The Lofts at Abrams Fixtures may look nice on the surface, but looks can be deceiving. Since moving in, there have been at least five car break-ins, and management has done little more than send out emails and clean up broken glass. No meaningful action has been taken to improve security—even though we were told there would be a security guard when we signed our lease.
There are no designated parking spots, yet residents are still charged $50/month for “parking.” What exactly is that fee paying for? There’s no visible security, no controlled entry, and the cameras seem to serve more as a post-incident formality than a deterrent.
What’s worse is that instead of taking accountability, management advises residents not to leave things in their car—as if we’re the ones to blame. Many of us already leave our doors unlocked with nothing inside, and the break-ins still happen.
The building itself is aesthetically pleasing, but management’s negligence and the lack of basic safety measures make this a frustrating and unsafe place to live. If you’re considering moving here, be aware that your safety and property may not be prioritized.
UPDATE (9/25):
I want to acknowledge that management has recently taken a step toward improving safety by adding a nightly police presence. I truly appreciate that action—it shows that residents’ concerns were finally heard, and I hope this continues as a long-term solution to deter crime.
The call box is still not functioning properly despite work orders, and there are occasional issues with noise from neighboring units—but those are part of living in an apartment community and more understandable.
Overall, thank you to management for finally taking action—and for not pressuring residents to change or remove their honest reviews. That kind of transparency and accountability goes a long way. ❤️
