My wife and I had our wedding catered by ACT Catering at the Chabot Space & Science Center late last year, and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of food and the professionalism of the staff throughout the entire process. Brie, our main point of contact, was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the entire 1.5 years of wedding planning. She went above and beyond, connecting us with our florist and helping us find the exact decor we envisioned from a partner vendor. Brie and her staff took the best care of us, making sure that everything transitioned smoothly from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner so we didn’t have to worry about a single thing on our wedding day. So many of our guests came up to us during and after our wedding to rave about the food and service that ACT provided. We highly recommend ACT Catering to anyone looking for a wedding caterer, they are truly one of the best in the Bay Area!

Wonderful, Delicious, and Professional! The 3 words I would use to describe ACT Catering. In a year with more than the average number of weddings Kristine and her team were amazing at being responsive and accommodating. I reached out to over 10 caterers initially in the planning stages and ACT stood out from the rest from the first outreach. Their team was able to cater (pardon the pun) to our needs for the setting which was outdoors with a bar and stationary hors d’oevres. Their team listened to our needs around the vision while providing their own expertise having catered at UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens before. They were able to help lay out the space in planning for a seamless event. The team has worked on many different types of events including weddings so they were able to get our event set up and executed without any issues. During our wedding their team coordinated with the venue independently saving us a lot of time. Also, their team worked with our schedule for a tasting and they suggested foods for our needs to include a menu that was amenable to dietary restrictions. On the day of the event they ran the event, cleanup, and cake cutting and serving seamlessly for a fantastic event. We had rave reviews from all attendees about the professionalism of the staff, the beautiful event setup, and the delicious food!

Highly recommended. ACT has been my first choice caterer for over a decade. Very professional staff, excellent food with unlimited options, and they make every event special. They have catered themed receptions, breakfasts, lunches, BBQs, dinners, and sit-down formal banquets.

I'm sure the food is good but I spent 3 hours trying to order their food and ultimately we couldn't place the order after much back and forth. They also tacked on ~200% the original cost in fees that were not disclosed originally. $50 deliver + $150 catering fee (still don't understand as we just wanted it dropped off) + huge service fee with two different lines + a gratuity that I couldn't get clarity for. I hope they succeed because it sounds like a quality business.

ACT Catering was our caterer for our 80th birthday party for 60 guests at the UC Botanical Garden's Julia Morgan Hall in May, 2025. Their hard work, responsiveness and attention to detail made our party a great success. It was a pleasure working with both Kristine and Brie in planning the event. The tasting session to choose our menu was essental to fine tune the menu and they did a great job. They were extremely flexible in allowing us to make changes as we finalized the event and let us supply our own beverages without a corkage fee. The food presentation was beautiful and quite delicious, plus the service was always with a smile. The flowers from their recommended florist far exceeded our expectations. We can't thank them enough for the huge part they paid in making our party so enjoyable. Our guests all loved it!

I recently had a catered lunch from here at a conference, and it was impressive. We had bento boxes as part of the conference and the choice was between tofu and salmon. I opted for salmon and it was fresh and delicious. It had 2 small salmon skewers, perfectly seasoned and cooked (so impressive with 40+ boxes), a fresh summer roll with a dipping sauce (what a smart way to serve a salad in an easy to eat, non messy way), and braised bok choy. It was at a conference, so I'm unsure of the pricing, but it was a great way to get a taste of this catering company. I would recommend it as an option if you needed boxed lunches that were both substantial, delicious and healthy. I'd assume their other offerings for events live up to it, as well.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin with my absolute adoration of ACT??? ACT Catering was a preferred caterer with my wedding venue (Chabot Space & Science Center). I was trying to plan a budget-friendly wedding and was honestly feeling very unsure about booking with a preferred caterer. To be completely honest (because I know I'm not alone in this), I wasn't sure if I would get good food at the right price from a more limited number of caterers, and I've heard similar skepticism from my other friends who were planning weddings around the same time as me. ACT proved me wrong and I am so, so, SO glad I chose to work with them!!!! When I was in the research-gathering stage of planning, they were completely understanding of that part of the process and provided me with detailed, transparent proposals to help me make the most informed decision possible. That was so important to me because booking a caterer was the biggest cost of my wedding, and they were so understanding of that! I never felt like I was asking too many questions, and in fact I felt like they wanted me to have all of the information I wanted/needed to make my decision. I gathered quotes from every vendor on our preferred caterer list, and working with ACT was a no-brainer. My primary contact was Brie, and there are not enough words to describe how wonderful she is. She made us feel like we were the only event she was coordinating (which was totally not true, they're busy bees and I now understand why!). She was so patient with all of the back and forth as I asked for different quotes for different inclusions (e.g., rentals, amount of food, drinks), and made sound recommendations when I told her which aspects of the planning I wanted to save money on. I never felt pressured or upsold - she met me where I was at and really helped me achieve my goals within that range. When you work with her, she is on your team and all in for you! Because she had worked with our venue so much, she knew ALL of the ins and outs of working there and gave us so much helpful feedback for how to schedule the wedding and set up the space so it was elegant and fun, but also functional. On the day of the wedding, the ACT team was professional, prompt, attentive, and thorough. They got our space set up SUPER quickly, our food was fresh and delicious, and they made sure guests had anything they needed all night long. We got so many compliments on our food after the wedding, someone even asked for the salad recipe so they could recreate it on their own! Working with ACT and Brie was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding day. I recommend them so, SO highly!!

