It was very cheery and very nice low lighting with candles. Wait staff was amazing. They were all in a synchronized groove and we never wanted for anything. Checking on us a lot without bothering us, which is the perfect combination. Bringing us exactly exactly what we needed at the right time as far as silverware, replacing plates, etc. So much care and attention! Also, their knowledge of the food reminded me of being in Europe as well. They knew the menu very well and helped us make really good choices. They had an imported wine combination special, which was a half glass of red and a half glass of white, which looked like a rosé, but tasted very refreshing and not too sweet. It complemented our meal perfectly. We had the kale salad with strawberries, marinated olives, and halibut. The menu is very inspired by what's in season and the variety is lovely. For dessert, we had.the rhubarb cheesecake! It was more complex than just rhubarb and cheesecake but I forget the details. I just know that we almost fought over the last bite. Everything is served family style and we really enjoyed that because we got to share a lot of food. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I really enjoyed the ambience of this place! Went for my boyfriend's birthday and it was a perfect high-end casual restaurant. The server was absolutely the sweetest and helped us throughout the entire night. Mussels and Frites (8/10): Loved the seasoning on the fries with the dipping, and the mussels sauce was also great for dipping. Lamb Chop (8/10): The tzaziki sauce was also very good! Good option if you're into lamb. Hangar Steak (9/10): The red onion soubis along with the romesco sauce was sooo flavorful with the steak. Spring Linguine (8/10): Loved how fresh the pea shoots made the pasta and the slight crunch from the fava beans. Definitely a more simple linguine and wasn't very al dente which I personally enjoyed.

Yelp
My husband loves this place because it is dimly lit, as he feels all restaurants should be. We have been here occasionally over the last 10 years that we have lived in Rockridge. This time we made a reservation for Valentine's Day dinner, arrived a little bit early, but the hostess was able to seat us right away. Not all of the tables were full during our dining time. There were a few people sitting outside in the parklet, although it was cold and rainy out. The space is bigger than you think because there is a back area as well as the front and now the parklet. Our waitress was a very kind and smiley. She brought us menus, the wine menu, and a special Valentines menu. It is dimly lit, so you might have to whip out your phone flashlight if you have troubles reading. We both tried cocktails, and I liked mine better, it was called face dancer and came in a fancy coupe glass. And during dinner, we had the driest white wine that they had in stock for the day, which was confusingly called pecorino. We were offered still or sparkling water. We ordered olives which had a generous heap of a variety of olives in oil and garlic. Then, the white bean salad had a good vinaigrette. The Georgian flatbread is topped with cheese and an egg. We think the egg got overcooked because the waitress told us to mix in the egg yolk with the cheese before eating but it was already congealing. Warning: the red sauce that it comes with is super garlicky and we had garlic bread until the next morning. We also had the tuna, which was nice and raw inside, which I prefer, and came with mashed potatoes. We asked for a box and compostable boxes were provided along with paper bag for take away. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake shaped as a heart. We had also ordered some dessert liquor, which they apologized for not having in stock and recommended a different one for us. Valentines meal was great. The ambience is in between casual and upscale. It was not too loud for a Wednesday night, and there were no kids in sight. In past visits, we have sat at the bar. They do have an extensive wine list and I remember trying my first orange wine here. We also did a New Year's Eve here with them one year maybe 10 years ago with a big group and sat in the back. I remember there were some trouble with the heaters and the service that night, but it's been so long that I don't remember the details! Service today was great. There are two unisex restrooms opposite the kitchen. Be careful when you're walking because a lot of staff is rushing in and out. The restrooms do have the locks that indicate if they are vacant or in use, which is very handy! They also have a mailing list and you can find them on social media although there's not much posted from them. They are known for their happy hour, mussel and fries special which I often forget about so it would probably be beneficial for them to advertise it more! Street or neighborhood parking is easy otherwise it's a very short walk from Rockridge BART.

Yelp
The service was great here! Our waitress was super kind and helped answer all of our questions about the menu. The food was pretty good as well. We ordered the mussels and frites and spring linguine. I wished the spring linguine was a bit more flavorful, but overall it was decent.

Cathy H.

