Visitor from Chicago. Was in St. Louis 3 months ago for a doctor visit, stopped here and had a great experience, so I came back this week with the family for vacation and had to share that experience with them. The food is amazing, you cant go wrong with any of it, you have to order one of everything to make sure you try them all. Early bird gets the worm so make sure you go early enough. The owner and staff are very hospitable. You get great service while here and its something you'll definitely admire. You're treated as a family or friend not a stranger. Stop by Adam's Smokehouse and enjoy an unforgettable meal!

Google
Great feel walking in. Family owned and operated. If visiting St Louis and want to have a real bbq experience l, come here! Known for amazing ribs, if they sell out, the brisket and turkey are unique and fantastic. Thin sliced, moist and guests couldn’t decide which was best! The Smoked Salami (made in house) was awesome and made a great sandwich! They aren’t shy on the portions, and the signature beans will not disappoint for those that love them.

Just Wow!! If anyone follows my reviews, they know our favorite places tend to be the Mom and Pop type. We're not necessarily fans of corporate anything. Which brings us to this little gem. Wow were we pleasantly surprised. We were out hitting a few estate/yard sales and decided on an early lunch. I did a little Google search and found Adam's Smokehouse. It sounded really good and we hadn't had BBQ in a while. Found it easily close to the corner of Watson and Southwest. Adam's is small and the parking could be challenging but we were early and parked in front of the main entrance. We walked in, made our choices, and sat down at a high top. The food came out rather quickly, and the service was outstanding. The staff was gracious and very helpful with the sauces and options of food choices. The style of BBQ here is Memphis Dry Rub, which we both love. The Ribs were fantastic, perfect combination of tender with a slight tug off the bone. The Pulled Pork was very tender and had a great flavor. The Burnt Ends were really good, and my wife had the Burnt Ends Salad and said it was possibly the best salad she's ever had. Outstanding! And don't forget the Pit Beans, perfect! We ordered more Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, and Pit Beans for our Son and dinner later. We also had a Chocolate Chip Bar/Brownie, and it finished everything off very well. We met Mike, the owner, and had a great conversation. What a nice guy. Great people are working here, trying hard to make your experience a great one. We really enjoyed our lunch and our time here at Adam's Smokehouse. We will definitely be going back anytime we crave quite possibly, "The" Best BBQ In St Louis!! Highly Recommended-MVP!! Thanks Mike!

Google
A friend of mine brought me some ribs and brisket, the glazed ribs are great and one of a kind taste, the brisket was tender, thin, and juicy mild and ready for any sauce. Would love to have more of a crust on the brisket like the ribs, but still good quality tender BBQ.

Google
The food was amazing ! If you can stop in and try their food , you will not regret it ! My husband and I ordered the ribs and yes we ordered them a day ahead of time right online- I read the reviews and noticed they do run out of things because like any other business left over food cost could hurt so I definitely understand and they are that good ! We were able to park right outside and eat at one of their dine in tables . Thank you so much for the amazing food we will be back when passing through again !

Google
Driving through we wanted some good BBQ. We stumbled on this place. Thankfully we did. The brisket sandwich was delicious. So tender and flavorful. Some of the best I have ever had!!! Speaking with the owner he told us about the homemade smoked salami. Now this was Delicious as well. Anytime I’m out in the area I am stopping here to eat. Next will be the Apple Butter Ribs.

Google
Getting my KC bf acclimated to STL BBQ. We stopped for a quick bite to eat on a chilly day. The brisket was tasty and the beans were 🔥. My bf had never had smoked salami and he liked it a lot. They were sold out of several items which to me is just a testimony on how popular they are. Looking forward to going back to tasting more of the items

Google
This place came highly recommended. They are in the top 3 as for as Ribs. Top 5 as for Burnt ends. They fell off with Beef Brisket, which was too thin and no bark. Same with Turkey, not a lot of smoke to thin. The pit beans were great. Potato salad was good. Great sauce. Friendly owner. The fastest service I have seen. Definitely, if you are looking for good Ribs, Burnt ends, and Pit Beans, this is the place. They sell out fast and try to get there when they open. After lunch, you are out of luck.

Yelp
I would say that this is really more of a review for the ribs. They are really the best ribs I've had in the st louis area There are other things here which are okay. The beans are a bit too sweet, and the burnt ends are fine, but not as good as the ribs. i really don't think there is too much else to say about this place. there is seating and the lighting is decent. they don't seem to open on time necessarily, but the good thing is that since they open early (like 10:30 on sundays), as long as you come in before 11 i think you should have an easy time getting seats one note about the ribs, which is that i really don't think they need any sauce. they are already plenty flavorful and have the right amount of juice to them such that i don't think you need to add anything

Rodney D.

