"We love you South Bay. Land of beaches, bros, and binge drinking. If you’re looking to chill with the USC greek system or partake in a costumed bar crawl on another country’s independence day, this is your paradise. Gone are the tourists of Santa Monica and the grime of Venice. In its place is the squeaky clean beachside Americana our parents wished Los Angeles was more like. But despite the crowded bars, bustling boardwalks, and enough pick-up games of beach volleyball to give Misty May a sand rash, the South Bay has been slow to jump on the red hot food scene train currently circling its big brother to the north. Luckily though, someone has taken notice and is well on their way to changing such perceptions. At Abigaile, they’ve provided the neighborhood with a legit farm-to-table micro brewery experience that will appease just about everyone. With an adult-friendly dining room, a nice outdoor balcony, an active bar, and large upstairs dance-floor slopfest, Abigaile gives you pretty much everything you could possibly come wanting. And thankfully the space is large enough that the different versions don’t necessarily bleed into one another. The menu is your prototypical new-age American cuisine with some crowd-pleasing twists. Their red curry short rib is excellent, and the P.I.G. “pop tarts” might even be better. Most plates are easily shareable and extremely well-priced, so be the SoCal beach royalty you are and order away. Abigaile is situated in the heart of Hermosa, making it the perfect jumping off spot for a Girls Night Out or otherwise rowdy group dinner. Hermosa Beach will always ooze with the postgrad charm and frenzy that makes it what it is today. While you’re here, may as well add on some quality, mature #EEEEEATS to go along with all the fun. Food Rundown PIG “pop tart” Make no doubt about it, there’s nothing appealing about the sound of a pig poptart, but don’t be fooled. This is savory, flaky greatness and one of the best things on the menu. Red Curry Short Rib How have more people not thought of doing this? Literally if you put this on a menu, we will come and eat it. It’s just that good. Moroccan Lamb Kibbeh It’s the spicy tomato fondue that puts this in the elite category on the Abigaile menu. Salt N’ Pepper Prawns This isn’t going to jump off the menu at you, but you should definitely order it. It’s simple, clean, and a perfect appetizer. Vietnamese “Pho” Salad Is this the spiciest salad in town? Very possible. Another great appetizer for the table. Roasted Brussels This dish is definitely skippable. It sounds delicious on paper (with bacon and goat cheese) but the thinly sliced sprouts just do not work here. Fresh Burrata Don’t screw this up. Order the burrata." - Brant Cox

"After ten years, Hermosa Beach’s Abigaile Restaurant and Brewery will cease operations on January 19. Blackhouse Hospitality Owners Jed Sanford & Chef Tin Vuong — who also own Little Sister, Dia de Campo, Steak & Whisky, and Wildcraft — shared the news via Facebook yesterday." - Mona Holmes

This place is fantastic and quite busy. I recommend making a reservation. Parking, as with most places near Hermosa Beach will not be that easy. We got lucky and found street parking just outside. They are metered. Be ready to walk a little bit if you're driving. You'll find they have a keen sense of detail both from the care taken in designing the dishes both in their flavor and presentation. We ordered several different meals. The Dirt Bird Benedict -- Fried chicken and eggs benedict with side salad China Town Steak and Eggs -- an amazing not so traditional breakfast option. This was my order and it tasted amazing. Lemon Pancakes -- the pancakes are HUGE and could be split. They tasted amazing and come with a honey dressing instead of traditional syrup. I liked that a lot. All Hermosa Slam -- a traditional eggs, sausage, bacon that has big portions. For drinks we ordered Bloody Marys and Beer. I ordered the beer. This place is a brewery as well so you have the opportunity to order their beer. I highly recommend this place for those who are looking for a new flavor experience. You will be very pleased.

We had the dineLA menu which combines some of the most well-known dishes of this upscale restaurant. Food was tasty but it just didn't quite blow our minds. Portions were good for the price. House brew beers were remarkable, very surprising flavors.

