Abri Soba

"You may have heard of soba, Japanese pasta made with buckwheat, the reputation of which is currently snowballing around the planet. The chef of this restaurant has made soba his house speciality and serves it lunch and evening in an amazing variety of preparations: hot, cold, in stock or with finely sliced duck. Simply flavoursome – get out your chopsticks!" - Michelin Inspector

Food is delicious and I enjoyed it so much. However, the restaurant is too crowded and too hot during summer time. I kept sweating while eating noodles. Remember to arrive as early as possible. Otherwise you have to wait a bit long as the queue is long.

Popped in for a solo lunch on a Saturday, about 15 minutes after open. If you have a larger group (4+), I would recommend arriving around open to snag a bigger table, as it filled up quickly. Solo, I was immediately seated at the bar. The lunch menu feels like a wonderful value for the money. It came your choice of a soba plus a side salad of shredded daikon, a small bowl of rice, and a few different other side options. It being a summer day, I chose a cold soba with thinly sliced duck breast, which was phenomenal. The soba was ice cold and bouncy, the duck perfectly cooked, and the broth well balanced. I would highly recommend, especially given the price. Service was excellent, both in English and in French.

Run by a Japanese family, a high quality bowl of soba definitely warms your soul after a long day! A real hidden gem, can safely say this is one of the highlights of my visit to Paris if you’re looking for something different!

Still a line at 930 pm on a Wednesday night. Had high hopes for this place as it's been bookmarked for quite some time. Make sense when they're a Michelin bib gourmand. Don't be alarmed, the place doesn't have any signage just goto where the long line is. All the starters were a hit esp the shashamo grilled smelt and the belly filled with eggs. Wish they were slightly more crispy. Great sashimi portion and quality fish. The grilled chicken was incredible with the fermented rice marinade they use. Now the negatives - perhaps I should have got the dipping soba instead, but the broth was nice but a tad too sweet in my option. The duck was over cooked as it's sitting in the broth too long but the shrimp and vegetable tempura was incredibly well fried. Other highlights were the potato salad and the age dashi tofu!

Great food, affordable prices and the atmosphere was lovely! We tried zaru soba , grilled fish, and creme brulee, and they were delicious.

The 40 minute queue was well worth the wait, the food was great! Everything was incredibly fresh and bursting with authentic flavour. We ordered nine plates between five of us, and the portions were spot on. Standouts? Don’t miss the raw mackerel, duck, and Mousse de poisson. Highly recommend!

Very nice soba! I was pleasantly surprised to find some authentic Japanese soba in Paris. Everything tasted true to food you would find in Japan. The tempura was cooked well, it did not taste oily and it was light and crispy. On the other hand, the さつまいも天ぷら was slightly undercooked 🫤 and the tempura did not come with any 天汁 🥲 I thought this was a bit strange. The staff were very friendly though, and the soba and つゆ for the soba tasted really nice.

Service, ambiance and cuisine are all 10/10! Thé aubergine especially was fantastic! The cuisine really is so well crafted bringing the flavours of all meat, fish and vegetables to the forefront of the plate. Simply put, the cuisine celebrates its ingredients. Will definitely come back to try the dishes we couldn’t try. The soba noodles was one of the best I’ve tasted in Paris so far. The sesame Soba was exception! The crème brûlée was perfection and the sesame and matcha ice cream remained one of favourites. The mochi made in-house was amazing as well. This restaurant is a hidden gem and one that I’ll visit again. Thank you to the staff for their hospitality and the warm welcome into the culture and cuisine of Japan.

Yelp
Random find looking at a local Paris guide book in our AirBNB. The sister restaurant that had a Michelin star has shut down. This place was fantastic. As good as any other Japanese restaurant I've had all over the US and probably close to others I've had in Japan. The karaage was light, crispy and not greasy. The agedashi tofu was excellent. The miso eggplant really grew on me. Never had anything quite like it before. Half an eggplant baked with miso glaze on it. You can get the soba hot or cold with various additions. The hot broth was clean but super flavorful. The mochi was solid. You only get 3 half pieces though. Matcha, black sesame, and one other flavor I couldn't quite place. The creme brulee was excellent. A hint of sesame. I love that they have no reservations. First come first serve. Service was excellent. Classic Japanese decor with dark aged wood look. The bathroom is decorated with a bunch of empty sake bottles. Great find!!

