Wasn't too crowded for a Saturday afternoon, friendly service. We ordered peach long island ice tea( i am not sure why it is called that coz it isn't like an LIT) and the other one was good! We ordered lobster ravioli (tasted good, portion size is big) and tour of Italy (portions of Alfredo, chicken parmigiana and cheese ravioli) ravioli was perfect, Alfredo was cheese with crushed pepper.. good but I didn't like the parmigiana as the marinara sauce was okay but the breaded chicken was chewy) and fries. Previous visit we tried the pepperoni pizza(not good), spicy chicken and salmon (huge portion and amazing flavours). Overall I think it's a bit pricey however the cocktails are amazing, friendly service and good food. Recommended!

Upon entrance, the restaurant has a certain ambience that just seems quaint and intimate. As beautiful as the restaurant looks, the food is even better. From the fresh baked bread to the shrimp and lobster rigatoni and of course the linguine and clam sauce or classic. You can’t go wrong with one of the Don Julio margaritas either they offered in several different flavors. Be sure also to try a nice glass of Franciscan Cabernet that they have which goes great with The spicy red sauce that they offer. We came with a group of six and everything and everybody were so amazed with the sauces and the food itself. Stop in and ask for Mark or Alyssa and they’ll get you taken care of.

We ordered pizza and it was fair. At first glance, it looked great. The crust was great and the dough was fresh. The problem is, it was incredibly salty to a point we couldn't finish the pizza. The service was lacking. The server simply didn't come to the table unless we motioned for them to come over. The atmosphere was outstanding and the restaurant had the vibe that makes me want to try again. I hope our next visit will give me reason to adjust this review. We had super high hopes the moment we walked in. Let's see what our next visit turns out.

We ordered a cheese NY style pizza, it was good, but I’ve had better. I ordered a Greek salad, the dressing was good but it was a bit pricey for the amount. We went mid afternoon, not crowded and it was a relaxing atmosphere.

I just had my delivery order from this restaurant and I don’t have enough worlds to describe how happy I was with the food. I’ve tried several Italian places in McKinney and all of them were horrible. So I decided to give a try to this place and omg I’m so impressed. I Ordered Greek salad, fettuccine carbonara, chicken Alfredo, chicken Marsala, and chicken Murphy. All of the items arrived piping hot and wrapped very carefully with no spills. As pleasant surprise, we also got a lot of garlic knots which were amazing and we didn’t expect them . The salad was fresh and crisp. The lettuce was fresh chopped and firm( now days you rarely get fresh lettuce that isn’t pre chopped out of the bag for your salad). All of the veggies looked fresh and tasted great! The pastas were amazing!! I’m definitely a returning customer from now on .

Google
Pros: cutely decorated place indoor and outdoor seating options reasonably priced food Neutral: The server was friendly, but definitely attempted to sell (cocktails, appetizers, dessert). Cons: The taste of the food did not meet my expectations. Having been to New York many times, the pizza at A Roma did not measure up.

Stopped here for lunch with a friend on a Saturday afternoon and was so pleasantly surprised. The inside is beautiful! I loved the teal velvety chairs and benches and the twinkling ceiling (yup, look up)! The staff was super friendly. We ordered Bruschetta as an appetizer: it's the best I've ever had. They use a basil pesto, and the taste is phenomenal. We both wanted something we wouldn't make at home, so our entrees were Eggplant Rollatini and the Chicken Florentine. Both were delicious. We both had plenty of leftovers to take home.

Google
We had a party of 7 for a post-graduation dinner at A Roma Italian Kitchen in McKinney, and it was phenomenal! Every single dish we ordered was delicious. The baked ziti and lasagna were absolute standouts - rich, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Our server Alyssa was amazing. She was super attentive, kind, and made us feel so taken care of throughout the evening. The service truly elevated the experience. Do not skip the garlic bread rolls (you’ll dream about them later), and the strawberry cheesecake is the perfect sweet ending. Pricing was very reasonable for the portions and quality. Highly recommend for families, celebrations, or just when you’re craving amazing Italian food done right. We’ll definitely be back!

Yelp
Very nice vibe, great lighting. Friendly staff and delicious bread rolls with the pink sauce. I got the chicken Parmesan and it was very good. Will be back.

