The vegan bowls are sooooo delicious! We drive from Roxbury just to get the bowls. They have gluten free and delicious impossible meat!

Very clean, swift taking the order, as well as preparing. Order was 100% correct nothing missing or wrong in the order. I have a picky eater or two and everyone really enjoyed their food, Nothing went to waste so definitely recommend. The photos I included is only half of what we ordered. We ordered a pretty good amount of items and still there are so many other dish options available including vegetarian.

Shrimp tacos are amazing! Grilled shrimp burrito is yummy! Big perfectly cooked shrimp! The maduros are picked at optimal ripened! The horchata is refreshing and gives off positive energy! The tamarind juice makes you feel like you're on vacay! Clean seating area! First time here won't be my last!

Authentic Mexican food right in the heart of Jamaica Plain. Cross the street from the Forest Hills T station to grab some tacos or a burrito, then enjoy some homemade flan and a pineapple Jarritos. Grab and go or stay in and eat at the counter. Either way, Achilitos can't be beat. Plan ahead if you're driving there. Street parking is very limited. Or you could park at the Forest Hills T station then cross the street. Your best bet is to take the train to get there. The prices are a little higher than I expected when I walked in the door, but the food is really delicious and everything seems to be authentic & homemade.

Love the JP spot. Haven't visited other locations, yet. Food always good. Good prices. Friendly and helpful staff. love the environment, just wish there was more room to sit and enjoy your food. The seating faces the street and is always clean. Perfect treat or meal at the end of a long day.

Stopped by today around 830ish to discover they were closed with a sign that said “CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!” with lights on and everything. So as you can imagine, I was just as shocked to see they were closed so early. It’s sad when neighborhoods staples like this come to an end. I was sure this place was gonna be one of those fast food places that was or sure would stick around for awhile longer. Hopefully this was just a short hiccup in the moment and looking forward to being able to have these random moments of pop in’s again.

I had the Baja shrimp bowl and added steak it was soooo good! The food is really fresh and they fry the shrimp when you order it. Very flavorful. The service was good too. You can dine in. Just be mindful that the restaurant is very small.

Had a carnitas taco and steak taco that were good. The corn tortilla was fresh and there was a decent amount of protein in each one, but both could have used more seasoning and salsa. Seemed a touch pricey for what it was, but it scratched my taco itch. Place was clean and service was quick.

I've ordered this place a few more times since my first review! Best burritos!!!!!!!!!!! I love their fillings, they even have fried plantains, great for those of us who don't want meat or just blaaah rice and beans. This place is SO GOOD!

These bad reviews are interesting. Orders being made wrong is top complaint, I guess we'll see about that because today wasn't one of those days! Birria taco, brisket enchiladas, and brisket tostada. The flavors are great with the brisket! Some of the brisket was a bit dry, but didn't care much since I had leftover BIRRIA BROTH and a small thing of taqueria hot sauce that came with the tostada. Decent rice, refried beans. My only other wish is I wish you can actually order the sauces that come with tostada separate. I would pay extra for more of those.

The food is very good, albeit a tad pricey. One word of caution though, they go out of their way to overcharge you!! Even when you bring it to their attention, they still over charge you. Its incredible and they do it every single time. Someone needs to investigate them. Check their reviews, I'm not the only one saying this. Don't say that I didn't warn you!

We used Achilito's to cater a dinner for 80 athletes before a Competition. The food was stupendous. We ordered the taco party with grilled chicken and impossible meat. Every single thing in the order was delicious. The team loved it so much that we ordered again a few weeks later when we returned to the area. They cheered when they saw the Achilitos truck driving up to the hotel! The chicken was very generously portioned and came with tortillas, beans, rice, cheese, sauce, lettuce, etc. The impossible meat was absolutely delicious and everyone loved it. We will be ordering from here next year! I cannot recommend this place enough. We worked with Margaret in catering and she was very attentive to the food allergies that we needed to accommodate.

