At a time when prices are getting out of control, and NY style pizza is hitting close to $30 a pie, a place like A Pizza Pie is a very welcome respite.
Taste wise, it's on par with places like Pizza Lobo, maybe just a touch below Pizza Amelia (though with far better hours). This is equivalent to some really great late night pizza back home in New Jersey, hitting all the spots without trying to be too much more.
Quality cheese and pretty good sauce, my main note is about the dough and crust. The dough could definitely use a little salt in the seasoning, it's pretty bland, and the cook on the outer crust is somewhat uneven - some slices have a perfect crust that would double as a great breadstick, and others are a bit too charred.
But, it's pretty good overall and is being offered at extremely reasonable prices. I really admire what the owner is doing, and am looking forward to being a semi-regular customer and trying their original mediterranean restaurant down the block.
