"The homey, bright yellow exterior of the restaurant sets the stage for what you’ll discover inside — joy delivered through food and drink. Owner Victor Pereira teamed up with partners Magda León and Natalia Neves to celebrate their upbringings in Portugal, Guatemala, and the Azores through the menu and León’s art, which is prominently featured on walls. Options on the tapas-style menu include baked goat cheese in a tomato garlic sauce; tacos stuffed with fillings like pork chorizo and nopales (cactus); tinned fish; and littlenecks steamed with white wine and cilantro. Pair the feast with a caipirinha, glass of Azorean red wine, or a flight of the restaurant’s namesake Portuguese brandy." - Erika Adams, Jenna Pelletier

This is a place where you can't just walk in and sit at the bar unfortunately. All the bar seating is by reservation only, along with the rest of the restaurant. They have built up a good rep so much so that reservations are booked usually 2 weeks out so plan in advance. With this popularity, I finally was able to get in to try it. The drinks looked great and were well crafted. The food is tapas style and I will say it is reasonably priced for the portions that you get. Each one had plenty for our table of 4. The food was just good. We didn't make it to the back side of the menu, so I'm rating this on what we had and there will be a follow up the next time around.

Aguardente is a hidden gem that delivers an authentic Portuguese dining experience with a modern flair. Cozy yet vibrant, making it a great spot for an intimate dinner or a lively night out with friends. The menu features a variety of traditional Portuguese dishes with a contemporary twist. The seafood offerings are particularly outstanding, perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Their signature cocktails or delicious! The service is attentive and friendly, with staff happy to guide you through the menu or recommend pairings. Highly recommended.

Hidden gem in providence! Perfect for date night! Such authentic and fresh tasting food. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable! Ask questions! We’ve had the farmers cheese, the octopus, the canned seafoods, the beans and nothing has been disappointing. Even the drinks and desserts are great. The parking lot is super small and fits maybe 3 cars uncomfortably but there is tons of free street parking elsewhere

So much more delicious than I expected!! I felt like the food really hit the spot. The goat cheese and lamb chops were delish. The shrimp paella was just ok. Relatively inexpensive!

Google
Absolutely delicious food & drinks! My favorite was the Queijo de Cabra! So delicious! Our server was so knowledgeable and made great recommendations! We’re already planning our next time to come in!

The service was great. The drinks were also great! I will be back!!

They nail everything that a restaurant their size can hope for. The staff is helpful with their food and drink suggestions, something sorely lacking from staff at other spots. Service is swift and organized. The grilled octopus is magnificent. It's cooked so well that it's not rubber but a superbly crafted resistance. The flavor plays well with the peppers served with it. The wine selection is also robust. Don't be afraid to experiment. The atmosphere is also excellent. The light design and bar are an amazing feature but the only small nitpick is that the space is a bit small. This doesn't work against it per se, but it can make traversing to the bathroom a little awkward but that's really a small nitpick and nothing more. Overall the experience was superlative. Tell your friends! If you hate a good time, tell your enemies.

Yelp
Here's what you're going to do: 1) Make a reservation between 4-6pm on any weekday to feast on their taco & margarita deal ($3 tacos and $15 margarita pitcher that can serve 3-4 people) 2) Try to get a table on the patio (don't worry, it's enclosed & heated & brightly lit!) to escape the noisy interior of the restaurant 3) Order 2-3 rounds of tacos & tapas and be sure you try the Plantain Cups & giant, stuffed avocado 4) Finish off your meal by signing their guest book and leaving some drawings of donkeys 5) Plan on coming back with more friends and a big appetite; this is a restaurant you'll want to try on repeat! Thank you to our kind server (Riley, I think) for helping us have a magical, celebratory evening!

Yelp
This was my first time at Aguardente. The inside area is pretty small, with a lot of small tables with chairs on one side and a built in bench on the other. There is also bar seating and an area lifted with a little more table seating. The inside decor is very fun though. There is additional seating outside, which looks really nice for warmer months. We had the paella and meatballs. The flavor of the meatballs and sauce was really excellent, and just a little spicy. We did need to ask for bread to soak up the sauce though. The paella was different than others I've had before, without the crunchy rice. They also have a few mocktail choices, which is always nice.

