Where to Eat Calamari in Monterey County | Eater

"Another Old Fisherman’s Wharf institution, Abalonetti Bar & Grill has also been around since the 1950s, but takes a different approach to squid. The name actually refers to the word for squid when it’s prepared like abalone: skinned, split, pounded until tender, then breaded and fried. Abalonetti Bar & Grill serves calamari about a dozen different ways, including fried and tossed in buffalo sauce, sauteed in white wine and garlic, and char-grilled calamari filets on top of fried eggplant, marinara, mozzarella, and parmesan." - Annalise Mantz

Needed a reprieve from walking so stopped in for a quick bite; we were seated right away. Unfortunately, our table wasn’t completely in the shade and it got hot very quickly. We loved the outdoor area, but dining furniture clearly needed a refresh. The service was friendly enough, but slow and disorganized. We ordered a side of fries, calamari appetizer and a California shrimp cocktail. The fries were crispy and well seasoned. The calamari was tender, crispy and also well seasoned. The shrimp cocktail wasn’t what we expected; it was more a Mexican style shrimp cocktail versus the traditional poached & chilled shrimp served with cocktail sauce. It didn’t matter to us either way as we like both ways. The cocktail however, needed more heat. We thought the shrimp were too small; it got lost in all the other flavors and it ate a little slimy. For our beverages, we ordered a soda, old fashioned & an IPA. The old fashioned tasted fine but not the best. We paid $81.45 (with tip) which seemed reasonable, but definitely will check out other places next time we are in the area.

We arrived for our Open Table reservation- the proprietress had difficulty with the reservation. We had requested a window table. There was one set up but it was for a larger party. After some pleading on our part, we got the table and the larger setup was moved (that party never showed up). The place was pretty empty, so I don't understand why we were given hard time fulfilling our request. We started with a shared cup of chowder which was hot and tasty. The rest of the food was just okay. My boyfriend had fish & chips which were fine, except that the kitchen used a panko breading instead of the traditional batter. (Traditional is far better) I had the salmon salad. The salad was very lackluster and the salmon was over seasoned. Our waiter started off great but faded away after we received our dishes. He did show us a fun trick with our wine cork (see photo). Since there were so few patrons, the dining room was quiet. Not a horrible experience, but I would not go back.

HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT, the waiter came only 20 minutes after we sat down at the table. She took the order for drinks and left with such a disdainful expression on her face, after 10 minutes of talking with the bartender she returned to take the order, after some time she brought a plate with lemon for 2 pastas, something similar to a quarter of a lemon, but the problem is not only this but also that it was lying on a DIRTY plate, after another 20 minutes they brought the order. and just as we were about to start eating, I noticed that I didn't have any utensils, and I politely asked the waitress to bring me a fork, to which she left with a displeased expression and brought me a dirty fork not wrapped in a serving napkin, just in her hands holding the part that I was supposed to eat, unfortunately I didn't have time to examine the others, because my family was hungry and started eating, after which I asked the kitchen assistant to bring me a new fork, he brought a fork that was already wrapped, it wasn't very clean at the time, but I had already resigned myself to it, because I wanted to eat faster and go home to rest, but then the next surprise awaited us, my wife found metal shavings in her seafood pasta. to which I asked to call the manager, they told me I had to wait, after which after some time the bartender came, listened and asked “how can I compensate for this incident”, immediately after this question the waitress came and he immediately ran away, she collected the plates and left with such an expression on her face as if it wasn’t them who had ruined my evening, but I who wanted to feed her something dirty and it’s not clear what to feed her

This food was phenomenal!!! Best calamari in california for sure! The service was lovely!! They had a little issue with figuring out who our server was(it was no big deal) but they still gave us a free calamari appetizer which was so sweet!! Our food all came out at the same time and I would recommend the Calamari Tacos 😁

We had an amazing experience, the food was delicious, I had fish and chips and the fish was fresh and the fries were crispy and delicious 🤤 there’s delicious veggie options! The waiter Mr Z (Zenón) was very nice, friendly, attentive and funny! ☺️

Visited the Fish & Chips Cafe right next door to the Abalonetti and found out they’re actually connected. The Bar and Grill is perfect for a cozy lunch inside but the Fish & Chips Cafe next door is perfect for a quick bite outside on the wharf. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was DELICIOUS. I ordered 5 fresh oysters for only $3.00 a piece, definitely couldn’t beat that. My daughters ordered the clam chowder bread bowls and devoured them! The bread was fresh and the soup was hot. We will definitely be returning next time we’re in Monterey.

