The Best Bakeries In Philadelphia

"Chinatown’s A La Mousse specializes in cakes that look like they're ready for prom photos. We usually order the triple chocolate mousse and the Hokkaido cheesecake, but pretty much any mousse- or custard-filled dessert you get here will be excellent. Remember this place the next time you want to outdo everyone at a potluck, or when you’re looking for something other than Federal Donuts to bring to a party. " - candis mclean, alison kessler

EVERYONE wanted to be here. The food was cute. The price was a little pricey, but you are paying for the show. The drink was DEFINITELY worth the price. The food was good and the experience was worth the price as well. Order and sit because the seats fill quickly. It was a bit hot. It was weird seasonly which is why they might have not had the AC on.

Google
The service was great, everyone was pleasant and the presentation of the food was great. We got 2 mouse cakes and 2 slices, and one tea. the tea was great as well as the mouse, such fun flavors and designs to choose from. The cakes were less enjoyable than the mousse but still unique flavors and textures worth trying. A bit pricey but i expected as much.

제이미Jamie

Google
The cakes are not overly sweet. They are fluffy, creamy, and not heavy! They recently started having some ventilation issue (I started noticing some smell from the bathroom recently). It has gotten better in my last visit but if you are sensitive to smell you might prefer to do a take out than dine in

Google
Visited this cafe for the first time today after hearing about it on TikTok, I’m so glad I did!! The tea and desserts offered are delicious. I’ve had many rose milk teas around the Chinatown area, and this is by far my favorite. The mousse desserts are cute, yummy, and a good price. I’m excited to come back here soon with my wife to try the tea time set 💕

Kathryn Fox

Google
The dessert was good. The tea was pretty standard. It also was packed in there. Would recommend for the experience, and to try. Would find another spot for regular visitation.

Google
Great desserts at an elevated price, but soooo worth it. The place is small and can get loud but we had such a nice experience and can’t wait to try more of their amazing desserts.

Google
This Mango dessert is rich with textures, and a very mild sweetness. The shell is made of white chocolate. The inside consists of Mango Ice Cream, Mango sprinkled with cinnamon, and a thin cake base. My favorite part of this dessert is the Ice-Cream aspect of it. Although, it’s not as sweet as ice cream typically is, it compliments the subtle flavors of the dessert. The Mango- flavor profile is extremely light. Even with the mango inside, the dessert doesn’t taste much like mango. There’s more of a light vanilla flavor with a hint of mango. That could possibly be due to Mangos not being in season right now, so they’re not as pungent as usual. My suggestion would be to work on the mango flavoring, as it almost doesn’t taste like Mango at all. Maybe, add in a Mango Puree to keep the juices incorporated throughout the entire dessert. Overall - 6.5/10 Aside from that, their service, presentation, and atmosphere was 5/5. I was seated & served quickly. Establishment is very clean & well kept. I will be back to review other desserts! Follow @citycriticfiles on IG to see more reviews!

Google
I came here a few times in the past with friends, but honestly the desserts are just so so. I ordered a hazelnut mousse cake and a milk foam rose iced tea. The tea was amazing but I can’t say the same for the desserts honestly. The mango ice cream was okay but the hazelnut mousse cake lacked hazelnut flavor and felt sickening after a few bites. The portions of the desserts are good though. My plate came with these crunchy foam things and they did not taste good. I understand if it’s for garnishing but it’s impossible to avoid because they stick to everything. I left a good tip for the sweet server and lovely takeout guy but honestly I don’t think I would come back for the high price. Plus 1 star for the amazing staff. I live far away and it’s hard to justify. If you want great tasting desserts at a similar price try Prince tea just around the block.

Yelp
Cute little European asian dessert place. The place gets free advertisements as you see people walking around chinatown with their cute little sleeping bear or other eye catching desserts and you ask where they come from. This is the first euro asian dessert place in Chinatown in a sea of Chinese Hong Kong like bakeries. There are a lot of bubble tea shops and shaved ice places but this place is reminescent of the Korean European bakeries you find in other parts of town. It is modern and popular, but not overly priced to where you felt intimidated. It is kind of assuming as it is being surrounded by construction but the shop is definitely busy. We came here because Mango mango down the street was getting absolutely crushed with waiting lines so long that you'd be lucky to eat your dessert by midnight. Flavors were good- we got more chocolatey desserts. Each were solid in flavor, quality, and definitely not some small flimsy dessert. You will be pretty full after one dessert. The environment is warm, humble, but bright. The space is very small so anticipate either a crowded space to hang out or be prepared to take your goods to the street. they do sell whole cakes here and I definitely would consider buying one here if I had to.

