"Expected to open on December 20 in the Adair Park neighborhood of Downtown Atlanta (in the Abrams Fixtures mixed-use development), chef Leonard Yu’s new Japanese tasting-room will offer an eight-course tasting menu priced at about $195 per person, with wine and sake pairings available for an additional fee. Small plates will include Aomori gai (a sampling of the best seafood from the city of Aomori in Japan), awabi kimo (steamed, thinly sliced abalone over a rice and abalone liver mixture), nigiri, and smoked wagyu. Yu, whose Omakase Table won a Michelin star this year, says, “With this project, we want to highlight the cooking methods, rather than the aging, as we do with the nigiri at Omakase Table,” and adds, “I want it to be a little more fun — we’re still traditional, but not that traditional.” Reservations for the intimate 10-seat space are open." - Henna Bakshi