First time visiting. Someone passing by said it was really good for the price so decided to try. Good thing we tried. It was so good. The service was excellent also. Would visit again.

I love this place. Great views of the bay plus their wood fired pizza is the best. They also have a “local “ menu that is much lower in price. My friend and I both got a pizza and an order to go. I got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and Bennie’s and she got salmo for around $14 both. The pizzas were $22. We were both happy.

Yelp
Walt from Walt's Adventures in the new 2026 year. I am adventuring in Monterey, California at Albalonetti Bar and Grill. This restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining... covered with heaters. There are many restaurants to choose from on the Wharf. I had last visited this establishment years prior. To my satisfaction, it was as great as I had remembered. The customer service was excellent, the food was good and I will be returning the next time I revisit the Bay.

Yelp
We were in Monterey, CA recently and in the mood for some clam chowder. The Monterey fishermen wharf was a good spot to find some good clam chowder in the area. We arrived at Abalonetti Bar and Grill for a Sunday lunch recently during the winter break. The restaurant is located at the historic Monterey fishermen wharf. Parking is accessible in the large paid parking lot and the street parking. The restaurant is fairly large inside with plenty of tables and a full bar. There is a big outdoor patio with heat lamps and tables for dining outdoors. The modern decor is simple, bright, and welcoming. There are some tables with beautiful views of the ocean and wharf. We ordered cups of clam chowder, roasted garlic with Italian cheese bread, margarita, and Chardonnay wine. Our clam chowder was delicious. There was a lot of chunks of clam and it went very well with the complementary fresh bread. The roasted garlic was buttery and flavorful. My margarita was refreshing and hit the spot. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Abalonetti Bar and Grill. The staff were friendly and helpful. The daily happy hour prices of our drinks were a nice touch. Glad we got to cross off another restaurant on the wharf that we got to try.

Yelp
******VERY DOGGO FRIENDLY**** Found them on the bring Fido app- if you ever wanna take your pup to lunch or dinner the wharf is the spot to go!!! Shrimp cocktail- yum- does have a lot of cocktail sauce which I love but if you don't- ask for it on the side! Scampi Monterey- utterly deliciousness cooked perfect! Captains platter - a perfectly cooked taste of everything! Extra shrimp cocktail hold the cocktail sauce for the pup as well as the chicken special served on a frisbee that he could keep! Service was top notch- friendly and so welcoming! Absolutely wonderful! Food came hot and fast (keep in mind freshly cooked so not 5min fast but fresh made fast) And we enjoyed a lovely meal with our furfamily! Absolutely going back on our next road trip!

Yelp
We were in town for the weekend and wanted a seafood lunch with a view but dog friendly. Unfortunately there were not as many dog friendly restaurants as I had expected, but Abalonetti did! They also have an enclosure with glass windows that helps with the cold wind of Monterey. They also have water bowls and water for the pups outside. I wasn't sure what to expect with the so-so reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. We asked to be seated with the heater and our waitress created a table setting for us with the heater quickly. We started with their famous calamari and Baja calamari and a dozen oysters along with cocktails. These were brought out promptly as we arrived right when they opened. They definitely do live up to their winning calamari as it was perfectly tender and fried. It's not your typical rings and tentacles or filet, but we all really enjoyed it. The oysters were just okay, there was not much brine and very dry. I'm also not a fan of huge oysters and these were much bigger than we thought as they said they were small oysters from Canada. Their complimentary bread basket was also very yummy. Most of us ordered the crab salad sandwich and my sister ordered the Captain's fried platter. These also came out right as we finished our appetizers. Their fries are my favorite, with that extra seasoned batter. The crab sandwich was pretty good though the brioche bread to ratio of crab salad is not even. The bread also had a funny smell/taste to me, so I didn't eat most of the bread which was fine. The fried fish on the Captain's platter was small and too thin compared to other places. I had noted it was a birthday at our table in our Open Table reservation and they brought out a complimentary slice of cheesecake. Very nice of them! Service was great from beginning to end by our our server, Sammy and the hostess. We would definitely come back, especially for their calamari!

Yelp
Stopped in for a small bite and drink. Not too busy Sunday afternoon off season. Waiter recommended shrimp cocktail which was surprisingly robust and quite nice. Enjoyed the outdoor breeze, was a bit chilly though. Prices are about the same if not slightly lower than other areas of the dock.