Yelp
We were looking for a special spot to celebrate our five year anniversary AND our first date night out after having a baby so we wanted somewhere special and Aguardente was perfect. I love trying a variety of different foods so the tapas style was perfect. We started out with a few but ordered more as we went and the servers were very accommodating and helpful. We particularly liked the queijo fresco but enjoyed our other tapas as well. We finished off our meal with some tasty pateis de nata. They also had a variety of mocktail options which I greatly appreciated. I was able to have a special occasion drink without any alcohol! As others mentioned I definitely recommend a reservation. We made ours on the later side for a Saturday night so ended up at the bar, but there are lots of options that are well described when you book online. The interior was cute but I would definitely love to sit outside next time if we reserve a little further in advance!

Yelp
When friends come to visit from out of town & we want to go out for dinner, Aguardente is usually on my list of places to go. I love tapas-style eating with friends - More to try & more to share. Aguardente has a plethora of seafood options & even a tinned fish section of their menu. If you're not a seafood lover, you'll still have plenty of things to choose from, but you might miss out on some of their most popular dishes - like their seafood paella. One of my favorite items on the menu is their Queijo de Cabra - a tomato saucy, spicy, baked goat cheese goodness that you can dip bread or vegetables into. My only qualms about the food is that some of the dishes I've ordered in the past have been salted to the heavens. A big carafe of ice water is necessary for a meal at Aguardente, & if the servers are too busy to fill up your carafe (which happens frequently) you may feel like you're going to pass away for a little bit. But you'll persevere. I really prefer sitting outside at Aguardente since it's SO loud inside. The outside patio is magical! It's like a little enchanted garden, & if you're lucky enough to snag one of the couches, it feels like you're in your own little world. Oh - Make a reservation. Otherwise you might be staring down the barrel of an hour+ wait.

Yelp
Cozy Portugese nook offering flavorful bites and tapas We picked out more dishes than I can name, but there were definitely some notable highlights. Lamb lollipops-- tender with such a great crust; they practically fell off the bone. Since we had a larger party, we ordered two dishes so that everyone could have a lollipop, but it would have been even better if we'd had a plate to ourselves! Mussels--doused in a spicy tomato sauce: this plate of mussels had us licking every drop of garlicky goodness off those plates. The sauce made for the perfect vehicle to soak our slices of bread in. Pulpo-- perfectly cooked, sauteed with tons of onions and colorful bell peppers Huitlacoche-- I was surprised to find this delicacy in Providence. I can't recall any other time I've seen it on a menu, so we had to go for it. It's a fungus that grows off of corn. Back when the Aztecs were around, it was presumed to be prized occurrence because it signified a bountiful harvest even if it destroyed the ears of corn it feeds off of. Here, the huitlacoche (corn smut) was cooked with onions and had a nice chewy texture. I didn't notice much smokiness and I can't say I love it, but it was an interesting culinary adventure to experience.

Yelp
Such a great experience! The decor was beautiful, inside and outside. The service was so welcoming and kind. And the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I really liked the ambiance of this restaurant. It's small and intimate. My friends and I shared their stuffed avocado, plantains, Spanish meatballs, and farm cheese bread dish. The stuffed avocado was super creamy and a little too cheesy. I would have liked it if there was more chorizo or a friend egg to go with it. The plantains were typical, and the meatballs were pretty fine too.

Areina C.

Yelp
Food service and ambiance are all wonderful. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon closer to 3pm, sat at the bar, ate a couple of appys, had some tacos, drinks were delicious! I noticed that there are no mainstream alcohols here, everything is Portuguese or Mexican. The latin/hispanic vibes are all over this place and the bartenders were lovely and SO smart about their potions. The food is great especially the aguacate rellenos, that was probably my favorite dish of the whole day. Will be back to try more of the menu and cocktails of course. Note- food was almost TAPAS, its small portions.

