Yelp
Very average Italian restaurant in a nice area with high prices.
My wife and I stopped here the other day to grab a quick bite to eat before heading out to an event in the area. We were craving some Italian food and thought this place looked nice. The inside is all brick and very classy. However, there was a large party inside, so we decided to sit outside.
The waiter greeted us and told us about the specials. He was a very nice waiter and was, along with the interior, the highlight of the meal. We both decided to get the one of the specials he mentioned (I got the short rib pasta and my wife got the fish). We also decided to get one of the wines he recommended. While the wine came out rather quickly, the food took a verrry long time to come out. I usually don't mind because it means the food is fresh, but 45 minutes for short rib pasta and fish is a bit much.
In terms of the quality of the food and drink, it was more miss than hit. The wine had a strange sour taste to it, but it was cheap and we didn't mind that much. My short rib pasta, when it finally came out, was a weird mixture of scalding hot and cold (we suspect thus was due to being microwaved). Aside from the temperature, it tasted alright, but wasn't very special. My wife's fish had a great crust to it (a common theme at many Orlando restaurants), but the fish itself was very average.
We finished our food and received the check. I couldn't believe that the specials were both about $35 apiece! While that isn't a very outrageous cost for Italian food in general, most of the menu items were $20-$30 and you would figure that the specials, which weren't actually very special, wouldn't be the most expensive items.
Overall, the restaurant has some decent characteristics, but the average food quality, long wait times, and high prices will cause us to look at other Italian restaurants for future dining.