Ordered a carnitas burrito. Took about three minutes to make and was tasteless. Pork was bland and too soft with no texture. Tortilla itself fell apart as I bit into it. Lettuce was unremarkable, as was the sour cream and cheese, and there was no sauce or salsa as advertised. Tossed it after four bites (wanted to give it the good old college try). Waste of $10.70.

Amazing food that makes you feel that you're back to the motherland with each and every spice, condiment, and each bite you take that those taste buds run wild. The staff is amazing, very friendly and approachable, and most importantly the food is fresh and amazing to have on any time of day.

I really enjoyed my first trip here today. I ordered the carnitas bowl. I got the small and it was plenty of food (and I'm a big eater) Pork was well flavored and all the toppings I chose were fresh and delicious. I loved the ambiance inside and the staff was friendly. I will definitely be back

THE BEST. We love the burritos. They are the bomb. Add corn salsa. Get a side of yucca fries. Out of 30+ orders only had one mistake ever and they corrected it immediately. Everything is good.

This will be the last time I try this place out! I first tried this place out about a year ago as my mother in law stated how great it was. I preordered for pickup over their website a Steak and Plantain burrito. The burrito did not have any steak in it. Last night, I ordered a Chicken and Plantain burrito, and the burrito didn't have any chicken. Not sure how they can get an order wrong twice when I am selecting what's an item on their menu versus a made to order burrito. The burrito was good, but it wasn't what I ordered.

I effing LOVE this place and I've only ordered once! 4 Grilled cod and al pastor burritos and both TASTED AMAZING!!! We added grilled onions and peppers to all of them. Thinking we're going to try the Baja shrimp next time. After much consideration, I'm leaving the stars at 5 although they charge $13 for a pretty small burrito, especially compared to Anna's Taqueria, which gives you quality and quantity at a more reasonable price. All that said, this place is closer to home and the food so far, impressive to say the least : ) I'll update as I venture the remainder of the menu

I'm not sure why this place has so many great reviews. I just ordered a steak taco, a shrimp taco, and a steak taco plate from the JP location. The steak was very bland. I ate the two fried shrimp and threw the rest of the tacos in the trash. My niece did not like the taco plate and asked if she could trash it as well.

Amazing food and great prices! I never review restaurants but I got the birria taco which was one of the best tacos I've ever had, and the Tex-Mex bowl which had a great portion of food and tasted amazing. The only thing was they mixed up my drink and they gave me a ginger ale instead of a seltzer, but that's not a huge deal. That might have been an issue with GrubHub and not necessarily with the restaurant itself. The Tex-Mex bowl was a great portion of food evenly proportioned and the taco was probably about six inches long and came with a yummy sauce and 2 lime wedges to add to it. I honestly thought that with the GrubHub prices I've gotten used to that I would end up with small portions and still be hungry after eating but I truly enjoyed Achilto's food to the last bite and ended my meal with a full stomach. Highly recommended for fans of tacos and taco bowls!

Any place that has honey hot wings has my heart, and the fact that Achilito's has an option for sprinkling cheese on them has won my soul! This place has indoor seating along the window which is PERFECT for people watching, one my of favorite pastimes, so I enjoyed eating it. I originally ordered the honey hot wings and yuca fries, but was given regular fries. I didn't mind because it was delicious, but I did mention it to the cashier, and she brought out some yuca fries for me free of charge! That was so sweet! And the yuca fries were bomb.com. Parking can be tight since it's across from Forrest hill, but if you have a chance to stop by for the wings, I highly recommend it! Hot, crispy, and fill of flavor!

I'm supremely annoyed with Achilitos. We have ordered from them numerous times a d the food is good, some of the best Mexican that will deliver to us. However, the food takes FOREVER! It's ridiculous. When we order through *another app* you can see the delivery car just sitting around for 10-20 minutes before it decides to pickup the order and bring it. We would be loyal customers otherwise, but I'm done with this absurd wait time. If you can pick up or go in, it's great, but avoid delivery unless you want to starve!

A solid place for Mexican! Maybe want to give this 3.5 stars but gotta round up bc covid. The tacos were pretty bland unless you put the salsa on, so don't forget the toppings! The Elote was delicious, maybe a little too saucy, but then I used the extra sauce for my tacos so I can't complain. The pupusas were just alright and the horchata yummy and very sweet (if you are into the sort of thing) The place is not bad and I think maybe one step up from chilacates down the street.