Hugo M.

Yelp
Wonderful food, service and ambience along with great prices. I can't wait to return!

Kel S.

Yelp
We love the plantains here - they are number one. The cocktails are also outstanding. Some of the food has been hit or miss but overall we love the vibe indoors and out, and I've been here several times.

Yelp
We stopped in here while we were in town to grab a drink. It's a smaller space but we were lucky to grab a spot at the bar. VERY clean and such a cool aesthetic. We got the margarita flight which was fantastic, great flavor pairings and I loved that we got to try a little bit of everything instead of having to pick one drink. We wanted to see more of the city so walked out after this but the menu looked awesome and definitely a cool spot for appetizers and drinks.

Yelp
Decided to stop by for a date luncheon not knowing if there would be an opening available as they do get busy with reservations and it was Valentine's Day Week. But luckily there was room on the patio. The outdoor patio is heated and extremely cozy. Comfortable chairs, and blankets available. Plants make it seem like you are on vacation. They specialize in small shareable plates and snacks which make it easy for sharing. Ordered cheese dip with bread and Spanish meatballs to start. Decided to go with the cactus tacos which was unique and just had to try. Espresso martinis and tres leches cake to finish the evening. Everything was delicious and delivered to the table in such a fast manner. Staff was friendly and helpful

Yelp
We have lived in Providence for over five years but only recently went to Spanish and Portuguese tapas restaurants. (I can't believe that it took so long as we eat out regularly.) This on was the fourth in a couple of months. The place is lively and nicely designed with a good vibe. We started with two Margaritas and shared four dishes which worked out very well. The tacos nopal, aguacate relleno, costeletas borrego and batatas fritas were all delicious. In spite of being full we ordered a pastel de nata for dessert. And ended with another drink and an espresso. Our server, Kelly, was cheerful and attentive. The check was comparable to the other tapas we had visited. We enjoyed all of them and plan to return again soon.

Yelp
Are you looking for a dining experience that has excellent food and a great atmosphere? Don't look any further! Aguardente is a GREAT place for date night or groups to get together. I would recommend to always make a reservation ahead of time! I've been here twice and thankfully always had a reservation. I've seen groups of people get turned away because the restaurant was fully booked. It is very easy to use Resy for reservations. There are different tables you can choose and they are explained on Resy - the bar, indoor table, indoor nook, loft, patio nook, or patio table. Bar has tall seats at an oversized bar; Indoor Table has traditional dining table with one bench seat and one chair seat; Indoor Nook has comfy lounge chairs with side tables and a small coffee table; Loft has cozy lounge chairs and couch with side and coffee tables; Patio Nook has large outdoor seats and side tables surrounded by foliage; and Patio Table has traditional dining table and chairs under glowing pergola. Both times I've reserved the indoor table. For drinks, I have tried the Hibisco-rita-Hibiscus tea margarita with Aguardente and a sugared rim and the Sintra Sangria Summer White which has Aguardente, Ginja, muddled pineapple, orange and lime. Both were very good. For tapas, I've ordered a couple of different items and everything is delicious. The tapas that make me wanting more is the Aguacate Relleno, the Pasteis de Bacalhau, and the Plato de Huitlacoche. You must get the Aguacate Relleno which is Avocado with pan fried chorizo and melted Oaxaca cheese topped with arugula and cilantro crema. Everything about this dish is delicious and AMAZING! The avocado is fresh and holds all the other components. The Pasteis de Bacalhau is Codfish Fritter served with creamy cilantro. Every bite of the fritter and the cilantro sauce is flavorsome. The Plato de Huitlacoche is a mix of different mushrooms. This dish is really good and a nice green to balance the other flavors. Other dishes I've had is the Seafood Paella - A Portuguese take on paella with little necks, shrimp, mussels, squid, and paprika; Almondegas - Traditional Spanish Meatballs with chouriço, sautéed in garlic and onions; Prosciutto - Served with crostini, roasted red peppers marinated in smoked paprika, garlic and olive oil & a taste of Quesijaria De S. Romao Seia cheese; Grilled Chouriço, Alheira & Morcela - Three different traditional Portuguese grilled sausages: meat sausage, bread sausage, and blood sausage. This is a great dish to try the different types of grilled sausages if you have never tried it before. It is not dry and flavored really well. For desserts, I've had their Tres Leches Cake and Pastel de Nata. The Tres Leches Cake is authentically prepared, moist cake with hints of vanilla, topped with a hibiscus drizzle. The Pastel de Nata is a traditional crispy pastry filled with custard, served warm. Both of these were very good. Aguardente opened its doors near the end of 2021 and I hope it'll be here for a long time. Service is always wonderful. You will not be hungry after. I am looking forward to the next time I can come visit.

