We went here today for Cinco De Mayo c we celebration! They have delicious drinks, and food! The best Guacamole, and Mole. The service from our cheerful waiter named Alfonso was superb! The place was cozy. We will definitely come back here. It's a nice place to dined in.

It was pretty gross. The snapper was bad and the pork tacos tasted like they were microwaved. It was gross. We came from the beach and thought we’d get a quick bite. It was really gross. Again, it was gross

Do not recommend: I agree with some other reviews the food is mediocre at best. Everything we had just simply did not leave us wanting more nor did we feel like we enjoyed it, presentation looked ok but big lack in flavor. Service was alright. I will not be back.

Great food. The fish tacos were delicious. So was the chips and salsa and other dipping sauces. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It wasn't very busy at the time we went to eat, but it's probably busy at other times of the day. Would definitely return to eat here again, when I come back into town.

Very authentic food and place. In true Hispanic style. Every thing we got was absolutely delicious. Servers was kind and worked in a team and timely manners. They had a lot of seating space so reservations on s unday afternoon were not necessary. Would recommend for a date or night out with friends.

A bit disappointed…I was hoping for tableside guacamole prep but it is COVID and the 1st time I’ve been to Adobe in years, so maybe it’s no longer a thing. I still hope they have the preparation. The food is overpriced,. The menu is commercial Mexican fare but very limited. The restaurants in my neighborhood are (Belmont Cragin) definitely more authentic and less expensive. The day I visited was Cinco de Mayo. I called before driving 20 mins across town to get there and placed my name on the list. Upon arrival, I’m told it would be an hour wait. Party of 4, they somehow tried to play as a party of 2 when the host, originally confirmed a party of 4! All of al the sudden, a table for 4 appeared. Their confusion but it was clearly noticed and committed to memory. The waiter was ok but rushed. I was disappointed the menu doesn’t reflect steak tacos, which a staple for every Mexican restaurant. Yet, I had steak quesadillas. Make it make sense! I probably won’t return unfortunately.

Staff were very friendly. Food was delicious. We ordered the guacamole (yum!! I found the accompanying chips a bit too salty though), enchiladas (also very good), and the brocheta (also really good!). Portion sizes were good. Child friendly - had high chairs. Cant recall if they had changing tables though.

One of my favorite places to sit, chat, n have margarita or mojito with some Guacamole n chips 😋 I really do miss them prepping the Guac 🥑 table-side but I fired there is COVID still out here. I did however did see the guac station by the bar area therefore I knew they still made it the old way. My friend and I had a blast with the server, enjoyed our food and drinks and we both walked out a little tipsy 😉

Food: had say everything was over my expectations, tasty, not too salty and great amount. especially the elote, love the cheese. Service: the staff is really friendly, keep introduce us their daily special tea and another chicken dish, which came out really good. Ambiance: I forgot to take some photo of the fancy interior co we dine "out" at the patio, which also a great place to chill with friends and families. Price: $25/ea after tax&tip for 5 ladies. Love the price!

Such a great spot for Mexican food if you ever find yourself in Old Town. Absolutely loved the guac and the salad. We also loved the tacos. The patio was amazing with such good vibes all around. We had such good service too- our server gave us complimentary shots at the end of the meal.

Way more expensive than we thought it would be. From the outside, this looks more like a hole in the wall kind of restaurant, but don't be fooled. The inside just gets bigger and bigger. I enjoyed my sangria and enchilada. The elote was great too (more meat than actual corn). I just didn't quite see why every item had to be ~$20. Overall, I recommend it if you are really in the mood for drinks and good Mexican food. If not, there are plenty of other good places nearby. - AT

This used to be a go to place for My Husband and me. I especially liked it when they had the location over on Damon and Division Streets. Their margaritas were excellent. Handmade to order and the guacamole was made at the table. It seems ever since they moved around the corner North Avenue from the original Wells Street location. The place has progressively gone downhill. Everything showed up at the table so quickly it must be made in batches. Especially the margaritas they just don't taste like they used to. I had the Torta and I have to say it was pretty tasteless. My Husband said the grilled shrimp entrée he had wasn't bad but overall $150 for mediocre food means we will not be coming back.

