Adriana's

We went back to Adriana's for a family birthday celebration and were surprised to find the menu had changed a bit but the food was good as usual and the portions very very generous. The service was slow and although the waitress was sweet and apologetic she forgot drinks and brought things we did not order. Overall we had a great time and although we did not get a happy birthday song from staff the people in our dining area made the evening great.

I tried the shrimp scampi and it was pretty good. Service was good and the food came out quickly and in such large portions.

Had a very delicious traditional cold seafood salad at Adriana’s and would highly recommend. The seafood was fresh, tender and delicious. It was as more than a meal. I would recommend splitting this appetizer with at least two to four people. As you can see it is a very healthy portion.

We’ve been to Adriana‘s restaurant many times. They serve a good variety of delicious food. Except for last night. I ordered the beet salad, which is usually good however, this time the beats were soft and pale as if they were canned . My husband ordered swordfish. It was a thinnest piece of swordfish we ever saw, and it was overcooked and dehydrated. I ordered the fillet and they brought me blackened salmon instead. The waiter apologized for the mistake, gave my husband a drink on the house and said the correct meal that I ordered would take some time. The fillet is stuffed with cheese and piñons nuts. But since they rushed it, it was undercooked, and when I cut into it, the blood from the steak was oozing into the stuffing. It was gross. Since we had already been there a long time waiting for my meal to come, I decided to take it home and warm it up the next day. The interior was still bloody. We regret not sending the food back. Very disappointing.

This was my favorite restaurant for years. Went Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Sat at high top in bar and the waiter was not friendly and ignored us for a good hour after serving our cocktails. Never returned to tell us specials and kept catering to the only other table in the bar who seemed to be regular customers. Finally got his attention to order another cocktail and had to say wait can we hear the specials?? He seemed all evening to be doing us a favor taking care of us. And he obviously told other waitstaff he was annoyed with us for whatever reason God only knows because they kept looking over at us after he walked away We were very gracious to him and others the entire evening even though he was not. Our bill for 2 people was $204 and I left $40 tip that he did not deserve. He only smiled when he brought the bill to us. Hate that. Bad service and smile at the end when it’s pay the check time Only problem he didn’t know he would have gotten the extra $20 tip we gave to the nice man outside opening the door for us. That’s what happens when you are nice to people. Won’t be returning. Too many great restaurants in the area that they are happy to have us there. And he didn’t know I was a tv celebrity and could have received a big tip for being nice. You need waitstaff training when the economy is hurting. Was very quiet there for a Saturday night so pay attention to what’s wrong.

The entree serving sizes were very large! Can be shared amongst two to three people. However, the food was mediocre. The pasta was extremely bland. The ribeye lacked salt and was fattier than anticipated (for a ribeye). We didn’t like the blossoms. We did, however, thoroughly enjoy the lamb, calamari, and fried mozzarella. Our server was very friendly and provided recommendations - she had great knowledge of the menu. She was very sharp and had an amazing attitude! The atmosphere was quiet as we visited on a Tuesday night and were the only party seated in our area. I wouldn’t return based on the food the day we visited. But I would recommend based on the serving sizes and the quality of service provided. There’s also plenty of parking in the free lot outside.

Excellent Italian restaurant in CT! There are a ton of specials to choose from, including burrata. The portions are massive so definitely be ready to share or have leftovers. For the price it's great, and drinks aren't that expensive either. Service is quick and friendly. Parking is plenty and free.

Came here for my birthday dinner with my boyfriend and appreciated the slightly fancy atmosphere. And by that I just mean they had tablecloths. It was quiet and intimate. Food was delicious and came in huuuge portions! The caprese salad tasted fresh. My pappardelle came with very generous chunks of lobster in a perfect, creamy sauce. For dessert we had the tiramisu which our server very kindly stuck a candle in for me upon my boyfriend's request. Service was very nice and prompt!

As old-school as family Italian style gets. Food appears n platters that look to feed an entire village - order carefully, or you will be swamped with deletables. The fettucini with a brandy cream sauce, porcini mushrooms and prosciutto is amazing. Veal saltimbocca - chef's kiss. An appetizer, a pasta, and a main - and four people are well fed. It can be loud and boisterous - but that's half the fun.