Yelp
Made dinner reservations for 6:30pm on a Wednesday evening. It took a while for the server to come and take our order but she made sure to check-in on us throughout the meal. Started with the happy hour special - mussels and pomme frites with two glasses of wine (we chose one white and one red. My partner enjoyed the white wine more than the red since it was crispier in taste. Mussels were good and the sauce was yummy! Fries were crispy and went well with the mussels. We also tried the Peach and prosciutto flatbread, which had a nice contrast of sweet and savory. Lastly, we got the scallops with gnocchi; scallops cooked to perfection and gnocchi was soft and pillowy with a delicious sauce. Ambiance is lovely with dim lighting throughout the restaurant. Highly recommend the food as everything we tried was great!

Yelp
Very friendly service, going out of their way throughout the pandemic and since to take care of customers. Good food and service timing will allow you to enjoy your meal. Their outdoor ambiance - really the transparent standing fires are always fun too.

Yelp
This place sells itself! I cannot say enough good things about this place! We came here at dinner time on a Friday night before the dinner rush. Executive Summary: Service:5/5 Flavor:5/5 Depth of menu:5/5 Good for groups:4/5-get here early Returning again:5:5 I'm not Michelin qualified but I had a Michelin star experience. If there was one item on the menu, I have not had in my plethora of bread I've consumed was the Khachapuri. Straight from the oven this dish is brought to your table still warm and piping warm just enough to cook the freshly cracked egg that slowly encapsulates the inside of the warm bread, it is worth every calorie! This is a must dish from this place. Enjoy!

Yelp
Food was good but not good enough for returning to this place with the below average service. We got the first round of seating and basically only 5 tables. We got seated to the busier table and all the other parties got the more private table. We have to ask twice to get another table. We finally got seated and waited about 15 to 20 min for the waitress to take our drink order. Our waitress have attitude! She made minimal eye contact and was very short with us when we have question on the drink menu. She was back to take our app and food order, attitude continued. I have better customer services and a cheaper price tag somewhere else.

Elliott D.

Yelp
While the food was good, this restaurant was anything but transparent about their charges. They put our 20% tip on our bill, and then bought us a credit card receipt, that gave us an option to tip 18%, 20% or 25%. We tipped 20% which was on top of the 20% that we already tipped. We should have been told that we already tipped 20 %, when our check was brought. We will not go back. Elliott D

Yelp
Love this spot! We had a reservation, even for a weeknight. We were seated quickly. We sat outside, in the parklet. It was a lovely late summer evening and it was beautiful outside. We ordered drinks and a few dishes to share. Everything was delicious, especially the salad and the flatbread with figs and pancetta. Service was impeccable. I'd come back again!

Jake B.

Yelp
Great spot! Fantastic service, excellent vibes, and very solid food. We ordered two dishes to split, the beef stew with orzo, and the Georgian cheese bread. Both were really solid! I'd come back to this place mainly for the vibes (the food was great, but overall the ambiance was what was exceptional!). Would recommend, I see why it's hyped up!

Janet B.

Yelp
My husband's food order never went in, as the staff finally admitted. We left with him hungry. When the bill came, not only did they not comp us anything; they changed us for a random drink we didn't order. We won't be going back. Too bad, because otherwise we've liked the place.

Yelp
Today we celebrated our anniversary at A cote. We arrived early so we could sit at the small booth at the back of the restaurant. It was a week day and the place was busy but not crowded. The food was excellent as usual, the mussels and frites is one of our favorites. For desert don't miss the ricotta fritters. They are amazing! Our waitress was super nice, and took care of us with kindness and laughter. We had a perfect evening.

marilyn h.

Yelp
I love a Cote'. Their m-th happy hour muscles special with fries and 2 glasses of wine is most memorable. I hate it when it is Friday and it isn't available. Hoping to return soon for another treat on the menu.

Tommy L.

Yelp
Amazing food. It was a very high quality experience. The ambiance was perfect and set the mood for a date night + 1. The duck is a MUST GET!!! The khachapuri was so fun to eat, and very delicious. Overall a great experience and I would come here again!

Waynr Z.

Yelp
Great place for an anniversary dinner. Service is splendid and they gave us a quiet corner in the back. The mussels and fries tasted awesome. The vibe seems chill but also kind fancy.

