"Diners are escorted past the open kitchen into the airy room drenched in natural light and dotted by pops of blue, perfect for business meeting or social gatherings. Set menus featuring premium beef cuts from the U.S. and Australia are served at lunch and dinner. The signature "A Cut" steak, a ribeye cap with even marbling and a tender texture, is the stellar choice. Oenophiles will be thrilled by rare vintages from Bordeaux and Burgundy on offer." - Michelin Inspector

Everything in the dinner was perfect from the food to the wine pairing as well as the service and the atmosphere. An all round awesome experience. The tartare, the bisque, the 80-days ribeye or the cheese platter. And have a chat with the sommelier, he is a fountain of knowledge and gave excellent advice.

The food and service are excellent. I particularly appreciate how they serve the wagyu with Japanese rice and a selection of dipping sauces, which sets it apart from other traditional steakhouses. However, the server appeared to be unfamiliar with the details of the dishes when we inquired about the differences between the course options.

I'm Hope!

I came here for the Christmas lunch with my wife, the dish was really good, the steak was amazing. We had a great time in the restaurant, and we look forward to visiting again!

Since A Cut Steakhouse moved to its new location, I had been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to savor its Michelin-starred steaks again. Today at lunch, I finally got the chance to experience it. Firstly, the new location is very convenient, and the ambiance and decor are excellent, creating an elegant and comfortable dining environment. The steak, as always, was of high quality, perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. The overall taste of the meal was outstanding, making it a delightful experience for the taste buds. However, the dining experience was not perfect. The attitude of the staff was disappointing; they lacked the expected friendliness and smiles, making me feel like I owed them money. Additionally, after the neighboring table finished their meal, the staff immediately started cleaning, which is normal. But they sprayed a cleaning agent or alcohol-like substance while holding their hands high, completely disregarding other diners. This not only disrupted the dining atmosphere but also caused the unknown liquid to drift onto our table, which was quite uncomfortable. I strongly suggest the management review the surveillance footage to assess the service behavior around 2:40 PM on 05/24/2024. Overall, the food at A Cut Steakhouse is still worth recommending, but I hope the management will take steps to improve the quality of service, ensuring that customers can enjoy both great food and a pleasant dining experience.

A Michelin star restaurant that lives up to expectations. Food, service and atmosphere are all first rate. Location is convenient. Great for lunch or dinner. Not easy to reserve but definitely will come again!

We had been there many times to celebrate birthdays and food itself keeps the standard. The vibe of the restaurant is good but somehow we could feel the service attendants were professional but rushed to finish their tasks. Everything was as expected, but no outstanding or wow dishes

I've been here in 2016, 2018, and most recently 2024. First two times were when it was still embedded within the hotel, now they are a standalone restaurant. It's become somewhat of a tradition for my father and I to come here whenever I visit home. In prior years, everything was excellent. However, most recently we had a less than satisfactory experience. We ordered the 600g 30-day dry aged Australian wagyu bone-in ribeye, medium rare. When served, only about 2/3rds of the meat was from the proper ribeye cut. The remaining third was various fat and extra trimmings overcooked (well done) as individual strips and then arranged around the actual smaller ribeye. The ribeye tasted great, perfect medium rare, but the trimmings were just chewy jerky. The restaurant comped part of the meal when we complained, and plus due to past good experience, I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3. When you go, do examine your steak for any cheap cost cutting, and send it back if so. A steakhouse should have stellar steak for all cuts, always. The starters, soup, and dessert were all delicious. I particularly liked the mushroom "cappuccino" (soup) which was both comfortable and complex. The lobster had lots of the grill smoke & char flavor imparted throughout.

This restaurant is by far one of the best steak places we've tried in Taipei. We've been to the two famous ones around Taipei 101 but we felt more delighted with their steaks and other dishes here. We recommend ordering the tasting menu for two (2) since ordering ala carte might even cost you more. Then again, if you want to taste other steaks then their lunch and dinner sets come with appetizers, desserts and drinks anyway. Their menu has English and you can pay cash or by using any local or foreign debit or credit card.

Yelp
This is the first time I visited A Cut after it moved to its new location. I was so disappointed with their service and food quality. This is not the A Cut I had before. Two of us arrived early and waited in a private room without service for 30 minutes. The steak served with a half-heated plate. When I asked nicely, the waitress rudely answered "it's supposed to be that way." I don't think I should be charged so much for such lousy foods and service. Most waiters and waitresses are new faces. I guess the chef has also been changed as well. I was so disappointed and will not go back again. Don't go there for steak. There are so many better and cheaper places.

Yelp
This place was on renovation for a while and finally I got to try the steak here when they reopen. My mom has been raving about the steak here. The decor and interior of this place was just gorgeous. It is elegant and modern. It also got this open kitchen which was quite cool. As for food, I got dinner set menu. Appetizer: I got seared foie gras. What can I say? Its so rich and buttery, I just could not get enough of it and the size was actually generous! Entree: I got Omigyu Rib Eye Steak. OMG it is to die for. Steak was full of marble and it just melt in your mouth once you took a bite. I LOVE it! It came with whole garlic on the side. I also got truffle mac n cheese and sweet corn on the side and both are amazing. Dessert: Chocolate Souffle, it was still hot when they serve which was great. I love that once you scoop on the cake, chocolate just leak out. Chef also prepared complimentary trays of petite dessert which I enjoyed a lot! I def had a great meal and wonderful time with my family here and looking forward to come back!

