"Through February 26, ABC Home is offering up to 40 percent off all rugs and carpets in-store and online."

"Just north of Union Square, ABC’s Manhattan flagship spreads across several floors of a warehouse-like corner building. It’s long championed craftsmanship and sustainability, with covetable home goods—vintage textiles, lighting, furniture—sourced globally, from India to Denmark. Pop-ups within the store sometimes showcase avant-garde designs. Artisanal jewelry, clothes, decorative objects and other items more likely to fit in a suitcase can be found on the ground floor. Nearby, you can take your pick among three acclaimed restaurants launched in partnership with Chef Jean-Georges: ABC Kitchen, ABC Cocina, and ABCV."

"COVID-19 update: Open for socially distant shopping. Each level—antiques, contemporary furniture, lighting, and accessories—looks like a page ripped out of an interior design magazine. You can call and make an appointment with a sales associate who will walk you through everything you need to decorate your home, or simply spend a few hours browsing their tastefully jam-packed floors. The best part? At ABC, health, sustainability and the environment are a part of the ethos, thus organic upholstery and wood sourced from sustainable sources are available. Don't miss lunch at Jean George Vongerichten's ABC Kitchen: Fittingly, the innovative yet simple food is local, organic and has won the James Beard award for Best New Restaurant. There's also a below-ground carpet outlet across the street that has some amazing bargains. COVID-19 disclaimer: We are working hard to keep our listings as up to date as possible (deliveries, outdoor dining, etc.), but given the evolving nature of local COVID-19 restrictions, we recommend double-checking the information in this guide with any business you plan on visiting. Also, please note that we have not vetted any businesses listed within our guides for their compliance with applicable safety regulations."

Where to Go Shopping in NYC | Condé Nast Traveler

"ABC Carpet & Home is first and foremost a furniture showroom and rug store. But the shop also stocks original decor and accessories from around the world, hippie-chic fine jewelry, and luxury bath and beauty products with a wellness bent. Unless you're looking to furnish your home, stick to the main floor, where you'll find a trove of jewelry, candles, tabletop wares, objets d'art, and apothecary items. Bed linens, bath towels, and throw pillows upholstered in fringed velvet and intricate embroidery are on the basement level. And if you get hungry, three onsite restaurants, Abc Kitchen, Abc Cocina, and Abcv, all from by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, are destinations in themselves." - Andrea Whittle

Beautiful vibes over the many years the store has changed. They still offer unique finds for those searching for unique, rare home and beauty. Certainly aesthetically beautiful and still remains large the outlet offers finds for searchers!

I absolutely love this store. I used to take clients here for their unique selections of carpets. Then they expanded to so many different furnishings. It’s super fun to come here. You can always find something nice here.

You can find many interesting things here! I came here couple of times with my friend after work for inspiration. Would recommend visiting for interior design and art lovers

The installers did so much damage to our bedroom walls that painters took 6 hours to repair the mess. Then we were told it wasn't damage by the salesman just normal installation scratches. Customer service and quality of care did not play into our experience. Zero stars.it has now been more than 4 weeks since I posted and that generic apology appeared. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. There has been no help from the company whatsoever. THIS IS MY EXPERIENCE SO TAKE AWAY FROM IT WHATEVER YOU NEED. And good luck!

I made the decision to move from Berlin, Germany to Athens, Greece and set-up an apartment that was unfurnished. Knowing about ABC in NYC and knowing I was going to be there weeks later, I called ABC from Berlin and spoke with Dilek who guided me to buy a rug for the new apartment. I had seen one on the website and told her about it but she said she wanted to show me another one and sent me a picture by email. I LOVED it immediately. SO she gave me a video tour of it and I purchased it because it was part of a Labor Day sale. Luckily, I was going to be in NYC in September prior to its shipping so I stopped by the store to meet Dilek and see the rug. She remembered me immediately from seeing me in the video conference call! She told the boys to roll out the rug because it had not be packed yet and when they did...I teared up! It was so beautiful. SO this was the first purchase for my new apartment. I designed everything around the rug all thanks to Dilek. She is a very special person and has worked at ABC for years...so I am so thankful I got her to help me create my new home! ABC is fabulous and has amazing carpets and furnishings but what they really have is a gracious, caring expert in their top employee...Dilek! Dilek, you are the best and I have you thank for helping me to create my new home in Athens, Greece. Thank you so, so much. Michael Hayden 2014 California Teacher of the Year

Nice store, nice layouts very friendly staff. The price are a little high thiugh. But it’s worth doing a small detour and checking new decor ideas for your home modelling. Pass by eataly afterwards!