Christina H.

Yelp
Review just for the happy hour combo: - 5 stars: Fantastic service with a relaxed ambiance (we opted for outdoor seating) - 4 stars: Excellent pomme frites and delicious red wine - 3 stars: The mussels were fine, but definitely the laggard of the dishes we had The happy hour mussels + fries + 2 glasses of wine were very reasonably priced -- would definitely come back for another ladies date :)

Andrew S.

Yelp
I went to A Cote around ten years ago and thought it was great and always wanted to go back but the opportunity never came up until tonight. In summary, I thought it was good, but not great, and not as good as I remembered. Everything was good but not great. The olives for appetizer were good, but not great. They did give us a ton of them, however, and this was the first time in my life that I took home olives in a doggy bag because they gave us so many. The glass of wine was good, but not great. My steak was good but not great, as were the pomme frites. My dining partner had the pork souvlaki, which was OK, but probably the worst thing we ordered -- kind of dry and tasteless and overcooked, unlike any pork souvlaki I had when I was in Greece last year where it was always juicy and delicious. The restaurant itself was way too dark, which they seemed to do deliberately. Service was friendly. Since I don't live in the area, I probably won't come back anytime soon.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to eat (and drink) in Rockridge! Service is fantastic, the ambiance is great for business meetings as well and is also intimate enough for dinner with friends. .

Victor W.

Yelp
Fine food, great service... but rather pricey! Three of us dined on their nice patio and had great meals including a fine salad, slab o' fish for my friend, a skirt steak for my son and mussels served with a pile of fries for me (which the others helped devour) . We also had a good beer, nice glass of wine and an interesting drink (the drinks are cutely named after "beings" and other things in The Lord of The Rings) each. I can't say enough about the personable and timely wait-staff who were great. Overall, the meal was delightful,... but the check was rather large. It was worth it.

Savannah G.

Yelp
À Côté always delivers on an incredible meal. The ambiance is unmatched, whether you sit in the back patio or inside, and it's my favorite date night spot. I highly recommend going Tuesday through Thursday from 5-7 for their special: $40 for two glasses of wine, mussels, and pommes frites. Such a great deal and SOOO delicious. The broth the mussels are in should be sucked through a straw, it's so good. We also got the delicious chicken piccata and tagliatelle with mushrooms. Their wine menu is very unique and extensive, but even their house wine is delicious! I cannot recommend À Côté enough for an intimate date night or to take anyone you want to impress!

Dana S.

Yelp
Ambiance 5/5 Service 5/5 Food 6/5 Wow! What an amazing dining experience here. I came on a Friday evening and made a reservation in advance. Our server, Jackie, was attentive and hustling the whole time in our area making sure we (and other tables) were cared for. Khachapuri Adjaruli - yes yes and a million more yeses to this dish. Absolutely divine yet simple. Definitely tasted homemade and fresh. I'd come back solely for this. Pork chop - i can tell this was marinated thoroughly because every bite was packed with flavor. So delicious.

Yelp
A Cote is a neighborhood gem. I recently had a private dinner for 18 in the annex (it was my birthday!). Working with the staff, Caroline Beaty was effortless. Great communication and follow through - things that are so important in planning an event. The annex is a perfect spot for a gathering - plenty of space (my granddaughter could run around easily) with bench seating in addition to the table and the bar. The food was amazing. We had passed appetizers along with champagne that we brought in the day before. It was ready and chilled and offered when guests arrived. We had a three course prix fix menu - served family style. Everyone raved about the food. We had come for dinner at the bar a few days prior to taste wines for the event and our guests were delighted with the wine selection. Service (thank you Suzanne) was excellent. They were attentive and not over bearing and we had everything we needed to enjoy a lovely evening. Really, really pleased with how things turned out. Would highly recommend for a special event.

Claudia C.

Yelp
Our favorite go-to place. Love sitting at the bar and having dinner (mussels are a must!) and wine or a cocktail/mocktail. Cozy lighting, good service and delicious food. What more could you want?

Brian C.