Yelp
I stopped by A La Mousse on Sunday, September 15, 2024, around 7:20 PM. This tiny café is nestled in the bustling Chinatown area. We were fortunate to snag a table just as a group of four was leaving. A La Mousse specializes in tea and desserts, and all their treats not only taste amazing but also look adorable. We ordered the Mango Mousse, Tangerine Cheesecake, Earl Cyclone, and Bunny Vanilla Mousse. Everything was delicious, but my favorite was definitely the Mango Mousse--creamy with a delightful mango flavor and a crunchy layer on the outside. The presentation of each dessert was stunning, making it almost too pretty to eat! I really enjoyed my experience here, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Philly's Chinatown. Just keep in mind that the small café has very limited seating, so it might be tough to find a table on weekends or busy nights.

Yelp
Located in Chinatown Philly, this cute little bakery serves up beautiful pastries. The ordering process; however, is confusing. After standing in line, we were told that to dine in we needed to grab a seat and wait for a server to take our order. Rather than wait even longer, we elected to take it to go. It's unclear to me, but I think you only get the scoop of ice cream with the dessert if you dine in. We had the chocolate bear and the yuzu cheesecake. Both were delicious! The cheesecake was refreshing and light.

Yelp
Came across to this small cozy modern French-Asian sweets on 11th Street in Chinatown Philly opened in 2015. Best known for their Matcha desserts. I haven't try their Matcha desserts yet, Ordered a few desserts & a drink. - Pomegranate Strawberry Lemonade Tea the drink wasn't to sweet and flavors pair up so perfectly well. Boyfriend drank most of them - Lychee Panna Cotta super creamy and light on every bite. - Mango Mousse Cake [A sweet delicate white chocolate spray covers a mango mousse, layer of diced mango lime jam in the middle] - Tangerine Cheesecake [Tangerine cheesecake, layers blood orange cream and tangerine pudding.] Everything was delicious not to sweet and the flavors were just dancing on my tongue. On every bite you taste the fruits. They also have some gluten free desserts. Definitely check it out if you're in the area The staff were super friendly and even brought my desserts and drink to the table.

Yelp
We come like everyday and they're always pleasant and an absolute delight. I feel like ordering drinks at the restaurant gives much more volume than to-go.

Yelp
This is simply the cutest little tea shop with the most aesthetic desserts ever! We came here as a group of 7 on a busy Friday evening, yet they were able to help us with fitting everyone in. The place was extremely packed, but the staff were extremely accessible, communicative and overall, just incredible. Each and every one of the desserts we got was incredible and I highly recommend trying a couple while you're here. The teas were also great and the little cups they came in absolutely adorable! This is a wonderful option if you're looking for a cute catch up date or hang out with friends!

Yelp
Such a cute little shop! I saw they had so many cute little cakes for sale. My friend got me a vanilla cake with strawberries inside tonight. The cake I got was super cute, and the cake was moist and delicious! The icing and cream wasn't too sweet, so it was perfect for me. However, the strawberries were frozen, so it did feel super hard and cold to bite into. The girls at the counter were quick with the service and very friendly. I can't comment on pricing, since it was purchased by a friend, but we all enjoyed the cake.

Yelp
This cafe is so cute with the best tasting cakes that aren't too sweet! I love the matcha tiramisu and get it almost every time I go. This time we also tried the hazelnut chocolate cake which had a super crunchy crispy bottom that was delicious. The desserts are also really shareable and most come with ice cream. Highly recommend!

Yelp
lovely find at Chinatown in Philly! Staff was warm, friendly and was patient with our questions! Lots of desserts to choose from but the earl gray mousse and matcha dessert caught our attention and so we went with that. Everything was delicious! The mousse was nice, fluffy-silky and had that perfect flavor and texture. I could definitely get that early gray taste on the cyclone and the plating was a bonus! Staff was kind enough to let us get ready to take a video of the sizzling matcha "ala mode"! love the warmth of the brownie and coolness of matcha icecream combined. Although the place looked small on the outside it was actually nice and spacious as soon as you step in. Smart use of space really, even the restroom was nicely thought of. So happy we got to visit and had a wonderful time! Only regret was I didnt get anything to-go!

