Thank you very much. Thanks to you, I will keep good memories of my first trip to NYC. I can't wait to come back and visit you. The food is great. Jack's cocktails are the best 💕 The owner and Martin were also very nice!!! From the french girl 🇲🇫😘

We originally stopped by because the bar’s name is spelled like my daughter’s name, which is rare to find. Great beer and atmosphere but the best part was meeting our authentically Irish bartender named Shauna!!!!! Loved learning all about Ireland from her!!!

Google
This place has a helluva draught beer selection, lotsa space, and great energy for game night. The beer list is full of normal prices but the food menu is astronomically - comical - expensive. $35 for an appetizer sampler? Yeah right. $16 for a handful of pigs in a blanket? Not a chance. I’d go here again for a beer or two in a heartbeat, but it’s definitely not a place to spend the whole night at — or else you’ll be spending your whole paycheck.

We are from Canada and visited Abbeys over New Years 2023. Service was great and owner (Kathleen, hope I spelled it correctly) was super friendly and made us feel welcome each night we visited. She made it a point to come and speak to us every time we went in and even bought us a beer each! The food was amazing and fairly priced. Service was prompt and consistent. They even had our brands of beer which can be hard to find in New York. We had a great time multiple times over 5 days and would recommend Abbey's to everyone if visiting New York. Thank you Abbeys Tavern for having us! ❤️

The waitress was very sweet and quick. We didn’t have to wait long for food or drinks. I love how crispy the mozzarella sticks were ( try it, you’ll like it). This is definitely a spot to hang out for lunch, dinner, or to watch a game. I will be going back.

My son and I met up with a friend here while on a trip to NYC. Our friend frequents The Abbey and highly suggested that where we meet. After just walking in the door, I understood why. Immediately, you feel welcomed and it only got better! Our server was great with service! The owner, Kathaleen went around to every table checking to make sure everyone had everything they needed and how their service was. When she came to our table and spoke with us, it was like speaking to an old friend that I just saw last week. The food was perfect. Service was 110%. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would. I will definitely go back to The Abbey whenever I make it back up to NYC. I highly recommend this place to everyone!!!

Good for happy hour. It's a grill tasting burger. The wings were delicious. The french fries was real potatoes fries. Prices was nice for happy hour.

Took the train in from CT for lunch with friends.Stopped by yesterday to this great place. Freddie was our bartender and met our friend Kathleen the manager again. This place is a hidden gem on 26th and 3rd av. The food was great and the service by Freddie was first class. What a great asset to your place of business. This is our 4th time here and just keeps getting better and better. Every trip in to the city should start with cocktail and food here. Great menu and prices for NYC.

Yelp
The melting pot sirloin steak sandwich was so tender and flavorful substitute the fries with coleslaw and was well worth it. Staff friendly and cheerful with a full bar still had time to explain things. Window seats was fun people watching and all the dog walkers with their herds. Great afternoon and yes TV on for the Mets a plus for the crowd

Yelp
I've been going here for over 30 years. Well, to be fair I used to go here a lot 30 years ago when I worked in the area. The food was always very good and it had a quiet atmosphere. That has changed as it's transformed itself into a sports bar. Very little of what I used to come here for still exists and frankly the nostalgia I had for the location is gone as well. What remains it a decent place to watch sports, get a drink and some appetizer types snacks. It's not a place to come for a quiet dinner anymore. It's a loud sports bar and for those that like that...it's terrific. It's just not for me. The staff however is friendly and the service is quite good. The food itself is tasty, but nothing special.

Cristina J.

Yelp
Awesome bar, friendly service, perfect spot to watch sports and have a good time. Great size and plenty of seating. Lots of tvs all around every corner you look which made it great to watch the Knicks play. Food was great as well and the drinks were perfect.