Yelp
The calamari and the pizza were the stand out items for our lunch. Service was a bit slow for a restaurant that was less than half full. The first table we sat at outside was very unstable so we moved to the adjacent table with no issue. They should maintenance that table. Pizza was crisped up well and the mozzarella was high quality. I had the blackened salmon salad which was uninspiring, but adequate given what I was looking for. The calamari was some of the better squid we've had on this trip and the fries are well seasoned and crispy. It was reasonably priced.

Yelp
Customer service was horrible once it came to paying. We paid in cash and was going to leave the change as a tip along with some more money, as soon as they took the bill the older woman said she would bring back our change and never did until we requested it. She then responded with "I thought you were leaving it for your server" and left a smart comment saying "fine i'll bring you back your five dollars" and walked off shaking her head. We still left a tip regardless, food was great but no matter how small the change is we should get it back.

Yelp
Service was great. Food was mediocre. Clam chowder came out lukewarm and unseasoned. crab cakes were too greasy and overpriced. Garlic bread also came out cool. Will probably not come back

Yelp
This place has been consistent for my family over the years. We started coming here in 2018 and it's a stop we try to make every time we come through town. It's a pretty casual place with a minimum frills look, but it's nicer than most places without being stuffy. The antipasto platter is fantastic. We typically order the half size for two people and it is more than enough. However, it is only $5 more for the whole! It's such a great value and start to a meal. We are creatures of habit here, so we typically get that, and then my husband orders the seafood penne which is flavorful and full of seafood in a rose sauce. My order changes on occasion but the past few times i've stuck with the lobster ravioli with grilled shrimp in a pesto cream sauce and it is fantastic. So filling. So much lobster too! That pesto cream is so rich and delish too. I could drool just thinking about it. I always joke that i ask for the table bread just so i can sop up all that good sauce. The other great thing about this spot is the customer service. We have been there when its crowded on a spring weekend, and we've been there when its a quiet Tuesday night. No matter when we go it is always a delightful experience and everyone is engaging, helpful, and customer oriented. They truly treat customers like valued family.

Yelp
They specialize in calamari dishes. They have at least 6 calamari items on the menu which is fun. The char-grilled calamari filets was really good. They prepared the mini Monterey calamari in white wine sauce with carrots, peppers, zucchini and tomato. I'd definitely order it again if I came back. The wine list is limited but very affordable. They don't have many local ones. Servers were all very friendly.

Yelp
Our server Joe was amazing tonight. Can't say enough good things about him, he was super personable, very attentive to all of his tables, and just enjoys life. We're traveling into Monterey and really rely on reviews when deciding where to eat, this place didn't disappoint! We were looking for somewhere with a locals vibe. We have our dog with us and a dog friendly place is extremely important to us, we love a restaurant that goes above and beyond with everything but especially dogs. Brought her water, a frisbee plate of food, and the dog menu was so cute! They're a huge part of our life, more places should adopt this! Besides that, food was super delicious and fast to come out. 10/10 Abalonetti! Thanks for making Monterey memorable! The only feedback I have is transparency with upsells would be nice! Sometimes things were offered and it got confusing if it was included. Still didn't affect the service.

Yelp
The Monterey Fishermans wharf has so many places to choose from for good food and this place is one of my favorites! It has the most amazing Sicilian bread salad. Super fresh tasting, with artichoke hearts, feta cheese, tomatoes, fresh basil and delicious chunks of Sicilian bread- heavenly! I add Bay Shrimp to it as well. This place has a great ambience and service. Tables right along the water, and a fantastic bar. I've also had the clam chowder, chef's kiss! I love the California shrimp cocktail as well. Good place to take a group of people!

Yelp
The location earns this place an extra star, but this was a sad birthday lunch for me after a stroll down the pier looking for a place that had less than an hour late. So, location on the pier is lovely, and lots of seating for larger parties. The happy hour cocktails enticed us in but the margaritas tasted of pure sour mix and the wine and beer offerings were pretty bottom tier--again, to be expected for a tourist spot with a cheap happy hour. But then the food came and... meh. I don't think anybody actually finished their meal and the quality of ingredients just felt too far below the price point. A friend's caprese salad was piled with olives (I have never heard of olives on a caprese!) and another friend's crab sandwich was mostly mayo and it wasn't clear from the menu that it was a crab SALAD sandwich. I got a sampler of fried foods and again, for the price I expected more. Service was friendly but we would have ordered far more drinks (maybe not the happy hour ones though) had they visited us more often. The one standout was the calamari. Apparently this place is know for calamari and for good reason--with the quality of the rest of the meal I was scared, but they were tender without being chewy, perfectly seasoned, and just delicious. I wish my whole sampler had been calamari. Overall, I'll probably skip this next time and take my chances with one of the restaurants with the long wait.