If I could move into a store, this one would be it!!!What a magical place!!! If you need a Christmas gift, or just want to come for some decor inspiration/mood boosting -this is definitely the place!!!! They also have 3 different restaurants downstairs, which I haven't tried yet! #marusikapproved

I came into the store and immediately received bad looks from who I believe to be the manager or security. I was trying out a swivel chair they have at the front of the store and I guess that pissed him off. I even smiled at the guy but that didn’t make any difference. This store needs to work on their customer service because this is no way to treat your potential customers! Honestly, everything in the store seemed to be overpriced and ugly. Don’t waste your time in here

Yelp
Recently re- visited abc carpet on Broadway. I love this store. It is often visited by decorators for their unusual pieces and fabulous carpets and fabric. I have not been to their restaurants in a while but the food is usually good excellent and not outrageously expensive. Tea cups are beautiful here and ch ck out higher floors for furniture and bedding.

Yelp
If budget is not an issue, this is a great place to get inspiration and find colorful and distinctive pieces for your home. Bright throw pillows, crazy glassware, and interesting decorative touches abound. Not cheap, though! A pillow had caught my eye that turned out to be $375. They also have a surprisingly large jewelry selection. There is a little of everything or just go to get ideas. Check out the restaurant that is connected. I have had a couple of very good meals there!

Yelp
I've always loved it here beautiful future whatever you need to decorated you place with there lovely wares - from the kitchen, living room to the bedroom. The restaurant is fabulous also which is towards the back and down the stairs

Yelp
The installers ruined a brand new paint job and then the salesman's resolution was to buy us a can of paint. The damage took our painters an entire day to fix and then the salesman accused us of trying to extort the payment of the repair. We felt we were harassed by the representative and corporate sent us a form letter and have not acted on a single complaint. Buyer beware. Our experience may not be a one of a kind.

Yelp
Visited again more recently, it's even worse. Cheaply made awful imported Christmas ornaments, plastic glitter, hideous colors, so sad.

Carrie L.

Yelp
Farzan was fantastic to work with at ABCs Manhattan location. He asked the right questions to help me hone in on the perfect rug for my space. The transaction from beginning to end, including delivery, was flawless and efficient. The inventory here is unsurpassed, highly recommend!

L W.

Yelp
I bought two nightstands from them, purchasing from them for the first time. The nightstands were not cheap and my understanding is they would deliver and unpack the items to ensure there's no damage. However they left both nightstands (still in the boxes) in my building's lobby and did not even notify me of arrival. I had to transport two heavy boxes to the second floor. This was a very disappointing and unprofessional process with bad (nonexistent) customer service and especially at these price points. Other furniture companies ensure quality service and delivery, and keep you posted on eta. Don't bother to shop here and strongly recommend going elsewhere!

Yelp
I loved ABC carpet. I have always considered it one of my favorite places to shop for gifts and home furnishings until I bought furniture there that has fallen apart and was misrepresented. I bought what I was told was an oak bed, dresser and bedside tables, and couldn't have been happier. Then a little more than a year later my solid oak dresser and end tables started cracking and the thin oak veneer lifted up on its own to reveal composite wood underneath. I bought furniture labeled as OAK. I would not have purchased it if it said oak veneer. ABC misrepresented what they sold me. I would call this FRAUD. ABC would not do anything to make this right. DO NOT SHOP here. You never know what you are buying, AND if you want furniture that only lasts a year, you might as well go to Ikea and spend a lot less money.

Joy P.