Yelp
My wife and I had been walking around the city for a while when hunger started settling in, so we spotted the Abbey Tavern up ahead and decided to give it a try. The place is a little bigger inside than I would have guessed from the outside, and is also a bit brighter than most Irish pubs in the area. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by Geoff, the bartender, who shook our hands, introduced himself, and got our names -- which he used every time he addressed us after that. While deciding on food, I had a house gin and tonic, which was just as refreshing as a G&T should be after walking all over Manhattan. The wife and I decided to split an order of the sliders and fries, which were good enough that I was kind of wishing I had gotten my own order. I washed down my food with their house Abbey Lager, which was pretty crisp and refreshing. If I lived nearby, I'm pretty sure this would become my regular watering hole.

Yelp
Abbey is a good sports bar - a great place to watch University of Maryland games. The staff is friendly, the set up for sports games is great. During big games, they play the games' sound which is a plus for sports fans. During week days, the bar has a lot of events like trivia and mixed tape bingo. For food, it's expensive for the portion and the quality. The potato skins are really great and we enjoy the mozzarella sticks. The burgers are decent - but note that they're ~$17-$20 and do not come with fries. I would definitely not suggest getting the Guinness French onion soup ($10) (see photo as to how it's served). Otherwise, we typically like this spot for a chiller environment to watch sports with a decent crowd in the neighborhood!

Laine W.

Yelp
Great gin and tonics, Baja fish tacos and homemade apple pie. Open air dining room very appealing to watch the world go by.

Yelp
Tuesday night, was wandering around the neighborhood looking for bars showing the game as well as serving food. This place fit the bill and just made it in before the kitchen closed. Decided on the Fish & Chips ($23) to go along with a draft beer ($7). Food arrives pretty quickly - a heaping pile of fries next to three wedges of battered fish. Piping hot, the breading itself took some time to cool down. Not much flavor on the outside; inside the fish is cooked well. Had to add a lot of ketchup and other condiments to balance the meal out. Fries are overall straight forward, a little on the dry side. Some side greens and tomatoes as well that didn't really go with the dish. Probably wouldn't get food here again since it was way overpriced for what it was. Did appreciate something to eat late at night and the plethora of TV's showing the games.

Bubba C.

Yelp
Incredibly Friendly staff !!! Great atmosphere Definitely visit them. Did not eat but would like to.

Yelp
I may have said this before, but I avoid Murray Hill like the plague that causes men's bowels to disgorge toads in slime, turns bellies into a nest of worms, and makes our throats brim with bile.* Mostly because a fair number of my friends from high school reside there, and nobody wants to see them unless absolutely necessary. Well, there have been several occasions when it has been absolutely necessary (mostly fantasy football related), and The Abbey made it not too terrible. The wings are decent (I prefer mine smaller and crispier), crap beer is affordable (especially the four Bud Light pitchers, 100 wings for $125 deal), and the service is actually great. Our waitress was Irish, and an efficient, fortuitously oblivious sweetheart. She turned a blind eye to our drunken antics, which included smashing each other in the face with toilet paper bombs (a mixture of shaving cream, toothpaste, and a lot of paper),** and said very little about the curses screamed, the punches thrown, eggs crushed, and the use of a substance I'm choosing not to mention as breath spray. So if you need a place to gather a bunch of idiots together and get drunk on light American beer and gorge on too many wings, The Abbey could just be the place. ______________ *Don't pretend like you don't know the toad-shitting, worm-eaten, bile-spitting plague of which I speak. **Don't worry we cleaned up after ourselves.

Yelp
From the start we were greeted by the bartender who had his own bar to care for and gestured that we may sit wherever we'd like. The place was very welcoming and warm from the start. After we sat he came over with water to start us off before our waitress came. She was very friendly and attentive, which I truly appreciate. The food was also phenomenal! Everything was fresh and they went out of their way to make the sautéed spinach for my friend. She enjoyed her meal so much! The food was delicious and the ambience was divided. The seats closest to the windows have more of a romantic and personal ambience but it does have a bar with a big screen tv behind it, so therefore there will be happy fans there. There's an area for every type of feel, casual, bar, romantic (personal). I like the tables closest to the window because of the nice street view, but please take a look for yourself. You won't regret walking in.

