Had a great time at Adamus Lounge—perfect spot to kick back after a long day. The vibe is chill, but still classy. I ordered the Truffle Fries and Crispy Brussels Sprouts to snack on, and they did not disappoint—those fries are next level. The Old Fashioned was on point, too; they really know how to mix a drink here. My buddy and I spent about $75 between drinks and appetizers, and it was well worth it for the vibe and the quality of food. If you’re in the area and looking for a cozy yet stylish spot, Adamus is where it’s at.

Manuel is an amazing bartender! He whipped up some fantastic cocktails and conversation. He truly made the visit.

Slick little bar in the lobby area of the Silversmith Hotel. Make a mean Manhattan and gin & tonic. Circular bar looks impressive and is well stocked. Our bartender certainly knew what she was doing. Comfortable and eclectic mix of furniture around the bar. Enjoyed a few drinks here and would stop in again.

This was a nice location for our small group of people to celebrate a friend's birthday. Happy Hour is Monday - Friday from 5-8pm. The happy hour drink and appetizer menu items are reasonably priced ($6-$12). It has a really elegant modern style with a dimly lit atmosphere which would be good for dates. I was not pleased with the lack of service when my group initially entered, but the service became better as the night progressed.

Good hotel lounge. Good drink menu but limited food. The flatbread pizza is good.

Nice bar in historic landmark hotel. Happy hour specials.

This is probably one of the loop's best kept secrets. This posh lounge is visible from the street, but you have to enter it to truly understand how large it is. I recently came here for an afterwork happy hour and while the place is massive it was pretty empty meaning I and the group I was with had run of the place. The place is very stylish and the servers are friendly. It's sometimes hard to get the bartender's attention, but the drinks are decently priced and there is happy hour specials to take advantage of. It's a great place to just sit at the bar or bring a large group as it has a number of enclaves for groups to get together.

Warning: the online menu has different prices, do not refer to the website look at the menu in person. My husband and I always love coming here. And I loooove the bartender. She is always so nice, sweet, and attentive to her patrons. The space is also fantastic. I love the couches, they are a great place to hang out with a group of friends. I love the wings!!! It's my go to spot for wings downtown. Like genuinely they are soooo good.

Yelp
I came here for the networking event after a discussion put on by the Chicago International Film Fest and the Chicago Film Office at the Cultural Center. It was a frigid 2 block walk from there, but inside was nice and warm. We sat in the bar in the lobby and placed orders from the friendly and capable bartender. She (I didn't get her name) made sure menus were available, and I saw that the Happy Hour menu went until 7:30! That was a nice touch, some places end Happy Hour at 5:30 or 6. I only got drinks, no food. The chatting was fine, and I liked the seats at the long table, as well as the cushions in the tucked away areas. There were TVs around but they were quiet, maybe because we had a social event. The Ladies' room was nicely modern and clean as well. I do not work downtown anymore but I'd stop here before a movie or play during Happy Hour for drinks/appetizers, or to unwind and catch up with a friend.

Yelp
Adamus is a hotel restaurant & lounge! Full bar service available and there is a happy hour mon-fri from 4:30-7:30pm. It was a nice quiet place to literally lounge on couch chairs with low tables. Great for convos during hh! Other seating options are available. Ordered burger and fries--the fries were cut like the McD fries but were crispier--really enjoyed! I learned well drinks are now called rail cocktails?! They were $10 during hh (prices are $2 more than what their website says but is accurate on their physical menus when you're there). We loved our server! He was very friendly and funny.

Yelp
love this place and it is always a treat to have a drink up here on a clear day after a long day. The ambiance and view are amazing. It is a roaring 66 floors high in Willis Tower and top notch service. It is breathtaking to enjoy a few sips and look down upon the city. It's a real treat if you get the chance to have a sip and a view.

Yelp
The bar was serving food but not the restaurant. The burnt tips were good, the steak was half grizzle. One of the bartenders was spending more time on his phone and had an attitude that we were a bother. Even when we asked for a dinner menu. The other bartender Renee was very attentive and took better care of us. We were not high maintenance. We just wanted our bill and he ignored us. Never checked back to see if we needed anything. We went back once more for drinks since we were staying in the hotel. The bartender that night Manuel was so friendly and took good care of us and all the others in the bar even though it was 10 minutes to close.