A great place for some quick service and delicious tacos! Came here before going to a show at The Second City on a Friday night. We did make reservations for this place a couple weeks prior, and we got right in! Good amount of seating though so I'm guess you should be fine getting in without a reservation. Started out with yummy cocktails, I got the margarita which was so delicious. Not too strong but just enough to taste it so it softens the sweetness. We then had some chips y salsa as a starter! Not your normal just plain salsa and chips, had a good mix of tomatillo sauce, pico, and red salsa.. also something white which we didn't know for sure what it was? (Jicama?)... didn't eat that part however. Salsas however we're very tasty and with a good spice!! I also love fresh pico so that was my favorite part :) Then came the tacos!! These were AMAZING. So juicy and tender. I love tacos that aren't too filled with "stuff", the simpler the better. These tacos were just that! I also used some of the salsas from earlier on the tacos too which was a fun addition. Overall this place definitely met expectations. Very cozy feeling and fun Christmas decorations were up as well! A good place to hit up before heading over to Second City, bring some friends to just hangout or happy hour, or even a fun place for a date :)

Alfonso is awesome! He greeted us, sat us and poured us amazing drinks! Seriously good vibe in this place we had so much fun. Drinks are fantastic, guac and salsa was great! Definitely a fun place to come on a Friday night!

Food was good. Nothing outstanding. The margaritas are in a super small martini glass. I think I finished mine in 2 sips... barely 2 gulps. Great outdoor seating space.

The cutest outdoor patio located on North Ave! We took a stroll down Wells Street looking for a casual bite to eat and found this gem! Perfect for a summer evening when you're craving delicious Mexican food and margs What we ordered: APPS: - Chips and Guacamole - their Guac was so creamy and delicious. Came in a large authentic bowl too! DRINKS: - La Pila - this was the perfect crisp summer drink! Shaken and poured at the table, it was made with pineapple infused tequila and coconut rum. - Michelado - definitely more of an acquired taste, but your standard Michelado with a Tajin rim! FOOD: - We were feeling pretty full from our apps and drinks, so we opted for taco salads! - It comes with lettuce, black beans, onions, cheese, tomatoes, tortilla triangles and strips, and your choice of chicken or chorizo. - A larger serving with lots of veggies! Overall- definitely a great spot for a low key weeknight dinner or weekend drinks!

Really disappointed in this place. Very overpriced for mediocre salsa that taste like it came from a can and guacamole. I could of gone to Tony's and it would probably been better.

Their salsa tastes straight out of a can... Guac was decent but I'm sure it was jewel pre made

Amazing restaurant. Food is wonderful. Very kind and thoughtful service. Guacamole is fresh and delicious and the ceviche w shrimp outstanding. Everything great!

The ambiance was awful. In the back room that was packed and everyone screaming over music. When you can't hear what your table of 5 is saying and everyone is screaming it's horrible experience! I go out to enjoy dinner with friends not talk over 50 other guest and music. Get some sound foam on the ceiling and turn the music to a normal level this is a restaurant not a dance club. Now let's chat about service! Poor waiter had the whole room of 50+ people causing us to wait for long periods of time. The food was good but who serves a taco salad without a taco shell for $19? You are a Mexican restaurant how dissatisfied I was when a big bowl of lettuce shows up. Not all was bad the chips, salsa, guacamole and strong drinks was the best part! Do better!

Five stars!!!!!! If you find yourself in the Old Town area and you're looking for something to make your stomach happy, STOP IN HERE! Smaller restaurant with maybe 10 tables. Group of 3 of us had no issues on a Thursday night around 6pm. The service was great and the server was super friendly and knew the menu! Margaritas were definitely a hit at our table. The only weird thing? The Tequila tasted more like Prosecco than tequila! I kept sipping my drink and was curious why it tasted so familiar! Enchiladas were great. Would recommend

Alfonso made our girl's night out special! From the moment I stepped foot in the restaurant he made some fabulous drink recommendations and brought over guacamole made at the table . All of the drinks were made hand shaken by him. He was very attentive and had incredible infectious energy! Everything was authentic, fresh, expertly plated, and delicious! I will definitely dine at Adobo Grill again!