Yelp
Some of the most beautiful home decor in NYC. Prices are high, but when the sales are on? We've scored some amazing items that are high quality, elegant, and worth every penny.

Yelp
I bought this expensive "leather" couch there and about 9 years later this fake "bonded leather" started to peel. When I wrote ABC about it they offer a zero discount towards replacing it. This is it after 15 years of light use.

Yelp
Every time I try to type this review it is deleted. A beautiful expensive store. I've been here many times over the years. I share the same opinion as Cam! I have reviewed this store and posted photos in the past. The last visit I was with my daughter. My review and photos are gone. Sorry

Yelp
ABC Carpet & Home is a beautiful six storied furniture and carpet store located near the Greenmarket of Union Square and the Flatiron design district. A great area for furniture shopping and interior design! I find ABC à very good source for ideas, and for unique designs that are not your typical retail names and designers on the beaten path. True, they are pricey, but I have found a few things in the antique department that were very reasonable in price, well crafted and lovely. ABC is always a good place for ideas and just a jewel of a store to explore!

Yelp
This place is insane. I've never felt so poor in my life. Walking around with my boyfriend we started trying to guess the prices of things and we were sometimes off by thousands of dollars. It started with a 3 inch plate that $180. Then I picked up a tissue paper holder and told him to guess ridiculously high. He guessed an absolutely unreasonable price of $500 and it was $1000. The item was not even well made, the seams were not flush and the cut were not even straight. This continue with a chair that was $1300, that was made of plastic, a statue that was $3000, and finally the last statue that was $14995. After I saw a statue for almost $15000, we walked right out. I was afraid to touch anything because everything was so cheaply made and absolutely ridiculously expensive. It's cute inside and if things were not 8x the price of what they're worth, the stuff was fun and different. If you want a good laugh come here but make sure you're not clumsy.

Yelp
I'll be honest- the closest we've ever been to an ABC Carpet & Home- was actually when they had their Warehouse Outlet in The Bronx- not far from Hunts Point. Hubby and I had first gone there in the mid 2000s to pick out accent pieces for the home and still have them to this day. But word on the street has been for a year or two- ABC in NYC has downsized. With the exception of some outrageous wooden coffee tables, insane sofas and overpriced lamps- 3rd floor is quickly disappearing. First floor though- has almost everything you could possibly need to fill your home. Merchandise spoke to me with their mix of worldly Bold, but- soft, airy, neutral and eclectic styles. We'd finished with Lunch at ABC Cocina and just for kicks, decided to take in the sights. For the sake of argument though, we didn't purchase anything-maybe it wasn't meant to be that particular day. Pocket-friendly is not. But who knows, you can probably grab smaller items with a decent price tag.

Yelp
I used a gift card to buy what looked like grey towels on their website only to open the package to lavender towels. Their response? Too bad it was the lighting you eceived the correct towels. Now... understand.... I was not asking for a REFUND simply to exchange for other towels that actually cost more but were ACTUALLY grey and was told absolutely not we cannot exchange because you used a gift card. So even though I do not live near NYC and had never heard of this I went from possibly using the site for things year round to blocking their contact. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Yelp
Update: we have passed the one-year mark since ABC Home took my money & my order. When I reminded their "customer service" team of this, and asked if they could please at least schedule delivery of my two ottomans which have been in their distribution warehouse since November, they countered with "oh actually your sofa and sectional are expected to be available for delivery as of next week. Our new delivery partner will contact you." I replied that every single such communication I have gotten from them since last summer has been lies & obfuscation (these are now their core competencies), intended solely to prevent me from ordering furniture from their competitors. If the custom upholstery pieces I ordered from ABC a year ago were really built by Cobble Hill, and their arrival at the distribution warehouse were indeed imminent, then ABC should be able to confirm the date on which my pieces left the manufacturer in North Carolina, and provide me with contact info for their local delivery vendor. Crickets, of course: they have no such information, because it hasn't happened. Pure torture.

