Super attentive staff! The salmon was dealing and the guacamole was amazingly fresh. The interior is beautiful and thankfully air conditioned to perfection, with how humid at was outside.

Came in with a group for brunch. They have bottomless drinks. Their margaritas can be strong. The food is delicious. I ordered their huevos rancheros and it was tasty. My friends ordered steak and eggs and they loved it. Their guac delicious. Service is okay. The wait even with reservations can be long. Huge turn off was how the bathroom smelled downstairs or the downstairs area. It was kind of gross seeing the kitchen door open, a guy dealing with tortillas, and the mens room right there… not the most sanitary thing

Pretty good! Really loud inside and seemed a little inconsistent with certain rules (telling some people they can’t seat them unless their entire party is here and letting others slowly trickle in), but the food was good! Bottomless for 90 minutes is $35 which is decent for that part of Manhattan imo. I got the chicken mojo sandwich and the prickly pear margarita and my friend got an egg white frittata and strawberry marg.

Dinner was great. We got marg pitchers and tacos all around but i had to go head and crush the enchiladas. Lighting there is perfectly dim which i need. Music not too loud either which is important

Agave is one of my go-to Mexican restaurants in West Village/Greenich. It’s usually decently easy to get a reservation, even with big groups if you call a few days ahead. The food is great. My favorite is the steak tacos. They are packed with steak and will fill you up. The margarita pitchers are a fan favorite as well. Overall good value and loads of seating inside.

We went here for brunch. The food was pretty good, although we didn't order anything super interesting. They do offer bottomless drinks for brunch, but we only did one marg. Noticing the attentiveness of some of the servers I'm not sure it would be worth the price. Lots of space if you're meeting up with friends.

Literally a hidden gem! Stopped in here for their endless margs and was floored! Not only were the Margs the most constantly above average margs, but the food was delish, service was exceptional and hospitality second to none. Atmosphere was superb and service amazing!

After coming back to Agave after many years of not being in NYC (since pre-pandemic), it proves to continue to be a great and enjoyable brunch spot. Daniel provided excellent service. Well worth the money! You really get what you pay for.

Fun brunch place but can definitely get loud as there are a ton of people celebrating birthday's here. My friend and I sat in their outdoor area as it was a nice spring day and really enjoyed a pitcher of strawberry margarita, steak nachos, and strawberry pancakes. The steak nachos were my favorite. Seasoned well with a good amount of toppings. It was delicious! Our sever was friendly and attentive and overall we had a great time!

Dinner review Beautiful space with tons of indoor and outdoor seating Went for dinner and the food was okay. The veggie empanadas were small but flavorful. Adobo Chicken Chilaquiles - chicken was tough and the flavor was subpar. The quesadilla was probably the best thing i ate. Service was good but they took one order incorrectly. They have a happy hour with half of drinks and apps and that's the only reason I would go back. The drinks are STRONG. One drink felt like it had the potency of 3. So if you want cheap strong drinks with below average food this is your place.

Food is good, drinks are small and taste good but not that strong, at least not the happy hour spicy margarita on the rocks. But I liked the spice. Burrito, chips and guac, fajitas were yummy. Fast service but not the most attentive when it comes to water refills or remembering things you've asked for. But the staff is nice. And they do trivia sometimes as well!

Love going to agave when I'm in the mood for margaritas. I tend to take most people who come from out of town to agave when they are here visiting. Friendly staff and the food always hits right. The drinks are strong, so just keep that in mind

The food was delicious. Came here for Happy hour on summer Fridays. Service was quick. Drinks was so refreshing.

Fun vibes, but definitely can be quite loud around weekend brunches. My friend and I loved the nachos! She got the spinach and mushroom quesadilla and I got a cheese quesadilla. The cheese quesadilla was a bit overpriced for something so simple but it was tasty. We both also really liked our margaritas. The servers were friendly and personable. Definitely excited to go back soon!

You don't feel like you're getting ripped off as blatantly as at Ofrenda across the street, but make no mistake, this is basic, bare-bones Mexican at a $20 cheapest plate charge. If you're me and need to order two plates it becomes absurd. Staff was lively, the space was much larger than it looked from the outside.

Don't go here. Traveled over an hour after making a reservation online. When I showed up, I was told the employees haven't been paid in two weeks and no one is working. Plan around this. Rather surprised this hasn't been mentioned in other reviews.

We stopped at this place for a quick lunch. The frozen drinks are amazing. They also have a great lunch special. Our server and bartender Jose was friendly and professional. Would definitely be back for sure!