Yelp
A Cut is certainly deserving of being mentioned when talking about best steakhouses in Taipei, emphasis on "in Taipei". I started with an onion soup, which was completely lacking in flavor and heat--it was bland and almost lukewarm. Really disappointing, especially since it looked so much better than it tasted. The only good part of my dinner was the steak (thank god). The A Cut is on the fattier side with good marbling. If you like leaner cuts, I would recommend the dry aged. As always, enjoyed the really well-made garlic that melts in your mouth. The service can be improved, they are friendly but not attentive enough for a restaurant of this caliber. Really slow in delivering dishes ..

Yelp
Bloggers, Yelpers and foodies all agree that A-cut is, without a doubt, top 3 best steak houses in Taipei. Located in the basement level of the Ambassador Hotel, A-cut has no outside store sign and not even a directory inside lobby telling you where it's located. Exclusive. When you enter the B1 level and into A-cut's entrance, you notice the very elaborate wine cellar and the rather small open kitchen. The place has approximately 3-5 VIP rooms and the outside seating area probably sits around 100 patrons. Service is top notch, every server knows how to explain the menu as well as making suggestions. We were in a private room and it seemed the servers had a count down of how often they would come in to fill water and check for empty plates. Safe to say my water glass was never empty! For dinner, everything is a set meal so you must order appetizer + soup OR salad + entree + dessert + drink. I got scallops, caesar salad, shared the two person rib-eye steak, chocolate (something) for dessert and hot tea. Fair warning for the caesar, it has TWO romaine heads (uncut) and could probably feed two. All in all, all of our food was made to perfection. At the end of the day, we also got complimentary dessert in forms of hand made small cookies, jello and chocolate crisp bits! Free food from such a high end restaurant? Either I don't spend enough on my own trips to high end places or this just doesn't happen often. Highly recommend for that special occasion or when your boss says he's treating the team for dinner ;).

Yelp
One of my few 5 star ratings. Dry aged steak, if you like this kind of meat, this place is still one of my top places to go. Excellent service, refined decor and overall always a pleasant experience to go. Dry aged steak- you just gotta try it, recommend 60 days and up.

Yelp
I went with a friend to celebrate. The both of us ordered steak entree which was delicious, especially the garlic on the side to go with the steak. We ordered a bottle of red wine but the thing is, they didn't let us wine taste it before so when we were served with the red wine, it wasn't good at all and it costed 2400NT!! The appetizer was great, fresh hotate grilled just right. However, the dinner came to an almost 10,000NT which was beyond what we expected. It was really delicious, but next time we are making sure our wallets fat enough for this meal!

Yelp
Located in the basement of the Ambassador Hotel this place will rock your socks off. I typically don't eat steak that often in Taiwan because it is quite difficult to find an establishment selling quality beef. Or worse yet, a steak restaurant that overcooks their meat. And there is nothing worse than eating overcooked meat. A-Cut Steakhouse on the other hand only uses quality, top grade beef that is cooked to perfection. I brought my wife here for her last birthday and we both had a great time. The restaurant features a variety of different cuts of beef from the many parts of the cow. All of the selections were either from the US or Australia. What was really cool about this place was not just that the steak was absolutely amazing but that they let you try a variety of different salts to pair with your meal. Keep in mind this is not for a casual dining experience. The prices here run steep so dress nice and be prepared to drop a small fortune.

Yelp
I recently had a b-day party here, it is probably the BEST steakhouse in Taipei! From the AMAZING food to the AWARDS winning wine to the AMAZING services, and inviting warm ambiance (they recently remodeled to keep up with the dining expectations) you'll get your money worth it! I was lucky enough had the private dining room for my b-day, which come with the lovely and attentive services of George, he's the manager of the restaurant. His knowledges in the steaks & wines will make you enjoy your dining experiences there with your friends and not worry about which wine paired with which dishes you selects. All their steaks are aged minimum of 28 days, more depend on the cuts of meats. Seafood are also super fresh! George recommended them, So I ordered the surf & turf combo! The side dishes are generous portions, my favorite is the truffle Mac & cheese! My favorite dessert is the chestnut soufflé, which I been told was cooked in a special oven for soufflé only, so no wonder it was so fluffy and fragrant and velvety, I highly recommend this dessert! While we were dining, the wait staff that was serving us were so attentive and wonderful! They even recommended us which salts to try with our steak! They also speak English as well if you don't speak Mandarin like I do! All and all, it was a WONDERFUL dining experience, I would HIGHLY recommend you make a reservation for you next gathering here, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Best and most expensive steak I have ever eaten in my life. And i'm from America. This place is amazing, it's a proper steak, high class service, they speak english. Great wine selection. This place had a romantic western setting. If you're feeling fancy and are having one last steak THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! I think everyone should try it at least once while in Taiwan.

Yelp
I am actually not much of a beef/steak fanatic. But I heard this place is one of the top 5 steakhouses in Taipei. I took my family here one night for a special birthday for my grandmother. We ordered a few appetizers and sides including mashed potatoes, Cauliflower au gratin, and sauteed mushrooms. We ordered a few steak meals, all came with a nice big grilled garlic that just melts into your mouth. The mashed potatoes were rich and creamy and not too heavy, the perfect combination in each scoop, and believe me..I had quite a few scoops. The sauteed mushrooms were to die for. Sauteed in some sort of garlic or brown butter sauce, and cooked just right, not too soft and overcooked and not to under. The steak itself did melt right into my mouth, but still not much a fan, so I ate the entire garlic clove instead! For dessert we ordered the cheese souffles. The layer of cake itself was moist and buttery, then add the cheese/cream sauce to add inside in addition, omg. Quite an amazing dessert, not overly sweet, and the hot sauce really melts the entire cake. Go try this place out!