This Thanksgiving I was treated with an amazing feast from ACT Catering. It's an unusual Thanksgiving due to Covid so my family skipped the big celebration to be on the safe side and stay healthy. When the delivery arrived I couldn't be any happier with this spread to my doorstep with the heating instructions enclosed. Each dish was carefully packed, labeled and with a beautiful presentation. Thank you to the amazing food, service and hardworking staff that prepared this exquisite meal. Just see the photos I've attached and feel free to drool on them! Act Catering sure knows how to bring beautiful, in season food to your table! They prepare meals that are paired with every detail in mind. Each item packaged with care and labeled for your ease. During Covid-19, their curbside pick up is a super easy stop. Make sure to order in advance as they are getting busy. I loved how my feast for two had detailed instructions on how to properly heat up every dish. My partner and I enjoyed a lovely holiday feast, turned to date night. The sides were just as good as the main! Lamb, pomegranate brussel sprouts, blood orange salad, au gratin potatoes, and a decadent bread pudding were just the right combinations to hit the spot. I was unbelievably impressed by the food included in my Thanksgiving for order! Everything came packed in compostable & recyclable packaging. Instructions were included and the food was easy to heat, assemble, and serve. The use of seasonal ingredients in their menu was so incredibly tasty. Everything was seasoned perfectly! My fave was the persimmons and garlic mashed potatoes. The team had great communication and were incredibly kind. I definitely look forward to ordering from ACT in the future!

I hired ACT Catering for our wedding at Hacienda de las Flores in August 2021. I was blown away when Kristine hit the nail on the head with the menu after our initial conversation. I could not have envisioned something more delicious and fun. I described our wedding plans and some thoughts on the food we wanted - my husband is Indian and we wanted flavorful food that would be interesting and tasty. The food was beautiful, delicious, flavorful and fun! Kristine was very receptive and communicative and a pleasure to work with. Her team was really wonderful for the tasting and day-of as well. In addition to the food, Kristine was able to help out with our wedding chairs and lighting which was just what I wanted. I truly appreciate Kristine and her team. I feel like I've discovered a secret. At the time of writing this review, ACT Catering only has 8 reviews! Our first sample of ACT was their Thanksgiving menu. We're not huge fans of traditional turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce, so when we saw the vegetarian menu of stuffed bell peppers with jackfruit, warm artichoke and persimmon salad, sweet potato and bread stuffing, olive oil mashed potatoes, and purple yam cake with graham cracker crust and coconut milk topping, we were immediately intrigued. We ordered shortly before they sold out. All we can say is, wow. The food rivals the best meals we've had at Millennium and Gather, which is all the more impressive given that it was delivered and reheated. Instructions were easy to follow: eg, heat in the oven at 325 for 20 minutes, serve at room temperature, etc. Even the presentation was lovely, and we had no trouble plating the food so that it looked much tastier than typical takeout. Also, the portions were huge. We divided the meal into two dinners for two. It was 5 courses, so we had 2 courses plus half of the dessert each night. For the quality of the food alone, the price was very reasonable. Similar quality and quantity at other restaurants would cost up to double. We will definitely try their regular menu next. We had no idea such a delicious restaurant was hiding just an online order away.

I ordered their Valentine's Day meal for two it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. First, it was so much food for such a great price! I was worried that it would be small dishes since it was 5 courses, but nope! Tons of food. Second, my boyfriend fell in love with the chimichurri sauce. Everything was delicious but this sauce specifically stood out because it just paired well with every dish. Third, the instructions were super easy for reheating. The absolutely highest quality shelter-in meals I've had since COVID. Lastly, the customer service was so kind and so accessible! The people were amazing and helpful even though I called them so many times. All in all, a wonderful place, and I look forward to ordering from their next pop up!