This has been our 5th time coming - it's just consistently delicious. Strangely when we pulled up it looked like it was boarded up, maybe it's to prevent a cold draft but thankfully it's still there! Parking lot was empty. We had our almost two year old that had to tag along for dinner and they were very accommodating- the server was able to adjust menu items as we needed for dietary needs and when our little guy was getting bored they brought over a piece of paper to draw on. We went during a week day and barely 5 couples in there. I was able to walk around with our little guy (which in the past and on a weekend would never happen) - my son took an interest to peek into the kitchen and all the cooking staff were nice let him take a good look at the team in action. Thanks Adriana's again for wonderful food and kind /accommodating team and servers!

After going to ADRIANA'S charming Italian restaurant on Grand Avenue in New Haven for decades, today's lunch was definitely the most impressive ever. Chef Federico provided the finest quality, outstanding freshness and a truly tantalizing dining experience. The flavors of our meals were astounding and the presentation was nothing short of spectacular. The homemade pasta was abundant with flavorful juicy lobster. For those of you have never tried Osso Bucco this is the place to experience it. The tantalizing flavor of the veal shank melts in your mouth. The bewitching saffron risotto was the perfect accompaniment to this delicious and irresistible dinner. The service was impeccable. Our waiter Frank, Laura and Carmen were professional, attentive, enthusiastic, caring, and truly a pleasure to interact with as they anticipated our every need before we even knew we had it. The restaurant was super clean and well organized. There is convenient parking right in front of the restaurant and off the street. Overall, the meal was dazzling and kudos to Chef Federico for these divine entrees!

Amazing meal got there as they had just closed the kitchen . While we were standing outside trying to figure out where to go before we got another Uber the waiter got the kitchen to fit us in. Great service throughout not rushed at all. Food was on point no slacking at the last meal. I had oyster ripiene they were so good . Pappadeux in Atlanta has a variation of this that I thought was the pinnacle. This place is substantially better juicier oyster tastier spinach more prominent crab. Then I had the scallops in brandy sauce with a white wine sauce and wild mushrooms and it was so good as well. My friend had the tagliatelle which he really enjoyed I assume since he at the entire giant bowl. Very solid 5 stars from us. Almost worth another trip up from Mississippi.

We came here on our trip to New England found this restaurant in search of italian food and all I can say is WOW. From the appetizers to the drinks this place did it right for us. Service was great very attentive. Food was impressive and the amount they serve is great to share as it is in large portions. I had an expresso martini and this was heaven. I highly recommend of in the area.

Amongst a sea of quality New Haven Italian restaurants, Adriana's still manages to stand out with their massive portion sizes. The prices on the menu may initially raise some eyebrows, but when the food arrives on giant platters spilling over the edges of your table, it starts to make a little more sense. The dishes we have tried so far have all been tasty and have a pleasantly light flavor profile. For example, I was expecting the Papardelle Al'Astico (lobster pappardelle) to be heavy, but the cream sauce was well-balanced and the addition of artichoke hearts rounded out the dish nicely. With a free parking lot, huge portions, and solid dessert and coffee, Adriana's is a well-rounded Italian option in the area. Great for a date night or family dinner!

Huge portions, attentive service. The lobster tagliatelle I ordered was enough for 3 people. We had two appetizers which was enough to feed our party of 5. Beef carpaccio with a delicious arugula salad, and seafood stuffed clams which were mediocre. Overall solid and a great place for our Christmas Eve dinner. Dessert included homemade tiramisu and crème brûlée - both yum.

Real people serving real food. Ambiance is nice in the bar. Specials: (steaks, sea bass and pasta are all great). Eggplant parm as an app is fantastic. They also have some good wines by the bottle and they know what to recommend. This is One of our favorites in the area.