Yelp
If this place has some kind of a plan to save itself, they better get in gear quickly. This place is so dismal and depressing now. It breaks my heart. I did almost spend some money in here today, until the woman behind the register told me I could not use the restroom any longer. I saved myself a couple hundred bucks, and I'm going to T.J. Maxx.

Yelp
A place that holds beauty and very expensive items It has a little of everything. An Indian influenced store. Apparel, House Decor, Glassware,Dinning Room & Bedroom areas. Rugs on the 6th Floor. Some exquisite ladies lace outfits on displays, as well as silk nightgowns, kind of Victorian era fashion. We could imagine our mothers wearing those. Lot of esoteric items: incense, books, tarot cards, all artfully arranged and displayed. The rugs are the number one item to get here. Not for everyone, but one of a kind designs and workmanship.

Yelp
Well , just love me some ABC !! It's definitely pricey . But such an eclectic selection of fine goods . Linens , scarves , night ware , all imported and gorgeous. Beautiful face and body products , Tata Hara , and Tracy Martyn . Eye candy to be sure ! Friendly staff . Some stuff was shockingly priced high . But many things are reasonable and they have great sales . Check it out !! It's a classic .

Yelp
What an incredible disappointment. I went to ABC Carpet and Home for my first time after coming across this store in an Architectural Digest article. I was visiting NYC and wanted to check it out. I walked out spending over $1,600! Needless to say, I had a great time exploring and shopping. The frustration and reason for my low score is their return policy and I encourage everyone to be aware of it before they decide to purchase anything from this store. Of all the things I purchased, I bought 6 placemats as a gift for my husband. As they were a gift, I removed the price tag which was simply a sticker on the placemat itself. They were otherwise untouched. Well it turns out he was not a fan of the placemats so I decided to return them. Unfortunately, the store advised me that I cannot return the item because I removed the price tag and therefore altered the them. Again, I spent over $1,600 at this store and they decide to not allow a return because I removed the price tag from the item as it was a gift. What a complete disappointment and frustration on the store's return policy and obvious mismanagement and complete disregard for their customers. It's a shame. Oh well. Lesson learned and I thought I would share that lesson for others who care to be aware before spending money there.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. Canceled an order for a bed days after placing it with little regard. They've been around for a long time, but I find little reason for them to still exist.

Yelp
I bought a rug for $1600 from ABC Carpet this year. The rug came with no special cleaning instructions. One day it rained and the wind blew about a dozen drops of water through an open window onto the rug, leaving a dozen stains. I tried more water to get the stains out--just more stains--then a commercial rug cleaner, which left a huge splotch. I called a rug cleaner that ABC recommends and asked them if they could cut the stain out--about 30 inches of rug--and finish the edge. They said they could but would have to clean it first. The cleaning caused discoloration everywhere, leaving no reason to cut it. They tried cleaning it at least three times, leaving the rug not only discolored, but a wee bit ragged. "The foundation of the rug has been painted" causing the color run, said the recommended cleaners. I contacted ABC for a partial refund. They said my only recourse was with the cleaners. I said, no, that water stained the rug, just plain water, that the rug was defective. Since the rug is usable because I can cover MOST of the worst stains with a couch, I only asked for a partial refund, even telling customer service that they could give it to me in a credit. ABC again told me to contact the cleaners. How is it the cleaners' fault if just water stained the rug? This has gone on for months before a manager said with finality that there would be no compensation. Of course, this is a first-world problem and no one was injured or died, but shame on ABC.

Yelp
STAY AWAY from this TERRIBLE company. What an awful experience this continues to be for us. We ordered a couch 6+ months ago. Not only do we still not have it we keep getting pushed down the calendar by them. Every time I call they're happy to take my information and tell me that they will call back but no one ever does. I wish we hadn't given them a dime. Save yourselves the anxiety and anger & spend your money anywhere else.