Yelp
This was just a little hole in the wall place that we decided to try. It's a nice little place with nice people. Excellent baked beans. Chicken was excellent also. The brisket was different than what I'm used to, but it was just fine.

Yelp
The service here was fantastic! Super friendly, and the food took roughly 30 seconds to be put in front of us. Everything was great, but the ribs were especially amazing! They made sure to make you feel like you were a regular just by stopping in, and I can't wait to try to become one! I'll definitely be back and will order the ribs again!
google avatar

Yelp
My pulled rib sandwich was very tender and on a nice soft bun. The staff are always friendly and efficient. You can tell they love their work and their customers.
google avatar

Jim K.

Yelp
As always, the food is great and the service is outstanding! Make sure to try their burnt ends and rids. They are the best, and we haven't found better in or out of the area.

Yelp
I knew I was gonna be in for a treat when the owner recommended I eat the meats without sauce first. I stopped by right at opening before heading out on a road trip. Grabbed a half slab of ribs and burnt ends and wow so tasty. They gave me 3 sauces and I enjoyed the meats more without the sauce. The burnt ends were juicy and flavorful. The ribs were so well balanced - Smokey, salty, sweet, peppery. Nothing over powering the others. Great quality bbq and straight to the point. This is my new favorite spot in the STL area.

Yelp
First time visiting this terrific bbq restaurant! It's a small eat-in restaurant space that's cozy. Order at the counter from the friendly staff who tell you all about their menu. We shared a full rack of pork ribs and side of smokehouse baked beans. Really liked the smoked flavor of the dry rubbed ribs. The baked beans were tasty with small meat chunks in the sauce. Highly recommend Adam's Smokehouse!

Yelp
We found this restaurant through yelp. The smoked ribs were amazing! The owner is super nice and the food is absolutely delicious.

Yelp
Went back this weekend just to have the smoked jack fruit BBQ. This so good and a great plant based option for those of us trying to mix it up and eat more plant based. I'm not a vegetarian but sometimes for health reasons I'd rather eat the jack fruit than meat. It's great having the option. I'll def do it again.

Yelp
The BBQ here just wasn't it. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork and the overall execution was lacking. Look at the photos - the brisket and pulled pork look extremely dry (and they were). I don't mind the thinly sliced brisket if it was cooked well. However, the smokiness was almost non-existent and definitely needed sauce to save it. It's also not because it's the flat since I've had multiple really juicy flats. The pulled pork was so dry I had trouble swallowing it alone. Even doused in sauce, the texture is still the same. The rub used was pretty good though. The service here is 10/10 and everyone was so friendly.

Yelp
Wowow! What an incredible bbq spot. My mom and I have been wanting to come to Adam's for a long time, and yesterday was the day! I was especially excited since Yelp just came out with their top 10 BBQ spots in stl, and this gem nailed a spot on the list. We walked in around 1pm, and there was no line (which was a relief, because I've seen it become quite crowded after driving by). We were greeted by the super friendly staff and were told what they had left (to be expected- it's almost after lunch time at a bbq spot... if you want a full menu, ya gotta go early). The spot inside is quaint but definitely has pleasantly of seating. It's relaxed and has lots of stl pride on the walls :) I ended up ordering the pulled pork sandwich with a side of pasta salad. My mom got the pulled rib sandwich with a side for slaw. The food came out quickly (a huge plus of BBQ spots) and I helped myself to a fountain soda. The bun was fluffy and fresh, and was adorned with incredible pulled pork. It was warm and not dry, and was delicious with their choices of sauces on the side. The pasta salad is mayo based, and was super fresh tasting. My mom really enjoyed her rib sandwich and slaw. I've never heard of pulled rib before, it definitely peaked my interest for next time. They also told me they'll be at Grub and Groove this summer at Francis Park which I'm pretty pumped about.

Yelp
Got carry out. Slaw and beans were great. Really enjoyed ribs. We also got a poiud of brisket. It was good until I pulled a long white HAIR out of the bite I had just taken. Completely turned my stomach and was unable to eat and threw the rest of container away.

Yelp
They are back from the holidays so we needed to stop by for our salad fix. Instead of the pulled pork salad, my go-to, I decided to get the Smoked Turkey salad. This pairs so well with the Cranberry Cayenne sauce! Wait a great light but super filling lunch. The turkey so incredibly tender and just melts in your mouth. Service was excellent as always!

