"Normally, you might stay away from a place that serves both Thai and Chinese, thinking the kitchen is spreading itself too thin with cuisines that possess contrasting nuances. But Aaron’s does a good job on both, and being able to eat both kinds of cooking in the same carryout dish is appealing, such as with this lunch special of Thai chicken wings and Chinese pork fried rice, sided with some very good wonton soup, in an old-school rendition." - Robert Sietsema

During our visit to NY we ate dinner here. The food was very good as was the service. The place itself is small and does not have a lot of siting space but most people probably order and take home or have delivered. For us this was a very nice experience. Small portion was more than enough, could serve us for 2 meals.

Google
The food is good. slightly more expensive than other Chinese places in the neighborhood. The best food items aren't on the online menu or delivery apps, for example their Pineapple Chicken doesn't show up in the online menu. Best to go in person or order directly from the restaurant without using the delivery apps

Google
We ordered delivery. The ordering process was easy, the food arrived fast and was fresh. Everything tasted really good. Highly recommend

Wanda Lucas

Google
I order chicken wings and french fries and the chicken was old and dark. Could not eat it.

Dan Ferrara

Google
I know this place has gotten roasted on reviews but it’s honestly standard Chinese in NY. I got the sesame chicken lunch special on Grubhub - they have a $10 off promo. There’s no way the meal would be worth $17, but for $7 you can do a lot worse!

Natalia W

Google
Very friendly and food is always hot and ready. Best chicken and broccoli I have ever had.

LadyPhoenix LP

Google
I order sweet and sour pork everything was fast but the taste wasn't good won't buy from there again. see for yourself doesn't look good I tried putting the sauce on it but still was nasty.

Google
The DELIVERY GUY CURSED AT ME AND LOOKED LIKE HE WANTED TO HIT ME BECAUSE HE THOUGHT I WASNT GOING TO TIP. Luckily I was still in the building and the security guard and another employee was there. I was so scared, he was extremely aggressive I paid 17 for lunch special and it was 90%rice. I bought Dumplings, the menu says it comes with 8 but they only gave me 5

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Getting lunch delivery is my go to choice for tasty (when you ask for extra spicy, it is extra spicy), cheap and filling eats! Lunch specials are awesome. Friendly delivery guys every time and super fast. Thumbs up!!!

Elissa D.

Yelp
Ordered on grubhub on Xmas day. Food quality pretty good and very fast delivery. Taking 1 star off because they slightly messed up the order and had to redeliver a portion of the order and another star for high menu prices Pretty standard nyc Chinese food, despite poor yelp reviews Will most likely order from here again

Angry Y.

Yelp
I bet the ones who low rated don't know how or what to order and can't handle anything spicy like an amateur.

Chris S.

Yelp
Once saw this place on a YouTube video that claimed that this place was the worst rated Chinese takeout in NYC. However despite that, the people in the video said it wasn't bad and I agree. The menu is extensive and inexpensive. The food itself is just decent. There are better options nearby but this is by no means a bad one. The general Tso's chicken came out good. The chicken was crispy and the flavor was good. It wasn't spicy though. The pork fried rice is where they lost me. It wasn't much of anything. Barely had anything in it. The broccoli also wasn't very good. Tasted like a cheap afterthought, better off as a garnish. All in all, it's a decent spot.

Matthew R.

Yelp
Patrons are just a dollar to these people.. they dont really care.. they just exist.. .. when they get it wrong they make you feel bad for it

Julian Z.

Yelp
Delivery guy was EXTREMELY rude. Literally started yelling at me just because I didn't pick up the phone for the first time. Then yelled again when he saw me in person. What the hell is his problem??? STAY AWAY for your own good

Emani J.

Yelp
Food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious! The best Chinese food in the area. The staff is always so friendly and goes above and beyond for my needs. Extra sauce etc.

Stanley V.

Yelp
The quality of food and taste improved drastically. They probably got a new person to cook.

Carol Y.