Yelp
We stopped by A Roma for lunch and had a really great experience. The service was just as good as the first time, attentive from the moment we walked in. We appreciated that there was open seating as that made everything feel relaxed and easy. The ambiance was just what we needed, calm and peaceful, which I personally loved. It's a nice spot if you want to enjoy your meal without all the noise and chaos you sometimes get during lunch hours. We ordered the lobster ravioli and Jordan's pizza, both of which were fresh, flavorful and served hot. The pizza had a nice crisp crust and balanced toppings. We also tried the trio appetizer sampler, which was a nice option to share, but I do wish it had been cooked just a bit longer for a better texture. Overall, A Roma cured my pasta obsession and offered great service!

Yelp
We had been meaning to try this place ever since it opened, and it was a bit of a letdown. The decor is nice, but the dining area seemed a bit small. They took up a significant portion of the dining room with a bar. Our server was uber-friendly! As for the food.....meh. The pizzas were greasy.. you couldn't pick up slices because the crust was soggy. The sampler appetizer was decent, but not generous on their portions for a "shareable". My daughter had the Philly cheesesteak, but said it wasn't as good as our usual cheesesteak place. I was pleased that they offered veal parmigiana, but again....small portion and the veal was fatty/chewy. Seasoning and sauce were ok. Not great. I don't think we will return.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cozy, family owned American Italian spot, A Roma is a great choice. Let me set the stage: this isn't authentic Italian, but as an American Italian restaurant, it does the job well and that's how I'm reviewing it. My husband and I are creatures of habit, so we always order the same things. I'm a huge fan of the lobster ravioli, which is rich and indulgent. My husband swears by the Stromboli it's consistently flavorful and hits the mark every time. Another highlight for him is their vanilla old fashioned. He prefers his cocktails not overly sweet, and this one nails it perfectly. We typically sit at the bar, and the bartender is fantastic attentive, personable, and always ready with a suggestion to try something new (though we rarely take him up on it because we're admittedly stuck in our ways). The interior is cozy and versatile, making it a solid choice for a romantic date night or a family dinner. We haven't tried the pizza yet, but every time we see one go by, it looks absolutely mouthwatering something we need to remedy soon. A final note: remember to support local! A Roma is family owned, and you can feel the pride in the food and service. Highly recommend stopping by for a casual, satisfying meal.

Yelp
Decided to revisit this restaurant A Roma Italian in McKinney to celebrate a birthday. From a prior visit it was very intimate, quiet, service was excellent and food delicious. This visit was a wonderful experience. If you find you need something a little different, they can adjust the entree and it still tastes amazing. Highly recommend for a date night out or for a special occasion.

Yelp
The Salmon Piccata (no mushrooms, angel hair instead of spaghetti) is the best dish in McKinney! Love this place and the people who work here are just terrific!

Yelp
My husband and I visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago and were offered a preview of the lobster ravioli and lobster on the half shell, which would be on the Valentines Day Menu. I decided to take a chance on the dish and it was delicious! I'm writing this as I'm leaving the restaurant on Valentines Day. I ordered the lobster again and it was just as good as the first time! That doesn't always happen in restaurants. The hostess greeting us at the door was gracious and welcoming at both visits. Both waitresses Alyssa B and London were attentive and pleasant. The owner was present and welcoming. I think we've found a new favorite here in McKinney!

Yelp
How many times I've driven past this location and not stopped. Glad we did because it was fabulous! Seated quickly, served quickly,AND most of all, that lobster sauce! We will definitely be back! Well done.

Yelp
Outstanding service beautiful restaurant gorgeous bar area! And most importantly great food. My wife had the lobster ravioli special while I stuck with my usual pizza. Outstanding! Service from London yes London was warm welcoming and terrific. Armand the owner stopped by to ask first time here? And we said yes and we promised to become regulars! Great place so glad we finally finally stopped in.

Yelp
If you're reading this review, this is your sign to try A Roma! Fantastic Italian food restaurant with AMAZING service!!!! When you come, you HAVE to try the stuffed mushrooms (it comes with a lobster sauce! SOO GOOD!) also, make sure to try the Branzino Risotto. The fish was cooked perfectly! If you're craving more of a chicken dish, try the McKinney special with chicken. The McKinney special comes with a creamy pesto and it is FABULOUS!!!!

Yelp
Wonderful dinner tonight at Roma. Was craving some Risotto that hit the spot! My hubby had the Frutti Di Mare that was just right, too. My kiddos loved the cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks. Clean bathrooms and comfortable seating. Service was on point and food came out hot and ready! Will come back!