Yelp
We were there after the lunch rush, so I'd imagine it's pretty cramped in there during peak hours. An older, jolly man welcomed us when we walked in and explained the features of the restaurant. I ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs with the beans, adding on potato salad as an additional side dish. Extra sides are only $2. The rub on the ribs was delicious--not too sweet but the apple butter added plenty of flavor. The meat was tender and there were no tough nor chewy pieces. The potato salad swung towards the sweeter side and had matchstick carrots in it--different--but still tasty. The beans have a definitive smoke flavor and also contain brisket. The older man checked in on us a couple times and made sure we enjoyed our meal. Definitely worth checking out! I'd call ahead if your heart is set on a particular entree--they do run out of things.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in the hospitality was a 10 out of 10. They were very warm and welcoming and greet you as soon as you walk in the door. I will say come early because they do sell out of food very quickly especially on Sunday. We were lucky enough to get the half slab of rib and burnt ends, potato salad and baked beans. The ribs were probably some of the best ribs I've had in St. Louis and I love sugar fire ribs, the burnt ends could have been a little bit more tender for me but overall had great flavor. This place has a very home style feel and I definitely would recommend anybody going to try this even if it's just to have conversation with the people who work there. We had a great time and enjoyed a wonderful meal at a good price.

Yelp
Amazing ribs, slaw, beans, pork, and brisket. Do not snooze on this place! The close in the evenings so make it happen early and you'll be set!

Yelp
Love this place. Great barbecue! Great side dishes. Great service! Would recommend this place 100%. Bonus.... Really clean!

Yelp
Best ribs ever!!!! Great place, great customer service, super- friendly staff.... Side orders absolutely delicious, as well. Can't wait to go back!!!!

Yelp
Very nice staff and food is amazing!! Doesn't do delivery fees, and the food is far from dry

Ashley G.

Yelp
First off... WOW! We are traveling across the states and wanted to try some BBQ. We wanted to try a place that was local and boy did Adam's hit the spot. We were greeted by the owner and he gave us some recommendations ( we got chicken and brisket with a home smoked beans). The restaurant is quaint and cozy. It has been frequented by people around the world and the workers were all well versed on all menu items! I hate to say, but we ate the food so fast I forgot to take a picture! I'm lucky I still have fingerswe devoured everything and purchased 3 of their homemade sauces-must try! if we ever happen to find ourselves in the St. Louis area, we will be returning!!! Check them out!

Neal G.

Yelp
Best bbq in the area. Ribs phenomenal. Get the baked beans and pasta salad/Mac & cheese. Adam and staff or incredibly nice.

Christina F.

Yelp
Hands down the best BBQ I've had and I'm equally impressed with the customer service! Thank you for a wonderful experience! 11/10!
google avatar

Jill K.

Yelp
Get the salami, and the ribs! Don't forget the homemade applesauce and the yummy beans. And everyone is so friendly. But seriously, try the salami. I love it!
google avatar

Victoria V.

Yelp
Best ribs I've ever had! Would 100% come back. The beans, potato salad, and coleslaw were the best sides we tried. Plus, the staff was so nice and cheerful.
google avatar

Ken B.

Yelp
I actually think this is my favorite bbq on St Louis. I give it four stars only because the cost is so high. The thing that brings me back is the beans....never thought I would base a review on beans....but hands down the best beans I have ever had. A great spot and close to the Hill.

Renee R.

Yelp
The food is consistently delicious. Ribs are fall off the bone tender and the pulled pork and turkey are great.

Sallie E.

Yelp
Had never been there before, but found it online. I will definitely go back. Got 1/2 rack of ribs, 1/4 pound of burnt ends, pulled pork, potato salad (especially good), Cole slaw and apple sauce. All excellent.
google avatar

Jennica S.

Yelp
BEST BBQ place!! Driving through St Louis and happen to stumble upon this place. The selection of bbq joints is the area is overwhelming but let me make it easy for you and just come here. Dont waste your time searching. This place is a mom and pop joint/family owned business. The owners were very kind and welcoming. My husband and I shared half a smoked chicken and a full rack of ribs (we were starving lol). More than enough for the both of us! The meats were so juicy and full of flavor. They had bottles of sauces on the table and cranberry cayenne was my fav, although the meat alone without the sauces was still perfect. delicious!

Matt F.