Yelp
I have always loved ABC. I grew up going there with my Mom. We both love antiques A few weeks ago i bought an antique chaise there, and they gave made no effort in getting the chaise to me. My fiancé (he's better at stuff like this than me) has been on the phone for hours over multiple days trying to get this $5,000 (chaise on sale for $3,700) delivered. I recommend not buying large items from the store anymore. We ordered a pillow online and it came fine. I bought a lovely bathrobe which I took with me and I LOVE it. I bought my Mom a necklace there for Chanukah a few years ago which she loves. I still have so many fond memories of the store so I don't think I will be able to completely part with it. But I won't let myself get seduced by their furniture anymore. The chaise is really beautiful. I will update this review when I get it. Edit: the chaise is scheduled to be delivered- but it took hours on the phone. I would understand if I was trying to return something, but all I want is to be in possession of something I purchased.

Yelp
BUYER BEWARE! Buying a sofa from ABC Carpet & Home was one of the the worst experiences of any purchase I've made. This company left me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. I ordered a sectional the first week of October 2020 during a Columbus Day sale. The in person staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and I was told to expect the sofa within 10-12 weeks because of production delays. I did not receive any communication from the company for weeks, but reached out since I never received the fabric swatch. At the end of December, I was planning to receive the sofa and contacted the company to get an ETA. I was told there was a delay and it was expected in February. This was date was again pushed to the end of March. I DID NOT RECEIVE MY SOFA UNTIL ALMOST 6 MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE. While I am sympathetic to the issues that have arisen because of the pandemic, I am frustrated by the failure on the part of ABC to communicate effectively. They take weeks to respond to emails and don't answer the phone. They also have a no-return policy that leaves customers stuck.

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM ABC RIGHT NOW. I have been waiting for months and months past the original date for a ~$2500 bed. All I get when I ask about the status is this form response, which I have received multiple times: Thanks for contacting abc carpet & home! We're so sorry to be letting you know, there will be a delay in receiving your order from us. As the demand for shipping services has grown higher than ever, we, along with other retailers, are facing frustrating delays. We hate how this unfairly affects you and we completely understand that you may be upset by the long wait. We're working tirelessly to get things moving, bringing on additional support to expedite the process while still keeping our staff safe with the necessary precautions of routine temperature checks, mask-wearing, and limited capacities. Please accept our sincere apologies for this inconvenient delay. Know that you are our priority, and we can't wait until your order has safely arrived. We'll send you additional updates as soon as we can. We deeply appreciate your continued patience and we wish you and your families a safe, healthy, and joyful holiday season. NOTE: I called and was told the bed is ready for shipping weeks ago and is in the U.S., so this is unexcusable.

Yelp
Like me, this store is beautiful, expensive, and a goddamn mess. I absolutely love coming in because they have some really neat stuff, the displays are gorgeous, and some of the plates/silverware/glasses are stunning and unique. With that said, I've never bought anything here and I don't foresee that changing. I find the store extremely difficult to navigate, and on top of that, the employees are categorized such that if you ask someone in one section where to find something in another section, they will have no idea. On top of that, the selection is limited. I went in today in search of barware (shakers, jiggers, cocktail strainers, etc) and they apparently don't even carry it. The main reason why I'm giving two stars is because this place is ludicrously, and I mean LUDICROUSLY, expensive and overpriced. I mean, a ceramic mug for $250? Even when you factor in the cost associated with design/production, that seems ridiculous. I feel this way about most of the JGV spots though so I guess why should home & carpet be any different? All in all, love stopping in, but can't imagine I'll ever shop here.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Wow, what a beautiful place this is with a variety of things to view and purchase. The main level is definitely my favorite. All of the unique vendors are easy to walk through and include a massive amount of products to choose from. This place has it all ( most is quite expensive taste but very trendy ) including a few different places to eat after all of that shopping. I wasn't able to purchase anything on this past trip but I definitely want to in the future.
google avatar

Bridgette S.

Yelp
Definitely an incredibly interesting shop in the area! I really only stepped in to try to figure out what the heck this ginormous store is and I was so so so suprised to find all of the beautiful, seemingly handmade objects in here. Based on the items I saw, I would give this place 5 stars because everything was artisan made and there were even restaurants inside! So cool!!! I take away one star because unless you are obscenely wealthy and can afford a plate for $50 (g*d bless your soul if you can that is AMAZING and I hope I'll be there sometime soon), you cannot (I cannot) afford a single item in here. Def a beautiful place to check out tho!