Yelp
The food was awful, the nachos were something a movie theater would serve but worse. The roasted cumin beet salad had no cumin flavor and was simply a poor salad, way overpriced. Service was nice. Food terrible

Willie R.

Yelp
I came here for breakfast each day while staying in the hotel at a conference. Here's the long and short of it: -Quick service, for the most part -The Classic with chicken sausage and whole wheat toast was a great start to my day! The chicken sausage was very tasty. -They bring out a whoooole spread of jams and butter to go with your toast. It was almost overwhelming...in a good way, haha. -If you order tea, it's bagged but actually reasonably nice. Every once in a while you come upon a hotel restaurant that uses the worst bagged tea available, so I appreciated that this wasn't the case at Adamus. Solid spot!

Yelp
We stopped by for a work happy hour but I ended up asking for information to host a private party. This lounge is gorgeous, has plenty of space to mingle and enjoy, and Manuel behind the bar can teach a mixing class to the pros. Ask him to surprise you. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Decided to come here with my two good co-worker friends on 1/24/19 to try their Happy Hour before going to see "Kinky Boots". They are located in the Silversmith hotel. I looked up their menu in advance and it looked good so wanted to see how it was going to be. This is such a beautiful space! Wall Lighting was SWAG! Cozy chairs and couches and a funky vibe. We ordered many of the happy hour drinks and food that included flatbread, sliders and donut holes with cinnamon sprinkles. The shrimp pictured was pure happiness. Colossal sized with a yummy asian sauce. I could of had 5 orders of just that, LOL! The fried pickles were actually sweet, not dill, sliced which I'm not used to. Usually, with fried pickles I've had are whole pickles that are dill. This was an unique twist and I couldn't stop eating them! Comes with two different sauces. I loved being here. After a stressful work/school day, it's wonderful to come here and unwind. It's not your typical loud bar. Fancy and chill. I can't wait to come back here. Wondering if they have outdoor seating during the warm months. Try them out, you won't be disappointed. Cheers!

Yelp
This is the restaurant inside of our beautiful hotel Silversmith. We were seated immediately in a booth with our own personal TV. Our waitress immediately and took our drink order which for my wife and I was coffee this morning. She provided us with a menu which had limited items, which to me is great means they do a few things really good. My wife selected the continental breakfast which consisted of wscrambled eggs, iron skillet seared potatoes, sausage links with toast. I got the Denver Omelet eggs, ham, peppers, onions with cheese it also comes with the pan seared potatoes. The food was delicious. The iron pan seared potatoes were as we make them in Kentucky. Our breakfast ended with our waitress providing us with our to go cup of coffee with a smile. I would recommend you try this restaurant especially if you are staying in the Silversmith Hotel Chicago Downtown. Our coffee was endless as our waitress worked hard to please us.

Yelp
This bar has improved drastically over the last few years. In its Ada days, it deserved 1 star on a good day. After the recent renovation, it changed from a dive full of annoying regulars to a fairly glitzy bar with nice seating and a central bar. Even after that, service was initially weak. But that has recently changed and it is now possible to sit at the bar, actually get good service and have $4 beers during happy hour (5:00-8:00). This is exactly what we did after work. In addition to beer, we had flat bread and sliders. Both were appropriately good for a hotel bar. Surprisingly, and unlike most other hotels and bars, the flat bread was not burned to a crisp. Previously I accidentally reviewed the hotel, where I have not stayed. So I deleted that review and moved here. Also, I just went here again with the wife's colleagues and the service was exceptional. I will be back

Yelp
Adamus has a very reaonsably-priced happy hour, so my friends have come here twice to enjoy it. The happy hour differs from the online version of the menu, and includes $9 appetizers, $7 rail cocktails, $6 wines, and $5 beers. FOOD: The margherita flatbread is pretty good, although It was a teensy bit doughier than I like my flatbreads. I wouldn't call it artisanal is presentation, but it certainly gets the job done. The chicken sliders do not feature chicken patties as most chicken sliders do. These are rather thin cuts of (what I assume is) chicken breast that are not breaded. Also the cuts aren't particularly well seasoned, but the bacon helps to counteract that. The food here is what you might expect of bar food. It's good, but not great. DRINKS: The drinks here are straightforward-- I've only ever has the wines, rails, and beers that are on special, so I cannot speak for the cocktails. SERVICE: Service here is slow if you sit at a table or any of the lounge chairs that are not at the bar. It got to a point where I was just ordering two wines at a time, because trying to wait our server out was proving difficult. Eventually, we just started leaving the table to order our drinks and food. It was kind of uncalled for because there weren't enough people sitting around the bar to justify the wait time. But, I didn't mind walking over so I'm not really complaining, just informing. ATMOSPHERE: Its a beautiful lobby in a great location. The decor is nice. Its dimly lit, with average volume, so its a good place for a date or a girl's night. Honestly, I was a little disappointed about the discrepancies between the online and in-location menus. I think that should be updated online. But all in all, the drinks are reasonably priced for a hotel lobby bar in the loop. And the happy hour lasts from 5pm-8pm, which I also appreciate. So we'll probably be back, and I'm going to try some of the other menu items for diversity.