Yelp
This is our favorite restaurant at old fisherman's wharf! We've been coming here since 2021. The chicken parm never disappoints and the staff is always so welcoming.

Yelp
Slim pickings for food on the pier, and some don't allow strollers/kids, so this brought us to Abalonetti's for a quick dinner after the aquarium. The staff were nice but nothing about the place really stood out. They put us into the corner, which was fine since we had a stroller but there were HELLA flies around. This was so off putting but the flies didn't attack us, so we stayed put. They were just kind swarmed in specific areas, so weird. We got the clam chowder in a bread bowl, fried calamari, and linguine in alfredo with chicken added in. The clam chowder was fine, not bad, not great. Price was about $20 which is what it will cost you everywhere else on the pier. The tartar sauce they serve with the calamari was sooooo goood. It tasted home made and had lots of chunks in it, which I love. The calamari was good and tender but it was a small portion compared to other places. The pasta itself was cooked well but the sauce was so thin and watery. I stirred and stirred and stirred but it didn't thicken up at all. It wasn't flavorful and we had to add a bunch of black pepper into it to liven things up. I actually ended up spooning some chowder into it, which helped tremendously. It's a decent meal, but not one I'd return for specifically.

Yelp
We came late and had planned to go elsewhere but the wait was too long. Upon entering, no one greeted us for approximately 5 minutes even though staff were everywhere. We began to leave which is when we were greeted and taken to a table. The service was subpar. Our appetizers (calamari and garlic bread) came before our drinks and we had ordered 3 corona bottles and one glass of wine. The food surprised me and was actually decent. The ravioli was a bit chewy but the flavor was great. Pretty noisy but not bad.
google avatar

Bobbi Michelle W.

Yelp
Damn! The bartender is a solid professional: ice tea and lemonade cocktail beer. Runs a tight bar inclusive of food timelines and to go packaging A scholar & a gentleman
google avatar

Emma C.

Yelp
The staff were quick with the order and there was a good mix of sweet and savory natural flavors. Great for gluten free diets. The large size I ordered was huge.
google avatar

Kelly N.

Yelp
Right on the fisherman's wharf. Food and service were good. You can order a bottle of wine, and since they also sell by the glass, you can send it back, choose another if you don't like it. We didn't do that but nice to know.
google avatar

Yelp
I was a little disappointed after my visit here. I really enjoyed my cup of clam chowder which is an obvious staple when I'm in Monterey, but my entree of a Caesar salad with shrimp was below average. I'm not gonna lie, being on the ocean I expected large grilled shrimp. But what I was brought was a big handful of tiny steamed shrimps just thrown on top of the salad. I was obviously confused and the waitress told me I should have asked for prawns, but when she brought me the menu to basically show me I was wrong-- there were no "prawns" on the menu. Just shrimp. Two of my other guests got pizza and were really disappointed in the quality, we all agreed the cheese had a really off flavor. The other guest did enjoy their calamari plate! I don't think we'd come back.
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Read about this place having great fried foods, but ultimately didn't do a sit down dinner. We opted for garlic fries for take out, and it ended up being around $9 and some change after tax. They came out relatively fast. Glad we were in and out during dinner time since I didn't quite feel for the interior... the ambiance was not there. Other than that the garlic fries were super good -- you can taste that the garlic is fresh and local from Gilroy (their other items on the menu with garlic state they source their garlic from Gilroy). It was a nice appetizer while we were waiting for our actual dinner at a different location on the wharf.

Yelp
Retuned last week. Not much has changed still on the good list would go back pier looking a little run down

Yelp
I had some friends in town and wanted to show them our local hospitality. We ordered drinks, soup and food. The soup was tepid. the my martini pour was very disappointing. And when i asked where the salmon was from, the waiter said Monterey Bay. There hasn't been commercial salmon fishing in California for 3 years! I didn't want to call him out on it so i let it go. What happened to this place???
google avatar

Taylor M.

Yelp
The location is great. They allow dogs in outdoor seating and bring a bowl of water for them and offer food for them for $5. Staff is friendly and welcoming. As far as food goes the calamari was great everything else was just ok. The "happy hour" is all day and really just half sized drinks. We wouldn't come back for food here.
google avatar

Jasmin I.