Yelp
I bought quite a few items from ABC over the years. Yes, they were expensive but I always knew it was a quality unique item. I would walk around their store and find unique treasure finds and even discounted affordable items going good by floor. Now that I'm moving to a bigger apartment, I walked in today after four years ready to spend some money. What a shock. Is this even the same ABC? It looks like a standard department store with a few eclectic items at the main entrance. Just a couple of floors of 'nothing special'. No longer will you find treasures, restored antiques, or designers trying to make their mark. Instead a a few overpriced run of the mill items are on two floors that one can find in the home section of any expensive department store. The sales people are no longer even wannabe designers but rather appear one could find at rooms to go (no offense to anybody). I looked online and the granddaughter sold the upper floors for over a $100 million a few years ago. She might as well have sold the remaining three floors and shut this place down. I don't see it lasting.

Yelp
I just received delivery now of a couch that we ordered in July 2021. We are told that the ottoman will be delayed further until August. I wanted to post here so that people know that some deliveries are in fact happening despite the bankruptcy (our order was made just before they filed for bankruptcy). Best of luck to all who ordered.
google avatar

Thomas H.

Yelp
Wow.... I am not even sure what to say... how far have they fallen since I have been here pre-covid. Down to one floor... basement is a carpet shop at best kinda of like 20% of 1st floor. What happened to the core business. Interesting furniture and lighting complimented by carpets. It is now a carpet shop. It is sad as I use to go here looking for something unique even if it was costly that I could not find elsewhere. Regardless of cost there is not much of interest. I can find the same stuff elsewhere now and at a better price.
google avatar

Yelp
Do not purchase from ABC Carpet. They have gone bankrupt and now are struggling to manage how to get new and current orders out to customers. We ordered a couch in May and then found out -- 7 months later -- they still do not even have an update or estimate on the couch due to internal re-organzation (aka filing for bankruptcy). I asked for a refund for the couch because at this point I do not think we will be receiving. They refused a refund and instead offered a credit for me to purchase something else with them which is mindblowing. They will blame delays on supply chain issues (which I do know are a true and real struggle for many). This however is an issue with ABC. Truly beware of purchasing from them. They do not even have a customer service # to call at this point. It's a mess! Would not recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
LOVE this store!! Kinda pricey and you may not be able to afford much but I would recommend walking around here. They have awesome knick knacks for the home, your office, or just for you. Variety of fabulous pillows, rugs, flat wear, plates, various cooking items, jewelry, games, clothing. If you get hungry there is also a restaurant attached that is really good too!! Cheers & Enjoy!

Yelp
I'm generally priced out of the stuff sold at ABC Carpet, but it's fun to check out furnitures/carpets and imagine creating a space with them. It's also interesting to people watch other customers with boogie vibes. I remember they had really narrow staircase the last time I visited, but now they renovated it and installed a very modern elevator. Overall a fun place to explore when you have some extra time in the neighborhood.

Eric D.

Yelp
Ordered a piece of furniture in February of 2021. It is end of October and STILL have not received it!! They blame it on supply chain issues but in reality they just haven't paid their bills (BANKRUPT!) so manufacturers aren't making the furniture. Emails and calld go unanswered (even from the CEO!). When they do reply "they are unable to give me any updates". No ethics, no credibility, over priced. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!