In the party room that held 56 people. As soon as we yeld " surprise" they brought out the food as soon as the guest of honor was seated. We were at a table of 10 and they brought out 2 trays of salad, 2 trays of calamari, 2 trays of antipasto which consisted of roasted peppers, sliced tomato's, sliced mozzarella, prosciutto and dried sausage. 2 baskets of Italian bread. Then they brought out 2 platters of meatballs, 2 platters of penne vodka and 2 of sausage with broccoli rabe. They kept filling our wine, soda and water glasses continually. The food which was delicious and extremely abundant was platted and boxed up. The wait staff insisted we take food home at the request of the party givers. The food was great as was the continued service and we got to take home food. Home run all the way. We got there at 3 and were done by 6. Sal E. New Rochelle

My first time there, did not disappoint at all. The server was impressive, she knew her wines and specials for the evening. The food was amazing. We ordered quite a few appetizers and entrees to share. Every dish was spot on. The place is nice, plenty of parking. Can't wait to get back there!

Our waitress was very friendly & helpful. We ordered the Fried Calamari to start. For dinner, we ordered the Shrimp Scampi ($5 extra with pasta) & the Pan-Seared Scallops. The food was very good, and the servings are very generous! The tiramisu was also delicious.

This restaurant and its staff are AMAZING! We had a celebratory luncheon here. Tony gave us our own room and it was nice and spacious and private. The service was impeccable! The waiters remembered what everyone drank and was quickly and efficiently on hand in case anyone needed anything. The food was wonderful and was served family style, with large portions. Amazing food, wonderful servers and a good price. We will definitely be back!

We have been to this restaurant several times in the past. The food is always excellent and the portions are very generous. However, our visit this past Saturday, we were very disappointed with the service. The waiter was very rude and rushing us through the meal from start to finish. When I asked for a cappuccino, he rolled his eyes and said it would take a half hour. We understand the restaurant was busy, but his demeanor was totally inappropriate and unprofessional. I believe his name was Frank. There are other good Italian restaurants in this area and we will not be returning soon. Richie G.

Just enjoyed a family style meal with a party of 15 at Adrianna's. The food was delicious. From the burrata and tomato appetizer to the chicken cordon bleu, everything was done to perfection. It was impressive how well the staff was able to accommodate such a large party. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the New Haven area.

In the area for an appointment and came for dinner. The bolognese was amazing. I dined with someone with a gluten allergy and they were amazingly accommodating. She had GF pasta all Norma. Frank was our server and he was WONDERFUL. It makes me want to drive the 3+ hours to come back. I'll definitely return if I'm back in the area for sure. Portion size - you may want to share. Enormous.

Is there anything on the menu that isn't delicious? Is the service ever anything but impeccable? Had a lunch there and the staff was so kind and helpful. "Stay as long as you like, we can make anything you like from the menu". From start to finish it's so good. Had the tagliatelle with bolognese, soooo good!!

Old Skool Italiano! The John Dory is possibly my favorite fish dish of all time! This place is the real deal, so wear your pinky ring and mangia! Eat! It's great!

Adriana's never disappoints! I have taken students there on a field trip and just recently brought my mother to celebrate her 83rd birthday. She loved it and the food was phenomenal! Tony is a great waiter, as he always is! The entire staff was attentive and friendly and I look forward to my next meal there!

It was nice to find a restaurant with a parking lot. We had made reservations and were seated promptly. Complementary bread and pickled vegetables were brought out. They had arancini as a special that day which we ordered. Also ordered the oysters for an appetizer. Tried the bucatini, Vitello paradiso, saltimbocca and costolette di miale Calabrese. The portions are absolutely humongous and can easily feed two. The flavors were amazing and made me want to come back. The staff was great. Not having to deal with street parking was a bonus.

Pleasantly surprised with our meal here. Everything was very good and not overly salty. The lobster pasta was surprisingly not heavy. The fish was perfectly garlicky and lemony. Our espresso martinis were delicious. Huge portion sizes! Would 100% recommend coming here!

Huge portions of delicious food with excellent service! Went with a large party and we're treated like we were the only table. Everything was perfect. Upscale enough for an occasion meal but comfortable enough to go anytime.

We had a light fare, salads and calamari. Food was good. Big portions. Service very good. Recommend.

We love Adriana's and have never gone there and had a bad meal. These pictures are from one of our visits. The building is unassuming but inside it's a whole different story. There is never an empty seat, I highly recommend making a reservation. The service is great. Anything on the menu is great and you won't be disappointed with this authentic Italian food.

