The 31 Best Restaurants in Kolkata (Calcutta), India | Eater

"The much-hyped Chinese breakfast in Tiretti Bazaar is only a shadow of what it once was. Skip it, and head instead to Ah Yung across town in Tangra (Kolkata’s second Chinatown). The restaurant serves a filling breakfast of the curiously christened singara chow: steamed pork wontons (resembling samosas, or “singara” in the local lingo), nestled in a bed of noodles topped with Chinese greens and shreds of pork. It’s served with a savory broth fortified with pork lard and some fiery chile sauce made in-house." - Priyadarshini Chatterjee

Incredible! This hole in the wall family run Chinese restaurant is a must visit in Kolkata. The authentic noodles and wantons are just too good. Had to come back again in the evening for a full menu experience with 6 friends to do justice to the food. Really really good! 💯🤗

Best place for hangouts and regulars. Food is no doubt amazing. No complaints ever. One thing just, please maintain your portion sizes, it’s becoming lesser as you proceed.

Worth the short trek. With your maps app, it’s really easy though - all on what feel like alleys. Got the classics, chili pork and noodles. The noodles have a mild flavor, which some people called bland. I wouldn’t though it benefits from black pepper and hot sauce - which are on your table. It’s my first time trying this kind of Kolkata Chinese but I hope it’s not my last.

Absolutely love this place for the food it offers. We always go there on Sundays and have our favourite dishes. The only thing to keep in mind is to be on time here, else you miss out on the good dishes especially on Sundays.

I had breakfast at Ah Leung, Kolkata and tried their famous Singara Chow, steamed wontons, and chilli chicken. The taste was absolutely brilliant! It’s a small, family-run Chinese restaurant, and you can really feel the authenticity in their food. They even make their noodles fresh in-house, which adds a special touch to the dishes. A hidden gem for anyone who loves good, homely Chinese breakfast. Highly recommended!

Probably the best authentic Chinese restaurant in Kolkata. It's really hard to find but if you can find the way to reach the location then you are the lucky one ... Operation time till 8.30 pm . Behavior is really great 👍 and the food is awesome

Food is awesome, please don't expect luxurious experience here. This is a eating house. Not everything you will find here in chicken. Quite a good foods are served here the only problem is to find parking rest everything is good. Reasonable price also.

Overhyped and overpriced. The journey through broken roads to reach there shall put a hole in your tyres and if that doesn’t, their prices surely shall burn a hole in your pocket. Too much chillies in chilly chicken and the red chilly sauce they give as a dip shall burn your tongue for hours. Maybe good for those who love spice but that is definitely not ‘authentic’ Chinese. Do not go by reviews from illiterate folks who have no idea about origins of cuisines and their tastes. As for ‘Indianised Chinese’, I’ve had better stuff at local “parar dokaans”. And to top it up, the prices..OMG!!! 600 bucks for a plate of Roast Pork that tastes mediocre at best! The noodles are oily as hell and have hardly any taste once cooled. Same could be said about the dry chilly chicken. The wontons that apparently are the highlight of this place have almost no filling! Makes me wonder where else have the people praising this place been eating at! The surroundings do not inspire confidence in hygiene but the good points are that cold beverages come for 30 bucks a bottle(200ml), there is AC seating and the staff is really courteous. The only decent dish was the chilly chicken gravy(if you manage to sort out the infinite number of chillies). Long story short, go there if you want to partake in mediocre food at sky-high prices. You have been warned by a non-youtuber, non-reeler!
