"Staying at Ahilya is like visiting the home of that wealthy, eccentric and extremely tasteful aunt you always wished you had. Three graceful, Balinese-style villas are stuffed to the gills with the most fabulous treasures, carefully curated from the owner’s lifetime of exotic travels: African masks, Hindu statuettes, Burmese bowls, a gilded altarpiece. Every nook holds something old and beautiful to be admired. The villas - each with 2-4 airy rooms - are tucked amidst lush, tropical gardens, but give out onto the wide-open bay, where fishermen work and cetaceans play. (We watched dolphins as we sipped our sundowners.) Elsewhere, two crystal-clear swimming pools provide cool retreat from the strong Goan sun. Ahilya by the Sea is a magical oasis directly on the waterfront. The location is truly unique, the house itself is beautifully designed, and the rooms are full of character and art.||The food is outstanding. Twice a day, the daily menus are handwritten on a slate board, and there is also a lovely à-la-carte selection. Every meal felt special. The food is prepared always fresh, means you have to wait 30 minutes.||The service, however, is what makes this place unforgettable. The staff are exceptionally friendly, warm and genuinely attentive. Another wonderful detail: laundry is included, which is a rare and very welcome bonus.||For excursions, the hotel organizes a driver who can be paid directly – comfortable and seamless.||All in all, Ahilya by the Sea is one of the finest places we have ever visited. We would return without hesitation

Ahilya gave us a flawless experience. It is a sensual place, not least because of its special location on the edge of a busy fishing village, with consequent all-day entertainment . And yet it is very peaceful, with the sea literally a splash away. The staff were an absolute pleasure to deal with, and the entire property is the definition of elegance, with tasteful art everywhere. Every room - even the outdoor areas - is a visual delight. The food is exceptional, and the care, from room cleaning to the organisation of outings was outstanding.

Ahilya by the sea is one of the best ways to experience Goa. It is a beautiful and well appointed property, and its location right by the sea makes it absolutely perfect. With just 9 rooms, the property is very quiet and often feels like your own! Our room was lovely - large and comfortable. The staff is very warm and courteous, and also helped pull together an itinerary of things to see and do in neighbourhoods close to the hotel. We ate a few meals at the property itself which were delicious. Can't wait to plan our next stay!

We stayed at Ahilya by the sea for a week - the minute we stepped into the property, we felt like this is what we needed. Everything right from the location, service, scenery, rooms was superb. Loved the whole antique artsy vibe of the place. Chef Avinash was kind enough to accommodate all our requests on days we dined at the property. The food was delicious and made with the best local ingredients. The staff is hands down one of the best in our experience in terms of service. They genuinely take care of you like they mean it! Highly recommend staying here - this will be our go to place whenever we’re in Goa!