Yelp
Not worth it. Nothing tasted good except the wine. Even the bread was awful. Oysters no. Seafood pasta no.
google avatar

Yelp
Quick service and fresh seafood and delicious cocktails on the fisherman's wharf. Casual ambiance for lunch or dinner

Yelp
this place is decent, theres alot of places to choose from in this area, was not busy when there but was getting busy when leaving so about 5pm on a Saturday. Garlic bread appetizer was really good!
google avatar

Corliss L.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the crab sandwich was not good. The bread was too thick so each bite was primarily the bun + flavors of caesar salad/parmesan and lettuce. The parmesan was mixed into the crab so each bite was overwhelmingly parmesan flavored. It came with fries which were crispy. We also had the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl which was okay. The chowder was fine and tasted good but the sourdough bread bowl was a little stale. Water was nice with a touch of lemon and the view was great. Service was friendly as well.
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
Stopped by with my family on a Wednesday afternoon so it was pretty empty and we were seated quickly. Service was great, friendly staff. Gave 3 stars for food. Calamari was really good. Clam Chowder was good, but the bread bowl was not. The sourdough bread tasted/felt stale. My niece had the Fish & Chips and gave it a 7/10, and the French Fries 10/10.
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Abalonetti is an institution in Monterey, with over 50 years of service. While the food isn't the best seafood you'll get, it's the ambiance and nostalgia that makes for a fun experience. The calamari was well-made: light, crispy, and not too oily: I wish the platters were bigger, so more could be shared! Crab cakes were okay, but charging $15+ for two dinky cakes is kind of a rip-off: we had to order a second plate for everyone to have a bite. The clam chowder sourdough bread bowl was humongous, but hearty: the chowder got overly salty in the end, but the sourdough bread was nice and crusty to soak it all up. Overall, not the best food, but a fun vibe!
google avatar

Serena Z.

Yelp
I ordered the pork chop and a medium-cooked steak, but both were severely overcooked. The exterior was charred to the point of bitterness, with unappetizing blackened patches. The meat itself was dry and tough--especially the pork chop, which lacked any semblance of juiciness. It was so excessively chewy and leathery that it felt like eating something fossilized. The linguine Alfredo was passable, though its presentation was Instagram-worthy at best. Unfortunately, the overall experience ruined my entire day--far from the satisfying meal I'd hoped for.
google avatar

Linda K.

Yelp
Located in an Old Fisherman Wharf, this place has great sitting area with great selections of food. The Abalonetti Calamari Meal is great except the rice was too bland. The calamari was very soft and crunchy. The Chicken parmesan was also crunchy and delicious. Last but least, the creamy clam chowder bread was fantastic and kinda large in portion. Service was flawless and swift. The staff was attentive and ensured we have everything we need. Our dog also was happy with dog menu chosen - chicken breast. Overall our dining experience was pleasant. The signature menu - Calamari is a must menu when dine in here.

Yelp
We really wanted to try the local spot for calamari and get a classic clam chowder bread bowl so we stopped by. We decided to try their buffalo calamari and it truly was the best we had ever had. It was very soft and delicious unlike any other from where we are from. The bread bowl was very good as well. We decided to stop here as their prices were more affordable and were not looking to sit down at a restaurant. Our server was very friendly and informative as well!

Yelp
Such a great experience! We came here for my boyfriend's birthday and we do not regret it. The customer service was amazing and our waiter was the best! We ordered the special they were offering at the time and the Cioppino with a Pineapple Mimosa, so delicious. We ate basically every bite! We recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice and the inside was super cute, I wish I took more pictures. We will definitely be coming back when we're visiting Monterey again! Highly recommend! :D

Yelp
The calamari was delicious which is the reason I'm not giving one star. The server and staff were friendly but do not order the scampi. It's not even close to a shrimp scampi. (The shrimp is not in the photo because it's the only thing I could eat) the artichoke hearts were rubbery. The lack of seasoning was appalling and curry rice in a shrimp scampi?? This oily mess tasted of nothing but green onion water on rice.

Truth K.

Yelp
The waiter was fantastic! The patio was dog friendly which I loved! The calamari is delicious along with the crab raviolis. I'm not a huge antipasto fan so I thought it was fair. Our waiter was very accommodating and on it!