I was with my friend and it was first time to visit here. I heard that the food here is very good even for Brewery. And we had Fried Green Olives, Foraged Wild Mushroom, Roasted Salmon and pork something...I forgot the name! But everything was so good and Janea, our server, was providing us really good service! Her recommendation was so accurate and everything we ordered was so tasty. We had good time watching Sunset on Monday night. I’ll definitely go back for other occasions! Thank you Janea!!!

We have been here for dinner and brunch and loved our experience both times. Solid option of foods for brunch and dinner with a good drink menu. We loved the Chicken Benedict and the bread for breakfast and good options for a sharing of small plates for dinner. We personally liked the brunch options better but a good option for either meal. Enjoy!

This place has some solid options for brunch. Tots topped with fried eggs were small but perfect for two. The pancakes were HUGE, really fluffy, and not too sweet. The huevos rancheros has a smoky/sweet taste. They also have great drink options. Echoing other reviews about the terrible service: Our server was good, but our huevos rancheros took FOREVER to come out. We thought they had forgotten about it and by the time we got it, we were too full off of our drinks to really enjoy it. The server did say at the beginning that the dishes come out one by one, but even she apologized for how incredibly late this last dish was. Don’t come here if you have plans afterwards.

The Brazilian cheese balls with honey were amazing. It sounds like a weird pairing but it works. I got the PIG pop tart as my main course. It was surprisingly good. Like a large empanada except thinner, flaky crust. The marinara sauce was a little out of place though. It would've paired better with a more Hispanic salsa or hot sauce. The bartender was very nice and made a great Jameson mule. Overall a good experience.

EDIT TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW: There is no Bloody Mary bar anymore. They got rid of it (FROWN FACE). Apparently the new GM doesn't care for it. The food is still delicious and they close ocean bar upstairs on Saturday's for the winter so you can only go to Abigail for brunch. Still good but I miss the Bloody Mary bar. The dirty bird Benedict is amazing and so is the Pain Perdu (pictures attached). They have bottomless mimosas for $18. ---------------------- Old post: The Bloody Mary bar is EPIC. Probably my favorite brunch spot in LA. They have crab legs, a huge charcuterie spread, multiple kinds of stuffed olives, and basically everything you could hope to stick in a Bloody Mary. Every single brunch item I've tried has been delicious. The fried chicken and waffles are a personal favorite. Pro tip, you can go up to ocean bar upstairs and get the same Abigail brunch menu with an ocean view. EDIT TO MY REVIEW, AGAIN. Went to have brunch with my friend but got there way past brunch. I didn't expect to have brunch prices but they told me we could get bottomless mimosos all day for $18? Great! We would have just bought normal drinks but the deal was too good. We joked about people drinking too much and how you have to cut people off at some point after 50 mimosa and she said she saw crazy things but it's all good and it was an all day thing. So our waitress clocks out and the next guy says our "bottomless mimosas" are only until 2pm. We got there AT 2pm! And we weren't told there was a limit. So we asked for an extension and they acted like we were beggars and we're lying about what our waitress said. So yeah. No more Bloody Mary bar. No bottomless mimosas. No reason to come here.

In a word...this restaurant 's food is...pretentious! Overly seasoned food is obnoxious.1st bite...nice, 2nd...ok, 3rd on..."I'm so done with this but I'm still hungry." "Syrupy sauce" fought with the beef...and didn't at all go with the sliced finger potatoes or the fresh salad (that wilted from the heat)...not a nice texture. My Daughter had the 5☆ fries and a hamburger she loved! Little starter breads needed some help with their "white bread" taste. Texture was there but not the taste...just missed. The beef itself was tender and tasty. I would have loved the dish served stand-alone items (great beef, great potatoes, cold salad).CHOICE of sauce! On the side! ""Dipping sauce." House wines...white and red were excellent. They brew here so I will go back for lunch and sample. They are diffinantly worth a second try! They gave a "dis-satisfied" $5.00 off my bill. The mark of a "great establishment." I ate a good portion of my daughter's fries and all my beef...so that was fare. It was the gesture you should look for. (It went on his tip.) That's why I will go back. Incredible space! One of the prime restaurant properties in the area. Worth the price of admission. Incredible service from the front door...to the waiter, Asia...to every other member of the house. So sorry I can't give them more stars...maybe next time!