Yelp
Ordered a Beef Chowfun lunch special. Fast, cooked well, good flavors - no complaints. Post pandemic, NYC restaurant prices are a bit all over the place so for a lunch special with tax, comes out to $9.75. Not bad, but I'm use to cheaper. Also keeping in mind that chinese food in general has always been priced cheaper than other kinds of cuisine. I noticed online ordering prices seem to be making up for the cut that delivery services would take so if you can pick up, you would save a lot more money.

Summer S.

Yelp
Not sure why the rest of the reviews aren't good. I regularly order the general tsos tofu (takeout). Its so good that my non-vegetarian roommate started ordering it. Overall would recommend for good Chinese takeout, specifically vegetarian takeout (as I haven't tried their other dishes).

Josh B.

Yelp
What if Yelp isn't always right? Yes, it can be troubling to question one's religion. After encountering far too many glammed-up eateries I wanted something quick and painless. Had it not been for the battery-depleting High Line photos I might have checked Yelp and run away in horror. The Kung Pao shrimp was at least mid-to-high level compared with takeout competitors in vegetables, sauce and the shrimp itself. There was a 20% discount. I'm not sure why but maybe it's for non-takeout orders. As is often the case many of the horror stories are for deliveries gone awry so take that into account if you're scared of the 1.5-star rating and not getting a delivery.

Emily K.

Yelp
Not sure what changed since the listing was last updated, but it has since improved and the name has been updated in other places to "New Aaron's". I ordered delivery for the sesame beef and the general Tsos, both came with white rice. The delivery was fast and the food piping hot when it arrived. It was exactly the americanized Chinese food with a fried and sticky texture that I'd been looking for! If you're in it for the low down fast Chinese food this is your spot! The only hold back from being 5 stars is the price- I feel like it was on the expensive side. Regardless, the next time my craving for American Chinese food strikes, I'll reorder.

Cara T.

Yelp
I am honestly surprised at all the negative reviews because I have always had a very positive delivery experience! I order the pad Thai from here a lot. It is a good price for the large amount they give you and it has a spicy flavor which I really enjoy. The delivery is always so fast! Almost every thine that I have ordered from here, it has come earlier than the anticipated time listed on seamless. The food is always piping hot and tastes very fresh. While I agree that it is pretty basic Chinese American food, it is an affordable delivery option.

Julianne A.

Yelp
I ordered the L7 lunch special: chicken with Chinese vegetables. The Chinese veg was snow peas, carrots and nappa cabbage - all good ones. Unfortunately, the chicken was too soft and had a weird slimy texture. And even worse, the dish was bland and tasted watered down. Based on this experience, I wouldn't order from here again. My lunch was so bad that I threw most of it away (after trying my best to eat what I could). It also costs more than my regular Chinese place.

Joe B.

Yelp
As of June 1st this restaurant took over the phone number from a restaurant called noodle 28. They don't tell you and when you receive your food you will know it's not what you ordered when you throw it out as unedible. This place is disgusting and I would never order their food again

Sammy J.

Yelp
Don't let the looks scare you. This is an ok place to get quick lunch take-away. I go when I just need something quick. Don't get complicated most things are good enough for a quick lunch. This is not a sit-down place. While there are tables and seat, this is not the place to bring friends and coworkers for a team lunch. But it's good enough for a quick beef and broccoli or another staple like Gen. Tso's.

Alexus H.

Yelp
Food undercooked, rice was oily, just not edible at all. I don't live in the area and they never answer the phone, they hold the phone in their hand at first i thought she was taking the order but then i realized it's so they don't answer the phone. Ridiculous if no stars was a choice I'd choose that.

Brantley B.

Yelp
Really crummy. Their reviews are very high on Seamless, so it's got to be some sort of trick. Awful food.

De W.

Yelp
First of all my order was supposed to be delivered in 25-30 minutes and it took over an hour. The best part of the experience was the very polite delivery guy. The food was almost inedible. The egg drop soup was so viscous I couldn't eat it without gagging. I ordered chicken chow mein and received the colorless glop in the photo. I could only pick out the 9 or so pieces of chicken to eat with my rice and threw the rest away. I ended up having to buy another meal from somewhere else anyway. Total waste of money.

Lara F.