This has become a go to place for take out in our house. Fresh and tasty. Haven't been disappointed yet. Love the ability to customize each dish. Also super fast on delivery. Highly recommend!!

Looking for lunch on a Friday in Hyde Park, MA... tired of the usual burgers and sandwiches. I scoured Grub Hub and found Achilito's Taqueria. Let's dive right in. First of all I ordered two fried cod tacos, I love fish tacos and was really looking forward too this. Was I let down, not really but i have had better. The food was without a doubt very fresh and tasted clean. I think it tasted clean because it lacked proper seasoning, there was some salt but nothing else. As you can see in the attached picture, the taco is a bit sloppy. I don't mind some sloppiness but this was a bit much, it overloaded the soft wheat shell and ruined the experience a bit. Certainly there is a lot of potential here and i will give them another shot, maybe a hard corn tortilla would help. So... decent flavor, lacks some seasoning, a bit too sloppy but worth another shot. Remember I said i ordered through Grub Hub? Well these two soft shell tacos and a 20 ounce Diet Coke came to just over $30 after they added their delivery fee and the driver tip. $30 for two fish tacos... based on that alone i will not order from Achilito's using Grub Hub!

Fantastic food and lots of vegetarian options. Everything was so flavorful and fresh! Staff were extremely sweet and pleasant. Felt like a quick trip to Mexico.

The food is great here but they will absolutely nickle and dime you on every single last thing. I got a $13 burrito that ended up being $17 because they gave me nearly no toppings so I had to ask for a bit more of each and they charged me a dollar each. Not premium stuff either, it was insane.

I've been here twice now (last time was beginning of March pre-pandemic). They offer a variety of favorites like tacos, burritos, etc. It's more of an authentic feel than a Chipotle but similar concept to choose your own toppings. Staff is friendly and service is quick. I appreciate they have a customer use restroom as well which comes in handy when I take a lunch break from my volunteer work nearby. They have counter seating which is limited but I've always found a spot during the week around lunch. Looking forward to going back when I'm in the Forest Hills area again!

This is a really great spot. Very friendly staff. Very clean restaurant. would be great if they toast the hard shell taco before adding the fixings.

Great food when they get the order right. Couple of times have ordered a burrito and not been the burrito I ordered. Highly suggest going to the shop and not ordering online/over phone. Little expensive but nothing crazy.

Online order came missing drinks and salsa. Ruined the meal. Dry almost inedible burritos made of 95% rice. All the cheese was at the bottom and beans were barely there. Menu SOUNDS amazing but the actual food was terrible. It's too bad because the options sound amazing. Maybe ill try one more time in the future because I really want to try my food with all requested ingredients and I also want to enjoy what's on the menu.

I've now ordered from Achilitos for delivery about 6 times over the last couple years. The only reason I keep going back rather than checking out another burrito place with 4 or 5 stars is because they're the only place I can find that has gluten-free tortillas for burritos. So, here's the problem, they consistently get the burrito ingredients wrong. Sometimes I think I shouldn't bother checking off the ingredients that we're required to check off before the order can be placed in the cart and just accept what they give me. Last night was the closest to my ever receiving the right ingredients, except, my carnitas burrito had exactly one fairly small piece of meat. Ugh. Otherwise, it tasted good, as it usually does, but I was looking forward to some tasty carnitas. Also, at 5:45 pm, I placed a scheduled delivery for the window between 7-7:30. Two minutes after placing the order, I got an Uber Eats communication that notified me that the order would arrive at 6:30 and that they had started to make the order. I called the restaurant and the outgoing message said they weren't taking calls. I looked on Uber Eats app and there was no option for a phone call or chat. Just a contact form to fill in, but my topic wasn't on the drop-down menu and there was no "Other reason" option to choose either, so I couldn't progress unless I choose a reason for a choice other than my reason. I gave up after this. Then, about 20 minutes later, I got a notification that the order would arrive at 6:59. They must have noticed my order instructions by that time. This place frustrates the heck out of me, and I would probably order from them for delivery twice as much as I currently do if they would get things right, but for now, when I'm in the mood for a burrito, they're my only option. At least their food tastes pretty good.