Yelp
I have been here twice for work happy hours. The last time, we went out on a Wednesday. Apparently we were unsuccessful at getting drink service at our table, so 3 of us approached the bar. It feels like we were waiting forever to order our drinks. There were at least 3 people behind the bar and all seemed frazzled. I'm not sure if they were having issues with their credit card machine, but even if so, the bartenders could have acknowledged us much sooner or started to make our drinks while one person sorted out the system issues. Their appetizers are very good. I've had their fried pickles, sliders, and wings and enjoyed all of them. Also I like the seating arrangements. There's a big long table for big groups as well as small cubby areas with couches. They have good happy hour deals but I do wish they had some more fun and fruity cocktails on their drink menu.

Yelp
This is a really cool spot in Wabash for happy hours. If you are staying in silversmith this place is pretty easily accessible. This is located right next to or in the Same line as Naf Naf and flat top. This place is fancy and pretty cool. They have happy hours specials running every Monday-Friday. It's a good spot to check out during that time if you are not planning to play the full price on drinks and appetizers. They have pretty good options for appetizers/sides during the happy hours. Beers come around $6 and cocktails something close to $8 during happy hours. They have music going on, staff is pretty cool and they greet you well during your stay there. Overall my experience I pretty good, I would rather go here than pay more on regular prices on for drinks on a weekday.

George P.

Yelp
All around great happy hour spot! The atmosphere is always lively, the service is hood(considering this place is jammed pack on a Friday night). The best pet is their happy hour is until 8:00pm!!

Yelp
During a recent business trip, I had pleasant stay in The Silversmith Hotel. And, because it was rather cold outside, I had several meals in the Adamus which was located inside the hotel. The restaurant is a lovely place for a happy hour with a great selection of cocktails, however it can be pretty noisy for a sit-down dinner. The food is quite tasty. I was a fan of their house Caesar and their chicken risotto dish. The service however is quite slow, and focused more so on the bar and happy hour crowd. Many of the servers seemed aloof and were not attentive to the needs of the patrons in the dining area. I brought my concern to the manager Stephanie, and she was extremely gracious and accommodating. Because of Stephanie and the chef, I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Yelp
I went here today for a small group outing because it's located right next to the El. We tried making reservations for 8 prior to making it out but we were told they were not needed. We were able to find seating in the area with bar, but it seemed like they were either new or overwhelmed. And I only say this, based on a comment one of the bartenders made. She stated after receiving a drink order, "I'm sorry, I only work breakfast so I'm not sure how to do that." Or based on the fact that it took three people to run a card and print out a receipt. For a bar located inside a hotel in the loop, it's not a good look. I noticed that there were no bar backs so the bartenders had to do all the work themselves. Because of their flawed system, the bartenders were not able to make drinks quickly, which made the bar to be more packed, and the average wait for a drink was about 15 minutes. My group ended up grabbing 2-3 drinks at a time so we wouldn't have to wait. This also could have been solved if there was a waitstaff taking drink orders for groups, but whatever. Now where things really went south for my group was when the staff tried cleaning up the used glasses people left. Now, typically if there's food or drinks in front of you, you're a asked, "Are you done with that? May I take this?" Instead, there were two very full glasses of wine on our table, and without a word they were both taken along with the empty glasses. Someone just reached into our area and took them. Luckily, they were placed on the bar and we were able to grab them back, but I feel like it's common courtesy not to take someone's full drink. Again, not sure if this place hired new staff, if everyone was having a bad day or what was happening today. I've heard it's typically not like this, but my experience was very underwhelming and the only reason I gave them two stars is because I was eventually served and it was the correct drink.