Yelp
We have been here about 6 times... when they first open and now months later- they started out strong with great service and delicious food and the Best Prickly Pear margaritas (on the rocks) and now months later they are still as great as when they first opened!!

Yelp
This was our first visit. The ambience is very nice and the large picture is amazing. Our waitress was excellent and answered all our questions. The menu is large. It would be nice if they said they were bringing complimentary rolls because we weren't sure whether we should order the appetizer to get them. The salad was large and very good. We substituted sauces on items for ones we liked better. All of us felt our meals were - OK. There was an automatic 20% tip added for 6 people (it does say it will do that on the menu if you look). The bathrooms were clean. The group was divided on whether we'd return or not.

Yelp
I loved the margarita pizza. I would recommend. Our server was friendly and accommodating. The two hostess that were present , one was super friendly and sat us but the other hostess that was present had this blank stare no smile, than later she had a bunch of silverware in a container at the end of the bar table and you can hear her slamming them hard several time close by where guests are sitting and hear it, that was uncomfortable. Customers do not want to hear that while trying to enjoy their dinner. Needs better training.

Yelp
This was beyond terrible. Words fail to express how bad the experience was. Chicken piccata was so dry I couldn't even eat it and was served with a dark brown sauce; which a piccata is a lemon caper sauce so the butter definitely burned. I have had better frozen meals. And honestly, the chicken tasted precooked and previously frozen. Waste of money and 2 hours of my life.

Yelp
This was the 3rd or 4th time our family has visited and we always love it. Service has been very attentive to our needs and food comes out quickly. This evening was the first time we came and they had live music! Very nice atmosphere. Food is always delicious, pretty generous portions, and good pricing. The pizza was amazing!! Family fav

Yelp
Great new place in McKinney... charming and clean atmosphere with an attentive, friendly staff. We were so pleased with the scratch made food. When trying the clam chowder we were transported back to New England. So Good!!!! The bread was fantastic, the pizza was perfect, and the pasta divine. Stuffed mushrooms were also great as was caprese salad! If you like wine, make sure to ask the manager or bartender about the best Cab they carry. You'll love it! Before you leave try the tiramisu. It melts in your mouth! Oh I want to go back already!
google avatar

Tony N.

Yelp
Very good value..!! Servers took very good care of us. Helped us to arrange a baby chair for our Granddaughter. Food was excellent but we had problems with the timings of the food served.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
We went last night and had the baked ziti and added sausage and meatballs and meat sauce instead of the marinara sauce and added mushrooms! They will do anything you want as far as adding or replacing and that's awesome! For dessert we had the tiramisu and it was delicious! Trey is one of the owner's and is wonderful and the other partner is the kitchen guru and makes the tiramisu from scratch! The ambience is quiet and pleasant and makes it really enjoyable! So much for your money!

Yelp
1st time trying when walking through the door was greeted with smiles the atmosphere was great clean with plenty of room. We arrived at 5:00pm with the restaurant starting to fill in. We started with the calamari it was hot and fresh with a great crunch to it. The rolls could have been hotter and fresher, we had the McKinney special & Stromboli with the Stromboli being a 4 out of a ten. The McKinney special was recommended it came with Chicken, mushrooms, bell peppers & peas with creamy pesto over rigatoni. My plate came-out lukewarm with bell peppers very little chicken and way too much pesto sauce over rigatoni, there was no peas or mushrooms very disappointing.

Yelp
My name is Sharon and I am new to the McKinney area. I have been looking for an authentic Italian Restaurant and decided to try out this new restaurant. I was greeted and treated so kindly by Armend, one of their servers; when I first entered the door. I love the ambiance and the menu options. I placed a To Go order for cheese sticks and lasagna; and the food was very fresh and really good! I didn't have time to sit in; but I will definitely be revisiting again to enjoy some of the other menu selections and the entire dine-in experience. I will definitely tell family and friends about this place!

Yelp
Very cozy italian restaurant. Comfortable, classy, clean, and the food is very very good. The service and staff are very courteous and respectful. They make you feel welcome and inviting. The pasta's are incredible and the meatballs are very flavorful. The italian sausage is also very tasty with lots of herbs and spices. I would confidently recommend this establishment for regular italian meals. Even the music is very pleasant. Agon is a gentleman as well.