Yelp
Located just south of Cannery Row on the Old Fisherman's Wharf, Abolinetti has the classic charm of a Pacific Coast seaside bar and grill you might find in any town. We came for this atmosphere specifically. I have a weak spot for Clam Chowder in a Sourdough bowl, nearly impossible to find anywhere near where I live, but difficult do do wrong in California. We also ordered a Napolitan pizza, which had a delicious, watery quality to the toppings. Calamari Tacos were an interesting and tasty treat dish as well. It was a bit chilly for outdoor seating, so we sat inside by a large window and enjoyed the sunlight coming in. A bird actually flittered in the restaurant and wandered about on the floor. The view was o the channel between the wharf and the shore. The wharf itself is not on open sea, but surrounded by a marina. It has a carnival-like collection of businesses, heavy with candy stores. Service was expected for a bar and grill. he food came out quickly and was hot and tasty. If we return to this part of Monterey, I would repeat.

Yelp
Best place for breaded calamari on Fisherman's wharf in Monterey. Arrived here on a Saturday at 430pm. Place virtually empty due to adverse weather. Came here because we had a coupon for a free appetizer. Probably could ask for the complimentary chef's appetizer, as most restaurants have such a deal, and it's always breaded calamari. Beautiful restaurant setting on the bay with large room with windows all around, showing the harbor and bay. Meals come with complimentary bread, a rarity nowadays. The $12 bowl of clam chowder was up to the high standards of the region, very creamy with potatoes and clams. At least 12 ounces in a good sized portion. The complimentary breaded calamari came with about a dozen calamari, covered with a light panko breading, with tartar sauce and cocktail ketchup on the side. Perfect blend of just enough breading to give it taste, and chunks of cooked calamari, not rubbery. Wife enjoyed her scampi Monterey, with at least 10 shrimp mixed in with yellow rice, tomatoes, bell peppers, and artichoke skins, something you don't see too often. Needless to say, wife loves artichokes. I had the $20 Abalonetti calamari, very similar to the appetizer, with yellow rice and vegetables. Huge portion of breaded calamari, but I ate everything in both the appetizer and this dish. Would have preferred the tartar sauce and ketchup cocktail sauce, compared to the butter creamy sauce. They have a $4.95 dog menu, although you would not want to eat outdoors today, as rainy with high gusty winds would freeze your fingers.

Yelp
The seafood pasta is great Pasta cooked eldente and sauce had plenty of seafood and flavor. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the meal. This is our second time eating at this restaurant!

Yelp
This was the only place still open when we got back from the sunset whale cruise that I I went on. I was able to get a nice cup of clam chowder to end the night. Thank you for being open and willing to sell me some soup.

Yelp
What a nice little restaurant. Very good customer service and yummy food! The bread was crazy delicious! . Nice wine and we had the grilled salmon with spinach and mashed potatoes (the mashed potatoes were pretty bland) but the salmon was very tasty. We also had the lobster ravioli- whoa! So perfectly cooked!

Yelp
Burger way overcooked, asked for no cheese - came with cheese - they didn't do anything about it. Food subpar compared to other seafood I've had in the past. Rockfish was good, spinach bland, good mashed potatoes. Angel hair crab pasta with white wine sauce was pretty soupy. Flavor was fine nothing crazy. Crab sandwich was fine, probably wouldn't order again.

Yelp
We had a great experience! Love that is dog friendly with a dog menu. We had the lobster raviolis that were 10/10 And the waiter was really nice and friendly!

Yelp
Food was fresh and good quality, plus a large portion. I had the calamari and fries. The calamari was NOT overcooked, which is rare. Beer flight and margarita were also great, $10 each. The jumbo shrimp and fries were also well fried, not greasy. I had my dog with me, so we ate on their patio which was nice because it was segregated from the rest of the wharf. So, we weren't surrounded by all the people and other dogs while we ate. The service was good, just a little slow. The pricing is a little high, but it was at least good.

Yelp

Yelp
I consider myself an Oysters fanatic and have eaten thousands of oysters in my lifetime. However, the oysters Rockefeller I ordered recently turned out to be the worst thing I have ever eaten. I regretted it immediately and almost threw up afterwards. Given the abundance of good seafood options in the area, I would advise against making the same mistake I did by going here.

Yelp
Made a trip out to Monterey and stopped at the wharf because we were craving calamari. It was our first time trying Abalonetti, Matt was our server and made the entire experience a great one! Food is tasty and flavorful, we shared gnochi along with calamari and several cocktails. Service was fantastic! I enjoyed both savory sauces you get with the gnocchi. My dog was very pleased with her grilled chicken which was served in a souvenir frisbee for just $4.95! Absolutely adorable!. All the drinks were tasty and we enjoyed them while watching the seals from the patio window. So much fun, we will back for sure!