Mihir S.

Yelp
One of the BEST Happy Hours in the city. Hours are 5pm to 8pm which I think is more ideal than other happy hours that end at 6 or 7pm. Lots of selections too! See the menu photo I posted.

Kishma H.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem after work looking for a place to have a glass of wine!! The atmosphere is beyond amazing, service was excellent. Renee was absolutely and had great customer service.. I'll definitely be back

Stephanie S.

Yelp
The most horrifying thing. Be warned. I live and work in the loop, and am very familiar with how Chicago restaurants/hotels handle food and beverage. I came to Adamus after work to read and have a glass of wine. I drank a glass of their "house" Cabernet that's offered as part of their happy hour special. The $6 glass tasted as though it came from a $3 bottle. I knew to expect it wouldn't be high caliber, but there are certainly cheap bottles out there that you could offer. Strike one. Next, I ordered a glass of Cabernet from their regular menu, as I'd prefer to actually enjoy what I drink. Wouldn't you know it; as I finished the glass and looked down into the bottom, there were SEVEN FRUIT FLIES LOOKING UP AT ME. The poor bartender....though he agreed that yes, that was gross, couldn't have been less equipped to deal with that. The absolute grossest thing ever. Note: I've been to Adamus once before, for a business lunch. I had a salad, and looked at all the lunches around me, and mentally noted I'd never return for the food. The absolutely most bland, thoughtlessly prepared food I've ever had. Adamus, you will not survive in this area. Good thing your lobby/bar area is pretty. You might get away with tricking tourists for now, but watch. You're certainly not winning any awards (or even come close to competing with your peers). You need to get someone in there who has experience in the bar/restaurant scene. You come off as complete beginners with little care for quality. Cheap must mean a LOT more to you than good.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Don't think I will be coming back, the place was pretty empty for after work drinks. Service was lackluster. We were never offered water, at one point I went and grabbed waters from their water station for hotel guests.

Hally K.

Yelp
Stopped into Adamus while in Chicago for work. I wanted to find a place for a drink and bite before I was seeing a show. There was a happy hour sign outside so I looked at the menu and it was exactly what I was looking for. It was pretty busy around 5:30-6pm and it took a while to get the bartenders attention. Ordered the chicken sliders and they were awesome. The chicken was tender with a lot of flavor. Had their house Chardonnay which wasn't the best but it was house and HH. It was quick and exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend for a layback place with HH food and beverages.

Tashia A.

Yelp
On the 15th day of January in the year 2020 I met a friend at the bar after work and ordered a just average Cobb Salad but asked them to hold the chicken and bacon. I was still charged $16 for the full price of the salad simply because their "system is old and doesn't allow price editing". The end.

Grant A.

Yelp
Plush and classy decor. The color scheme gives off a royalty feel. Was there during Happy Hour got a milk stout for 6 bucks which doesn't seem like much of a happy hour deal but bygones. Some women to the right of me caterwauling about some coworker they find disagreeable. There were tables and seats pretty deep back. Will certainly be back to try the food. My bartender was cute and asked if I needed anything else periodically. Any thing could happen at a Hotel bar.

Ivonne R.

Yelp
Decently good food, but I thought it was overvalued when I went for lunch and had a good Cesar salad but with too much pepper and a fishy fish & chips--good fries. The place has divided eating booths and LOOKS great. The servers are NICE, but $9 for mineral water is too much. Maybe I'll order something recommended if I go again.

Erica A.

Yelp
I have enjoyed happy hour on Fridays here several times. The selections are good, service is decent, the food is good, the steak wrap is very tasty and the mini empanadas are the best although a little pricey. Glass of wine for $5 plus tax or a glass of bourbon with my favorite ginger ale for $6.69 (with tax) can't beat it. It's never crowded so you don't necessarily have to yell to be heard. It's a great place to enjoy a drink and appetizers or a small meal with friends or alone.

Vicky R.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for happy hour on a Friday afternoon and it was awesome! We got there a little early so I had the Aviation to start with. MAN OH MAN. The drink was stronger than Schwarzenegger, but really tasty! When the clock struck 5, I switched over to wine and we ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer. The sauce they served with those pickles was fire. The pickles themselves were cut in perfectly thin circles but surprisingly were not too oily or soggy, they were great! The best part of this place though was the atmosphere. The awesome couches and hip seating area really creates an awesome vibe for a relaxing time after work.