Yelp
Terrible experience at this place. My friends and I came in for drinks and food, and during our time here, the manager? was berating an employee in the back of the restaurant. There was screaming and bullying involved; and it just made everyone here feel very uncomfortable. My friend turned to the bartender and tried to make conversation to get around the palpable tension. The bartender sensed our discomfort (how could you not?) and apologized for what was occurring, and joked that unfortunately this kind of thing tended to happen all too often. After this died down, the manager? (owner? I hope not, because if this woman is just the manager, at least she can get fired) left, but then we all noticed a very heavy smell of cigarettes. My friend got up to use the bathroom, and noticed the manager just outside the door (This place apparently has a side entrance as well as the main entrance) smoking. A few minutes later, she came back in and totally reeked of stale cigarettes. Which is not pleasant to smell while you're trying to enjoy your food. In the meantime the rest of the staff was so nice, but there are so many bars and restaurants in this area with better ambiance (and less expensive comparable food), that it's not worth returning to Abbey.

Caitlin C.

Yelp
Love this place! We usually just come for drinks but we tried the food last night and we pleasantly surprised. Everything was so good, and we were especially impressed with the funnel cake fries!! I would highly recommend this place for the fun vibe and reasonably priced drinks.

Christian B.

Yelp
The premiere Phoenix Suns bar in NYC. Dermot and Alex kill it every night. Looking forward to spending the rest of the NBA finals here cheering on the Suns. And they have the best wings in Manhattan.

Adam S.

Yelp
Delivery guy was sent up to my apartment by doorman then just dropped my order and took off. No balls.

Yelp
The Abbey is such a great bar! I've been here for lunch, I've been here for dinner and drinks and to watch the game. The burger with homemade bacon jam is soooo good and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Great beers on tap. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. Did I mention they have a dj on Thursday nights? He's amazing and plays everything you could want to hear. I work nearby and pop in for the lunch specials regularly. Never a disappointment.

Alex H.

Yelp
I can't comment on the food, but as a watering hole, this was my go-to while I lived in Manhattan. Tons of TVs (including a few projectors) means that basically any game you want to watch will be on (or switched on for you). The bartenders are friendly and I spent more than a few hours making small talk. The beer and well prices are cheap for NY, and outside of huge events it's easy to find a seat. Almost forgot, during the summer they slide the glass windows away and it converts into a covered patio bar that can be comfortable even while the rest of the city is melting.

Al A.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant. I live nearby and stop by when I can. Love their chx soup and country omelet. The staff are friendly and professional.

Court L.

Yelp
Me and some friends came here after leaving the Museum of Sex gift shop. As it was hot as hell, the tavern was very nice and cool. The selection was great! We order a pitcher of Sam Adams summer ale (great beer btw) and had some appetizers and a lot lot lot lotttttttt of water lol. We also watched the World Cup on the back screen. It was again such a great experience and I had an amazing time there. Can't wait to go back again!

Kirtishri M.

Yelp
Great location tucked away in midtown. For a bar they actually have good food options, which include healthy power bowls. The burgers look very good also. Plenty of beer options. I've gone here to watch football and the TV situation can be a bit better. The service is prompt and reliable. I do agree that the place can be a little pricey, but overall a good place.

Luz M.

Yelp
Quick stop lunch for National Cheeseburger Day. It was pretty empty. Just a couple of customers and staff. The bartender greets you as soon as you walk in and so does the server. I had a cheeseburger with salad and tito's mule. It was pretty good for a quick lunch.

Patricia H.

Yelp
good service, tasty food...relaxed atmosphere...

Yelp
Late dinner after a late arrival to New York City. Ella, our waitress was very attentive and friendly. She was new but great at finding answers to our questions and recommendations for food. We shared the spinach & artichoke dip with warm chips. A nice size serving in its own cast iron dish. Then we shared the fish & chips. Plenty to share for two. Fresh fish. Crispy french fries. Ella explained most of the dishes were from the family owners own recipes.