Cute neighborhood restaurant. I ordered nachos with carnitas, mango salsa, sour cream and spinach. The carnitas were crispy and so goood with the chips and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The only seating is a row of seats along the window which I enjoyed while eating. This will definitely be my go to spot for something quick and good to the stomach!

Food is good, but customer service is ATROCIOUS. I ordered from Postmates 2 bowls (one shrimp and one fish), and what arrived was one burrito. The sticker on the bag had my order correct, but the food was not. My angel of a Postmates driver said, not to worry, she would grab the right order, and asked if I could just call in advance. Ohhhh lordy. I called and was first told that my Postmates order didn't exist, even though i had just received a Postmates order (albeit wrong). Then I was told very rudely that I didn't order properly, that I didn't say if it was a bowl or a burrito, or tacos, or enchiladas, etc.. I explained that I didn't WRITE the order I clicked a button from THEIR menu. She yelled at me for a bit about that. She then yelled that I needed to bring back the burrito...no problem lady, my Postmates girl is on it. She then hung up on me. 5 minutes later I got a call from the angel Postmates driver saying that the restaurant has agreed to make 1 bowl, but is refusing to make my other bowl....so i text her my receipt which clearly indicates that I've paid for two bowls... doesn't matter. Postmates Corporate gets involved and speaks to the owner of Achillitos and he is now getting yelled at, and they STILL won't make my bowl. My poor Postmates driver had to leave because they were yelling at her in the store and she was afraid she was going to get out. Me, my Postmates driver, and the man from Postmates Corporate are all totally baffled as to what happened, and why, but take my advice, NEVER order out from Achilitos!

I've ordered take out (delivery via Postmates)from here a few times over quarantine. I love the chimichangas (smothered burrito). It seems like you get your classic Mexican fare here without issue. However my favorite thing is the loaded queso. Ugh I dream of it! It's incredible, do yourself a favor and order it! One star knocked Because there were a couple of instances where they completely forgot an item in my order, though it's unclear if that's a postmates error or their own.

The food is great if you can even get it, I placed an order through door dash and when the guy arrived to pick up the food the place was closed. Then of course the restaurant had no one answering phones (probably due to being closed while taking my money for orders). Door Dash has not refunded me the $60 plus dollars for this order.

I won't give this place the 5 stars just because they suck at delivery. I have tried this place twice, the first time was dine in and everything was delicious. I had the plantain burrito and a chicken flauta. They have really good hot sauce (salsa taquera and habanero sauce). The second time I ordered online. They were supposed to deliver to my house that is 10 minutes away from the restaurant in 15 minutes or at least that was what the website said and they ended up delivering my food 1 hour and 10 minutes after that. I was mad and hungry... HANGRY! Food is delicious just don't order delivery haha.

This place is a joke horrible service. We ordered food twice here. The first time they sent us the wrong order, and said someone will bring the right order. Today my daughter placed a $75 order and it said 8:55pm delivery time guess what now they're closed.

I live around the corner from Achilito's and have ordered their food more times than I can count. Sometimes there are minor issues with the orders (extra cheese instead of no cheese, forgetting to add the extras like avocado to the burrito, etc), but I'm willing to forgive a lot because I like having them in the area and when the order is correct, it's so so so good! I can personally vouch for the Baja Shrimp Burrito Bowl, the Chicken Taco Salad, and the Chicken Quesadilla. I've ordered all of them multiple times. When I ordered the churros & caramel sauce, I was disappointed to find that they only sent 1 churro and no sauce. I was able to get a refund for the item through GrubHub, but the churro was REALLY good so I'm still disappointed that the order only comes with 1!