Amanda K.

Yelp
We sought this place out for the happy hour until 8p and we weren't disappointed! I'm surprised there weren't more customers enjoying the great drink prices and hip atmosphere. The ambience was warm and inviting with ornate chandeliers, sexy lighting and deep, inviting upholstered booths. Two thumbs up for Adamus! We will be sure to stop back when we return to Chicago.

Stephanie M.

Yelp
The lounge is beautiful, and would be a great spot to hang out with friends or for date night. However, the service here was less than impressive that I cannot bring myself to give more than 3 stars. I met with my friends for Happy Hour for a few drinks and food. Adamus has a great Happy Hour every weekday from 5pm to 8pm with $5 beverages. For Chicago, you cannot beat those prices. We ordered the Artichoke flatbread which was excellent (fresh arugula, artichoke, tomato drizzled with balsamic). The pickle chips are true chips too! Thinly cut pickles deep fried in bread crumbs. The server was "new" and didn't know what a Stoli Vodka was. He also didn't ask me what I would like to drink when I had arrived. My group had already been at the lounge and had their drinks before I got there. In my experience, when a new arrival comes you acknowledge the arrival when you come back to the table. I've been a server in my years in the hospitality industry and this to me was unacceptable. He dropped off the food and just left. I walked up to the bar to order my own drink. When I had came back, the server was no where to be seen. We had no utensils, dishware, or napkins for the food that was just placed. We had finished the food without the necessary dining accessories and washed our hands with the Wet Ones I had in my purse. He came back maybe 30 minutes later. All our drinks were empty at this point. Some of us went to the bar and ordered our own drinks and asked for double whatever we had so that we can have a beverage. Those who ordered their round didn't see the drink for another 15 minutes. He ended up forgetting my Pinot Noir so I waited for another 30 minutes. A new wave of our friends came in (total of 3 more) and they too didn't see tier drink order. Finally, we had enough and told the manager that we haven't had service and our drinks need replenishing. After that moment, he was more "visible." Never once did he smile, greet, or do anything that made us feel welcomed at this lounge. The manager was very kind and I cannot say the whole staff there was like this gentleman. I have understanding to a certain degree when you are "new" to your role but when I can clearly see that you are not trying all my empathy is gone. If you do go, sit by the bar. At least you know there will be service.

Bianca M.

Yelp
Great ambiance ! I recommend coming to adamus for their weekly happy hour 5pm-8pm, where you can get moderately priced drinks and appetizers. It is also pretty low-key for the downtown area. The only critique i have is their lack of service when it is a "slow day"- my party waited 15-20mins before realizing they do not provide waiters/waitresses when there are not a lot of people there. No one informed us we needed to order at the bar...

Heidi C.

Yelp
Adamus is a great place to go after work to unwind. Great and friendly service from Raymond the bartender, clean, good happy hour specials, good food and drinks for decent prices for the loop.

Yvonne B.

Yelp
This is a cool, trendy, lounge-like restaurant. Well, it might be a lounge first and then a restaurant because the atmosphere was more for drinking, mingling and chilling than eating. I was not at all acknowledged when I first arrived. There was no host stand. M arrived from a different entrance and had the same experience. We found one another and then walked around the bar and introduced ourselves to the bar tender. We were seated along the wall away from the bar for dinner. This location was perfect for us. We could easily see the vibrant social scene around the bar but also enjoy a quiet dinner. Our server was AMAZING. I was in a grouchy mood and she did a great job of turning my frown upside down! She was smiles and on-point with everything. KUDOS! We also liked that the chef brought us one of our dishes. Speaking of the chef, he makes a trio of dips/spreads to go along with the complimentary bread basket! We were particularly impressed by the tampenade. Everything else was just okay. The burger (which was listed in the menu as medium) was served well-done and kind of dry. We spread some of the chef's delicious aoli on it to help moisten it. The broiled oysters tasted like cheese (I love cheese, but it would have been nice if I tasted other flavors also). The fried pickles were good and the dipping sauces were better. I got the Aviator cocktail twice. I liked it. M got three $3 beers. The beers were served in tall glasses. They were definitely a great price! We liked Adamus. It was okay. The thing is - we could tell that they were trying. The server was amazing. The chef was nice and eager to please. But it's weird that there was nobody to greet us and the burger really flopped. We can make good burgers at home.