Yelp
Awesome bar to watch sports in the Kips Bay area! They have a bunch of TVs with many different games on depending when you go. My boyfriend and I have been here a few different time to watch sports and while it always appears to be really busy, we have never had an issue getting a sport at the bar or a table for two. The food is typical bar so its yummy and they have a good selection of beer! I think it could be a little cheaper for some of the things you order ($16.95 for 12 wings seems a little pricey but oh well). Staff has always been friendly and food comes out quickly. I am happy that I found a solid sports bar on the same block as my apartment. It is definitely my go to when a good game is on!

Paulie P.

Yelp
Dirty taps, tons of flies and prices on menu are wrong. Disappointing to find out how overpriced things are not not when you get the bill. Items priced cheaper on menu than on bill.

Sylvia O.

Yelp
We were on our way to visit Tipsy Scoop but wanted to grab a bite to eat. We settled on going here. The bar is pretty spacious with a lot of natural lighting. They have tons of TVs which make it an ideal spot for sports games. We decided to sit in a booth which is larger than most. The waitress was attentive at first but the service slowly dwindled down. We barely got refills for water and wanted to order additional food but decided against it because of this. The highlight of the spot is the food. I had a steak sandwich on garlic bread which was heavenly! My mother had a pot pie and wife had wings. We all enjoyed our food and the fries are fresh with great seasoning. The also have some good happy hour specials that include food which is a bonus. If you are in the area the spot is worth a try at least for the happy hour.

Bridget C.

Yelp
Went on a Thursday night. The place was not crowded and we were able to be seated right away. Since the restaurant was very slow with patrons multiple waiters/waitresses were overly attentive checking on us. The food is typical bar food and has plenty of TVs if you are looking for an atmosphere to watch sporting event. Would recommend as an appetizer and drink place rather than a meal place.

T O.

Yelp
Phenomenal Espresso Martini - especially when made by Breffni (Pronounced Breff-ney). A perfect 10 (of EM) if ever there was one, despite being from Cavan (IYKYK). Great bar over all, looking forward to the Kerry Flag being hoisted in September. Also tried the Shepherds Pie - ask your server and with a quick rye smile you may just get the adequate amount of mash for a muck savage, though highly plentiful for even the hungriest of regular individuals.

Yan T.

Yelp
I was meeting my buddy at The Mad Hatter across the street for the Manchester Darby, but the place was so packed and intense that I had to switch to a saner venue when the gf arrived. Luckily this bar was right across the street. I didn't expect too much from Abbey, but it turned out to be a proper Irish pub with animated bar tenders and good food and beer. The Irish breakfast was just right, and my lady enjoyed the huevos rancheros. They also put the Tottenham game on the telly for us (there was barely a soul when we walked in, and all the TVs were obviously tuned to City-ManU). It was nice being able to actually watch my team, and they kept us well-watered with beer and brunch beverages. The crowd started picking up for the football games, and while I didn't stay for the whole Jets game, it looks like a good place to do so.

Ginette P.

Yelp
We were in to be in the area & between the few places on this block this one called our attention more. Came in once seated we started with some drinks Yuengling & Pumpkin beer were the choices for the night always enjoy Yuengling good tasting beer the pumpkin beer was good as well. Main meal I had the Penne ala vodka pretty good nice tasting sauce w prosciutto & mozzarella good portion as well. My friend had the Chicken avocado club sandwich w fries good sandwich , nice tasting chicken w the avocado, pretty good fries. The restaurant itself is a good size plenty of seating , lots of TV's to catch the game. During the games it can get very loud not that big of a deal but can get pretty hard to talk amongst yourself. Service was good , prices are reasonable we enjoyed our drinks & meal.

Victoria A.