Yelp
I don't think there are words I can say that would do this gem of an establishment justice. As someone from Southern California that visits St. Louis yearly, Adam's is the constant. We always come here. We're here as I write this! Adam's has the best ribs. Not in St. Louis, not in Missouri, but in the whole world Adam's has the best and friendliest service. Adam's is a family-owned business with a touching story behind it. Adam's is the best. I love Adam's, you love Adam's, we all love this miraculous place.
google avatar

Jessiree J.

Yelp
Great food, wonderful service, and off the beaten bath. They took the time to explain the menu and gave me suggestions. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely be back.

Cheryl G.

Yelp
I moved to St. Louis 2 years ago. I thought I had tried every BBQ place around here "once" until a cousin told me about you all. Adam's Smokehouse is the only place I have been more than once. In fact it was so good I went back again the same week, I love love love it!!

Darren H.

Yelp
Pappy's has been dethroned!! 6 BBQ meals this weekend and Adam's was the best by far. Home run! No comparison!! Ribs so flavorful you'll completely forget to even try the sauces. Pit beans best around.
google avatar

Julie A.

Yelp
Excellent pulled pork and brisket. But the coleslaw like...DAMN. It's what I remember about this place first.
google avatar

Susan H.

Yelp
Love, love, love! Just as delish as Pappy's, but faster and much easier. Get the burnt ends if they're available, but whatever you order will be excellent! No worries!
google avatar

Henry F.

Yelp
delicious barbecue sauces, very good vinegar slaw, really delicious homemade applesauce. we got there at 1 PM and the brisket and ribs were sold out. I got the half chicken and it was really good and tender.
google avatar

Leslie H.

Yelp
I think I'm in love. Hands down the best BBQ I've tried in a while. The smoked salami is made from their pork and brisket and is AMAZING! The smoked turkey has a great flavor, too, and the ribs? The apple butter added and torched after they smoked it is such a great addition! And for the sides, ya gotta try the pit beans which are smoked overnight on the pit. The meat is smoked with a dry rub, so sauces are on the table. Give the cranberry cayenne a try. For the atmosphere, it's a small place with St Louis sports memorabilia on the walls. (Go, Cards!) As far as the owner and staff: super helpful and helped by going through the menu and what's special about their recipes. Give them a try!
google avatar

Patti D.

Yelp
The food was excellent, fall off the bone ribs with awesome sauce, I recommend the sweet jane. Brisket had some nice black pepper on the sides. Beans had a little kick, nice pop of flavor. Given a few recommendations from the owner, quick service, had food out in 2 minutes. Hometown feel inside, small but mighty. Would definitely come back again.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
Thanks to social media, Adam's has been teasing me with their Brisket Burger. Every time, I'd be at work or out of town. Today, when I saw the announcement, it was lunchtime and I drove right over to get mine. The burger was thick and covered the entire bun. If you want cheese, you're given the choice of having it placed on top, or injected inside. I choose to have mine injected. It was so cool, when I took my first bite cheese oozed out. There was so much cheese. When it came to choosing my bbq sauce, I opted for no bbq sauce. I wanted to taste the true flavors of the smoked brisket in the burger. Yum. When I got home, I did add a nice slice of onion and a few hot pickles to compliment the big burger. The brisket burger special came with two sides. I choose my two favorites at Adam's, their Pit Beans and Cole Slaw. The Pit Beans were a perfect pairing for a smoked burger. Don't get me wrong, the cole slaw was good to, but the pit beans were just better. The staff is great here. They make me feel like Norm on, Cheers. They know my name, always use it when speaking to me and thank me for coming in each time I visit. I'll be back? - Yes. They make my favorite ribs. When: May 30,2019 Why: My first Brisket Burger

Yelp
I would give Adam's Smokehouse 6 stars if I could . This place is great all-around. The staff is welcoming, friendly and clearly has a passion for their food . Between my husband and I, we had 3 types of meat and all were to die for. Especially the ribs!! Fall of the bone deliciousness . The sides all looked worthy, but we went with our two favs (cole slaw, mac & cheese) and they did not disappoint! We will certainly be back to try more of this amazing menu!

