"It’s not the only D.C. fixture that’s been forced to fold because of rent issues. Acadiana, Passion Food Hospitality group’s tribute to Louisiana fish houses, will close after 13 years on New Year’s Eve as well." - Tierney Plumb

"Acadiana, a Louisiana fish house-inspired restaurant by Passion Food Hospitality group, will close after 13 years of serving gumbo and po’boy sandwiches. It has been known for its live jazz brunch, happy hours, and popular dishes like blackened swordfish, beer-battered soft shell crabs with ricotta dumplings, flaky hand pies, and garlicky charbroiled oysters. The venue will serve its last oyster on December 31 due to lease termination, but there is a possibility of reopening nearby. The restaurant features a 4,000-square-foot space with two large banquet rooms." - Tierney Plumb

Favorite Brunch Place by far in DC. There is a plenty of variety for brunch entries and prices are reasonable. The pre fixed price will vary according to the selected entree. It can be $29 or $39 and includes: appetizer, entree and dessert. You can add bottomless mimosas for $10. I tried the eggs acadiana: two pouches eggs with Louisiana crab cake. It was delicious but what was amazingly different was the Grillades and Grits which were medallions of veal with cheese grits. Highly recommended as well as the shrimps. The atmosphere is elegant and peaceful. The treatment of the waitress was delightful. We had reservation and end up adding two more to the crew and she solved promptly. I would only suggest to upgrade the glasses to flute ones for the mimosas. We were using wine glasses for mimosas.

Top-notch service, excellent food, and they're open late! My only complaint is that the servings could be a bit larger. Maybe they could throw in a side for some of the entrees? Anyway, it was the best shrimp & grits I've ever had.

Brunch special and bottomless drinks on the weekend! Need I say more! Oh and it's Cajun cuisine!!! Try the turtle soup! I've gone here more than any restuarant in the DMV area and it is never a disappointment! Today meets this pattern! The service a bit off, but the food was awesome! The charboiled oysters are a must!!!

Great restaurant. Service was fantastic and food varied from good to fantastic across courses. The standout dish was the duck, which is arguably the best duck I have had. It was also huge, and could probably be shared between to people. The etoufee starter was something I hadn’t tried before and also really hit the spot. For me it lost a star for the decor/fittings which felt quite 00s.

A delightful surprise in the new City Center area. Mediterranean style food, excellent service, and a light airy atmosphere. The olive oil tasting was excellent. Recommend the French toast with lavender syrup.

Very nice place! We sat outside Sunday, two drink, one entree and one appertizer. All were awesome! Wish the main dish came with a side. I will return to try more on the menu.

My fiance and I came here for restaurant week and we were not disappointed. We had a reservation and we were like 5 minutes late. For a busy Saturday, they sat us immediately. We both knew what we wanted because we looked at the menu ahead of time (we were kinda excited lol). For drinks we ordered Honey blossom, the Cajun dark and stormy, and the bourbon lemonade. They were mixed very well, I would recommend them to really anyone. The bourbon or whiskey list (sorry can't recall) can be overwhelming. My fiance just decided to ask the waiter for a suggestion within his price range. Appetizer, we had the turtle soup and trio of deviled eggs. Both delicious. I would definitely order it again, but their menu looks so good that I want to try something else. Entrees Shrimp and grits and the Louisiana seafood gumbo. I didn't try the shrimp and grits because it had ham in it, but my fiance demolished it and he forgot we were getting dessert. My gumbo was good, and I can appreciate that they were pretty heavy with the seafood in it. I actually had to stop myself because I still wanted dessert. I forgot the name of the type of chocolate cake, but it was SOO yummy and it was very moist and not too rich. I actually prefer when dessert isnt rich. His white chocolate bread pudding, was good as well but I'm not much of a white chocolate fan. Overall, I'm glad we picked this place. I couldn't be more please with the service AND the food. And we are definitely coming back because my fiance loves Cajun/creole style. I think he wants to try more options here.