Yelp
Terrible service, awful atmosphere and rude waitress. I came tonight for Office Trivia and we ordered a few rounds of drinks. However, when one of my friends (who was underage and the designated driver) didn't order anything, the waitress said "you know were running a business here." Right from entering, the staff was rude and seemed totally uninterested in customer service of any kind. Not to mention the drinks were over priced and the table setting was uncomfortable. Stay away!

Jackie B.

Yelp
Great spot!! Definitely recommend the hummus, nachos and spinach and artichoke dip to start. The hummus is the best in NYC!! So fresh and delicious. All the bartenders and servers are very friendly! Always have a good time there. They also have great trivia nights if you're into that and they play all Rangers games with sound :) Margherita flatbread is a also a great starter. Had the penne all a vodka for dinner, which was delicious (who knew an Irish pub would have great pasta!)

Sarah S.

Yelp
Great for groups or catching a game. Attentive bar staff. Large space for private party. Great bar food. Lots of beer and whiskey options!

Arleen O.

Yelp
Don't worry to go from this place $20 for a burger that came with no toppings to french fries not worth the money which is sad because when you eat in the food is OK

Laura S.

Yelp
Came here with a buddy for The Office trivia. The game was well organized. Service was good. We ordered the hummus & pita platter which came with hummus, tzatziki, and babaghanoush. All the dips were good. Also shared some chicken tenders which we enjoyed.

Paul H.

Yelp
Summary A standard public house with tons of televisions and space to eat and drink that's soured by somewhat lackluster service. The Drinks The standard fare in a place not specializing in cocktails or wine (neither of which I would order here). There is a good selection of beers however, and the taps are kept relatively clean for decent pours. The Food I ordered up some wings which came out piping hot with a nice kick of a spice. They were meaty as well, so not tiny cheap ones. The Service We sat at the bar and the bartender was not terribly attentive. He was very rude when it came time to split the bill on one card and the bulk in cash. He didn't understand that I didn't want a $100 tab on my card and $70 in cash... Guess it could have been a misunderstanding. But it was a little awkward and seemed rude to me.

Tatiana T.

Yelp
My friends and I have frequented this place many times prior to the pandemic and were so excited to go back once indoor dining was reinstated. Unfortunately, our visit Saturday for their bottomless brunch special wasn't as great as our past visits. We got the bottomless brunch special, where it was supposed to be bottomless mimosas for 90 minutes. We ordered our usual food choice from past visits and it was no where near the quality that they had prior. In addition to that, the waitress was no where to be found when it came to topping off our drinks. When we finally did find her, we mentioned our disdain with the service and instead of trying to make it right, her manager came over and yelled at us about asking too much of her waitress. We were in complete disbelief and appalled that even management didn't attempt to rectify the situation, and instead reprimanded us as the customer. With that being said, we will not be back.

Jenn W.

Yelp
Large bar, lots of seating and open, windows overlooking the street. Tons of tvs, great for sports. Wonderful service, personable staff, food was great.

Jen L.

Yelp
What I really like about the abbey tavern is that they dont let any food go to waste and they help their customers lose weight. For example, when I got the Abbey fries, which come with gorgonzola and garlic, I marveled at how little garlic and gorgonzola they actually put in! Usually when I ordered fries with cheese I like it when they actually put enough cheese on that I can actually taste the cheese, but the abbey tavern doesnt conform to traditional delicious fry cuisine. It was like 90% fries, and a sprinkle of cheese and garlic. They may as well not have added any at all! By being so conservative with the topping, they can save more to use sparingly with other customers and help them eat less calories! In fact, they make it so you dont even want to order the fries at all, saving money and losing weight ! Service was good.

Joseph B.

Yelp
This is our second time here. Great place, great food, great drinks. Had the please to meet Alex our bartender/waitress and Kathleen the manager. Awesome people, they really made or afternoon a pleasure. Will definitely be back. Joe & Michele from Connecticut

Dorothy L.

Yelp
Great place to stop by for a few drinks and a quick bite. Staff very friendly. Nice atmosphere.