This review is actually intended as a note to the owner, I hope he receives it. We've been coming to Adriana's for years and it is one of our favorite restaurants. The food has always been fantastic and the staff very welcoming. That said, I've noticed your business has fallen off considerably this year, and I would like to share an observation with you. The new guy you hired at the front desk has repeatedly come across as not friendly, not in touch with your guests and definitely not welcoming. He hangs out at at the desk talking to his buddies and seems bothered with any interruptions. In the past, before this guy took over, we always felt welcomed and appreciated when we came in... and it was genuine, the people were warm and friendly, but that atmosphere is gone now. It's a shame because I believe that is big part of the restaurant experience, and it was always terrific at Adriana's before. In any case, I don't know the background or anything else about your operations, but I can tell you, the new guy at the desk has poor people skills and is not good for your business.... in my opinion.

Huge portions and food was good. Service took a while but overall a good experience for traditional Italian food.

All I can say is everything from the parking lot attendant holding the door for us to our waitress Elizabeth and the food and service was over the top . Portions are big so bring your appetite. We can't wait to return. We all ordered off the specials of the day menu. The bar is set high to try and top this restaurant now . Don't miss this place if at all possible. LOVE at this place. It's always a staple when I go to visit back home. I definitely recommend making a reservation. I always have the best meals here & the service is so quick.

Awesome food just what I was used to eating in the Bronx. Fast service and friendly staff. The portions are huge and always take home !

Food is okay, portions are big. Our waiter mocked us for walking in with a mask, then didn't tell us the daily specials, even though I asked him directly for recommendations. I don't care if you wear a mask or not, but why would you give customers a hard time for having one on? Later on, the table next to us got the daily special and when I asked the waiter about it, he shrugged and said, "you didn't ask for today's specials." The outside looked like an abandoned building, but maybe they just didn't want to open the security gates. Doesn't really matter to me, but kind of lazy for a place where I am having a $38 veal plate. I asked to speak with a manager before leaving, and the hostess pointed me to someone sitting around the corner. It was our waiter. I asked him directly if he was a manager, he said there was no manager working today. Overall, Olive Garden food is almost as good without the bad attitude.

Nothing better than this staple which is a hidden gem. Been here forever and will last forever I hope. The food is ridiculous as are the portions. The service is impeccable. None better in my opinion.

Been here several times. Outstanding food & service as usual. However, the mgmt. of the place leaves something to be desired. We were offered a choice of 4pm or 8:30 reservation on a busy late December week (I get it), so we took 4pm. We finished around 5:45 and the place was still largely empty. Found this quite annoying. Also the reservations woman was on the phone and understandably couldn't help us when we arrived - but FIVE other people standing at the entrance just stood there and did nothing to seat us. Just unprofessional. Next time I'll get takeout.

Traditional Italian restaurant. The quality has decreased over time per my boyfriends review who grew up going to this place. He said before COVID you couldn't go wrong with ordering anything on the menu, but we were both disappointed at our last visit in October. It was my first time and I was unimpressed :/ very big portions though.

Had an awesome meal for Christmas Eve! Great service considering it was packed! Lots of laughs. Very friendly atmosphere. You out did yourself , Frederico and staff. Thank you!

My husband and I spontaneously came for a weekday dinner, and the restaurant was packed! We were seated in the back room, which has a lot less ambiance than the bar and front rooms. However, you could tell it'd be great for groups. Our waiter was a little impersonal, but the food was really, really good. The burrata special was really a standout. With the side of pesto end fresh prosciutto, I could go to heaven with this dish and be happy. Entree and pasta portions are huge. Absolutely huge. My fettuccine con porcini was rich and truffle-y. My husband's pollo ripieno was also flavorful. Both we could turn into an extra meal or two. Wines by the glass were not very interesting. The bottle we wanted was not available. I only wish we had had room for dessert.

Called for a takeout order. Female on the phone sighed loudly and quickly said "I think the kitchen is closed." Two seconds later she proceeded to say "Sorry the kitchen is closed!" The service here has gone down bad in the last year or so. For context it's 7:58 PM.