Yelp
The food is very good but their response was not good at all to an incident involving them not securing their take-out packaging which reeked havoc on the seat of my car, my clothes and made a mess out of the entire 85.00 order. The two entrees were mussels swimming in broth and both containers were not properly closed at all hence the paper bag turning to mush. if they can't put such a meal in secure containers at least put all of the food in a plastic bag of some sort so the catastrophe stays contained. They offered us 15.00 for the entire incident and damages.

Yelp
Awesome food, great service, and I love that the back patio is super warm (perfect for a chilly November evening). Parking is tricky but we got lucky and found a spot nearby.

Joey M.

Yelp
"And there it was, mountains of duck. And not fatty duck either, but juicy tender breasts of duck" -Elaine Benes, Seinfeld da Scene: Reopening has us hitting old haunts and we're back in Oakland for another great night @ À Côté ! da Grub: Started with a Manhattan, Mussels & Pomme Frites - a great start! Then Duck Confit and Coulotte Steak... Duck was tender, savory greatness, the 2 glasses of red paired nicely. Finished with a fine glass of Port, cheesecake and double espresso. Cliche? Yep... but a pretty good one! da Service: Street parking can be tough... with parklets peppered about. Doors opened right at 5pm, was hoping for the back patio... NOT, but took an inside table by the window, can we request the back patio somehow when making reservations please? Food & drinks were expedited perfectly, staff were great, and kept everything safe. Parklet looked comfy, windows and drapes protect the experience. 5th star for coming back strong!

Jacqueline G.

Yelp
Worst dining experience I have had in as long as I can recall. Table was 30 minutes delayed. We had to ask for a server twice. The entire staff were rude and seemed disgruntled. On top they added 20% gratuity automatically. I will not be returning which is disappointing for a former neighborhood favorite.

Derek C.

Yelp
My friends and I met here for a long-awaited reunion dinner. We'd remembered it fondly since our Cal days. The food was really wonderful - try the steak and flatbread. The cocktails were delicious. But our server was inexplicably condescending and hostile from the jump. She frowned at our questions about the cocktail menu, at one point even sneering "You don't know what a French 75 is?" (Should we?). As she cleared the table in front of us, she spilled a ramekin of one of the sauces all over one of my companions, and did a poor job of cleanup and apologizing. Additionally, our experience was mixed with the busser. On one hand, he made pointed comments to us during our dinner to essentially hurry up, even though there were several empty tables around us. On the other, he saw that my cocktail glass was cracked and got me another makeup drink on the house - great heads up move. When we made our complaints to the manager, she failed to make us feel like the situation with her staff would be addressed or improved. It all felt like weird passive-aggressive vibes. Too bad our experience here has ruined A Cote for us in the future. Won't be returning.

Heidi O.

Yelp
Places like this are why I need to venture into the bougie neighborhoods more often. This place had such a nice vibe, which may have been like 50% due to our very patient and friendly server, Maria. Here's what we had: Bottle of Grenache: worth it, 10/10 would drink again Mushroom soup: not insane flavor, but good Khachapuri: ORDER IT if you love bread, cheese, butter, and everything good in this world Burrata: very good, but got totally shown up by the khachapuri Mussels: our 8 year old crushed this, and it was gigantic Pork chop: my dad loved it, especially the bacon cabbage it comes with NY steak: needed salt! My one complaint. The twice baked potato was spiritual though Chocolate mousse: standard but very satisfying We're 100% coming back.

Heather D.

Yelp
We came back for Oakland Restaurant Week. The cocktails were as good as I remember and the selection is nicely varied. We stuck with the prix fixe menu that started with a veggie tarte with small salad. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the tarte had been smaller and the salad larger. This became doubly true when I ordered the main of the cheese sformato which was basically another tarte. The grilled pork tenderloin was a bit unevenly cooked, some bites were nice and tender, others not so much. This dish also came with savory bread pudding that had the texture of, you guessed it, a tarte. Both desserts, the strawberry elderflower parfait and triple chocolate ice cream, were tasty but not complex. All that said, the Friday night mussels and bread were flying out of the kitchen, so maybe that is the way to go.

Trusty D.