Yelp
One of the best dessert shops in Philly. An upscale, sit down bakery that serves cute Asian desserts that are very unique! Cashier was very nice. My family and I opted for take out and we ordered 5 macarons for $18. The flavors we got were matcha, mango, raspberry, and chocolate. We loved them all. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What's not to say about this amazing dessert place ?? Sweets are impeccable both in taste and presentation, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the coffee/matcha is to die for. They also offer a tea set for 2 or 4 where they bring out a whole assortment of crepe cakes and sweets along tea. We decided to split a pineapple/mango cheesecake with was accompanied with ice cream and some strawberries. We only ordered one because we knew that we would finish two had we ordered it lol the place itself is cozy and I can see why people spend hours here. The latte was delicious and the art on the matcha latte was cute too!

Yelp
Cute little cafe with pastries and cute cakes, great for a little sweet treat. Staff is super nice. We got the tangerine cheesecake and it looks super cute. The cake was average tbh. The mango ice cream it came with was absolutely delicious though and probably the best part of the dish. It also comes resting on some sort of granola base and that too was really yummy. As I said, the cake bit is not that exciting. Overall, quite cute experience, great ambiance. You don't feel rushed despite how busy it constantly is and it is just a nice place to rest and get a snack. Prices are a little steep for what it is though.

Yelp
I have a huuuuge heart for Asian-style/inspired desserts because they're often cute, unique, and not too sweet! A la mousse hits all of those points which is why I always MUST drop in every time we hit Philadelphia for dinner! It's a very small, very cute and quaint cafe with a decent selection of Asian inspired desserts and flavors like matcha, lychee, ube, mango etc infused with classic flavors as well. Everything I've had there is absolutely delicious. And presentation is always worth the social media post! That being said, the small space and staff size is probably it's only drawback. It's very popular for good reason, especially late in the evening as it's one of the very few dessert places open late (till 12am on some nights!) so the line is very long, the store is very small and the wait times as a result are quite lengthy. I don't often plan on being seated here as it's often crowded during the later hours. However, since I'm obsessed with how delicious everything is I always go in for a to go order. Certainly worth the wait (like 20-30 minutes in line, I'm just inpatient when it comes to sweets) I just wish they had more seating and space. Guess I'll have to keep pouring my money into them so they can upgrade should they choose to one day
google avatar

Yelp
The most delicious and beautiful desserts you'll ever find in Philadelphia. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the store ambiance is very serene. You might just end up taking a ton of pictures of the desserts ;)

Yelp
**Update** Food and Drink Ordered: * worth trying - [Green Tea-ra-misu]: In denser desserts like tiramisu, I like an opposing flavor to cut the sweetness and richness. In this instance, I was hoping that the bitterness of the matcha would help but there wasn't much matcha flavor in general. The salted caramel pretzel ice cream helped but this was still too dense for my taste and, even though I shared it with my sister, I wish we had a third person to split it with. - [Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk]: This tasted ok. The oat milk watered down the taste of the matcha. I would choose the Matcha Almond Milk Latte over this. - [Pomegranate Strawberry Lemonade Tea]: This also tasted ok. A little sweet and artificial but not too sweet. -[Matcha Mousse Cake*]: Not the best matcha dessert I've ever had but, overall, I thought it was pleasant. Because I had this dessert dining in, I had it with a scoop of matcha ice cream, which was honestly the star of the whole dessert. I believe they carry Bassetts Ice Cream. -[Matcha Mango Latte]: I think I like the idea of a matcha mango latte but I think the flavor of bright, tart mango competes too much with the earthier, subdued flavor of the matcha. -[Matcha Almond Milk Latte]: This tastes better than the Iced Matcha Latte with Oat Milk but doesn't taste any more special than the instant matcha latte powder I have at home. - [Sizzling Ice Cream]: Definitely more for the gimmick and the Instagram video because the server pours the matcha sauce over the dessert to activate the sizzle of the hot cast iron. I thought that the matcha brownie was too dense and as the ice cream on top melts more, the brownie soaks up all that liquid to make it even denser. - [Matcha Lava Cake*]: Out of all the matcha desserts I've tried at A La Mousse, this is definitely the best and good in its own right. The dessert is well balanced and all of the components come together to give you the matcha flavor you wanted. Well worth the 20-25 minute wait. - [Mango Mille Crepe*]: Not too sweet. A good ratio of crepe to cream. I like the jelly layer on top, which gives a bit of tartness to the dessert. Would I go back? : Maybe. Since my last review, I've gone back to A La Mousse several times with friends and tried more of their matcha items. But I still stand by my previous opinion that A La Mousse is more memorable in looks but not necessarily memorable in taste. It seems like they no longer sell the Pink Guava Fruit Tea, which is a shame because that was one of the best items they sold. My friends and I usually end up at A La Mousse because it's one of the few desserts places that are open late and has seating to hang out but we should probably branch out and go somewhere else that serves better items.