This place is trash for vegans. Almost zero options. The veggie tacos are completely lame and worthless. The guac is good that's it.

With this restaurant being on the cusp of Old Town and being near a lot of popular late night bar spots it has quite the competition. While I wasn't able to try the drinks the food seemed okay at best. Seeing others hype up the guacamole inclined me to try it--but it tasted like any other store bought guac for 2x or 3x the price. The tacos also weren't particularly special and tasted okay. It might be more worth it to get some tacos at a fast casual dining place to get your fix for Mexican food. All being said I haven't tried the margaritas here and there seems to be good reviews there!

Margaritas made martini style table side. The spicy mezcal margarita was terrific with a bit more kick from the jalapeno mezcal than I could take. Both Pilo cocktail and sangria were yummy! My friend thought the Al pastor taco needed more pineapple but we both loved the elote!! My meat and pineapple app was super flavorful and delicious. Service was terrific and the location cute as well as great for second city.

I have been walking past Adobo Grill for months and have always wanted to stop in. This weekend I finally made a plan to go, and it did not disappoint! It's definitely more of a date spot or girls night just based on pricing. If you're getting drinks it's definitely not a cheap bite to eat, but that wasn't our expectation. We went at 2pm right when they opened, as often times it can get crowded in the evenings. We had almost the whole patio to ourselves minus a few other guests. We were helped promptly and were able to get great drinks and food! All of the food tasted amazing and there were plenty of options for both food and drink. The service was great and I would definitely recommend this spot for someone looking for a new place to go in Old Town.

Hadn't visited since the plague started last year and was glad to see they're still a reliable eatery for great Mexican food. It was a beautiful evening in Chicago, so we chose the patio. Tables socially distanced, and the crew wore masks. Started with cocktails, and they have a generous pour here. We both had the tacos. I chose the fish and my friend the shrimp. The fish tacos were tasty... corn tortillas filled with beer-battered tilapia, topped with creamy chipotle mayo and cabbage. Can't leave this place without splitting an order of churros. Super fresh, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, with chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. Deliciosa! Good coffee, too. The inside of this restaurant is beautiful and feels authentic. Street parking, which can be challenging on weekends. There's a parking garage across the street.

Great food ! Loved sitting out side with drinks. Great place to come with friends during the summer.

Went to Adobo Grill before a show at second city yesterday with a party of 6. The staff was super accommodating and friendly, they were focused on our drink orders like no other. Food was great we all had the various enchilada offerings. Guac was great too. If you are looking for solid Mexican I would recommend this spot. The only negative was that they did take a long time to ask for our dinner orders but I think that was because we were deep in conversation.

Poor service. Had to eat with coat on the restaurant was so cold. Boneless chicken had bone fragments is it. very displeased.

What a neat little Mexican restaurant! Very authentic. Service was excellent! Guacamole was a must! Pork and shredded beef tacos to die for!

Go somewhere elsewhere. Took a date here on a recommendation from a friend and ended up sick from the food. Both my girlfriend and myself. Avoid and go somewhere else to not waste money and get sick

READ THIS BEFORE SEATING YOUR SELF TO TASTY TOWN! First Star: FOOD was absolutely delicious and presentation homey authentic vibe. Second Star: DRINKS are made tasty and well. Great balance of flavor and liquor. Third Star: SPEEDY accommodating, food came out in a blink. Fourth Star: CLEANLINESS/ATMOSPHERE Was clean, sociable and fun: Missing star: Service while very efficient could be warmer. Albeit with a slammed location sometimes during these crazy times it's hard to stay warm with the energy.

Incredible on every count! Guacamole was out of this world! Mojito was so flavorful with the basil flourish.

Yuk. Food and service were awful,. I don't know what happened to this place as it used to be quite good before they moved. Don't waste your time.

Was waiting for walk in appointment for my cat. After 4 hours of waiting, I needed something and luckily adobo grill was down the street. The michelin guide recommended the tuna poke and I also got the elote as well. Food was fantastic, elote was really good, nice flavor and everything you want in an elote but you can get it much cheaper from other places with the same quality. Tuna poke was phenomenal though. They came with chips which I was slightly disappointed as you can tell the chips were store bought. Nevertheless the flavor of the poke was on point. Perfect balance of sweet, salty, sour, and spicy. Not to mention, the tuna was so fresh. Usually, when I order raw tuna, sometimes it has a slight sour note. However, this tuna did not have it which I think indicates its higher quality and more fresh. Great dish, unlike the elote, they give you an ample amount, I know it was an app but the amount could be treated as an entree! I browsed the rest of the menu and there are several things I can;t wait to come back for!