Yelp
Haven't been here since before Covid and it has changed, a lot and for the worse. Bartenders doing shots. With the hostess. Bartender eating and blowing his nose behind the bar, in full view. Washed his hands once after blowing his nose on multiple occasions. Food - bland. Bartenders knew nothing about the wine we asked/ordered. Had to navigate on our own. Overall, terrible. Belotti, The Wood Tavern, A16 - all these restaurants are full in Rockridge, now I know why A'Cote was not busy. Won't be coming back again.

yvette c.

Yelp
Service pleasant, food nice. Wine glasses humongous though: hard to bring to mouth. Will continue to patronize.

Yelp
Gayle and I shared a marvelous outdoor meal here with Fern and Don a couple of weeks ago. The outdoor area was well covered, with efficient heaters, good seats, and great service. Gayle and I both had mussels (with a share of fries), which were not only delicious, but featured a somewhat rich buttery broth. Our friends ordered a double cut pork chop and perhaps a pasta dish. And before that for all was a French onion soup starter and wine all around. I was one of those excellent evenings out when service, atmosphere, fine dining, great conversation, and thankful friendships all clicked together.

Yelp
My wife and I worked remotely in Oakland for two weeks in November. We wanted to eat our way through the city, something we do whenever we go on trips. The goal is to visit as many eateries as possible to get a flavor of the city (pun intended). Our VERY foodie friend recommended A Cote to us. Yeah, well, after our first meal here, we were hooked. We've only repeated a restaurant once in our history (Yard Bird in Miami), but before we left the restaurant, we made our next reservation. I was intent on getting their Steak Florentine. We came back and had another fantastic meal. As we were finishing up, the owner came over. He realized the tall bald guy and his blond wife had just been there. He chatted with us, and we told him we were out from NY and appreciated the food and atmosphere (casual, warm, lively, and a place people go for damn good food). A few minutes later, our waiter came over and handed us two glasses of delicious Muscato (dessert wine) and told us it was compliments of the owner. Ha! We left, got in our Uber, and decided to head back *again* on our last night. All three meals were excellent, and we will return! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g32810-d371504-r874449662-A_Cote-Oakland_California.html#

Yelp
Sadly, this location is over priced, hit or miss on the food, and management/staff does not care about guests. This is the email I sent the manager about my recent experience: There were good and bad parts to the experience. The ambiance is great! Very relaxed and romantic. The prices are a bit steep, but the drinks were good and most of the food was good. The biggest issues we had with the food was the fries that came with the mussels were like the size of the tip of my pinky. They were tiny pieces, which made it hard to dip. On the check please bay area show, the fries looked long and easier to grip. The other thing we didn't like and mentioned to our server was the cabbage hash that came with the pork chop was horrible. It had no flavor and we hardly touched it. We thought she would remove it from our bill or offer to cover a dessert instead, but she didn't do anything about it. So, now the next guest will suffer. The pasta was great, however, portion could be larger for price. The last part of our night was the kicker. We were sitting out back with another table and enjoying our time. When we saw that table take off, we left soon after that. As we walked through the dining area where the servers were making silverware wraps, we got some dirty looks. Although we seemed to have been the last ones there, we were not alerted by our server that the restaurant was closing and then we were shamed when we walked through to exit. Not a great end to the night :( I received zero response for 11 days, so I forwarded the email again and asked for a response. One of the managers told me she was sorry I didn't like some of the menu items and she would share it with her colleagues. There was no apology for the way we were treated at the end of the night or actual accountability for what they did. I wrote back that I hope guests would also be treated with kindness and I received no response again. Thus, I felt the need to share what happened for future guests to be aware of. On the Check, Please! Bay Area show, we thought the owners cared about their customers and their community, but it's all fake. Enter at your own risk!

Yelp
Really good food and space. Very friendly staff. Wine selection was good and the cocktails were good as well. Came here on a date and would definitely come back to try the happy hour specials.

Sam S.

Yelp
Excellent! Came here for dinner and shared several different plates. Each was delicious. The fries, wedge salad, and mezze platter were all great as appetizers. For main courses, loved both the rockfish and the pork souvlaki. But the standout was the nectarine and prosciutto flatbread, which was fantastic. Perfectly ripe and juicy nectarines, with ample cheese a nice bit of saltiness from the prosciutto. The creme brulee, which comes with nice little almond cookies, was great as a dessert.