Yelp
The worst food I have ever eaten and I'm a vegetarian. There is no seasoning whatsoever. Dumplings were heavy and hardly filled. No rice given with moo shu dish. They should rename the restaurant to Aaron no care Chinese.

John F.

Yelp
A waste of time and money. After waiting almost 90 minutes our food arrived cold and bland. Also was missing one of the egg rolls we ordered. Egg drop soup was thick and had no taste at all. Pork fried rice was hard also had no taste. Wontons in the soup were soggy. Everything went into the garbage and we will be going to bed hungry. We also were also tricked by the seamless reviews, thoroughly disappointing.

Melissa L.

Yelp
Just horrible. -5 stars would be better. I received the order on time but the delivery guy left cause he didn't know how to read the instructions specified in the order and couldn't find me. The second guy came and didn't know where to go. Clearly I put 5th floor to the left RING BELL. Anyways...I am starving an hr later and my General Tso's had brocolli big pieces of brocolli, WTH. I am starving and go for my Pork Fried Rice and the corner of it looks like it was eaten from already I got so grossed out. Rice had 2 pieces of pork in it and the portion I tried tasted just like white rice. No fried rice flavor at all and no vegetables at all. ****Don't waste your time here. First and last time for me.****

Tyler L.

Yelp
Standard generic American Chinese food. They are a little stingy with the amount of meat they give you and this place is priced slightly higher than similar establishments. However, the food was well prepared and was not greasy at all. The fried rice that comes with their combo meals in particular is healthily made - fluffy fried rice with a bit of egg.

Nelson D.

Yelp
Place is clean. Haven't had a bad meal yet. The pad thai is good. Generals tao Chix good. Lomain goods. What else can you ask for. And they're quick. Simple quick good.

Suresh D.

Yelp
I was in here yesterday slightly before 1:00. I saw they had both Chinese and Thai food available. Usually when there is more than one Asian country's food, one is better than the other. I decided to give the pad Thai with shrimp a try. The food was ready within less than ten minutes. The lunch special came with a can of soda. The Pad Thai had lots of chopped peanuts and bean sprouts. There was more than enough shrimp which is usually what gets skimped on when you order anything with shrimp. There was lime wedge for squeezing if you so desired. Since I had put the hot sauce on it, i did squeeze the lime wedge onto my food to cut some of heat. Not the best pad Thai I've had but certainly not bad.

Crystal M.

Yelp
By far one if the worst places I've been!! Not sure how dirty a business has to be to get a B rating first off... Then I ordered chow mein and instead of Chow mein noodles I got a bag of crunchy crackers! The manager agreed to refund me and took back the dish that I ordered through level up. He never refunded me the money but kept the food...

Tony L.

Yelp
Easily the worst Chinese food I've had anywhere. Ordered General Tso's Chicken with Pork Fried Rice and Wonton Soup on Seamless. Over-fried and completely inedible "white meat" chicken, flavorless soup and dry fried rice. I didn't know there could be Chinese delivery this bad. Now I know. Avoid like the plague.

Anna T.

Yelp
Worst service on planet earth. We ordered delivery through Seamless/GrubHub, the estimate was 25-35 min, 2.5 hours later we still didn't receive an order and they stopped picking up their phone. I wish I could give zero stars

Madeline L.

Yelp
Food was very good and fresh. Not sure where all these negative reviews are coming from.

Boom Boom B.

Yelp
I'd like to write a long-form yelp review full of my characteristic wit, but I can't do it on an empty stomach. My stomach is empty, friends, because I could only handle two bites of the "Szechuan Style Beef" dish the delivery guy presented me not ten minutes ago. It smelled and tasted like actual garbage. Like soggy, disgusting garbage. I am so unhappy. Friends, please take my advice and go literally anywhere else.

Bree M.

Yelp
They charge extra for white meat chicken, but it isn't chicken at all!! It's actually fish. Disgusting and dishonest

Samer H.