Yelp
Despite its quaint appearance and compact seating area, the offerings here lean more toward understated sophistication than sheer sweetness. The desserts play it cool -- light, layered, and rarely overwhelming. I sampled a slice with a curious mix of vanilla and fresh fruit, though the berries had clearly spent too much time chilling in the back, giving them the texture of small ice cubes. Service was brisk and efficient, with the staff maintaining a fine balance between hospitality and speed. A noteworthy pitstop if you appreciate subtle, minimally sweet confections.

Yelp
Cute pastry shop with gorgeous desserts. Some are too pretty to eat. Minimum $10 credit card spend.

Yelp
Super cute and aesthetic Asian dessert house and non-alcoholic drink spot. This kind of reminds me of Shilla back home, but ten times smaller and a little bit more modern. I love the fact that this spot is open late -- it's a great alternative to the bar for sober folks and allows people to have good conversation around some dessert and tea. We got an oreo milkshake (I would skip, it is super icy), hot cocoa, a panda dessert cake (tasted as good as it looks!), and a matcha latte (also very good). Service was okay and the area was a little cramped. You can order to go items at the check out counter or sit down at a table for full service. To pay, you go to the check out counter. I thought that they could have done a better job of explaining this as it is not super intuitive.

Yelp
Came here for some post-dinner dessert. Food: 4 Decor: 3 Service: 4 Brown Bear $9.50 Chocolate mousse, layer orange cream with hazelnut chocolate cake ~4/5. Don't recall the taste being particularly memorable, but the brown bear face presentation was pretty cute. Worth getting if you're looking for a nice chocolate mousse to share. Service was fine. Basic cafe decor with a few tables for seating. Parking was a bit of a pain since there's limited street parking.

Yelp
Came here twice in my 5-day trip to Philly. It wasn't very busy on a Thursday late afternoon, but was hopping on weekend nights with college students on dates and hanging out in groups. Cute decor and even cuter desserts. They have macarons and cakes and drinks--I enjoyed the bunny dessert, special Hot Cherry Blossom espresso Latte, and Matcha Mousse Cake--they have a lot of cherry blossom drinks and matcha desserts! Service is okay--it's students. There's quite a few outlets if you want to camp out and do work (and free Wifi.)

Yelp
A La Mousse is one of the first food spots I went to as a freshman in college. It is really nice to see that it is still very clean and thriving as a business. I never tried their drinks but am so glad I did. The Milk Foam Matcha Tea is absolutely divine! The milk foam did not disrupt my stomach and the matcha was not grainy at all. Will come back when I am in Chinatown next. Dropping two stars because of service...a young man took our table. Long past the drinks were served for the table, the dessert never arrived. I went up to the young man who was texting away and asked him what the status of the dessert was. He said it was coming and the kitchen was working on it. The desserts are already made sitting in the glass case! I walked back to our table, only to see the young man pull the dessert out of the glass case! There is no reason to lie that you forgot. We also had to ask for the check and when we received the check, it was the wrong one.