ACT Catering is absolutely fabulous to work with!!!! First, their food is wonderful and delicious -- they source their produce locally, so it is always fresh, healthy, and in season, and they take special care to design a menu that suits your audience. We recently organized a conference that included around 300 people, and they managed to create breakfast, lunch, and a robust reception that pleased everyone -- the food was happily consumed by all, and we received many positive comments on it :) But perhaps just as importantly, they are incredibly professional, attentive, and amazing problem solvers. They view their job as not only to provide the best food possible, but also to work with you to create the best experience possible for you and the audience they're cooking for. They worked with me in menu selection, room configuration, and setup design, and at every step of the way, they were kind and insightful. They are smart thought partners as well as fantastic chefs, and I would recommend them highly for any occasion. I loved working with them and look forward to future opportunities to work with them again!

ACT Catering prepared and served my daughter's wedding reception dinner. Everything they did - table setup, food preparation (items from their extensive menu), the multi-course presentation, and overall service - was outstanding and redolent of quality. The large, professional team moved with precision and organization, and was attentive to guests' every want and need. Overall, a sophisticated, first class operation and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

I used ACT a few times since COVID because the presentation is so COVID friendly, the food is DELICIOUS, the portions are big, and the service is really friendly.

ACT Catering donated meals to the Emergency Department where I work as an RN and they were fabulous! It was so nice to have wonderful, healthy and fresh options during a long shift at such a stressful time. The take-out food is as good as it gets! ACT obviously puts tremendous thought into their cooking. Each dish is intricate in the use of spices and sauces, with someone carefully crafting a delicious and healthy meal. It is great value for the cost and you will get hooked like I have. The kitchen is in Emeryville and the pick up couldn't be easier and more sanitary. In addition, they now have delivery service. You need to order a day in advance.

Nana and her team were always amazing with their food and service. The range of events they have catered for me has really shown how strong their capabilities are. They do high end and on a budget just as easily.

They catered a party for 50 people at my house-great food, efficient, pleasant and impeccable service. They took care of everything so I could enjoy the guests. Highly recommend!! Nana Kim organized everything perfectly. Thank you!

These people are great! They service the events at my school (Haas @ UC Berkeley) and provide great variety of foods and drinks. Not to mention the very friendly and cordial staff. I'd recommend them to companies looking for a high-quality option to really "wow" their employees!

We had the Valentines Day Dinner and loved it. The entrée and sides were excellent, even the salad was next level. My only suggestion; separate instruction sheet based on the specific order (Vegan vs Non-Vegan) and label the sauces etc. better.

Kristine and her associate, Lily Yang, planned and executed an incredible post-wedding "bagels and dim sum" brunch for 65 people at our San Rafael home on July 24, 2016. Planning the event was a joy--Kristine and Lily brought tasting samples to our home and adjusted the menu to meet our needs, including finding wood-fired Montreal-style bagels for our family's picky palettes. From this point on, Kristine and Lily handled everything, including table & equipment rentals. They appeared at our house two hours before the event, set up food, drinks, and dessert stations as well as umbrellas, tables and chairs. They brought and prepared the four Chinese salads, dim sum, bagels & pita, cream cheeses & humus, sliced vegetables, fruit plate, and almond cookies, even hand-slicing the lox on-site. Service by their crew of three was impeccable, from the champagne/OJ/ water server to the prompt replenishing of the buffet to the courteous clearing of guests' empty plates. And the food!! Our guests repeatedly commented on how delicious it was, and they kept requesting Kristine's business card. One friend said that she wanted to get her son married, just so she could hire ACT catering for the reception. Cleanup after the event was prompt and thorough. A little too thorough, actually, since the boxed wedding cake for the couple departed with them. But as soon as this was discovered, Lily made a special trip back to our house to make sure it was available when the couple came to finally get a taste of their cake. We are extremely pleased customers and highly recommend ACT catering. We hope to engage their services again in the future.

We had Nana and Christine cater a party for 150 people at the brower center in berkely on January 15. They did a wonderful job: terrific food, great waiter staff, very accomodating to our needs, flexible and willing to work with our budget needs. I cant imagine anything better. There were absolutely no glitches, mistakes, bad food, etc. They did exactly what they said they would do and helped us with decorating as well.
