The Best Rooftop Bars and Restaurants in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"Visitors can kick back with a mojito or a local beer on draft at this upscale spot for downtown professionals and travelers coming through town. Snacks include boudin balls, wings, and a club sandwich. The bar swings open to the public from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. In short: Perfect for a post-work drink." - Clair Lorell

Set on the restored New Orleans Public Service building, this rooftop bar blends poolside ease with downtown views and DJ nights. Noted by Rooftop Guide and covered by local event listings, it’s a lively, genuinely local hang in a historic landmark.

Paid $34pp for a pool party. Included 1 complimentary drink which was trash. Do not pay money to come here. It looked like we could have come up here for free. No one asked for a ticket or anything. We just walked in. If you find this on eventbrite it might me a scam.

Aja was great! She was super fun and personable with our group and made our time super fun! Drinks were delish, and pretty typical prices.

Ajia made me the best drink! Amazed at all the love she poured into that glass! I feel like I found a secret New Orleans oasis!

Nothing special. Went there because they had a rooftop bar. Extremely, grossly overpriced! Drinks are $17-$18. It’s a very small rooftop and has no vibes. It also costs eight dollars to get on the rooftop bar, and a very inconvenient process to pay. They must really not want business. There are many other rooftop bars in the city that are free and so much better like, Rosie’s on the rooftop.

Not sure what the 3.5 stars are about, but my group and I had a delightful time at Above the Grid. Paul D was very accommodating and asked all the right questions in determine which drinks he thought we’d enjoy. Excellent knowledge of mixology and New Orleans history. If you find yourself at this rooftop bar, make sure Paul is your bartender. The NOPSI Hotel is lucky to have Paul D on their team.

Google
Website for pool reservations doesn’t work. Front desk only suggestion was to go to the website.. that doesn’t work. Unresponsive when we said it doesn’t. Then told us it was booked to capacity even though we went up there prior and it was empty… Did appear to be a gorgeous and very chill vibe.

I love the vibe. It's a poolside bar on top of Nopsi hotel.

Called to inquire about an outing. Info received on the phone vs what's on their website is contradictory. I'm afraid to plan to meet my friends there. C'mon people

Yelp
We came to this rooftop bar on a whim after celebrating Valentine's Day! This is definitely a hidden gem. There was no one up there, and it is so comfortable! There is plenty of seating with heaters for cold weather. There is also a pool, so I'm sure it's a fun spot during the summer. The drinks were on the pricier side, but that was expected considering it is on top of the NOPSI. Don't order the Dirty Shirley though here, kind of tasted like cough syrup lol! It was a great view of the city! I will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
Good drinks and a neat atmosphere. Weather was ok when we were up there. Wasn't crowded when we were up there and the view is decent.

Yelp
Asia is the best she made the best gin and tonic with extra lime. You need to try this place as it is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a nice cool breeze and the pool. Definitely get a drink from Asia.

Yelp
So this is the Rooftop bar at the Nopsi hotel. While the view is really nice and my favorite rooftop to go to in the CBD, they could really use a different bar layout to get people served in a more timely fashion. This is the only reason I'm giving this bar a 3 star. It's really a nice place for a drink or two after dinner with a date. No need to get too fancy but you certainly can if you'd like.

Yelp
First, Unlike most rooftop bars in NOLA this one never had a wait or the need to rush to a spot left open. Wherever there is seating you'll have an amazing view! The Cabanas near the pool add to the already perfect view. You can grab high chairs near the edges or the sofas encircling a table for less breeze. I could only give three of five stars due to the inconsistency in drinks. One night perfect but next visit be like, "C'mon Man!"

Yelp
The Above the Grid Rooftop Bar @ The NOPSI was the perfect way to end the night after spending all day in the French Quarter. Bartender Camille was not only an expert at her craft, she possessed a fantastic personality and kept us entertained all evening. I highly recommend Above the Grid Rooftop Bar whenever your travels take you to NOLA! Make sure you tell Camille I sent you!!

Yelp
Very cool and hip spot that's above the city in the Nopsi Hotel. Chill environment and laid back atmosphere with a small yet cool drink menu. Definitely want to visit in the Spring.

Yelp
We had a great time here! We went on a Saturday evening in March and it was not crowded at all. Great place to grab a drink and relax under the heated lamps!

Yelp
I went to the pool this last Sunday and I enjoyed myself for the simple fact that it was hot outside and I was at the pool. It was free to get in so I can't complain. What I did like about this place is that it wasn't too crowded and we were able to get a table in the shade. I had a French 75 which was really good, but I wanted a frozen drink. There were no frozen cocktails available to my surprise. Especially since it's the summer time. The view from the rooftop was gorgeous, but the pool itself was underwhelming in looks.

Yelp
After a week enjoying New Orleans, we decided to try the Above The Grid roof-top bar. Something we will never forget! Not only was the view beautiful but the atmosphere at the bar was so much fun! Kamile was entertaining, accommodating and a attentive bartender. She kept the vibe fun even after closing to keep the guests happy. Definite return for next trip!

Yelp
NOFW hosted A Taste of Fashion Week Kickoff Party at NOPSI's Rooftop Bar and it was OVER THE TOP! Great location, Great bar, Great service, Great View! All the boxes checked off A+.

Yelp
Don't waste your time. View is fine, there's a decent amount of seating, but the drinks are bad. Red wine is served cold, and cocktails taste terrible. Really, go somewhere else.

Yelp
I just tried to consume the most disgusting drink I have ever tasted. I took a few sips and I can't! This is my first drink of the night and I want to vomit!

Jake T.

Yelp
This bar is absolutely one of the best bars I've ever been to. My bartender Kamile was very personable and her knowledge of spirits is unrivalled by very few. I highly recommend this place especially if Kamile is working.

Yelp
Apparently you must be a hotel guest to be able to visit this bar. We were in Nola for the weekend and I did a search for best rooftop bars and this was listed so we walked all the way there to enjoy a drink & the sunset. When we arrived there was a doorman and I explained that we would like to go to the bar and he said go ahead so we walked in and there was not anybody at the front desk or the concierge so we headed straight to the elevators. Once we got in there was a kind person that swipe their card for us so it tipped me off that maybe we needed special permission to go up there. When we arrived we began to head past the bar to find a seat and a security officer said that he needed our card. I explained that we were non-hotel guests and just wanted to enjoy a drink at the bar. He was extremely rude and non-communicative and would not even look at me. He just sat there and watched YouTube videos on his phone and refused to engage with me on any level. I tried to be as friendly as possible and ask questions and he just grunted at me while continuing to watch videos on his phone. I asked him if he knew of any other places and basically refused to answer or even look at me. So we just turned around and walked away. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Thankfully he was really the only ridiculously unfriendly person that we had come in contact with it in Nola during our stay. All I have to say is it was a very poor first impression and it definitely made me think twice to ever try going there let alone stay there and I would let everybody know about my experience. Disappointed that it was such a waste of time.