Yelp
FML. I was in the market for bad, greasy, cliche Chinese food. Like, I was scoping it out. It's a bad day when you're eating food and the whole time you're contemplating the best place to blow it at work the next day. Let me preface this by saying I think Taco Bell is good quality, so let that be a temperature for you to take my quality standards. Fried rice... The pork was dry, and the whole thing smelled like the towel I use to dry off my dog. It was murky and weird. So I put that down. We ordered noodles. The noodles were good but the beef in it was WEIRD. I tried to chew it and it kept popping back into another form, like gum. Also, I 100% am not exaggerating when I say that there was a good centimeter of clear fluid at the bottom of the noodle dish. I drained out the plastic container, it was grease. I get it, Chinese food is greasy, but no joke this was about half a cup. 1 spoon of Canola oil is about 120 calories, so let's do some math. Orange chicken was the shadiest thing I've ever seen and I take backroads. This wasn't even chicken. No hyperbole. I thought it was raw, so I put it in my oven. But no, it wasn't raw, it was cartilage. I don't know how to explain it, there was no chicken meat in it. When I first took a bite I thought it was fish. Then I bit in again and got some weird chicken joint, cartilage, skin... I don't know. All I know is that I threw it out, and I will eat pretty much anything.

Seth M.

Yelp
I wish I would have read the Yelp reviews before ordering from GrubHub. I'm not sure if the food was good or not because they didn't send forks to our hotel delivery. The order was about $75.00. Enough to feed a family of 4 or 5. I called to let them know we needed more than just TWO packs of soy sauce and needed forks. Whomever answered was very argumentative and clearly illustrated the customer is never right in NYC. Order elsewhere. Mark my word. This place will be out of business in less than six months.

Danielle S.

Yelp
Zero Stars! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! Things that were wrong: 1. Estimated delivery time 30-45 minutes. My order took 90 min. 2. The chicken was SO hard that I broke 2 forks trying to take my first bite. 3. There was 1 piece of broccoli in my dish. 4. The fried rice did not contain a single vegetable. It was just mushy disgusting rice. I called for a refund and was told that a manager would get back to me "when he felt like it." Do not waste your time or money on this place!

Glory V.

Yelp
Ordered from here on 1/22/2018 and the food was not the best at all! The rice tasted like it had been inside the box for a while. The beef and broccoli was also not the best! All in all this restaurant, I would never recommend.

Rian Sabelle G.

Yelp
Bad food! Ordered pad Thai, doesn't even taste one. And the delivery guy is so rude! I was disappointed!

Meiyee W.

Yelp
Hm...this maybe be one of those times when checking Yelp can be quite handy..I decided to give this place a try on a late night after work, and order the Singapore chow mei fun with chicken. Note, they were having a special promotion of 20% of everything on the menu. I sense good efforts of advertisement. The guy was very polite, and my food was made rather quickly. Now, the Singapore dish is something that I normally get in a Chinese restaurant, and compared to the others, I would agree that it is more on the greasy side. Besides that, it also seems to be less of the ingredients such as the chicken and pork with the noodles. At the end, it was good but definitely not near the best that I've had. Four stars because I believe there's potential to get better.

Marcella M.

Yelp
I feel strongly enough about my disappointment that I created a yelp account just to tell you. We ordered chow mein which was wildly disappointing and inedible. It looked like slimy vegetables in some type of grey sauce. When we called to complain she basically told us to live with it. There were no noodles in the chow mein, just slimy vegetables. It came with a wonton soup, tasted like dirty dishwater with noodles in it and fried rice, that was dry and disappointing. Its hard to find good Chinese food in the city. But if you're looking, don't go here. To end on a positive note the orange chicken was not terrible.

Matthew M.

Yelp
I love this place--fast, simple, and cheap. When you're looking for quick/easy combo platters ~$8 you can't beat it!

Lee C.

Yelp
The word "hangry" is what Aaron's has caused me to become. I have been waiting for my delivery for 90 minutes without a sign of the grub anywhere. The phone line does not work, so do not even try to call them. When the delivery man called he told me that he was in the lobby, so my assistant left the board meeting to go to the lobby: no delivery man. It blows my mind that these places are still in business. Do not order from here.

Nadia B.

Yelp
Thanks but no thanks. Pink chicken (to me looked and tasted uncooked). Red curry was NOT thai red curry... it was just something else (I couldn't even tell you). The wonton soup had a broth that just tasted old. NEVER again.