Alexis M.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday night with my friend and was pleasantly surprised to learn they had happy hour Tuesday-Thursday 5-7 so we tried the Pommes Frites and mussels and enjoyed two glasses of the house red! We were seated indoors which had a pretty intimate setting with dark lighting and Antique decor! The fries were crunchy, thin and well seasoned but I wished they had a better sauce to go with it as the mayo aioli could have been better. The mussels were amazing and fresh and I loved the garlicky sauce on it. Very good portion to share. For dinner, I had the Mafaldine pasta with pesto and broccoli! It was a tasty pasta dish with fried Pistachio and I thought the broccoli pesto sauce was unique. Overall, this place left my stomach full and happy and I hope to come back for another happy hour in the future!

Yelp
Amazing. Thoughtfully made seasonal yummy delicious food. Textures are always balanced, flavor is fun and fully present. Love the ambience of the inside, they always play great music not very loud. Service has always been spot on.

Yelp
When does a restaurant transition from hot upstart to amazing standard-setter? When I think of A Cote, I've been around long enough to remember when it was hip enough to warrant mention in the New York Times. But now it has aged into a outstanding classic-- to me it brings to mind Zuni Cafe in San Francisco. Like other classics, the food is outstanding, the service friendly and welcoming and excellent, and the atmosphere timeless. That's A Cote, and Rockridge is very lucky to have this restaurant.

Yelp
Great first experience at A Cote! Came here for Happy Hour (tues - thurs 5pm-7pm). I was thinking they wouldn't allow reservations for HH, but they do! So easy to make online. Request patio seating in the back, much cuter than the parklet outdoor seating in the front. Note--if eating indoors you need to prove you've been vaccinated. HH is one deal--$35 for 2 glasses of House Wine (or beer) and a big bowl of mussels, with some bread, and huge bowl of frites!! This was an amazing deal and so yummy. You can actually split the HH deal, so for 3 people we got 2 of the deals and split. We also got a side of roasted vegetables which were fine. Service was fine, they were pretty busy but server was nice. They did charge us for an extra glass of wine that was later corrected. Would recommend!

Yelp
Had a fabulous dinner here with friends and we were all so impressed by the service and food. The hostess was very understanding when an Uber issue resulted in our party being a little late. Our waitress could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The Chop Salad, Flatbread and Papardelle were delicious and I would order them all again.

Yelp
The mussels, pomme frites, the SERVICE, the wine...oh, and did I mention the mussels??? I've been here twice and had wonderful food and dining experience each time. A friend of mine raves about this place for YEARS. Finally, tried them on a surprise visit with her, and I understand why she RAVED! The mussels are absolutely delicious! Along with the french fries, it's a meal on its own. I could just eat those two with a good glass of wine. I appreciate their drink a list, but particularly the uniqueness of the wine list. Rarely have I seen an "orange" wine. They have a beautiful, full bar. The patrons/customer service is always top-notch. Everyone is friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I already have a reservation to return with new friends next month. Yes...its that good.

Yelp
Always delicious-always romantic & fun-always the best mussels & fries. I have lived this place forever. I am not always fond of their wine selection but I forget about that soon after starting to eat. The service is gracious.

Yelp
Amazing food! Everything was seasoned well and cooked well. Decor was very quaint but the heat lamps can get quite warm if you are wearing a lot. Servers were attentive and followed up often.

Yelp
This place has been around for eva because the food is good and expensive. Everything I have tasted is good. The meal is served family style, so lots of sharing. This is my mom's favorite special restaurant in the Oakland. I will always come back because of that.

Yelp
Took my mom and dad here for dinner and we really enjoyed it. The food and service were really good, although I felt the wine list could have been better for something which fuses different European dishes. Overall, definitely would come back and I can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a dinner date, or if you need to take your parents somewhere.

Yelp
Had a pretty pleasant experience here, the food was great and the ambiance of the outside dining patio area was very nice as well but the service wasn't the best. Overall it was a good experience and I have returned here a few times, they have a Wed special of muscles and fries that's a pretty good deal. Be careful with parking though, they are sticklers around here and the signs can be a bit confusing.
