"After months of delays and public lamentations over the lack of tacos, Achilito’s Taqueria (38 Hyde Park Ave., Boston) will finally open Saturday, October 6 at 11 a.m., and I expect it will begin to fulfill the demands of its taco-loving public. The menu includes tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and bowls topped with guacamole, crema, cilantro, onion, and salsa, with protein choices such as cod from local company Red’s Best, grilled red chili shrimp (available extra spicy with a “fuego” sauce), carne asada, brisket, carnitas, pork, chicken, and grilled vegetables. Inside, there’s a bar-height counter with chairs running the length of the windows and a mural of Frida Kahlo on the wall — a trend for Jamaica Plain taquerias — and the restaurant will operate Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m." - Dana Hatic