Seriously AMAZING food. Arrived on Wednesday from Texas. Ate here from a local recommendation. This place did not disappoint! I had to go back a second time in my 5 day visit. Quality, and authenticity is off the charts!! Thank you.

NOTE: The portion sizes here are massive and possibly considered family styled ( I don't think that one person can finish one entree by themselves) This was a delicious, homey, and authentic Italian restaurateur. I think that the only thing that I wish I knew beforehand was the massive sizes of the entrees. If we had known that it was going to be so large, we probably would have ordered less since we ended up taking more than 1/2 of our entire meals home. I went here on a visit with some family friends and thought that the food here was delicious and the staff was very friendly and answered any question we had. Also the complementary bread and olive oil and fresh vegetables is delicious. The quality of the olive oil ( and I love olive oil) was very good. We ordered: Fried Calamari - (5/5) I think that a good fried calamari is crisp but has a light batter and Adriana's hit the spot. The marinara sauce was made from fresh tomatoes and overall a very solid dish. We devoured this in minutes. Spaghetti Ai Frutti Di Mare - This is a spaghetti with clams, shrimp, scallops, mussels, and calamari in a red sauce. I did not personally have this dish but head that the seafood was very fresh and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Also, they really do not skimp on the seafood and it was just a huge platter of food. Parpadelle Al'Astico - (5/5) This was a parpadelle (thicker pasta) with lobster meat, artichoke hears, and tomatoes in a sherry cream sauce. I thought that this dish was very delicious. The tartness of the artichoke balanced the richness of the cream sauce. Also there was massive chunks of lobsters in this pasta. This dish could easily feed two (possibly even three people) For the pricing, which ranged from $19-$25 per entree, I thought that it was extremely reasonable considering the portion sizes. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area. Note: the portion sizes are bigger in real life than in the photos

Very disappointing, sat in the bar since they had a large party coming in. Ordered the calamari, it was chewy, dry abd not enough breading, sent that back. Ordered Vitello milanese, the delivered chicken milanese. Once I got the vitallo to say that it was bland is a understatement. I never ever add salt to a dish, there was not enough salt to save this dish. Had to flag down wait staff just to order a glass of wine. My dinner companion has the Pollo ripoeno, which she enjoyed.

When my wife and I walked in, the receptionist was talking to someone and completely ignored us for about 5 minutes. She didn't even acknowledge our presence. The server took for ever to take our order. The food was horrible. After we left we later called to speak to a manager and was told by a waiter that he was the person in charge and that they never know when a manager is there???? We crossed the place off our list.

All food was delicious. We got the Fried Calamari as an appetizer and we got the entrees that I attached photos of! The bread came out fresh and warm!! The outside of the place is deceiving but the inside is beautiful and classy. The food is a little on the expensive side but the portions are giant so it is definitely worth it! The clams were fresh and delicious, the pasta tasted very fresh and all our food came out hot! There was a full bar! And lastly my favorite thing that creates the best service, our waiter was constantly filling up our glasses of water!!! My friends and I will definitely be going back soon!

This place is the very very best! I have had Italian food on Arthur Ave in the Bronx, on Mulberry Street in Manhattan, North end of Boston and even in Florence, Italy. Adriana's is BETTER than all of them! Amazing service, extensive menu, excellent drinks and wine and food that will have you driving from NH to New Haven! Yup! we drive from NH for dinner at Adriana's! We plan the whole weekend around dinner! Knowing this place exists just makes life better!

The food at Adriana's is great. The portions are large and the service is great. It's a nice family style restaurant and no matter what I've tried I've never been disappointed. Not to mention there's always enough to take home.

Fun place (ask for Jaime) and great food in very large portions. It's a friendly, comfortable place to have a relaxing dinner. 2 thumbs up.

Try the cheese wheel! It was a great meal for two. Great atmosphere and great food. The portions are unbelievably huge. You will definitely be taking home leftovers.

Wow talk about a diamond in the rough. We started off with appetizers we had the meatballs we had calamari we had a caprice salad everything was delicious oh and don't forget the sausage with broccoli Raab. We then had some delicious wine called bonanza. For my entrée I had the salmon with white beans and spinach everything was so yummy!! This place was spot on. I can't wait to go back.
