Addington Gallery

Addington Gallery is one of my favorites in Chicago. Dan knows his art and his artists and always explains the work wonderfully. He's so passionate about each artist that you feel like you know them yourself! A great gallery with fantastic art!

My partner and I found a beautiful painting on line and then visited Addington Gallery to view in greater detail. Dan Addington was most accommodating and dropped off the piece to be certain it was for us - and it was! Excellent experience!

Addington Gallery is one of the best galleries in River North and my personal favorite. We are fortunate to have so many great galleries in the city. Dan Addington’s gallery isn't the largest but I think it has the best selection if you're buying. I stop in every time I'm in the neighborhood to talk to Dan and see what’s new since my last visit. I like his welcoming style and that I can look as long as I like without feeling like I have to buy something. Dan knows his artists well and I appreciate the insights he provides about the paintings, something that I haven't always experienced at other galleries. I also like that if you follow a particular artist, Dan will let you know when a new painting comes in. I highly recommend Addington Gallery.

Not only am I a patron of the Addington Gallery I was also an exhibiting artist for 2 group shows. Dan Addington, the very helpful, knowledgeable, and personable owner/curator, has a keen eye for beautiful and unique pieces. The artists he selects produce exquisite, stunning, and diverse artwork. Every time I walk into the gallery I am delighted by the treasures on the walls. I have purchased a handful of amazing pieces that have pleased me greatly, they are one-of-a-kind and beautify my home. The Addington Gallery is always a treat and definitely a must see!🎨😃

Love, Love, Love Addington Gallery. There are quite a few art galleries in the area, and this one is my favorite. Dan, the owner, changes out the space reasonably often, offering a wide variety of quality artists. Dan is very knowledgeable about the techniques used in creating the art, which greatly expands my appreciation of it. He is also genuinely interested in people choosing the right art for themselves. I have never felt pressured, but I have always felt welcomed.

We had a great time at Addington Gallery. The artwork was fantastic and the atmosphere was welcoming. The Gallery staff is first rate, very knowledgable and approachable. The well lit space exhibited paintings and sculptures that were very well handled. Anthony Adcock's ability to trick the eye was enticing. Painting seems to be alive and well and very at home in this space. This gallery is a must visit if you are anywhere near River North. There was parking available on a Saturday and a nice variety of other galleries to visit in this district. 100% will be back for more.

Really enjoyed our recent visit to Chicago and our visit to the Addington Gallery. We were lucky to find a few really great pieces that Dan had just received from artist Jeff Hirst. Dan spent an hour with us figuring out which ones and orientation. Great experience at Addington, really looking forward to hanging our new art.

Amazing gallery and owner. Dan curates a wonderful collection and is so helpful and knowledgeable about each artist and piece. Very reasonably priced and Dan even delivers the pieces and was willing to leave a couple pieces so we could decide if we wanted to keep them. He is our go to guy for art in the city!

This gallery recently opened its 18th anniversary exhibition. Contemporary artworks by American and European artists are featured here.

My wife and I stopped into the Addington Gallery after having a meal nearby. The art you'll find there is a fascinating array of mixed media, and many of the pieces in there are unique in that the art is not only on the front of the canvas but on literally every side of the canvas -- the side edges, the top edges, etc...everywhere but the back. I love that idea - hang it by your staircase and you can see it literally from all angles! The staff there are particularly friendly as well; very helpful and knowledgeable about the artists you'll find there. They also host some interesting art shows that I went back to see. Parking is at a premium, so your best bet is to take the Brown Line or Purple Line Express to the Chicago/Franklin stop; it's very close.

The Addington Gallery is full of intricate, innovative, and unique artwork. The art shown takes skill, technique, and is thoroughly inspired. The owner himself has created a great series of beeswax and tar "paintings" that are inspired by European statues and themes. It's some of the coolest stuff I've seen. Check this gallery out!

Saw a Robin Denevan opening here, which is always amazing. The gallery is very nice, a good size with space for refreshments and nice bathrooms.

I learned that Makoto Fujimura most recent project was being exhibited exclusively at the Addington Gallery I stopped by. Fujimura was awesome and you can tell that Addington Gallery put a lot of time and care into the display. Dan the gallery own was very helpful and knowledgeable about the art featured in his gallery. It was a great experience being able to silently look, ponder and absorb the art. On the other hand it was a really nice being able to talk to Dan about the art as well by exploring and discovering some of the nuances of the art. The facility is nice and in a great location downtown. I have been back and there is a lot of variety in this gallery. In my opinion this is one of the better galleries in the area.

Very cool part of town. The owner has an infectious love for art (his own work is amazing). I went there when I was in grad school- visiting family in Chicago. Even as a starving grad student I had to buy one of the pieces. Now I go back every time I'm in town.

The owner is great to talk to, the art is amazing, and the location perfect. Also ask the owner if he has any of his pieces in the back. They are incredible!