Yelp
Went for lunch. Atmosphere is really nice. Old time music, beautifully decorated. Service was excellent, food was delicious. Menu has so many options from pizza and calzones to full dinners. So many things look great. Definitely recommend and we will go back again.

Yelp
We finally visited this restaurant for the first time, but this was not the first time that we've eaten their food. I was getting my kitchen remodeled, so I had no way of cooking at home for 2 months. Instead, we've been using GrubHub to order our meals. We were so impressed with how this restaurant always got our orders correctly. We've ordered from them a few times and every time, we always had some sort of "special" instructions. I kid you not, they have always gotten our orders right! Their food is excellent! My favorite is their chicken or veal Marsala. My son and his gf ordered a few others; lobster ravioli, margarita pizza, caprese salad, etc. Everything was cooked perfectly. They were very yummy! To my pleasant surprise, I saw New England Clam Chowder on the menu, so I ordered. It was nice and hot and creamy and the best part...they didn't skimp on the clams. It was so hardy and good, I even ordered one more bowl, "to go!" The staff were great; super nice, polite and on top of things. Great, great food and excellent service. We will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious...lots of flavor... salad was fresh ... ambiance clean and inviting... service was perfect... we will be back... I'm telling my friends to experience it too!!

Yelp
A Roma is a new Italian restaurant near the McKinney Costco. The "Seat Yourself" sign was confusing because when we entered, all the seats were taken except for a long set of tables pushed together for 8. Do we wait? Can we sit there? Is anyone going to tell us what to do? Awkward! A couple got up to leave so we grabbed the table. There were only two servers who were very attentive and efficient. A couple of guys, who looked like they may have been owners or managers, just chit-chatted with people they knew. My husband enjoyed the Linguine and Clams. We did agree that the bread in the $5 bread basket was bland and needed more garlic and salt. I've traveled to Italy twice and love the cuisine. And back in the day, I loved to order Fettuccine Alfredo at Harry's American Bar in Century City (Los Angeles). It was the LA branch of the Harry's in Venice, Italy. The fettuccine was housemade and the sauce was lightly cheesy and buttery. It clung to the pasta so delicately. Fast forward to a dinner at A Roma where I ordered Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. The chicken was fine. The sauce was very heavy, gluey and thick with cheese. I know many people love their pasta drowning in thick sauce and if you do, this is the place for you.

Luis P.

Yelp
Usually don't be saying this but ..... honestly this place is a joke . We were a table of three there was nobody to greet you in the front which is fine . Finally a staff member said it was open seating...would've thought they would start taking care or you???? Unfortunately we sat there for 6 min without anybody to come get our drink order. The place only had two tables. Not surprised it was this empty even the owner is a joke....the whole staff was just debating who was gonna take care of us keep in mind it was 8:40 and they close at 10:00 .WILL NOT BE COMING BACK.

Douglas G.

Yelp
Cece waited on our table. Cece was very kind and patient, and also very accommodating. This visit, we had the sampler: calamari, ravioli & mozzarella. We also had the chicken parmigiana and the meat lovers pizza. All were great! Thank you Cece for the excellent service!
google avatar

Ryan S.

Yelp
Food was really good! Try the bruschetta for an appetizer! Tastes like authentic Italian. Service was fast attentive. It's definitely a hidden secret in McKinney.
google avatar

Jerri B.

Yelp
Good Italian food. Located near Costco in McKinney. Once you are inside the restaurant it doesn't feel as if one is in a strip mall. The booth seating is comfortable with velour material. I tried the special shrimp and lobster rigatoni. It was delicious. Two others in my party ordered the Stromboli and chicken fettuccine and shared a small Caesar salad which was large enough for a starter salad for two. The waitress served us complimentary bread with our meals and offered more but we declined. None of us had leftovers. There is also a small patio for outdoor seating. All staff is very friendly. The waitress was cheerful and attentive. They do have a beer, wine offerings plus a full bar. We will return to try other dishes.

Zeqir S.

Yelp
I been all over Dallas but nothing compare like this Resturant and I think it's the best in Dallas everything is fresh the staff service on point,I highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was good but pizza was undercooked. We did really like the flavor they just need to slow down and let it cook for a little longer, and I would have rated them much higher.

Jacob P.

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere, and the owners are super nice! I've been twice and it was great both times. Love this place!!