Yelp
Delicious and affordable Portuguese food! Overall, such a great time. Their interior and patio are beautiful, their food was yummy, and the service was great! My friends and I got their most popular item, the seafood paella ($20) as well as their queijo fresca ($10) & tula fries ($6). My personal favorite was the queijo fresca! It came with portuguese corn bread which was so good, i've never had anything like it before! The seafood paella wasn't the best paella i've had, but it was flavorful and well seasoned. Plus for the price you can't beat it! Overall, if I was in the area again, I would stop by!

Yelp
What awesome luck coming across this place. My s/o and I were strolling around providence after hitting up Feed The Cheeks and found this hidden gem. Actually, I smelled the amazingness before even knowing the place was there! I looked at my s/o, exclaimed how awesome that smelled and we should find it. It looks so quaint from the outside, I wasn't even sure it was a restaurant. Went inside and was approached immediately by a lovely woman. I mentioned we were just snooping around providence and weren't dressed for dining (it looked business casual based on what others were wearing). She told us our attire was completely fine, provided some info on their establishment and mentioned we could just chill to check out what they offer if interested. We ended up sitting on their balcony since it was empty. Super comfy. Waitress brought over water, glasses and a delightful hello before I even got my jacket off. We both decided, heck, lets share some bits. We got their special nachos of the day (totally demolished before I realized I should probably be taking pics), some cod fritters and their Pastel de Nata. Everything was brought out efficiently and very delicious. My s/o also got a beer which he very much enjoyed. We're both huge fans of tapas and have been looking to try new types of cuisine. This was a fantastic visit and both of us can't wait to go back again.

Yelp
What a fun place! Highly recommend. My husband was in the Peace Corps about 40 years ago & any opportunity for a get together with others from that time is very welcome. Meeting at Aguardente in Providence was wonderful. I am from just outside of Hartford,CT, which really doesn't compare to Providence - a vibrant, fun, great restaurant destination. (Ok, I admit there are some wonderful places in Hartford/Connecticut that I love) On street parking ( there is a very small lot in front that seems reserved for 'special$$$' cars vs my Chevy Equinox). The restaurant is small (need a reservation), though there is some outdoor seating that doesn't need reservations . Inside, there is a bar & some small tables. There didn't seem to be a place for a larger party (8+) to dine together though. Everyone working there was really nice. Very friendly & good service. The decor was great - fun. Our group of 5 was seated up in a balcony with a couch, chairs & a table that was constantly covered with delicious Tapas. We tried many things - my favorite was the nachos (served only Wednesdays & Thursdays). Olives, plantain fries, mussels, paella, octopus salad ( which everyone said was delicious - I declined to try). And the drinks! Everyone tried different ones, but we couldn't try them all - so we will have to go back. My 'Wake the Dead' was a very good spicy margarita.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! I love how you can reserve nook instead of a table. There is also a full bar, and weather permitting, patio seating. For a cocktail, I had the Sol de Abacaxi, with Aguardente, because, Aguardente. It was a little too sweet for my taste, but I think others would enjoy. My favorite tapa was the Queijo de Cabra, a delectable goat cheese, served warm with tomato and garlic sauce and several slices of bread. I could have eaten the whole thing myself, it was so good. We also sampled the cod croquettes, which were okay, but could have been more moist inside. Additionally, we sampled the grilled sausages. I especially enjoyed the blood sausage, which is really similar to Puerto Rican morcilla. I also had a glass of one of their red wines, which was a nice pour. We finished off the meal with flan for me and tres leches cake for my friend. I found the flan a little harder in consistency than at other places but my friend really enjoyed her cake. All in all, I would totally return here primarily for the ambience, goat cheese tapa and the nice selection of red wines. I also appreciated that the tapas were decently sized portions. Note they have a small parking lot but it was completely full, even when we arrived for a 5:30 reservation. Plan to park on the street.