Adobo Grill was today's pop up restaurant in my office building and they did not disappoint! We had our choice of Mexican tamales or tacos and I opted for tacos. We had our choice of chicken, barbacoa, al pastor or veggie, and I had one chicken and one barbacoa. They also offered sides of rice & beans but I opted for a side of guacamole & chips instead. Both meats were tender and good but the barbacoa was particularly flavorful. Beef can sometimes be tough and chewy, yet this beef was super tender! They are the real deal for authentic tacos; with cilantro and onions, and they had shaved Chihuahua or Mexican cheese too. The guac was awesome!! Freshly made with the right amount of tomato and avocado chunks! Yum. Good crisp chips, too. A great lunch at a very reasonable price! I got my taco fix today and it was GOOD, so I'm happy! Adobo Grill, please come back soon!

Great meal, even greater margaritas! They shake them fresh tableside and they are awesome! Nice and tart and not overly sweet. The guac is also awesome and is a must order to start your meal- also made tableside so it is nice and fresh. I went with 2 others and we each ordered a different taco plate (comes with 3 of the same) and then shared so we could try a variety. The side of black beans and rice are simple but good as well. Service was great. Will be back for more food and ritas!

We went the other day and had a relaxing and delicious meal on the patio. I'm pretty picky with patios and enjoy Ed this one since it's a little set back from the street. We had a margarita, chips and guac and the al pastor and costilla tacos with churros for dessert! It was delicious! I will definitely come back!

The ahi tuna ceviche and spicy pepino drink were amazing! Servers were attentive. Had such a great time.

Great service, the taquitos dorados were soooooo gooooood I wasn't a huge fan of the chips and salsa but it wasn't that bad I'd give this place a 8.5/10 one of the bartenders gave me a free shot cus it was my birthday so shoutout to him I would definitely come back forsure!

George and the Adobo Grill staff helped us put on a great event! I planned a pre-show cocktail reception for a group of 25-30 guests. George was very helpful when setting up the event with me via email. The menu opens at Adobo Grill are really great. We were set-up in their party space that opened up to the patio. The room was in the front but closed off to the main restaurant so we did not hear any noise from the other tables. I arrived a little early to the restaurant and George was there to greet me. He made sure to have our appetizers set out and ready for when my guests arrived--we had a mix of appetizers on tables and some passed by servers. The servers made sure all our guests were taken care of and kept all our margarita glasses filled. Highlights are definitely the guacamole and margaritas! I got lots of compliments on the cocktail reception and give all that credit to George and his team! We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend Adobo Grill.

I love this place! Adobo has been in Old Town for generations, and even as other businesses come and go, it stands the test of time. The people who work there have also been there for years, which is a great sign of a well-run business that cares about its employees and its clientele. The food is high-end Mexican/Latin fusion and they have rotating specials that are always creative and delicious. What I like most is the purity of the food and drink. The guacamole is made to order and only has pure ingredients. The margaritas are some of the best in town. No artificial mixes, just real natural ingredients (fresh squeezed, lime juice, housemaid, simple, syrup, etc.). They also have a fantastic tequila menu, so definitely try a tequila flight. If you have never had quality tequila you are in for a treat.

Happened to have some extra time before a Second City show and was craving some Mexican food so we stopped in for a bite. Saw lots of people enjoying their outdoor seating. I got the chicken tacos, which came with guajillo marinated chicken breast cheese, breaded avocado, crispy onions, chipotle, and a side of fiesta rice. The breaded avocado gave a nice texture to the dish. Their tortilla are house-made but got a little soggy by the time I had the second taco. I also tried one of their cocktails that had watermelon infused corazon blanco, fresh watermelon juice, and gran torres. Very refreshing! Their guac is made table side so that was fun to watch. The food was overall fine, not somewhere I'm dying to come back to. There are lots of other places that serve a bit more authentic Mexican food for cheaper. Their happy hour might be worth coming back for if I'm in the area. They have happy hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. Their deals include $2 tacos, $4 draft beers, $6 cocktails, and half off sangria pitchers.