I had the great misfortune of ordering from this restaurant. Delivery time took 2 hours, I called after 1 and when I inquired how long it would take I was informed 10 minutes, that obviously was false. Next my order when it did arrive was stale and incorrect. Let me elaborate not only was it made wrong it was incomplete and I did not receive everything I ordered. To top it off no one answers the phones and I called over 10 times to ask for my missing items to no avail (Infact I think I was hung up on) before I decided to write this review. 0 stars if possible. Requested a refund through eatstreet since this is a disaster. In response to the owners comment below I think we can see the problem with this restaurant, additionally so from her response to other negative comments. Dismissive at best. 1. I did not want a refund initially (you offered it before the food had even arrived because your delivery was extremely late) because I'm not here for a free meal. But when I pay $40 and don't even receive the correct order that is in fact MISSING items, then I have a different outlook. Luckily I ordered through yelp/eatstreet so I was able to get my refund. 2. That is no excuse not to answer the phone to your business from a paying customer, I was calling to let you know you did not deliver everything I PAID for and see if you could correct that. 3. A proper business would call back. I called over the span of 20 minutes so I find your excuse disingenuous and my initial deduction that you were hanging up on me accurate. tl:dr After 2 hours of waiting the order arrives, made poorly, not with the specifications I requested, missing items (key issue here is the incomplete order for money I paid) and generally very bad food. Proceed to call the business only to have my calls cancelled/rejected continuously and now find out the owner was purposely doing this. Got my refund through a 3rd party due to inability to reach the restaurant. Classy establishment.

To keep it simple, Average. I bought a "crispy" quesadilla & I wasn't satisfied. Im just tired for food spots selling the word "CRISPY" knowing damn well it's not!

The shrimp bowl was soooo yummy the hibiscus tea hit the spot.. I can't wait to go back there and get done more yummy food! Only thing that mad e me give it a 4 star was the chips were stale.. but everything else was up to par

You know, pretty solid food. Got a few tacos which were decently priced, and they give you 2 corn tortillas per taco, which is a good start. The wait to have my order taken was a little too long tbh, but that's also likely because it seems like they have an intense take out/call in business, so they were prepping those orders. If I'm in the area, I'd probably give it another go. The tacos were just a bit bland...tbh I compare most tacos to straight up Mexican tacos, which is a pretty unfair comparison. But they are clean, friendly, and have a pretty big selection. I also then walked half an hour home, which also likely impacts their flavor. I'd give it another go for sure.

I haven't posted a review in a while, and I feel this place deserves 5 stars. I split the chicken quesadilla with a friend - delicious - and delivers well (no mess) and I got the spicy steak taco and my friend got the spicy chicken taco. The flavors were great and the right kind of spice had taste. Delicious. We also opted for the churro with caramel sauce. WOW. I have never had a better churro. After all the food devoured, dessert included, we felt happy and full. Tip: get a few churros - I wish I had gotten more! Delivered in 30 minutes or less.

I think I've been ordering from here since they opened. This is truly my favorite Mexican style restaurant to order from in Boston. I have tried SO many things and every time it's absolutely delicious. They're always on time or early and very friendly. The churros are to die for and I love the steak fajita flautas. THEIR NACHOS ARE THE SHIT!!!!!!!! Seriously this place is worth it!!!!!!!

I've been dying for good pupusas to make they're way to Roslindale / JP area , so I was excited when I saw a nice big sign outside this place. I'm vegetarian and was delighted to see the many options they had, when I went to order they literally had only one type of pupusa (chicharrón) just my luck! My boyfriend got two with the Cole slaw and sauce and he was not a fan. The pupusa was extremely greasy and curtido and sauce it comes with was so small. The place overall was very nice and looked clean but the staff needs better management & better costumer service.

Ordered through Grubhub a couple of times and the food was delicious but I'm never ordering from this place again. The order I received was completely wrong and not only was it not what I ordered, but it was all smushed up and disgusting looking. Tried to call the restaurant multiple times but no one picks up and couldn't leave a voicemail because their inbox was full (probably with complaints).

As a vegan, this has QUICKLY become my new favorite, go-to for Mexican, they have a large variety of vegan options and the flavors are amazing! I'm obsessed 10/10