Shane W.

Yelp
Ordered delivery, was told 30-45 minutes, food arrived closer to 90 minutes later. The fried pork dumpling were a little too doughy for me. Wonton soup wasn't bad, and was probably the standout in an otherwise boring meal, though the broth could have used a bit more flavor (either pork and/or salt). Neither my roommate nor I were impressed by the mushu pork. I wanted a taste of something a little different (i.e., not typical American Chinese takeout), so I got the roast pork hunan-schezuan style. Mind you, hunan and schezuan (sichuan) are different styles altogether, but it became quite clear that the restaurant tagged these dishes with these labels just to indicate that they are somewhat spicy. What you get is slices of roast pork covered in a somewhat-spicy reddish-brown sauce. The sauce is nothing like you'd actually get from a true hunan or schezuan restaurant nor as fiery. Bottom line: long wait, mediocre food.

Ryco N.

Yelp
My order never came. I spoke with the restaurant directly 5 times and every time they assured me it was on the way. After 2.5 hours they informed me that they couldn't get a hold of their delivery guy and had no idea where the order was. I asked if they had more than 1 delivery guy and they said they had 3. I asked if they could make the order and give it to another delivery person to drop off and they said no. After 3 hours I made myself dinner. I highly recommend against this place as they lied directly to me multiple times.

Paul M.

Yelp
This restaurant has set up multiple accounts on Seamless posing as other restaurants to avoid their bad reviews. Not only is it fraud but is harmful to the legitimate restaurant. If you get sick you don't know where the food is actually coming from! Call the restaurant you want to order from directly to avoid this happening and not the number on Seamless!

Richard L.

Yelp
Its a chinese Thai fast food place...so it's expectations are somewhat skewed towards the amerian asian food (which is what it is.) So with that - the food is alright since you don't actually stay there to eat. I had the lunch special and since it's their relative grand opening - they offer 20% off the entire menu, including the lunch specials. At 7.50, but with 20% off it's like 6 and change after tax and you get a ton of food. Whatever you order, plus rice, veggie fried rice or pork fried rice, and soup or a soda (or maybe an egg roll i'm not sure) and each thing you get is a ton of food. It's not terrible, but not amazing - and in my opinion it's food is pretty standard across american asian food, even if it's some sort of pan-asian fusion.

zippy p.

Yelp
Its nowhere near the best. I didn't get diarrhea so its not the worse. Been there 2x. Its cheap & fast. They're also doing 20% off. I had asked for Roast pork noodles but got Beef instead. The fried rice is literally soy sauce added to the rice with few pieces of egg tossed in. I mean really... no carrots, peas, onion or a few bean sprouts? The curry beef had 1/2 a large onion. Beef portion was good with green peppers. Curry flavor was good. You can't go wrong with beef and broccoli but the broccoli was a bit over cooked. They give you a free water or soda. 2 ppl I paid $14 total and that's with tax. We were full. Don't know if I'll ever go again but when you want cheap, fast and good portion this place is it.

Priscilla R.

Yelp
I order here ALL the time I also always tell people to order from here.....on 1-15-17 your delivery man was so rude helped himself to my food I had out YES HE ATE MY FOOD he snatched the receipt out of the girls hands and was disgustingly rude!! I will never order from you guys again because of this!! Such ashame

Eliza S.

Yelp
this took 2 hours for my delivery. im so upset.

Mark R.

Yelp
Just terrible. The general taos chicken was the worst ive ever eaten. The pork fried rice was a mystery. With the amount of places in nyc, you can do better. Hard to believe this place is still in business.

LaTalullah L.

Yelp
NEVER GOT MY LUNCH. DELIVERY GUY WOULDN'T DELIVER IT. FAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFAILFA IWould have loved to have tried this. Instructions were on the order for the delivery to come to the 15th floor. The delivery guy was told by security to come up. He called me four times and said 'you come to the lobby" and hung up on me when I told him to come to the 15th floor. I called the restaurant twice to tell them to call him to come up. They didn't. Then he left. Order cancelled.
