Adda, The Hangout Review - Arts District - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Adda, The Hangout is an Indian pop-up operating out of the Crafted Kitchen space in the Arts District. They only cook once or twice a month, and the menu changes often, but just know that no matter what, you’re going to be eating fantastic, homestyle Indian food. Standouts from past meal drops include kadai chicken (cooked in tangy gravy with onions and bell peppers) and gobi matar, cauliflower and peas cooked together with turmeric, cumin, and other spices. But perhaps the best part about Adda, The Hangout is the cause that they support. A portion of all proceeds go to the LA Food Bank kids’ meals program, making a big meal here a no-brainer. Give them a follow on Instagram for all the latest ordering details." - Brant Cox

Some of the hits are weekend specials only. Also, you won't get these anywhere else ! The ilish polao is fantastic, but available only on Saturdays. Fortunately, the moghlai porota/paratha is available everyday (under appetizers menu, but it WILL fill you up !). The bharta plate is a must-try. The dhakai kachhi biryani - available on Sunday only - seemed to be a bit of a miss. This is authentic bangladeshi/bengali cuisine, and they sometimes showcase food beyond their menus on dedicated 'food festival' weekends - keep an eye out!

I had the Iftar buffet here today, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was fresh, flavorful, and had an authentic Bangladeshi taste. From the delicious tehari to the perfectly spiced haleem everything was spot on. The variety was impressive, especially the jelapi was a perfect way to end the meal. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the staff was attentive and friendly. It truly felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Bangladeshi cuisine! Will definitely be coming back.

The ambience is awesome with all the lights and music. The food was very tasty, especially the Korai goshto and mughlai paratha. The service was impeccable as well, we didn't have to wait too much for the food and the waitresses regularly checked in to ensure our experience was good. Overall a great place to dine in and experience Bangali cuisine at a reasonable price!

I had an amazing experience at this Bangladeshi fine dining restaurant! The food was authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented — every dish reminded me of true Bangladeshi home cooking with an elegant touch. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for both family gatherings and special occasions. The staff were attentive, polite, and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Bangladeshi cuisine in a refined setting !!! Highly recommended

Amazing restaurant!! Yummy food. I highly recommend. I recently tried this place and now it is one of my new favorite restaurants!! The food is made and seasoned perfectly everything tasted so good. And the mango lassi is delicious. Probably the best curry I’ve ever had! I tried the lamb and the chicken they are both delicious with spice it has a little heat and the mango lassi balances it out it goes together so well. The vegetable shingara (veg samosas) are so good, I also tried the beef liver samosas and that was good too lots of liver. The outside of the samosas were crispy and seasoned well. All the breads are great. Try this place out!!

One of the best Bangladeshi restaurants I have ever visited. The food was great and so was the hospitality. The host was awesome, he took care of everything we needed. We were a big group so it was not easy. Food came in on time. We did not get to enjoy the music as it was lunch time but I am sure that will be great too.

After hearing good reviews of this restaurant,Me and my family went there to try out their food from Chicago! Omg!! the taste of the food is soooo soooo soooo good that we ate a lot that even hurt our tummy 🤣 First we tried their fuchka as an appetizer 😮😮 The taste is exactly the same like bangladeshi fuchka trust me 😁 So tasty. then we tried Kala bhuna 😵😵 we ate the last drop of gravy it was that tasty 😵😵 Then we dared to order morog polao just to try out!! It met my Puran Dhaka Morog polao lust trust me‼️ Also the Borhani was very tasty. Just to add the behavior of their stuff is really good. They served food very quick. Specially the girl Moly is very polite and hospitable ❤️ I liked her behavior ❤️ Over all, The restaurant is a 100% Yay to me! I will definitely come here again if I visit Michigan!

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food. Speed of service and the atmosphere!! Kolija shingara is out of the world. Ilish polao was delicious. Wife and daughters loved the fuchka. Kala bhuna was authentic. Came with fresh naan. I recommend this place to all my Bangladeshi and non Bangladeshi friends

Yelp
Let's start off by saying that I have a Bengali roommate and several friends. I've had the food at bismalla and I've had the food here and I've had home cooked meals. I wouldn't come here if I were you. The food is old, it smells and tastes old and the cook isn't that great. The atmosphere is nice, but honestly I'd rather have good food at a place that looks like a hole in the wall.

Yelp
Only thing fresh is the rice and possibly coffee... went Monday evening was served the oldest driest chicken I've had in my 30+ years. They tried to convince me it was marinated. And pass my experience off as a culture barrier. Old food is old food.

Yelp
Chicken Keema samosas are a "must try" for an appetizer or snack if you like samosas (and chicken)...it's ground chicken with excellent spices and just the right amount of heat...wrapped in a light crunchy wrapper. I ordered a few extra to go for a late night snack...kinda addictive...I'll be back for more. Shrimp Bhuna...sweet onions, excellent spices and large shrimp...wish serving size was bigger...but it was excellent.