Yelp
1. One of the best meals I had in Paris. 2. We came here for dinner on a Friday night so I expected a wait. We only had to wait about 15mins until we were seated at the coziest spot. The space is a bit intimate so you'll be friendly with your neighbor/s. 3. We ordered the tenzaru and kamonanban, both of which were amazing but the star was tenzaru. Because it was a cold, dipping soba, it was perfect for the warmer weather. The sauce and fresh wasabi was the perfect combo - simple flavors that were just delicious. 4. I'm definitely coming back the next time I'm in Paris!

Yelp
Loved the bar vibe and thought all the dishes were solid! A cool spot for meeting with friends or a date. This place transports you to Japan. Crème brûlée and karage were delicious. And the best takoyaki I've ever had (crispier outside than other ones I've had). If visiting France again I would come back for a comfort meal

Yelp
The best soba I've had. The inside ambiance is lovely, was full when we went and the vibes were great. The Zaru and Kake soba are delicious, the broth is perfect. Truly an incredible little restaurant and will be back!

Yelp
Worth the try: kamonanban (canard/duck) soba Duck Soba: tender, thinly sliced duck pieces and soba noodles swimming in a delicious, light broth My friend and I needed a break from all the bread and butter and came across this Japanese restaurant by our Airbnb. I was reluctant to have Asian food in a European country, but this place proved its worth. The hot soba was such a comforting escape from the cold weather and paired well with a Sapporo. Our bowls came out rather quickly, though we wished the soup was a bit hotter. The portions were perfectly sized, not too little, not too much. I'm used to having leftovers at ramen places in America, so it was nice to finish my bowl for once. Overall, great find in the city and would recommend to anyone who loves Asian food.

Yelp
Since moving to Paris we have spent many a date night at Abri Soba. It's also our go to for when our friends are visiting from out of town. Not for the lack of amazing french food that's in this area but because a meal at Abri Soba is just so fun. The menu is extensive the tapas are small enough so you can try a few different ones each time, the staff is friendly, and the food is just really good.

Yelp
Mediocre lunch with line out there. Paris need more better ramen places for sure. Services was good.

Yelp
Japanese in Paris at a high quality is tough to come by but Abri Soba excels. Full menu of specialty crafted soba as well as a bunch of appetizers. English is not their specialty here so to summarize the appetizers are your typical like edamame, tataki, chicken karage, and agedashi tofu. The mains are soba with soup, without, and marinated. Mostly the options are plain, duck or tempura within each category. Drinks are normal with wine and Japanese beer and a lot of sake bottle options. Pricey drinks but food fine at 15 euro max with others around 10. Food filling and cooked perfectly. Ordered 2 appetizers and entree each and this was one of the best paced meals at a Japanese restaurant I've ever had. Karage exceptional! More of a Korean bbq style chicken. With not too much fried outside and great dipping sauce. Tofu fine but very fishy so beware. Soup is an umami bomb but overall a good opener. Sobas are good with fresh noodle and fresh tasting broth. Duck is a chasu consistency and cut and cleaned perfectly. Hot or cold you can't go wrong, dipping or broth in can't go wrong. The entire restaurant was on all fronts for type. Tempura is probably recommendation as you get quite a lot with about 2 shrimps and 2 potatoes. Very fried so will be heavy but seemed to deep up the juices of the broth well so makes for a nice meal. Abri Soba is a great option in Paris for something a bit different. Reservations not availability so just show up and hope there's no line. But service is fast and you can drink in line so a minimal 20 min wait isn't too bad in this neighborhood restaurant.

Yelp
Really great soba! We ate the tempura soba (cold) and the set menu with omelette, and it was just like in Tokyo! The service was great and the staff spoke english.