Yelp
Went on a massive dessert crawl Friday night date night. Pit stop here and was recommended to get the dragon roll, hazelnut crunch and I tried the Ferrero cake slice too. Since I love some crunchy chocolatey mousse cakes. Great place to try different fun desserts. Super cute ones for the kids, or kid in you too. Was curious about the yuzu cheesecake and other cheesecakes but the staff was like eh it's ok not the best compared to what I was already choosing. Would be interested to try the mango mousse crepe layered cake sometime too

Yelp
came with a friend on Thanksgiving, and we're so glad we stopped by! The service was amazing, the girl who took our dine-in order was super sweet, and there were many cute pastries available. We got the Earl Grey Cyclone, iced tiramisu latte, and hot cherry blossom latte. Earl Grey Cyclone: perfectly light, creamy, and not too sweet! The earl grey flavor came through so well and paired nicely with raspberry, which offered a perfect touch of tartness. The cheesecake-like crust at the bottom was also delicious. Iced tiramisu latte: also not that sweet but still flavorful; coffee was strong and came with a layer of chocolate, cream, and a cookie. Cherry blossom latte: seems not to be caffeinated, as it was pink and just tasted (artificially) sweet and milky. It was warm and a good hot drink to try if you prefer something sweet and fragrant. Ambiance was clean and cozy -- a great place for groups, duos, or even studying. Thank you A La Mousse!

Yelp
Good drinks, cool, selection of pastries The ones that look really fancy are OK , the shortcake was also a little dry but the drinks were good and it's a cool cozy vibe. The place is pretty small though

Yelp
I'm so glad we found this place! I am obsessed! We even went two days in a row! I got a few desserts and they were amazing. I tried their milk foam drink and that was so delicious. I'm definitely coming back when I visit Philly!

Yelp
Philly is hot and humid during the summer. Hopped in the car with my niece, her husband and my sisters and headed to Chinatown for an iced drink. On my nephew's list of coffee places to try was A La Mousse. On a Sunday early evening, the city itself wasn't busy but finding parking is a bit of a challenge. We ended up parking a few blocks away. It was a nice little surprise to walk in to see a deli case filled with desserts! And the cafe was a little busy with the large table for 6 filled and three other little tables. Nice to know that friends and families enjoy hanging out here. The staff was very helpful as we had questions about the drinks available. And, it didn't take long for drinks to arrive. I was especially impressed with my drink as it was a gorgeous layer of rose and matcha green tea. I was sad to have to mix it up. And to our surprise, my nephew ordered a dessert with 5 spoons for us try. Had I known, I would've suggested we all order one so we had 5 different desserts to try. Although it was a quick visit to this establishment, I was impressed. 5-stars for this A La Mousse experience.

Yelp
The dessert here never fails to be spectacular. They're not too sweet, but are still very satisfying. The drinks are delicious as well! The Caramel Chocolate Mousse was very rich, but worth getting! Everything we had was delicious, and they have a decent amount of seating inside. We went on a Saturday night around 8pm, and it was pretty crowded but we did manage to find a table for 10. They were very attentive, even with a large group. Definitely would recommend!

Yelp
I was informed that the mango crepe was one of their top sellers, but its taste didn't meet my expectations. I was surprised to find that the filling was solely cream, without any mango as anticipated, which left me disappointed. However, I'm interested in returning to sample their strawberry shortcake, as it looked enticing. Overall, the mango crepe didn't win me over, but I'm eager to explore other options on their menu.

Yelp
We're always looking for cool coffee and dessert places and A La Mousse fits the bill. The outside of the building was nothing remarkable but it was bright, clean, and spacious on the inside. The dessert displays are very well done and there are a lot of options. The cappuccino worked and the chocolate dessert we tried had a lovely texture and was not too sweet. There was a continuous stream of people stopping in for desserts and drinks while we were there. We would definitely return.

Yelp
Perfect matcha oat milk lattes! Gorgeous cakes and individual slices, macarons, tiramisu cups etc. They usually have a really great selection, although the cakes by the slice are pricey (think $8.50) but definitely large enough to share. I wish they had more larger-sized cakes to purchase is my only quibble. This is a hopping place on the weekends with college aged kids hanging out & doing their social media thing. My 9 year old LOVES visiting here, it's all very kawaii. I'm happy just to get my legit matcha fix.

Yelp
A la mousse wonderful bakery and cafe with drinks. Large assortment of sweet treats to choose from, as well as a very long list of drinks to customize. Presentation is #1 here as soon as you walk in, it is very welcoming. Small cafe vibe, and the staff are friendly. All drinks and treats are very aesthetically pleasing, and the taste is great as well. Not the best baked good, but very high quality nonetheless and the appearance amplifies. Thanks

Yelp
I was craving sweet and stumbled across this hidden gem in Philly's China Town. It clearly was my lucky night. This place was bustling too so I had a feeling it was going to be heaven. I ordered the a decaf White Mocha Vanilla Latte, Pink Love, and the Polar Bear. I was practically licking the plate and my cup of Java. This was the perfect place to have dessert after dinner.