Yelp
Unfortunately all of the 1-star reviews are accurate. Despite having beautiful furniture, ABC's delivery times and customer service are extremely poor (and not even worthy of 1-star). Delivery timelines are routinely set, missed, reset, missed, reset and missed with no communication from ABC. I have been waiting over 6 months for my sectional and have not received it. After many un-returned emails and un-returned phone calls, I visited the Manhattan location to speak with someone in-person (Diego Polo). I was told that ABC would be receiving my item in 2 weeks. 5 weeks later (today), I received an email stating that my item would take an additional 4+ months for delivery. Sadly, I do not have confidence that I will receive my couch in 4+ months. Ironically, if you go to the ABC website today, ABC quotes 20-22 weeks for furniture delivery, which is sooner than when I'm scheduled to receive the sectional that I ordered last summer. Additionally, I received an email from ABC stating that they would give me store credit... and if I re-ordered an item, I would get it sooner than my existing order. This is ridiculous. ABC -- I recognize that the pandemic has been difficult... and I recognize that you've gone through a bankruptcy and a re-organization. That said, your customer service is truly horrible. A few thoughts for the ABC management: -Return ALL emails and phone calls promptly. -Take this moment to be honest with your existing customers about delivery timelines. -Be proactive and transparent when communicating with your customers. -Compensate your customers for the delays and frustration. -Offer loaner furniture until customer items are delivered (if you miss stated delivery times). -Be honest with your new customers about real delivery times (not aspirational times). -Change the delivery times on your website to reflect the reality of how long it takes for furniture to be delivered. It doesn't take 20-22 weeks (as it states on your website). -Make sure that you treat your customers with much more grace and respect. Otherwise, you won't have a business going forward.

Yelp
It's a nice store, but for someone who travels internationally, you can find 80% of what's here abroad for a fraction of the price (India box for 1400 whick I have the exact same and bought for 58?) What's worth? Some pillows, chairs and furniture because they do have great colors if that's what you are looking for. If you just want beige, go to west elm, pottery barn, gracious home, whatever. And it will be half price. I give stars for the service, David is GREAT! And some decor stuff but nah, overrated for the most part.

Yelp
I've long admired the style of ABC Carpet and Home... in fact, shabby chic, before anyone called it that, was born here! I recall gazing at those unbelievably beautiful windows, dreaming of having similar exquisite decor in a home that would have enough space to accommodate more than a bed, table and shelving unit... back when I knew I probably wouldn't be able to afford more than a single glass or napkin. And now that I have a home with a lot of space and can afford more than a single glass or napkin? The bargain hunter in me would never see fit to spend 105 dollars on a dish that I'd likely break. Heh. This doesn't mean I have stopped admiring the sumptuous displays throughout the store. And I've been known to stop at their Bronx Outlet and Go. To. Town.* I bought a gorgeous chandelier and Indonesian wardrobe there in 2002. Less "carpet and home," than in its heyday, ABC is gift paradise. Candles, jewelry, vintage slips, little statues, all kinds of art, a children's section, an India imports section and so much more. Independent designers selling one of a kind pieces. Beauty products (more on that below). It has become the only kind of department store that I can tolerate. The way that items are curated makes you think that so very much time and consideration goes into it. Does this even happen at department stores anymore? Four stars because of the inspiration. I like to credit ABC Carpet & Home with my current decor choices at my home in New Orleans. They don't seem to carry the same amount of furniture that they used to, unless I was missing something the other night. And four stars because I met a really cool lady in here (with curly hair and superb style - wish I remembered her name!) who introduced me to the world of Tracie Martyn products. I was sold immediately after she demonstrated several on me, only I was on my way to dinner and a play and didn't want to carry stuff, so I sadly will be giving the sale to a website rather than the person who really did a phenomenal job of selling the product. I had to write a review to give her the credit she deserves! *Doesn't look like there is a Bronx Outlet store anymore. Sadness.

Yelp
I am so disappointed in this store today. I've been a customer ever since I moved here in 2000 and I've watched it decline from two stores to one, then watched other businesses move in to take over space in their store that they couldn't seem to fill, and now this year they don't even have their awesome Santa anymore. But I still was supporting the store each year, especially during the Christmas season because I love their vintage ornaments. Last year I purchased some ornaments and when I got home there was one missing from my bag. Had to go all the way back and they seemed to have attitude like I was trying to rip them off. It's unbelievable but the same thing happened again this year. I spent over $100 on ornaments and when I got home at least 4 had not been placed in my bag. So once again we had to go back and they treated us like we were conning them or something. I work in customer service and would never ever treat customers the way they did. I'm extremely disappointed because I will never shop there again. I recommend John Derian or More and More Antiques here in NYC for unique Christmas ornaments and decorations. Done with ABC for good!