Went to agave for cinco de mayo. Expected it to be busy, it was but menu items were lacking. Many beer options were not available. No modelo on draft in a Mexican restaurant? They also did not have pineapple flavor that was on the menu. I have been here many times and brought a few friends for cinco and it did not meet up to the Agave expectation.

Nevertheless I indulged in their current HH which has small bites and some of the bevs and premade, quality still decent. I've been here for brunch before and had a blast. Becky tried to "Bye Felicia" me in the restroom.. she got what was coming! HAPPY DRINKING!!!

We had a group of 9 stop in for a Saturday brunch reservation. When we were running a little late due to traffic, they were really receptive and worked with us. Once seated we took advantage of the $35 unlimited drinks. Initially we should we had to choose one type and stick with that for the whole 2 hours, but they let you switch between them which was really nice. Service was pretty quick and our server was on top of checking in with us, especially given our group size. For food; we started with the nachos and an order of guac which were both really good! For entrees, we got a couple chicken sandwiches, a couple salmon Benedict's, some steak tacos, steak quesadilla and some omelettes. All the food was pretty good, but I wouldn't say amazing. It was very good for what we were looking for and I have no complaints.

I made a reservation for 18 people here for my birthday brunch recently. My friends and I had a great time and we all liked the food, but it was nothing special. The French toast was the best thing we tried. It's adequate food for a brunch, and we left satisfied. Our server was so nice and hard working, but the staff up front is not friendly at all. We got there before our party, so we got a drink at the bar, and the bartender rolled his eyes at us at one point. It was very rude. The hostess wasn't too friendly either. Everyone else was great once we sat down though. The ambiance is very fun and they gave me a sombrero to take pictures with for my birthday. Overall, a fun experience, and we loved the bottomless margaritas! I would probably come back!

It could have been an easy 5 stars, but service was very subpar. Came here for brunch and luckily, weather was beautiful so we got to sit outside. Beware if you're sitting inside as they tried to sit us there first, but it was way too loud and the only way to talk to the person next to you is if you scream. Another beware: very young crowd spot, like I'm talking college reunion meet up crowd where everyone is standing around and outside drinking and you can barely pass through to use the bathroom. After waiting a good ten minutes for water, our waiter finally came to take our order. We had asked for chicken empanadas and spinach empanadas to be part of our appetizer and he told us that he wasn't sure if there were any chicken empanadas left but he would check and let us know. Plot twist, he never came back to let us know. Honestly, that was the last time he came to our table despite continuing to serve everyone else. So someone else brought us the spinach empanadas to our table and we were left to assume they ran out of the chicken ones. The owner was nice enough to check up on us when he noticed our table was looking empty for a bit and he brought over our margarita pitcher. The passion fruit margarita was really good and I highly recommend a pitcher for a group of 4+. It was definitely on the pricey side, but that's NY for ya. As for the food, my friend and I shared the chicken tacos and steak quesadilla. I will give credit where credit is due and must say, the food was really good and flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. I'm usually a bit skeptical with Mexican inspired brunch menus, but I was left impressed here. The guacamole and chips were also a hit. I think I would come back if I'm in the neighborhood and hopefully service gets better!

Absolutely terrible service. Drinks took forever, table was never cleared, and water was never refilled. The food was below average as well. Margs were good but that was it. Wouldn't come here again.

We came here for Sunday brunch with a very large group. Super awesome place!! Always the best spot for NYC signature events; Pride Parade, Halloween Parade, and large groups for parties. The food was great, and so was the service. I highly recommend this place.

Overall good spot Came here for brunch and had a great time Adorable little restaurant with really fun decor. They are always busy so make sure to make a reservation in advance especially if you have a big group! There is indoor/ outdoor seating and a nice big bar. We had reservations and still had to wait 10-15 mins. We started off with a bottomless pitcher! You can choose Margarita or Mimosas for your pitcher (we chose mimosas) and they really keep them coming! We chose family style for all our food to try and taste everything! Overall pretty good food! Some of it was very heavy and some was good. Guacamole and chips were really good! Loved how their guac was not chunky! This place is great for big groups, probably wouldn't come for a brunch for 2 people. Overall great place and cool experience!

I would come back just for the churros. Steak nachos were well seasoned. Service was acceptable. 2 waiters taking care of so many people, I applaud them. Very loud, hard to hear the person in front of you but I still enjoyed it.