Sandy T.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Very cute restaurant with a nice outdoor tent that has seating. Staff was super friendly. The food was definitely very flavorful. The shrimp was big and meaty. The paella was good i just wish it was less wet and more crispy bottom. The plantain were good. The octopus was very tender. I would definitely recommend this place!

Maryssa M.

Yelp
Great ambiance- sat out in the nook area on the heated patio! Friendly service and delicious food. I didn't get a picture of the little necks (Amêijoas à Portuguesa) but they were delicious! Great place for drinks and tapas style sharing food...would definitely love to come back and try some of the other dishes- great place for special or romantic occasions! *If it's a weekend, I would try to get a reservation although they do accept walk-ins and we got lucky, the place was packed!

Robert H.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic dinner out. I had been meaning to try Aguardente for a while and it was well with the wait. The decor and ambiance inside transports you, and the service is really warm. Great cocktails, we tried a lot of the plates and everything was good. My favorite involved a whole Avacado, chorizo, Oaxaca cheese. So good!

JJ W.

Yelp
Food and drinks are pretty good. There's a weird phenomenon in this town where restaurants close long before posted, says they close at 11:30 but everyone left by like 10:30. Not sure what's wrong with this town but most places here are like that so don't plan on a late night anywhere

Rebecca B.

Yelp
I visited Aguardente on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty full. It's a small, but cozy space. I liked how there was a lot of variety in tapas options. My friend and I ordered the Pasteis de Bacalhau (DELICIOUS.), the Batatas Fritas, (good dipping sauce, the Almondegas (spicy but flavorful), the Tula Fries, (fried plantains) and the Aguacate Relleno. Everything we ordered was good. No complaints. Very flavorful and filling. I love how they also have Curated Tin options, so you can try different tinned fish. Definitely good to try multiple tapas and enjoy a nice cocktail at Aguardente. I would definitely return for a small meal with a friend.

Ambur G.

Yelp
Ate here for a friends birthday and it was so good! Def a great atmosphere and unique food choices. We tried so many great things and just shared! Drinks are awesome and venue is IG photo worthy

Alchemist K.

Yelp
Walking into this place, you immediately feel transported. The decor and murals offer a rustic, paradise-esque vibe while the food and drinks complete the experience! I ordered quite a bit of food and most enjoyed the empanadas and plantain tula fries(in true K fashion, unpictured because i ate it all..). The drinks were good too! The caipirinha was nicely balanced and definitely got me a lil buzzed! The espresso flight was fun and picture worthy! Overall, a good experience and i will certainly return, next time on the patio!

Tootie M.

Yelp
It was a delicious date night. We enjoyed everything we tried. The cocktails are very fresh and I like that they use homemade purées. Service was fast and attentive. I highly recommend.

Nick C.

Yelp
2nd time here and I love the atmosphere. Very warm setting with great and affordable drinks. I grabbed their cheapest Aguardente neat which was called "Marcolino Sebo." ($7) It was insanely smooth with fruity notes. I can only image how good their other liquors are. Then I had their "Wake the Dead" cocktail ($12). It was a spicy drink with jalapeño and I've never had a drink that tasted like this before. Little kick, sweet and refreshing. When I came here about a year ago, I really enjoyed their Fig Martini and Aguardente Manhattan. Can't wait to come again to try more drinks and some food.