Wow. I said that about 10x throughout the meal. Margaritas were great, I got the mezcal blood orange margarita. Elote is great as well.

I will say this place is convenient for dinner before a Second City show or if you just happen to be in the area. It has a really loud, fun, and energetic atmosphere. There's a really nice patio and lots of seating options. Great place to come with a group or for causal margaritas/drinks. Is it delicious Mexican food? Not really. In fact, I thought it was pretty mediocre. I ordered the adobo chicken salad, which was edible but nothing special. I was a little disappointed because it was supposed to have an eclectic mix of items in the salad (avocado, corn, tomatoes, etc.) but was disappointed at how much corn/tomatoes were included. I also thought the cilantro dressing was very bland and so it was kind of tasteless. On the plus side, the guacamole is absolutely delicious and is a must if you go there. They make it right in front of you and you can choose how spicy you want it -- even the medium had a kick to it! It tasted so fresh and made the meal. I'm not sure if I would come back since there's so many other restaurants in the area, but I for sure would go just for the guacamole.

Fav Mexican restaurant in the city! Best chips and salsa, skirt steak. Their tequila dinner every month is a great deal! $42 for 4 shots of tequila,4 cocktails, 4 courses!!!

I came here for drinks after the Hot Dog Fest with a few friends and we sat out in the nice patio area. I ordered an Adobo Margarita with a Smokey Floater, which is a side shot of mezcal. After that I had a Pisco Sour. They were both very good and I would definitely get them again if they were a litter cheaper. Also, I wouldn't want to come if it were very crowded, because the bathroom is a tiny little closet with one stall and one urinal. I felt cramped even when I was the only one in there. Overall, the patio is nice and the drinks are good, but it is a bit on the pricey side.

Adobo Grill was my pop up restaurant today in my downtown office building. I opted for the chicken taco lunch combo that comes with quinoa rice and vegetarian black fried beans. DELICIOUS!! I've never been to the actual restaurant,but after today I will be making it my business to get to there. Food was very good and very fresh. I love the fact they have vegetarian options as well. The combo meal cost me $8.00 and to me it was well worth the cost. We get so many taco restaurants for pop up, but honestly if it's not Adobo Grill I probably will not be buying it. It's like once the bar has been raised you can't eat that dish below that standard again.

Fun stop with good services. They have indoor and outdoor seating in Old Chicago. I thought their menu was very limiting and wasn't worth the price you paid for the food. Pretty standard American Mexican food. The margaritas were okay and the chips were a little stale. The guacamole it's self was wonderful! What really made our experience was the service, our waiter was really great and very attentive! Good for groups and for a casual spot!

Amazing for our large group. Adobo was so kind to take our reservation for 15 on Cindo de Mayo and treated our group so well. The festive environment was perfect for a bachelorette party. Everyone really enjoyed our food and the service was attentive and timely despite them being very busy. We especially loved the fish tacos and spicy margarita. Would love to dine here again!

Let me begin by saying i don't even like margaritas. But oh my lord the blood orange margarita I had hear was like pure joy blended w ice and salted. Dont even get me started on the guacamole, it's made fresh and the salsa is SPICY!!! Tacos: corn tortillas are superior. Don't try and fight me on this, because I know this to be true. Do you hate your gluten free friends? I got the veggie tacos and I don't even like black beans but I sure felt like I did as I basically swallowed each taco whole. Dessert: dulce de leche cake done right. Soaked in coconut caramel flavor, moist, soft, the only time I've ever had a better one was in Macchu Picchu. Basically, 10/10. This place made me like foods and drinks I don't even like. And at the same time catered to all my dietary restrictions. Only reason it's getting 4 stars is because the brand of chicken they use does not have a great reputation.