Came here for bottomless brunch. It was actually a nice interior when you go downstairs...kind of into a cave of some sorts! The food is very much no typical brunch which I was excited for and there was options for bottomless margaritas (frozen too). It was a bit more expensive for bottomless but margaritas were worth it. Maybe not the passion fruit...but we felt lit. I do feel like service went downhill after the first two pitchers and it seemed like they weren't coming by to help us with more pitchers as we were a larger group (10) and continuously asking for more drinks (after having empty pitchers). The tacos were decent, nothing too out of the ordinary but I would want to try the other Mexican food on the menu.

Ah, what can I say about agave? Well the immediate relief from the harsh conditions that ensued throughout the day. Agave was the safe haven that we needed. A place of refuge, full of savory eats & a warm atmosphere. Truly a place to go with anyone. Friends, families and even enemies.... (their spicy marg is killer)

Had brunch here on a Saturday afternoon with a couple friends. We had a round of drinks at the front bar while we waited for our table. The hostesses were lovely and asked if we wanted a table outside, as it was mild for February, but we opted for inside main dining in the back. This was a total mistake! There were a crazy amount of large parties- one long table in the middle of the room had about 25 guys, a table next to them had about 18 people, another along the back wall had about 16 women, along with other groups of 6-8ppl. We were seated next to the group of guys but really almost every table was next to them since they took up so much room. The problem wasn't so much the size, but the sheer volume of noise added to the fact that bottomless drinks for 2hrs for $35 had the entire room pretty wasted. Pretty much every party was celebrating a birthday so there was a lot of birthday singing and birthday shots. The room was full of 20-30 somethings and we were in our mid 50's to 60's, so just not for us. We had to scream at each other just to have a conversation. Food & drinks were good, but pretty hard to screw up huevos rancheros. I'm sure it is not like this for lunches or dinners, so I'd still consider going back then. When we left, we saw that the outside had parties of 2-4ppl and was quite civilized.

I went on Easter and it was surprisingly busy. The food was good like always and the drinks were strong. The seating options for me weren't the greatest which was by the doorway which I wasn't a fan off. This is a pricy restaurant and they have changed!! Food is separate from the original unlimited 2 hour drinks and entree special. Now it's about $35 for drinks and you choose to order an entree which is still fine. I spent overall about $100 for my meal and drinks.

A solid spot for brunch! Nothing incredible in terms of the food, but the bottomless brunch is fun and it's a great spot to meet a group. The egg white frittata was pretty darn good, to be honest. Surprisingly so for a place known for their bottomless brunch. The margarita was my favorite drink. The waiters were very nice.

We came in for weekend brunch and were sat outside. The restaurant was not too busy. We did the bottomless brunch. There were lots of margarita flavors to choose from. Overall, the food was just okay, and it was a bit pricey even for New York. Service was just okay. - Fiesta burrito (3/5): good portion size, and lots of salsa which I love. Overall, the burrito was good but not amazing. Good flavors, cooked well, but just tasted like something was missing - Traditional eggs Benedict (3/5): pretty basic, good overall. The home fries though seemed undercooked and not very flavorful

Charming little restaurant! The service was amazing. Our server was incredibly friendly and accommodating and the entirety of our brunch was a vibe. The only reason I won't give it 5 stars is because I felt like the portions were a bit small. Apart from that, the food was great and the drinks hit hard. Would recommend if you're looking for an emphasis on the "boozy" in boozy brunch!

Not the best food at all but if you want to come for a fun time with drinks with a group of people then this is the place to go. You aren't going to get top quality food here.

I would say this place is good for a large group or if you want to do the $35 bottomless drinks for brunch (food is not included in the price). But you probably need to drink a lot to get your money worth imo. The food came out very quickly and I would give it 3.5/5 because the eggs weren't runny at all and it could use a bit more flavor in the sauce, dryer than the average eggs Benedict you would eat. We all got one drink (not the bottomless option) and my prickly pear margarita was very meh....

When brunch is well underway, every seat is occupied, and servers are shuffling to and fro with platters of food and unlimited pitchers of mimosas, it's easy to overlook that the space has seen better days. When you're there to load up on eggs benedict and margaritas, judging the quality and flavors of the dishes may not be top of mind. Try visiting at a quieter period and it may have a sobering effect on you. When I visited recently on a quiet afternoon for a happy hour drink and light bites, I logged Agave as one of the many Mexican restaurants in New York serving very middling fare. I've dined here a few times over the years, and tried the corn crusted calamari, guacamole, and shrimp ceviche along with my margarita on my most recent visit and all the food was okay. I resented the prices we were paying for not so memorable food but it's also to be expected in this prime part of the West Village. The food took a while and the place smelled of cleaning product. If bottomless brunch is your idea of fun though, Agave will check some boxes.