Amy P.

Yelp
Food is consistently delicious and fresh. Drinks are top quality, although on the petite size. The pace of service is severely impacted/limited by small kitchen, unfortunately. On our last visit the last of our dishes was served within minutes of our server telling us it was time to vacate table (we had 90 minute reservation, which was well communicated, and next patrons were waiting for table). It was a bit frustrating, honestly. I keep coming back for the food, though! So delish.

Cathy Z.

Yelp
Really great tapas restaurant! I've been here 3 times and had a great experience every time! I was a bit apprehensive because tapas doesn't tend to have a ton of vegetarian/vegan options, but Aguardente has plenty of options for everyone! The ambiance is funky enough that you could come here for a fun date but cozy enough that you could come here with family. There is a cool blend of Portuguese and Central American cuisine on the menu. I love the huitlacoche plate, frijol dip, and tula plantain fries. I usually don't like sweet plantains but these are great! The plantain cups are filled with delicious seasonal fresh veggies. Things I've enjoyed slightly less have been the marinated olives (we were served green olives instead of black olives, and the marinade wasn't too exciting) and rellenitos (smaller portion than I expected), but even the misses are consistently good. The drinks are really tasty too. I haven't sampled the namesake alcoholic drinks, but the hibiscus soda and virgin mojito with macerated berries were both amazing. The service has been consistently excellent. I recommend making a reservation if you can, but they are also a little bit less busy now that they've been open for a while so you could probably walk in outside of peak times. If you make a reservation online you can also choose from the many available seating areas (the outdoor patio is lovely!). The story behind the restaurant is really heartwarming as well; it was founded by a group of 3 immigrants from the Portugal / the Azores and Guatemala.

Leah S.

Yelp
Firstly, what a cute place, everything is gorgeous from the tiles behind the bar, to the loft sitting area and outside space. Even the bathroom with its shrine wall is interesting. The servers, bar tenders and host were all very knowledgeable and helpful. This was a zero snark zone! I can't stop gushing about the cocktail I had. It was called a Majorca something and it had strawberries, guava and whiskey. I wish I could remember the name of the bar tender that made it, she had long dark hair. We also ordered the margarita trio, strawberry, cucumber and pineapple cilantro. The strawberry was good, the others ok. The small glasses had rims literally caked in salt which overpowered the cocktails. After we wiped most of that off, they were better. My partner had the empanadas that were great. We also shared the baked goats cheese with tomatoes, and I had a tin (mackerel pate with pickles, salt and bread) all really good. I wish there were more grilled fish dishes, squid dominated the seafoods. The cod fritters were cooked in the same oil as meat products, which was limiting for pescatarians. Next time we go, I'll make a reservation at a table. Do it early as they fill up fast!

Yelp
I just wanted to give a shout out to your whole team after an exceptional dining experience that I shared with my husband at your bar last weekend.  I have been wanting to try your restaurant for ages, but in the past when I have tried to secure a reservation, I haven't had luck (and now I can absolutely see why!) but on Sunday evening when presented with a last minute date night, you had space at the bar and my husband and I were able to join you for an early dinner.  The vibe upon entering was fantastic and we were immediately welcomed and seated at the bar.  Chris quickly introduced himself and the rest of the bar team as we sat and gave us time to settle in.  We ordered cocktails and waited for them as we finalized our selections for dinner.  Cocktails were delivered and our order was taken- everything was seamless and timing was perfect.   As a first time diner, I often take in the conversations and decor around me and I was simply blown away by your team's ability to welcome each and every guest who walked through the door with a warm greeting. My husband and I both have hospitality backgrounds and it's something that so many restaurants do not understand the value of- I couldn't stop commenting to my husband about how I haven't felt this "taken care of" in years.  The warmth and welcome that your team leads with is untouchable.  I don't know how many restaurants lead with "Welcome in," upon arrival but often the words lack sincerity and often come off as cold to me.  Words alone do not exude hospitality in my mind and your team nails it!  Our plates were divine and we cannot wait to come back to experience more of the menu when we can find the time for another date night. We had the clams, prawns, tinned tuna, potatoes and octopus.  Thank you tremendously for the hospitality and for giving me something to smile about all week.