Yelp
I'm not usually a sweets fan, but this dessert completely changed my mind! The salted caramel pretzel ice cream was paired perfectly with the hazelnut mousse and chocolate cake! One of my favorite bakeries in Philly! It's a must try stop for me when I'm in the area

Yelp
A La Mousse is a perfect way to spend an hour or two for a cozy Sunday activity. There are two fairly distinct experiences at this place. The first is counter service where you can order drinks and limited desserts. The other is full service sitting down where you can order the full menu. The desserts are some of the most beautiful, carefully constructed dishes I've ever seen. The aesthetic is off the charts. There's less sugar than most American style desserts and they make a point of emphasizing this, so even though I'm not a big fan of sweets, I've really enjoyed the balanced flavors a la mousse offers. In particular the bitter flavors of their matcha and chocolate/hazelnut plates pair so well with sweetness! I'd definitely recommend a matcha dessert for first timers. The drinks are equally beautiful. You can also get pearls added to most teas if you're craving boba. For drinks, the value is definitely in the French teapots, which they will refill for you periodically. The crew is usually just two people, one at the counter, one on tables. The counter turnover is fast and efficient. Tables are the way to go if you're looking to relax, sip a drink, and sit for a while. Everything is made when it's ordered so it can be 10ish min before orders are ready. The service is consistently excellent, and they do not hurry you out at all - when things are slow, I've stayed for hours drinking tea and reading a good book. Others sometimes set up laptops for work here too. The servers are really kind and friendly! There aren't a ton of tables so sometimes it can be difficult to get a seat, but most of them turn over relatively fast. I could see during peak hours it being hard to sit. The atmosphere is generally medium quiet. There is a lot of in and out at counter service. Perfect for a first date or a date where you're trying to impress someone, particularly because everything is so instagrammable. Also great for curling up and relaxing for a few hours on a Sunday. I could also see coming here after a big dinner in Chinatown and relaxing over a pot of tea and maybe some mousse before bed. Can't recommend enough!

Yelp
Prices were maybe $1 more than I would have liked, or else I wish the portions were slightly larger. However the two mousse cakes I got were absolutely delicious. The tangerine was creamy and slightly tart, the earl gray one was very smooth but I wish the flavor has been stronger.

Yelp
Was nearby for dinner and found this little hidden gem for dessert. Omg, everything is super cute AND delicious! Definitely IG worthy shop. Inside is quite small so we did a to-go order and the pieces stayed intact. I would love to return!!

Yelp
Cute cozy dessert cafe with plenty of seating. They have teas, coffees, latte and lots of adorably cute pastries on display. They have pastries in the shape of peaches, tigers, bunnies, bears, and lots of other fun shapes. They also have adorable holiday cakes. I got the cherry blossom matcha latte hot and it interesting, but good. I think this is more of a picture worthy cafe. The food is pretty generic, but the adorable animals, shapes they create is amazing. They also have a lot of seasonal drinks and foods to try. The interior is also super cute as well. Tl;dr - cute food, taste is pretty generic, but foods are picture worthy!

Yelp
I've been eyeing their desserts for now, and finally got a chance to try this place! It's a spacious cafe with lots of different cute desserts and drinks to choose from! I ended up getting the matcha lava cake which came on a sizzling platter where they pour matcha sauce on top of the ice cream while you watch it sizzle. It was such a delicious dessert, especially if you love matcha! Would love to come back to try other desserts in the future!

Yelp
Probably my favorite dessert cake place in Philly. I have only tried their cake slices. They have staples that are always there and rotating ones that are holiday themed. Tried a bunch over time and enjoyed most of them. They are asian styled cakes but I would say their cakes are heavier tasting than other asian styled cakes. Prices 8-10 per slice. Overall, I would recommend.

Yelp
This place has the cutest desserts!! The matcha Mille feuille cake was delicious the last time I came. This time we opted for the mango mouse (chocolate shell, colored and designed to look like an actual mango) and a chocolate mousse bear. There are several tables to sit at inside and enjoy your desserts. Can't wait to return to try the rest!