Aisling M.

Yelp
I had the most amazing evening/night at this bar and restaurant! On arriving we asked for a table for 10, the waitress was very helpful,we ordered chicken burgers, they where absolutely amazing! we decided to stay for a few drinks what a night we had the juke box was on point, thanks to Gary and Dermot for your Hospitality much appreciated

Pete Q.

Yelp
This is a great mix of neighborhood pub and sports bar. The food is always good. The staff is great and the prices are reasonable.

Archangel M.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in for a couple of drinks on a fairly easy Thursday night, and we were greeted well, and the bartender was friendly enough. We ordered two double mixed drinks, which both tasted like there was no alcohol in them. Soda only, it tasted like. So we kindly let the bartender know that the drinks did not taste like there was any alcohol in them, and he proceeded very kindly to top the drinks off with what was probably another shot. Barely made a difference, and we watched him pour the shot. The spiced rum he poured looked a little light, and it dawned on me that they were probably watering their liquor. That seems to be the only logical conclusion to draw from such weak, weak drinks. Wouldn't recommend for drinks.

Lisa S.

Yelp
The food was good and the waitress was super friendly. I knocked off a star because I asked for mayo 2 times and never got it and at the end of the meal we noticed that we were charged and extra $2 for sweet chili sauce for our calamari. Now, it it was an extra that would be fine but on the menu you get the choice of BBQ, sweet chili, or marinara with your calamari as a "style" which is already a little pricey...no mention that any sauce costs extra. A bit shady ‍

Steve C.

Yelp
I had a get together in the back area for about 30-40 friends to watch some playoff football. It's truly a great place for that as there's the projector along with other big screens. They also had the sound on for the game, which should be standard for a sports bar, but you'd be surprised, some places don't put on sound unless it's Jets or Giants, even in the playoffs. So everything was all good, the food was good not great, but its a bar... Our waitress was very accommodating with putting everyone on separate checks. Then it came down to me, the last man to leave, the birthday guy. They brought my check over and it was pretty hefty, of course, it was my birthday and I had a lot of friends there and we are drinking for two football games. The manager came over and told me there was nothing he could do to alleviate the check and he didn't care that it was my birthday or how many people I brought and how much money they spent. I thought that was rude as phuck... I've worked in the industry before and have friends that still currently do. You have to have better etiquette with people, especially when the night before they call and make a reservation that turns into 40 people spending money for 5 hours. Poor judgement by the bar manager made me leave the 3 star, A-OK rating... Other then that it's more on the YAY scale!

Bryce W.

Yelp
I admire a location that's able to handle a big event crowd with efficiency and grace. I was here for a big college football game and not only did the staff take the time to wear team stickers and paraphernalia, but they were friendly, prompt and on top of everything when facing a rowdy, drunken crowd. Tip: Parmesan garlic wings are delicious.

Allison C.

Yelp
This place was a saving grace; some co-workers and I were escaping a work-sponsored event a few blocks away. Our co-workers were fine, but the food and drinks? Subpar. Abbey Tavern saved us with great food and drinks! This place is pretty spacious, all of the food and drinks were satisfying. Some co-workers and I split meatloaf sliders, chicken fingers, and chicken wings, and the Angry Orchard was cold and refreshing. We happened upon a Seinfeld Trivia Night, unbeknownst to us. A co-worker may or may not have yelled out "Tavern on the Green!!!!" as an answer, though we weren't a part of the trivia night. Ha! I don't end up in this part of Manhattan often...or, ever, really...but if I found myself down here again, I'd take comfort in entering Abbey Tavern again. It's a very nice place.

Allison V.

Yelp
Very disappointed - came here on a Sunday to watch the giants game. When I asked the bartender to put the game on a visible screen (there are about 20 TVs) he said no and told me to go sit down. The waitress was visibly overwhelmed and rolled her eyes when we asked for forks and napkins. Only recommend you come here if you enjoy shitty service.