I would definitely come back for happy hour but not for dinner. I think it's great to have pitchers of margaritas and I would be content with that and some guac. But, my experience for dinner wasn't super great. Service was so slow. The check took forever. Totally understand when a restaurant is busy but overall service was just meh. I got the chicken tinga tacos, they were okay, didn't love them. I especially didn't like biting into two bones!! My friend liked the burger and other friend said the carne tacos were pretty good. I thought it was a little pricey but that's nyc.

Hit the spot! We were wandering today, walking from Lower East Side to West Village, resting in the shaded area of the pier off Christopher St, on the Hudson, trying to decide where to go for dinner. Decided we wanted Mexican food, but having very recently had covid we definitely wanted to eat outside. So we wandered back "inland," but the place we had chosen was on the side of the street in the setting sun - hot, uncomfortable. Agave was right across the street so off we went, and we're glad we landed here! At 5:30, we were told the kitchen wasn't ready for dinner yet but we could get drinks and appetizers. Fine. We each had a Corona Light (yeah, big bar tab people we are not!) and for a change I refused to order the guac and chips. Husband reluctantly went along with my choice for us to share, their Grilled Gulf Shrimp salad. It was very good! Atop a bed of greens, with lots and lots of avocado chunks, were 3 big grilled shrimp, plus a few grapefruit sections, in a minimal amount of chili lime dressing. Perfect, something different from our usual Mexican restaurant order, and really good. This took time to come out of the kitchen, and by the time we ate it, it was now 6:30 and they were set up in the kitchen for dinner. Each of us chose the sizzling fajitas with chicken. Again this took some time but worth the wait. Artfully arranged slices of perfectly tender and seasoned grilled chicken were over a ton of fresh grilled veggies: red, green, & yellow bell pepper slices; onion wedges; and fresh tomato chunks, all on an oblong cast iron pan and when it came to the table the pans were indeed sizzling! Then we each got a big square plate with a pile of yellow rice, 4 little folded flour tortillas, and some guac and pico de gallo with a dollop of sour cream on top. Finally they also brought out 3 hot sauces: green habanero, regular Tabasco, and Mexican Cholula hot sauce, which is the one I generously sprinkled on my chicken and veggies before I made my fajitas. It was the meal that more than met expectations, and the service was definitely not rushed. Granted, the drinks menu (especially the tequila menu!) is more ample than the food menu, and we're just not in that heavy drinking demographic, but we really did like everything we had!

What a great spot for brunch. I made reservations two days before I was able to get a spot but I would definitely suggest getting one earlier than that. Their menu has so many good brunch options, it was difficult to pick one but I ended up getting the egg white frittata. It was delicious and hearty. I of course also got the bottomless Mimosa's. $35 for 1.5 hours is pretty up there in my opinion however, I never needed to wait with an empty glass so I definitely took advantage of it. The vibe is very nice. Indoor looks gorgeous with dimly lit tables. There's two outside sections, one by the street that is very nicely decorated and one canopy area flush to the restaurant. I think all the options are great. Service was very good, my waitress was very kind and attentive. It's a good time, check this place out

George was the best waiter we've ever had in NY. The steak quesadillas were great and you need the guac appetizer. Bottomless is king here. If you don't get George tough luck

We came for brunch on a saturday afternoon. We both got endless brunch drinks (choose between endless mimosa, margarita, red/white sangria). The drinks were surprisingly strong, to our pleasant surprise! But not overly alcoholic. We are avid bottomless drinks goers so always on the lookout for good, strong brunch drinks. The glasses they gave were huge too, which made up for not checking up on us as often. 5/5 for the drinks As for the food, it's pretty typical mexican food. Overall pretty standard and decent, but nothing outstanding. They were decently portioned too so in the end we were more than full after the food and drinks.

I was invited to a boozy brunch here for the pride parade by one of my friends. Overall, it was underwhelming. The drinks were ok and the service terrible. I can totally understand why (Pride) but it would've been nice for our waitress to come around a little more often. It was also disappointing that they didn't have other Margarita flavors available. They told us they only had the regular Margaritas. The food took a long time to come out and it was just ok. Nothing special. The spotty service was made worst when they finally brought us a pitcher only to kick us out of our table less than 10 minutes later and provided cups so we can take the drinks. I would give it another shot when it is not pride weekend.

I came here for bottomless brunch ($35 for 1.5 hours) with some friends. They provide pitchers of margaritas, which were really strong compared to other margs I've had but not sure if we asked for less sugar or not) so definitely will get you drunk fast haha. As for my entree, I ordered the three egg omelette with chorizo which was around $20. The portion was pretty big. My only complaint is that I wish the onions were cut a bit smaller because they were quite chunky within the omelette. Otherwise, the atmosphere was super fun - it seemed like a lot of people were trying to get drunk during bottomless as well. The service was a bit slow at times but otherwise a great spot to get drunk on the weekend!