Yelp
This place is absolutely swanky and gorgeous. The lounge areas are beautifully draped in curtains and the lighting is just right. I however really wasn't feeling the crowd there. I was expecting an afterwork happy hour type crowd on a Friday at 5:30, but the only way I could describe it was very very stuffy. Besides that our bartender was sweet. We were just there for drinks and those little a$$ cocktails were $15. I went with the milk punch. Not too sweet, which is fine, but it tasted way too milky. Not really feeling the vibe enough to make a second visit, but it is a cute spot.

Valerie F.

Yelp
Everytime I come here I get great service. The staff is super friendly even when they're swamped. You can tell Raymond, the bar back/ bartender, really cares about giving the guests great service. When I'm not sure what I want he always has a suggestion that I wound up really enjoying!

Ryan S.

Yelp
Awesome joint. Stop in and have a mean properly made Manhattan by Kerry and the. Have some oysters and lobster croquettes. From Nicole

Emily G.

Yelp
Ehhhh, almost but not quite, adamus. This place really has potential though. The decor and the ambiance of the lounge is awesome. You feel kind of fancy walking in and sitting in a little cabana-like structure with some music videos playing on TV screens through our the bar area. The food was decent and actually a good spot for vegetarians. Between four girls we split the fried pickles, Hummus, bagel chips, flat bread and avocado Ruben. The chef even brought a few of the orders out and introduced himself. Super nice guy and polite. However, the service was not so great. Maybe it was just the girl we got that night, but the restaurant was not crowded (it was only our group and one other table), and we ended up waiting about 20 minutes for cocktails and an hour for food (which was mostly appetizers). We might have liked a second cocktail, but after giving us the first round and taking our order, she was never to be seen again until she brought out the food, and even then she didn't ask if we needed anything else or offer to bring us more water. When we hunted her down to get the check she kind of looked around confused as if she didn't work there and said "uhhhhh ok". Odd, but whatever I guess.. Check it out if you're in the area, and I'd recommend sitting at the bar, not a table. Nothing to go out of your way for.

Hannah C.

Yelp
Brought a large group here for a happy hour. The venue itself is quite pretty and they have some lovely large group couch seating. However, they were short staffed on our visit. It took me more than 5 minutes to get the attention of a staff person to tell them we had arrived for our reservation! The waitress then admitted it would be difficult for her to make it over to our table, so it would be best if we ordered everything at the bar. (She actually did wind up making it to our table a couple times, she was a champ.) The happy hour options for beer are quite good, okay for wine, and pretty bad for cocktail-drinkers. Appetizers are a bit pricey for happy hour. We also didn't get itemized receipts with our cards, so many people didn't realize gratuity had already been added and double-tipped. Fine for a last minute large group outing, not worth making a special trip.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
This is a nice bar with so much potential to become a great local lounge not only for visitors/tourist but for locals who live not far from there. The esthetics are absolutely beautiful and very trendy, the music is low but fun selection potential to create a fun atmosphere and the drinks are on point. Look forward to this place becoming AMAZING!

Yelp
Service at this restaurant left a lot to be desired. We waited 10 minutes to be seated, even though the restaurant was nearly empty (there were three patrons in the whole restaurant). Basic requests, like a glass of water, took more than 10 minutes. In fact, we didn't get any water at our table until after our food arrived. The menu was appealing, but both of our orders came out incorrectly, and at different times. Some side items were never delivered at all. After eating, or not eating in my case (scrambled eggs were barely cooked), it took another 10 minutes to get a waiters attention and ask for our check. I am normally very patient with restaurant service, but this was so disappointing. If you stay at the Silversmith, I would not recommend eating here. Save your money and eat anywhere else. There are many good options in the hotel's vicinity.

Yelp
We stopped in after dinner for drinks because we saw this place featured on Blackboard Eats. There was a wedding reception hanging out in the bar so it was a little crazy. We were planning on dessert but our meter was running out of time so we just tried a cocktail. I had a ginger whiskey drink that was nice. My boyfriend got a maple whiskey which was super sweet and heavy on the syrup. The drinks took a little long to make but that was because it was crazy busy. That being said, we would have liked some water with our drinks. Maybe a cocktail napkin or two. I might pop in here for a drink if I'm in the neighborhood but I don't think I'll be back to try their desserts.

