The cocktails play with lesser-known Asian ingredients, adding them to familiar cocktails like the “whiskey (sweet and) sour,” made with ginger, sesame, aquafaba, amaretto, and whiskey. And if you’re hungry, you can order from Little Fatty, the associated Taiwanese-inspired spot next door, and the food will promptly be brought to your table. (Think modern takes on classic dishes like squid ink soup dumplings and General Tso's cauliflower.) The elegant apple martini is upgraded with clarified Granny Smith apple juice, Thai basil, and white balsamic vinegar. "Accomplice is a small bar in Mar Vista and a place you go specifically to drink perfect cocktails. The menu is broken into three sections - riffs, classics, and specials. Whatever you go with will be one of the better-made cocktails on the Westside. That includes the poorly balanced negroni you make for yourself at home three times a week. The place does get crowded during peak weekend times and Happy Hour, but no one’s obnoxious about how drunk they’re getting. If you get hungry, you can order-in anything from the Taiwanese spot, Little Fatty, next door." - brant cox