Yelp
I shop here very often for gifts, probably at least once a month. Today I bought a stuff animal and book as a gift for my nephew. I asked for a ribbon and they said it was $10 for gift wrapping now. I'm traveling to CA tomorrow so I don't need the wrapping or tissue paper, just a ribbon to tie the stuff animal. It's ludicrous that you have to pay $10 or spend over $100 for a ribbon! The sales person said the ribbon is expensive but perhaps ABC home should offer an alternative especially during the holiday season. Customers shop and pay more at a high end boutique like ABC home for the curated selection and EXPERIENCE! I've worked at a high end boutique before and understand this is part of why customers choose to go to your boutique instead of elsewhere. I still love shopping at ABC home and will continue to shop there but was very turned off by that experience I had today.

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER FROM ABC CARPET!!!! I ordered and paid for a chair ("in stock and ready to ship") in December and still haven't received it in August. I cancelled the order months ago only to be contacted two separate times by ABC's shipping agent telling me the chair was in and to schedule delivery dates. That's been another total headache! Because the chair's delivery was imminent and I discovered the charge remained on my credit card statement, everything seemed to be moving along. But not so. I've corresponded with customer service no fewer than 10 times. Each time the in-stock date keeps moving by a month. I used to love this store, now I'll never shop there again.

Yelp
One of the few BEST places left in NYC for HOME furnishings! Pricey but fabulous and something to match EVERYONE'S style; especially, the SOFAs and the RUGs. I also enjoyed shopping here without being harassed by the SALES person.

Yelp
Good luck getting anyone to call you back after spending thousands on custom furniture. No reply to calls or emails after 5 months of waiting for my sofa. Larry McQuade is the sales person I was dealing with. I'll never buy another thing from this horrible company again.

Yelp
WARNING before you order - this is quite literally the worst customer service experience you'll ever have. We ordered a sofa from there (an expensive one, no less) on 9/25/2020 and still have yet to receive. Not only that, we have had little to no proactive communication from their customer service team as to the continued delays. In mid-October, a sales specialist did reach out to let us know we'd be delayed until December, but that she could change the color to a sofa they had in stock to expedite the process. We did so, but received no confirmation email, and when I reached back out to confirm a couple weeks later we were told the order hadn't been altered (despite our verbal and written communication with customer service) and that now the new color was also on backorder until January. Fast forward to today. Their sofas (Martha's Vineyard) still show as in stock on the website, but after constant back and forth they have just let us know they expect it to be mid-February before we receive our furniture. This is $000s of dollars later, 25+ emails, 3 phone calls, and a ton of frustration for a six month (if we're lucky) wait. Don't waste your time.

Yelp
I love ABC Carpet & Home's selection; however, their customer service is extremely poor. I placed a large order of items I was hoping to gift for the holidays. I have received no shipping updates and there is no way to track your order on the website. I've called multiple times during their daytime hours and no one has answered and no one is responsive to the customer service email. I spent quite a bit of money and am very worried I won't receive my order or be able to contact someone to rectify the problem.

Yelp
I should have taken these reviews seriously. You will be paying overpriced items and hoping that the item will arrive. Once the item is delivered, u will realise that it is defective. Customer service will not apologize for any delays or sending u the defective item. I was told that i will just have to wait. Dont know why i am begging them to send the item that i paid for. I used to shop instore frequently but wont be shopping any more ever again.

Yelp
I loved this store for years, but I am sad to say that it has gone very downhill. I agree that the prices were high, but the quality was also aligned. That is no longer the case. Their vendors to severely cut corners for this ABC Carpet and Home collection. They send swatches of lovely material, and that is not the ultimate material used for the furniture. I understand that COVID is difficult, but it does not excuse this type of bad faith. I also concur with the 2x estimated wait times, I dealt with the same issue, but understood these are trying times for all. I am just not understanding at the ultimate product being of a quality way below anything else I have ever received.