Yelp
There is a reason I prefer local owned restaurants to chain restaurants and the biggest reason is the service. After I placed my order online, realized I ordered the wrong side. A simple phone call and the problem was fixed. It did not seem to faze them to make the switch. Imagine trying to contact a chain to make a small change to an order. it would be impossible! Bravo to our small, local restaurants! When you go to this restaurant, DINE IN!! It's just a cute little dining area. Very charming. Best of all...it smelled better than any restaurant I've ever walked into in my life. I nearly fell to my knees in awe. I don't know if this is an all the time smell or if I just got lucky. When we eat, they say we eat with all of our senses. My sense of smell was very onboard! I had the 1/2 rack of ribs, cole slaw and baked beans. I'm very happy to report they allow you to order a 1/2 rack instead of a full rack! For this reason alone I will go back time and time again. I do NOT need a full rack of ribs! Of course, I enjoyed all the food. The ribs fell off the bone, perfectly seasoned. Delicious! The cole slaw is a stand out for me. It's an oil and vinegar cole slaw. It's slightly sweet. I'm not sure what the little specks of seasoning are but perhaps that's the secret ingredient. Hands down my favorite cole slaw in the St Louis area. I will definitely go back to this great barbecue restaurant! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Don V.

Yelp
Best ribs in STL. Very good sides and very welcoming. Bbq sauces on point as well, but the ribs don't need them because they're so delicious.

Georgia S.

Yelp
Picked up a takeout order for a small party. Everything (pulled pork, brisket and potato salad) was wonderful. It was packaged nicely and came with plenty of barbecue sauce. Someone even helped me with the door when I left. I will definitely be coming back.

Mindy D.

Yelp
You will not be disappointed! We stopped in on a Saturday for lunch. The owner, Mike, and his wife were working. We had ribs and brisket with applesauce and pasta salad for sides! The ribs come uncut, so that added some leg work but they were worth it! And the pasta salad was awesome! Overall, awesome meal! We can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is great! Service and staff friendly. The inside is fixed up cute and rustic. Definitely recommend

Yelp
Adam's knows how to do 'que and sides. Smoked salami sandwich would have to be the signature item. Just smoked salami, which if you like salami is high quality excellent, some vinegar based bbq sauce and some cranberry-cayenne bbq sauce on bread - and you have a simple yet highly satisfying sandwich. Half slab of ribs had a nice light char on the thick, sweetish sauce. Meat was well smoked, very very tender, but still with some pull to get the last bit off the bone. Good job. Sides were notable. I don't think the beans are pit beans. At least they aren't advertised that way, and didn't seem to have the flavor and spice of pit drippings. But they were hearty and rich, with a generous mix in of meat bits. Slaw was pretty standard - a mayo base, but light enough on the sauce that it was fairly solid and not runny. Pasta salad was standard too - it serves like the slaw as a counterweight to the meat spice, but I'd have liked a bit more spices in the pasta mix itself. However that's easily rectified with a small shot of bbq sauce.

Matt D.

Yelp
This place is worth the drive, wherever you are in STL. We were fortunate enough to enjoy the Rib tips, as they hadn't sold out yet. Also had a half rack of ribs, perfectly done and the flavor was phenomenal. Will visit again if we ever come back to town. Get there early, they run out of product quickly. The Brisket and Salami had sold out by noon. Every bit worth it

Sarah R.

Yelp
Sooo good!! The ribs were amazing!! But so was everything what I had (brisket and pit beans). We'll be going back!

Francis A.

Yelp
We kind of stumbled upon this place by accident. But so glad we did! Small hole in the wall place (that's a compliment because all of the best places I've eaten at are holes in the wall) Fantastic service. Was greeted at the door and had the menu and items explained. We ordered what we came for - ribs and brisket and added the recommended smoked salami, which did not disappoint! Ribs were fantastic. Served without sauce (the way they should be) because why would you want to cover up excellent smokey ribs with sauce? Same with the brisket. But for those that do like sauce, there are three different types on the table. A traditional red bbq sauce which was good, a vinegar, which none of us cared for, and another sauce that was more of a berry hot sauce which was an excellent compliment to the smoked salami. To top it off, the grill beans were exceptional! I crave them to this day! Next time we're in st Louis, it will be one of our first stops!
google avatar

Amy R.

Yelp
My SO and I have been to Adam's a couple of times...completely satisfied every time! We've tried the ribs, the salami, the tri-tip, and the pulled pork - YUM! The meats were smoked to perfection and the sauces are fantastic! Cranberry Cayenne is our favorite...good thing we can buy a bottle to enjoy at home! The sides are all complementary to the meats...their coleslaw is pretty great and the beans are on the sweet side, but they are really good if you like them sweet! Last time I went for the applesauce for a change of pace and was pleasantly surprised by that extra little sprinkle of cinnamon on top! We are looking forward to our next visit - either lunch there or dinner to go (5 minutes from the office!)