My boyfriend and I came here for a Sunday brunch and had a delicious and satisfying meal. He ordered the omelette Mexicana and I ordered the Huevos divorciados. The omelette was buttery and really light. The crema and the crumbled cheese really brought everything together. But, I LOVED my dish. Two perfectly poached eggs on sopes with red and green salsa with awesome breakfast potatoes parting the two salsas like Moses parting the red sea. Everything on the plate belong on there and everything tasted awesome separately and all mixed together. And judging from other Yelper's pics, Adobo Grill doesn't mess around for their lunch and dinner menu items as well. Make sure to ask for the habanero salsa. It really isn't that much hotter than their standard salsa that comes with the chips but does provide a slight sweetness for whatever you're eating. We also ordered the Bloody Maria, their playful take on the Bloody Mary. The tequila instead of vodka really makes it taste...different. I know, I know. I knew what was in it when I ordered it but it just didn't mix too well with the meal. I felt like it needed more salt or spices. It tastes like light V8 with tequila.

My husband and I had a nice dinner here. Waiter was very accommodating when I asked for a low sugar margarita; he made me a skinny girl with mezcal, and it was excellent. We had the guacamole which was delicious. I had the ahi tuna cerviche as my entree as I wasn't too hungry and it was very tasty. Hubs had the short rib tacos; he said the meat was a bit dry. Finished it all off with tres leches which delicious. Would be back if we had a hankering for Mexican food again but maybe won't try the short rib tacos again

I had dinner at the Adobo Grill a few weeks ago with a friend. It was my first time visiting the restaurant after they moved from Wells Street around the corner. We didn't make a reservation and walked in around 7:30 on a Saturday night. It was moderately busy but they managed to have a table for two right near the window. The waitress came over and said hello. She brought us water to drink and asked if we wanted something else. I settled on the Adobo Margarita while my friend asked about a drink she'd had this summer but it didn't appear to be on the menu. The waitress said she'd check with the bartender. In the meantime we order chips and guac for the table. Two minutes later a woman wheeled over a cart to our table and prepared our guac tableside, just to our liking. Can't beat service like this! The best part was the taste... Some of the best guac I've ever had! Eventually our drinks came. The bartender had remembered the drink specials from the summer and whipped up the same cocktail my friend remembered! As for my margarita, it was mixed tableside and was delicious! Definitely the perfect drink to enjoy with some chips and guac on a cold November night. For dinner I ordered the Costilla tacos which were barbacoa beef short rib while my friend ordered the Al Pastor tacos which were roasted pork tacos. We didn't have to wait long for the tacos and they didn't disappoint. The beef tacos were some of the best tacos I've had in the city in a long time. Usually I rave about Federales' tacos in the West Loop but Adobo's has them beat for sure! The beef was super flavorful and they're searched on corn tortillas. This matters to me as I have celiac and can't eat the flour tortillas. As for the pork tacos, they were good too but I wasn't a huge fan. They featured caramelized pineapples and I'm not a big fan of mixing my sweet and savory flavors. That said, they were still great! Overall I give this place 5 stars easily. I can't wait to come back and am excited for warmer weather and their patio! Definitely worth checking this place out before a show at Second City or a night out in Old Town. Highly recommended.

Solid spot for Mexican in Old Town. The restaurant has a back room for seating and also an enclosed patio so much more space than you see when you're just passing by outside. Drinks are always good. I go with the margarita, no salt. For food, the guacamole is great! Little pricey for guacamole but it's made table side and ingredients are super fresh. They'll ask you how you want it, like spicy or medium, and make in just how you asked. The chips usually come out hot and fresh too. I always get the chicken enchiladas; consistently good dish! I do think the portions are a tad smaller than some other Mexican restaurants, and the prices are higher than other places but the foods always been quality eats. Service is always wonderful! The staff is super friendly and sweet. Always smiling and checking in on you. Definitely a spot to check out if you're craving Mexican in the area, or if you are catching a show at Second City!!

We came for brunch and opted to sit inside as it was a tad bit hot out. We were seated right away. Our waiter was fast and very friendly. The Mexican waffle was delicious I can't rave enough. It is a must try .My fiancé has since been trying to find a Mexican waffle elsewhere with out any luck. He also had the chilaquilles they were pretty good nothing special.I had the chicken tortilla soup and although it was a small serving it was very flavorful and my favorite dish. The empanadas were perfection ! The coffee was strong. I can't wait to come back!