As someone who used to work in a restaurant I don't usually complain about service but this was some of the worst service I've ever had. Waiter brought out and charged us for appetizers that we never ordered for some reason. But the real issue was that they advertise 90 minute bottomless brunch but will cut you short about 30 minutes without warning. When we brought this up to them the manager started bitching at us. This place is also incredibly expensive even for Manhattan. There are plenty of other bottomless brunch places that are cheaper and give a better experience such as Tara Rose, Poco, or Carroll Place (which is around the corner). I would definitely avoid this place and go to one of those for an enjoyable brunch.

First off let's start by saying that we waited 30 mins to be seated after we arrived for our reservation time. We were seated and did the bottomless 2 hours brunch and was was being rushed out before our time was even up. One guy had told us that we had 15 mins left and before 5 mins was up another man told us we needed to start getting ready to close out in 5. The food however was good we did the guacamole and some of my friends got the strawberry pancakes, the steak and eggs and i got the chicken sandwich which i 100% recommend. Wouldn't come here again though.

I came here for a friend's birthday brunch. I got bottomless brunch mimosa and the southwestern eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict were super yummy and filling! The mimosa was good and the server kept refilling my glass. He was also super nice and attentive.

Went for tacos and guacamole here. Was pretty good. Cute outdoor space in the heart of west village. Good Mexican place and normal (not huge) portions

Overall, the food and drinks were very average. Not bad but nothing special. Service was good but they did mess up our order. The actual restaurant itself is cute.

Agave 4/29/23, 2:46pm Table: 44, Check 7271 I had a very disappointing experience at Agave. I reserved a private room for 25 people for my birthday celebration and put down a deposit of $250 to ensure it would be available more than two weeks in advance. The day before the reservation, I called to confirm and was told that my reservation had been noted. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, my party was made to wait for 20 minutes in the small waiting area, only to find out that we would be seated in the general area, directly outside the private room we had reserved. Despite trying to speak to the host, waiters, and the manager, the issue was not resolved satisfactorily. The waiters just kept repeating that it was already booked and offering no solutions. The manager simply said, "oops, we double booked," and promised a 10% discount that was not applied to the final bill (would have been $150 on the $1500 bill). To make matters worse, the manager was nowhere to be found when it was time to pay the bill to help correct the missing discount. I was lucky enough to have my deposit netted against the total bill (which is a given). The overall experience was very disappointing. Having worked in food service in high school, I understand that things can be tense, and I am extremely respectful in my interactions, however, I was disappointed at how little was done to try to rectify the situation. My experience at Agave was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in the city, and I feel that the way I was treated was fundamentally unethical. I would not recommend this establishment based on my experience.

Great group bottomless brunch spot! We had made a reservation which I'd highly recommend since this is a popular spot. Drinks are strong and the food is great! They have nice outdoor/indoor dining area that shields you from the wind/rain. No heating lamps but we were comfortable without our coats in sweaters. Brunch menu is shorter than usual because of the pandemic (see pictures) but everything was still delicious. I ordered the avocado tomato salad with salmon ($18) which was great! We also got the guacamole ($14) for the table and the server was nice enough to bring us additional chips while we waited for our food. A couple of my friends got omelets and another got the mushroom quesadilla which was tasty! All 6 of us had the bottomless brunch option which was $30 for 1.5 hours, so they brought out pitchers of margarita and mimosas. Overall, this was my second time here and it was as great as the first! Check it out with your brunch crew!

Bottomless brunch is a pretty decent deal at $35 for 1.5 hours and the drinks are strong. The food is just OK. You really only come here if you're going to do bottomless otherwise there are many other places to go for food. Service is good and vibes are fun.

Came here for brunch. Let me start of by saying Agave offers bottomless MARGARITAS (frozen and on the rocks)! That's not something many places offer. For my entree I had the chicken quesadilla which was VERY good. I also ordered calamari for an appetizer which was a HIT. It was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was really sweet and patient. This is a nice date night place as well. I personally do not like guacamole but everyone in my party said it was the BEST they ever had. So if you're a guac person, make sure you try it out! Ladies, if you are wearing heels be careful on the way to the restroom. There are two landings of steps and they are a little steep. The restroom itself is small but they definitely keep it clean. I would come back! As previously mentioned...they have BOTTOMLESS margaritas! They also have bottomless sangria and mimosas as well.