Yelp
Been wanting to try Aguardente for a while and happy i finally did! Made reservations online, highly recommend that since they can fill up quickly! No parking lot but there was enough street parking. Went for lunch and was greeted right away. Sat in the back patio; when making reservations there were lots of options of different seating. I chose patio nook, which was cute but would be more if there to lounge, have drinks (the tables are lower, compared it to sitting in ur living room instead of dining room). Indoor options also include nook, table or bar. Our server was super nice and was ok moving us to a table. The food was great! I didn't order a drink but my bff had a caipirinha, loved it and ordered a second! For food we shared a goat cheese and bread app plus fried plantain plate. For entree i had the octopus and she had seafood paella. The goat cheese was so creamy, the bread warm and crunchy crust! Perfection! The octopus was good but didn't come with anything on side, or any bread (would have gone great with the olive oil on it). Overall we loved it; the patio area was super cute and inside had a chill vibe. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
I found Aguardente through their Instagram page. I'm a fan of tapas and seeing that this is the Portuguese version piqued my interest even more. I visited on a Sunday with friends who've never had tapas before and very rarely, Portuguese fare. The service was great. The drinks looked amazing--rubber necking others' as I we opted for no alcohol brunch. Love the menu selections and went just a tad crazy in picking food. Started off with Pasteis de Bacalhau, Queijo Fresco, Almondegas, Seafood Paella, Victor's Carabineiros (heaven), Aguacate Relleno (so good), and finished off with Tres Leches savored with Espresso. Yes, that was one pretty cool brunch. This is the kind of place you come back to, often. The only downside here is the lack of parking. You must come early to grab one of the 3 spots right in front, or on the street. Otherwise, prepare to drive around the block a few times, like I did. My regret is not being able to take photos of my order. I was so excited to try the dishes that I forgot.

Yelp
Is the word CUTE, code for tight and noisy? I might have enjoyed this place but didn't stay even with a reservation. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, and entered the main, ONLY indoor dining space, it was packed. It shares the small space with a large bar, which was completely occupied. We were standing by the door and the hostess told us that our table was right AT THE DOOR. Two seats at a tiny table. We asked for something further in the restaurant, we had a reservation and had requested indoor seating. Additionally, we did not want ALL the exiting and entering activity 2 feet in front us. She offered the front porch, in 90° weather or 2 arm chairs with a side table as the last option. We thanked her and canceled our reservation. The lesson here, read the reviews for any code words describing the place such as "intimate", "cute", "cozy". They all translate into small and tight. The food and cocktails may in fact be amazing, but I enjoy a bit of comfort when I dine out, so this restaurant will be a hard pass for me.

Yelp
I've been looking to try this restaurant out for a while now and finally got the chance! Super glad I made that decision! I will say it is much smaller than what I expected but it still has such a gentle/ calm feel that you don't mind!! My sever was great and was able to ask the bartender to make an off the menu drink for a friend and I! As for the food? DELICIOUS we grabbed bites that the both of us can share and we even took things home! Overall 9/10!!!

Yelp
Muy bien! Frankly, at a loss for words. Came to Providence from NYC for a few days and this place was recommended. Food was amazing---octopus perfect, plantation cups divine, and more. The female-led bar staff is exceptional. Cannot recommend Aguardente enough. Vibe is excellent! This is an annual trip, and we will be back.

Yelp
Casually traveled an hour to try this place out...and it was so worth it!!! Incredible atmosphere, drinks, food, and service. It is a tight space and quite busy, so I recommend making a reservation ahead of time. Highly recommend the vegetable paella and the sangria!! Definitely check it out if you find yourself in the Providence area :)

Yelp
The grilled Octopus salad is AMAZING. Actually, all of the dishes we enjoyed were as were the cocktails. The service was delightful and the slace is charming. This is a great spot for a date night or girls night out, which was the case for me. We clised the place!