Yelp
Always good. Great dishes. Great delivery place too. Slice system hard to use. Recommend straight ordering.

Yelp
Not entirely sure what to make of my first visit, and the overall restaurant. When I entered to pick up my order, I was completely ignored. Normally, I would be understanding, as restaurants servers are juggling multiple orders. However, given that the restaurant was slow, the customers were, from all appearances, taken care of, and the three servers on staff at the time seemed more interested in engaging in idle chatter, I was confused by all of this. They never once assured that they will be to the desk to help shortly as is the typical of customer service. Only look my direction a few times, and then carried on. A few patrons did look confused by the situations as well. After standing there for nearly six minutes, the female server eventually came to the counter. Interestingly, as soon as she began to walk to the kitchen, a Caucasian couple entered and suddenly the staff's excellent customer service skills came, I guess, out of hibernation. They greeted the couple and were eager to help them with their requests. Very stark contrast to how they unexplainably treated me. Due to their actions, I could not help but accept what obviously all happened. I was the on the receiving end of prejudice. It is very unfortunate to have experienced prejudice mistreatment. I would suggest that the owner remind their workers that all paying customers are what makes it possible for them to maintain their comfortable lifestyles. Bluntly mistreating certain customers simply based on their race is not something we should still be encountering in 2024.
google avatar

Blaze Z.

Yelp
This place is meh. The inside is so tacky and feels awkward. Food is meh too. We won't be coming back here so many more food options around here.
google avatar

Jo S.

Yelp
Newly opened in McKinney, we had hopes this would possibly be a decent place for pizza. We ordered the supreme. But it was totally sub par. Ingredients were cheap: pepperoni could not be recognized by sight or taste and could have been mistaken for ham? Sausage looked like pale tiny nuggets straight out of a freezer bag and barely had a sausage taste. Sauce? No flavor or maybe there wasn't any on the crust. Crust was soggy. The only thing tasting fresh were the peppers and onions and these were chopped up haphazardly with some huge pieces and some tiny pieces. Most of the ingredients were dumped in the middle of the pizza and it smelled stale. With newly opening you'd think they would have made an effort to impress. It was an expensive lesson to learn you will NEVER eat here again.
google avatar

Leonard S.

Yelp
Wanted to try out the restaurant so I got a calzone . Very disappointing! Calzone was tasteless. The contents were lukewarm and ingredients seemed canned and not distributed evenly! I mean for almost $20 I was expecting premium calzone . What I got was gas station calzone ! Disappointed

David C.

Yelp
Excellent food in a warm and comfortable dining room All of our dishes were hand made with very fresh ingredients The salads were topped with homemade dressings. Best part was the price and service. The waiter was great and five of us had appetizers and entrees for $ 121.

Dee M.

Yelp
Meatballs taste like they are from a bag in the freezer. They dumped so much orange sauce on the lobster raviolis you can't taste anything except the sauce. The service was good but nothing appears to be made in the restaurant. Just frozen and heated up.
google avatar

Ron B.

Yelp
Great food & service. Everyone is very nice & personal. Owner/chef 28 year old from Albania. This is their 2nd restaurant, other one on 380 between Coit & Preston. Just as good and great people! Very nice atmosphere & interior. Food is awesome. You can't go wrong! Support family owned!

Lois N.

Yelp
The food was remarkably excellent!! We will absolutely return! Its close to home and the people who work there were very pleasant! Made for an enjoyable dinnerthe ambiance was pleasant

Yelp
Went here for the first time as we were looking for something new. The waiter was excellent and very knowledgeable about the wines and the specials. Food was excellent! The decor is very nice with Sinatra music playing in the background. Will definitely go back!

Tomy G.

Yelp
The second you walk in you feel so welcomed! Everyone is so nice. The food was delicious, I had the chicken Murphy which was incredible! If you want to watch a game on tv you can have a seat at the bar which very nice and have some of their amazing drinks. I highly recommend this restaurant for anybody!

Yelp
Most italian places provide free bread of some sort the garlic knots are $5 the sauced used on the spaghetti and pizza was kind of watery the server wasn't very attentive. Expensive food for what you get is a nicely decorated Italian restaurant with low quality food

Brian W.

Yelp
Came to celebrate my 3-0 record in NCAA against my boys this week. Really nice place. Great service at 5:30. No wait but busy. Ripped through some chicken parm rest of family loved their food. I would be back.