Yelp
I visited A La Mousse on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 9:30 pm. First impressions... this dessert place is very small with very limited seating, but clean. It took a while to get seated for a group of 4 as it was still really busy at this time. I didn't mind the wait as I got to use the time to peruse the menu and admire the stunning pastry display. There were so many options and it was difficult to narrow down to a few selections because they all looked AMAZING. However, waiting for a table was kinda chaotic because there was no organized system to queue diners waiting for a table. Especially when it got super crowded and you couldn't really tell whether people were waiting in line to place their orders or waiting for a table. A la mousse has some of the most aesthetic desserts I've seen and eaten. It was evident that they put in a lot of attention to detail in the baking and construction of the individual pastries. The earl grey cyclone was quite dense in texture, but light in flavor. I thought the thin layer of raspberry in the center complemented the aromatic tea essence nicely. The white sleeping bear was light and heavenly. The desserts also come with the option of ice cream, which I thought was really good. There was a crunchy hazelnut component in the ice cream that I enjoyed. So I definitely recommend getting the ice cream to go with your pastries. While somewhat expensive, I felt like the prices were justified based on the overall quality of the pastries and taste. Some folks who aren't really into fancy-looking desserts would probably have a different opinion. But that is not to say that they can't still enjoy a nice beverage from their wide selection of teas and coffees or even one of the basic-looking pastries!

Yelp
I love A La Mousse! One of the best and cutest dessert spot in Chinatown. All their mousse and cakes are so rich and creamy. Their fruity mousse cakes are refreshing and creamy at the same time. The vibe is low key with music playing softly in the background. There's free wifi for people to bring their laptop to do work in. Beware though, during busy hours the cafe does get a bit loud which might make it hard to concentrate on work for some people. There's a $10 credit card minimum.

Yelp
Ah, A La Mousse. It's dangerous to have you in short walking distance from my hotel. Your cakes are not only beautiful, but delicious. A La Mousse had indoor and outdoor seating. But, we were told by the staff that they only do dine in service. We chose to sit outside anyway. The benches were nice. At night, there's hanging lights as well. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered: Mango Mousse cake (5/5): Absolutely delicious. There's a delicate white chocolate shell on the outside with an aromatic, fluffy mango mousse on the inside. The cake was soft as well. We could taste the mango fruit pieces in the filling. Fabulous. We ordered this cake on two visits. My sis and lil bro enjoyed this cake a lot. Tangerine (4/5): Also a winner. It wasn't as aromatic as the mango mousse cake. But, it was fruity and tasted like an orange creamsicle mousse cake. The mousse was fluffy and creamy. Earl Cyclone (3/5): This was ok. The Earl Grey Tea was kind of floral. If you like floral tea, you'll like this dessert. I did appreciate that the raspberry and white peach filling balanced out the floral tea flavor. Overall, we really enjoyed the desserts. They are quite pricey, but they are worth it. There's still so many desserts that we haven't tried out yet. We will be back. Come and check them out.

Yelp
Cute little dessert place in Chinatown. Their buttercream oreo milkshake had a good flavor, but was very icy. The matcha lava cake was delicious, and had a matcha center with a chocolate cake. We did order coffee ice cream but were served matcha ice cream, not upset about it though, it tasted really good!

Yelp
This place is so cute and has no many good desserts. Everything is so soft and looks so pretty. Beyond the appearance, the desserts taste amazing. I'll definitely come back for more. The girl at the counter was so nice in wrapping something up as a gift as well.

Yelp
Cute dessert place in Chinatown. It got a bit packed on a weekday evening but not to the point that there wasn't a place for someone to sit. I anticipated to order the fun, instagrammable desserts in the display case. They were yummy and certainly photo-worthy! Their mousse is light and fluffy. Their matcha did not disappoint. A scoop of ice cream with each mouse plate is optional but costs extra. For me, the excitement that these dishes bring are worth the splurge.

Yelp
A few friends got together for some post movie dessert at A La Mousse and they did not disappoint. This French inspired dessert spot is the perfect place to soothe all your sweet tooth's cravings. I tell what is better the aesthetics or the actual taste. Both were excellent. A charming dining area offers a tremendous view of all the treats on display. (It might make someone order an extra slice of cake or two). I showed restrain to keep the waistline in check but next time I might have to try a couple more items.

Yelp
Always my last stop before leaving China Town! Their cakes are always so gorgeous, and they taste great too! Inside of the shop is small but cute, and the lighting is great too. The staff is very nice and they're careful while they pack up your order.
