The 31 Best Restaurants in Kolkata (Calcutta), India | Eater

"The much-hyped Chinese breakfast in Tiretti Bazaar is only a shadow of what it once was. Skip it, and head instead to Ah Yung across town in Tangra (Kolkata’s second Chinatown). The restaurant serves a filling breakfast of the curiously christened singara chow: steamed pork wontons (resembling samosas, or “singara” in the local lingo), nestled in a bed of noodles topped with Chinese greens and shreds of pork. It’s served with a savory broth fortified with pork lard and some fiery chile sauce made in-house." - Priyadarshini Chatterjee

The pork wonton noodles, commonly known as singara chow hit the right spots. It was simple and tasty. The dry crispy chicken was tasty and very juicy yet crispy. The stir fry pork was tasty and juicy. Overall loved the food , but the issue was with payments. They only accept cash, we came prepared but make sure when you visit you carry enough cash.

Great food! We tried the pork wonton chow and chilli smokey pork and both were delicious. The wonton chow was very light and flavourful, though one portion is enough for only one person. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained. Do note that the wonton chow takes a little time to be served, but it’s worth the wait.

Best place for hangouts and regulars. Food is no doubt amazing. No complaints ever. One thing just, please maintain your portion sizes, it’s becoming lesser as you proceed.

Incredible! This hole in the wall family run Chinese restaurant is a must visit in Kolkata. The authentic noodles and wantons are just too good. Had to come back again in the evening for a full menu experience with 6 friends to do justice to the food. Really really good! 💯🤗

Decided randomly one day on a winter night, to visit this place(best decision). One of the best and authentic Chinese Restaurant I've visited in Kolkata. Warm and comforting food in a chilly night, it was a really good combo. The pork wontons both steamed and fried were absolutely delicious, and the noodles that we had were super comforting and filling. Will definitely visit again soon.

We went there on a Sunday morning at around 7:30 - 8 a.m and it was jam packed with people. We had to wait almost half an hour before placing our order. And then it took almost 40 minutes for our order to arrive. But let me tell you, taste wise the food was awesome and after tasting it we thought that it was worth the wait, and also we could understand the reason behind the restaurant being jam packed so early in the morning. We ordered the Chicken Yam Tei, but we had to parcel it as we were getting late. The owner was so well behaved and even after clearly being so busy, he gave us enough time to talk to us and make us understand about their situation. Do avoid visiting on weekend mornings. But you must visit this place if you want to taste authentic Chinese food.
