Kiko Mizuhara’s Tokyo: A Stylish Insider’s Guide

"A gem where stunning architecture meets culinary excellence, this spot greets me with a uniquely shaped white stone table seamlessly integrated into the space. The beautiful architecture, renovated from a traditional house, sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. Each dish from the set menu is paired with a carefully selected array of Japanese, Western, and Chinese liqueurs and herbs, enhancing the flavors. What stands out to me is the addition of interesting herbs in every dish and the delightful music selection that creates a cozy atmosphere." - The MICHELIN Guide

Tokyo’s Dining Scene Has a Thriving Alcohol-Free Cocktail Boom — and It Tastes Delicious

"AC House is a new Tokyo restaurant tucked in a residential neighborhood near the Aoyama Cemetery. It features a space capsule of smooth white curves, a 10-seat counter, and an open kitchen. The restaurant is known for its layered cooking, anchored in Japanese ingredients and influenced by Italy and Scandinavia. The beverage program, led by Haruna Sugiyama, offers a range of peculiar, complex, and delightful non-alcoholic drinks, including a 'mezcal' mocktail made with lapsang souchong." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Our first dinner in Tokyo and definitely one of our favorites! The place has such a beautiful vibe - simple, stylish, with great ambient and music - and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. It was so cool to watch the chef prepare each dish right in front of us. The snapper and pigeon were standouts, and the dessert was absolutely amazing. They also have a great wine list that paired perfectly with everything.

Amazing food and atmosphere! Tucked away in what seems like a nice suburban area of Tokyo, we had a great experience. The chef has previously worked at Maaemo (3 stars) and you could really sense this level in the menu. Some of the best dishes I’ve had in Japan, and some very interesting ones at that, like the pigeon. I only wish they poured slightly larger glasses as part of the wine pairing ;)

One of my favorite dining experiences that I've ever had. The environment is very intimate as staff are preparing food for our party alone in an open kitchen/ dining area. Every bite of food was masterfully crafted in both taste and presentation, mixed with eloquent wine pairings and fun music in the background. The staff we're warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. I can't speak highly enough -- if you enjoy fine dining, do yourself the favor and visit AC House with a group of friends and family.

When we ate at AC house, the chefs repeatedly tasted the food they were cooking with spoons that they then served the food with. They would taste the food with a spoon, put that spoon in a bowl with serving utensils, and then retrieve the SAME SPOON that had just been in their mouth to place the food onto our plates that we would eat. The first time we saw this we thought we were imagining things and it must be a mistake. We said something to our waiter. The chef tried to hide the behavior but it is an open kitchen and you can see right in. The second and third and fourth time we saw we alerted our waiter again. But the chef refused to not feed us his saliva. We said we had to leave in the middle of the meal because of the unsanitary conditions. They made us pay for the entire meal even though we didn’t get through more than half the meal. Additionally, one member of the staff was visibly drunk and hammering wine the entire meal. And the other member was comically misinformed about the menu and restaurant. It felt like amateur night at a frat house. It was so unhygienic and we couldn’t believe our experience. We contacted them for a refund because we couldn’t believe how much we paid for a meal that violated every known health code, and they told us there was nothing they could do. There are so many excellent restaurants in Tokyo. Go somewhere else.

Chef was great and rest of staff very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the creative dishes and even the creative mocktails. Wine pairing was fun and global. Would come again for another seasonal tasting menu.