Yelp
My daughter treated me to Mother's Day lunch at this delightful portuguese inspired restaurant nestled into Fox Point, Providence. Easy to find just off of 195 and Gano Street. The ambiance is charming and authentic to Portugal. The decor has a beautiful tiled wall, shelves stocked with wine, warm color pallette, and cozy furnishings. We dined on Plantain Cups filled with zucchini, corn, tomato, garlic, red onion, cilantro, and avocado, Chilled Marinated Octopus Salad in olive oil, red and white onion, lemon juice, parsley, and Seafood Paella. The Paella was loaded with little necks, mussels, shrimp, and squid mixed in a paprika spicey ricey. We took three desserts to go....flan (my favorite), Leche cake (my daughter's favorite), and churros with a caramel cup dunker. The wines from Portugal were pallette pleasers with our entrées. I will be back with friends and family!

Yelp
Nice and cozy Portuguese restaurant in fox point area of providence. Upon entering into this establishment, the owner came over to greet us. He told us a little bit of his background and he welcomed all different cultures around the world. That is cool. For drinks, we ordered mirtilo soda and it was very refreshing. Since It was nacho night, we had that as appetizer. We ordered seafood paella and grilled octopus as entrees. Finished our meal with flan. Food portions are decent and all delicious. I do not remember our server s name but that young lady was very good. Very polite with a great smile. Definitely will return if we visit Providence again.

Yelp
Aguardente was a fantastic find and perfect for a Saturday evening dinner date. All of the staff were welcoming and helpful. We had the cheese balls, veggie paella and prosciutto dishes. Simply outstanding. The Malbec made it to the remember list. Wonderful mocktail. Cozy and quaint, all the space was expertly organized. Make a reservation because it is popular.

Yelp
Aguardente is a Providence gem! So much deliciousness pack into this small spot. I've only dined on the patio, but the inside looks cute as well. The only downside of the patio is if you get the first table and the employees go in and out of that door a bunch for the trash. The door keeps slamming it's a bit annoying. But, the food and ambiance makes up for it! There are so many dishes that I really enjoyed. The clams and the queijo fresca are probably my favorite. So flavorful! Oh and I can't forget the lamb chops - so tender! Pretty much everything I've tried had been spot on, even stuff that sounds simple like the lupini beans are really a step above! The cocktails are also artfully curated, I find it hard to order anything besides the sangria. I've been twice and already looking forward to my next trip in!

Yelp
Very much enjoyed the dining experience here. It's an intimate atmosphere in which you have to get closer to your friends to converse due to the background bustle. The tapas are variable and all pair nicely with the many wine options on the menu. There are some interesting tapas that you can't get elsewhere in PVD. I do want to add their mains do not shine as much as the tapas but I suppose that is to be expected. Nice place to go on a date or split a bottle of wine with some close friends

Yelp
I loved this spot in college Came at least twice a semester The goat cheese appetizer The paella (inconsistent ~ sometimes too watery) The plantains The drinks are strong and I'm not a mezcal girlie but I loved the fig drink that isn't on the menu anymore?

Yelp
Wow. This place was amazing. My coworkers and I take turns picking new restaurants to try once a month and this was my pick. Everyone was amazed. I couldn't take pictures of everything we got because we were too busy eating lol. I wish I had taken a picture of the paella because it was amazing. Easily the best I've had. I shared it with one of my friends. It was plenty for the two of us. We got some empanadas, we got some sandwiches lamb chops. There was a riblets special. The drinks the food everything was amazing. I think this might be the best restaurant experience I've had in Rhode Island in a long time. Hats off to the staff!

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner tonight at Aguardente. The decor is very hip with plenty of light and high ceilings. Our food came out very quickly and the staff as well as the service was first rate. We had to many small dishes to name but they were all great. Highly recommend.
