A friend of mine and I went to Adair Downtown for happy hour right after a long day of work. First of all, a huge negative was how difficult it was to find the restaurant. It is inside a building in the lower levels. The other was that this very very small spot is made to look much larger and much more attractive via social media, but I don't really think I would recommend it.
Where we entered the restaurant, it just looked like an airport convenience store, where I'm assuming this model is conducive to a large flow of lunch traffic from the building employees. It's just a little off putting if you don't work their. You almost feel like you're about to get cafeteria food before you sit down.
We sat down and when we asked about happy hour, which was heavily promoted through social media, we were told they did not have one, but they did have bar bites. We ordered drinks, a dirty martini and a sparkling rosé and ordered the Brussels sprouts, a prosciutto flat bread, and the prime rib sliders.
The drink section will be rather short. The Brit rose I ordered was MUCH too expensive and came in a very small, barely filled champagne flute. Wouldn't recommend. And the dirty martini, according to my friend, was also pretty lack luster and not that great. If you're just going for a drink after work, we wouldn't recommend.
The prosciutto flat bread was actually pretty good, but the prosciutto was very over cooked making some pieces very hard to chew. The prime rib sliders were an incredible disappointment. I was expecting the burger patty like sliders, but received what looked like very thinly sliced over cooked roast beef. Another disappointment was with the undercooked "caramelized" onions. It tasted awful and very much like prepackaged cafeteria food, which is sad because the a jus was good and so was the sauce on the sliders. The Brussels sprouts were however, so of the best I have ever had! They were crispy and not at all oily. To this day I think about these.
TLDR:
Brut Rose: 0/5
Dirty Martini: 0/5
Brussels Sprouts: 5/5
Prosciutto Flat Bread: 2/5
Prime Rib Sliders: 1/5