Yelp
I went for a Happy hour for the first time, the bar is beautiful and it's a great spot to hang out with friends. However the service at Adamus is less than impressive. There were 3 bartenders and I was still waiting like more than 15min just to make an order. Seems to me like they are more into talking rather than giving great service to the customer and making them feel welcomed. It's annoying when you go somewhere and you are willing to spend your money but the employees care more about what's on the tv instead of being attentive.

Yelp
Interesting decor and decent fried pickles. Not a huge space but good seating for a group.

Yelp
They have great happy hour specials. $5 wine, $4 beer, $8 flatbread, which is a large portion. Service was slow. We had to go up to the bar to place drink and food orders. No one cleared off the table we were sitting at. When we went to get another glass of wine, they ran out of wine glasses, and we had to wait. Then everyone was given different glasses (sizes and styles). It wasn't crowded and there's was plenty of room to sit in the large couches with our group of 11. It wasn't busy, which was nice. Atmosphere was great, service just lacked.

Yelp
I was with a group that stayed through happy hour. The bar service was glacially slow, even when only 2 or 3 people were ordering a drink. The horrible Moscow Mule I ordered was served in a lowball glass, made with ginger powder, soda water, a lime slice, and MAYBE vodka (and was the most expensive I've ever bought). I should have sent it back. I switched to a different bartender, and to beer. Hard to mess that up, right? They could not pour a canned beer without foaming it over. I ordered a second, but different beer, and they opened up the wrong beer. And foamed it over again. But since it was open already, I went with it. Lame.

Yelp
Incongruously swanky cocktail lounge and restaurant, planted in the middle of the usually junky-looking Wabash avenue. They have great happy hour deals, but we went for the regular drinks menu and a charcuterie board, which was outstanding. Pork belly--say no more. The place seems a little understaffed and under-energized, particularly for a Friday, after work. Despite minor shortcomings, recommended for harried Loopers wanting to unwind in an elegant setting.

Yelp
Horrible service. Waited for a drink for over 30mins and was passed by multiple times!!!!!! Rude!!!!! Never coming back!!!!

Yelp
Ambiance is good but their drink menu is very limited and unimaginative. Also limited table service. Stopped in for a drink but didn't end up ordering because of the above.

Yelp
I went there on thurs Oct 30th for a work dinner, party of eight. The Good - Nice decor, friendly bartender, mixed drinks were solid. The food is delicious. You must have the fried pickles - unbelievably good. The Bad - they are not really a restaurant. They have a menu that makes it look they are a restaurant, but they are not. They are in fact a bunch of amateurs surrounding a really good chef. Nobody really knew how to seat us, or how to handle the reservation we'd made, which is odd because the restaurant area was quite empty. The Ugly - I'm fairly confident the gave the bus boy a field promotion to waiter the evening we were there. He was also the only waiter for the four tables that were seated. Me: Can you tell us about the menu? Him: "Well, what would you like to know?" Me: Well, what about this table plate section? Him: "Those are sandwiches." Alright, fine. So we order a bottle of champagne and a bottle of wine. The waiter pops the cork on the champagne bottle somewhere in a back room, odd. He then brings an ice bucket, puts the already opened champagne in the bucket, and goes to find the wine. No taste, no pour, we were on our own. Returns with the wine, pops the cork, and hands me the bottle. Okay, I guess we'll taste and pour for ourselves. The rest of the service was similarly amateurish, and not particularly friendly. Would go back for a cocktail, not for dinner.

Yelp
I went for happy hour on a Friday, as I have done many times, because Adamus has a great happy hour. I sat in one of their tables in the bar area and when the bartender came over she asked me for my credit card to keep the tab open. The place was almost empty and bar had at most ten people in it. I was with a friend and we ordered a few drinks and some appetizers. I went up to the bar and asked to close out my tab, which is when the problem arose - the bartender literally charged my credit card to someone else's bill and then gave that customer my credit card. I spent over half an hour on the phone with my credit card company cancelling my card. The staff wasn't overly helpful and was asked for my name and number and was told a manager would call me the next day. They called three days later and still no real apology even when I explained that they credit card they gave away is my frequent fliers card that I use it for everything so I had to spend another hour updated seven different accounts connected with it. This is an hour and a half of my time that no one at Adamus seemed to care about. If you go, which I will not in the future, don't let the bartenders hold onto your credit card for a tab.
