"Situated near the Mercato delle Erbe (well worth a visit either before or after your meal), this restaurant changes its menu regularly, sometimes even daily, in order to guarantee the freshness of its farm-to-table ingredients. The simple cuisine features some delicious vegetarian dishes, including stand-out recipes such as fennel with coconut and green pepper sauce. Don’t miss the home-made bread, which is baked daily with great technical skill." - Michelin Inspector

The 18 Best Restaurants in Bologna, Italy | Eater

"The team of young chefs at Ahimè produce fermentation-forward, casually creative dining in a city known for heavy traditional fare, breathing life into Bologna’s nonexistent modernist dining scene. While the restaurant is generally underappreciated by some locals, Ahimè has found its own open-minded clientele, who tend to lean international. Start with slow-risen sourdough with juniper butter alongside free-range salami and oyster plates from the nearby Po Valley delta before digging into flavorful small plates like squash ravioli accented by apricot vinegar, turnips with lardo, gnocchi in dashi and parsley oil, and roasted brassicas with miso and various fruit-ferment reductions. Then move onto the gummy bear-inspired spaghetti with wild licorice or chitarra tossed in duck liver and lemon, along with meaty offerings such as duck tartare dusted with berbere spices. Desserts are simple, like baked quince with fresh whipped cream and crushed dried rose." - Coral Sisk

This place was such a disappointment. The food was average at best. We started with the bread and butter (both were good) and the Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Pumpkin dish was the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. The lettuce with olive and pine nut was overly salty, and the delicate lettuce couldn’t stand up to it, maybe kale would’ve worked better. Of the two pasta dishes, the green one desperately needed both salt and something bright or acidic to bring out any flavor. The pork neck dish had no seasoning at all; the meat was bland, and the accompanying sauce lacked depth or complexity. I could overlook an off-seasonal menu — that happens — but what really ruined the experience was the service. It was awkward, inattentive, and cold. We had to ask for finished plates to be cleared, our table was never wiped between courses (see photo of dirty table), and not a single person on staff seemed remotely friendly or engaged. Maybe this restaurant used to be good, but it certainly isn’t now. Save your time and money, it’s not worth it.

The food is good, but our experience missed the mark completely. We were sat on the bar on the furthest end from sight of the two servers (who had way too much on their hands and could use a third pair). We chose the "Chilled Choice" which is a set of 5 recommended dishes. The pacing of our dishes was not good. We spent 2 hours with the first 4 dishes (an average of 30 minutes PER dish). A couple that was set next to us an hour after we started our meal finished said 4 dishes in an hour, for comparison. It felt like they were trying to fire as many of the same dish as possible at the same time (we had a view of their board as we sat on the bar). When asking the server for another glass of wine they just placed an empty glass on the bar in front of me, and only went back and actually filled it 10 minutes later. As for the food - The flavor combinations were good. The pasta was cooked a bit under al dente and was a touch too hard (a bit tough and crumbly). The beans/eggplants were cold inside the warm pea mash. My slices of meat were done one degree more than my partner's. Overall a mixed experience, leaning towards a negative experience. For the price we didn't get the experience we desired.

I recently visited Ahime and tried their tasting menu, which included five different dishes. Unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. The restaurant’s full menu is quite small, with only around eight dishes in total. When a chef decides to offer such a limited selection, I expect each plate to be exceptional — a true reflection of their best work. In this case, that standard wasn’t met. The flavors were acceptable but far from memorable, and none of the five people at our table found any dish particularly unique or inspiring. I usually appreciate simplicity in food, but simple dishes still need to be deeply flavorful or show refined technique. Here, the cooking felt uninspired and lacked the creativity or excitement I expected. Another major concern was the value. The food cost of the plates felt disproportionate to the price we paid. While I understand that tasting menus come with smaller portions, the ingredients used seemed quite basic and inexpensive, which made the high pricing difficult to justify. On a more positive note, the restaurant’s design was attractive — minimalist and industrial in a pleasant way. The service team was friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable throughout the evening. Their wine list was extensive, though it leaned heavily toward the expensive side.

My husband and I ate here last summer. It was our first green Michelin star experience. The menu is seasonal and they do have a nose to tail approach. They were very accommodating when I chose not to eat sweet breads. Service was good. We had a reservation and were initially sat at the bar. However, we were able to move to a table when another couple had left. On this particular occasion we chose to have the tasting menu. The food started off very strong, but the last two courses from me seemed quite similar to each other. Cucumber salad with sea bass tartar, super fresh, slightly bitter but perfect starter Beef neck ragu with apricot slightly sweet but brought good acidity to the dish. This was so good!! Black eyes peas with lettuce and tarragon. This was good but lacking a little something to lift it up. Artichoke with potato and mint Or Sweet bread with peanut butter plums, hibiscus sauce, creme pat and meringue. This was very delicious but something about the way the plums were prepared caused my tongue to swell up and become really itchy. I'm not normally allergic to plums or hibiscus so I'm not sure what happened but my husband loved it and he was fine.

Good meal, feels very farm to table. Sourdough was fabulous with the butter. Rly enjoyed the ravioli. The lettuce was also a standout I liked the crunchy vegetable paired with the crunch of nuts. Duck was just okay lacking flavour and also kind of on the raw side. Dessert was simple very light which I appreciated.

I simply went with the chef’s selection, a daily menu built entirely around the freshest local ingredients available that day. You can really taste the connection between the kitchen and local farmers and producers.

What started off as a nice meal unfortunately fell flat due to a ridiculous screw up by the staff. The food was overall good, with some creative takes that were enjoyable. I was looking forward to the spicy quail on the menu which although was very good, had no spice at all and was in fact not Quail, but Duck instead ( no explanation but whatever). Once 10pm hit, the staff became more concerned with cleaning up and leaving rather than finishing up the 4 remaining tasting menus still yet to be served dessert, making us all wait about 33 minutes for this thrown together dish I would’ve rather not eaten at all. I am being generous with 4 stars, as the clear lack of accountability for this large screw up that we watched right in front of us at the Kitchen Counter seats, and a chef leaving before we even did could be enough for 3 stars. If you really want to go here, reserve an earlier time so the staff doesn’t forget about you either.

We had a really enjoyable and laid-back experience, seated at a cozy communal table. The food was modern and inventive – good flavors with a creative twist. The place strikes a great balance between casual and refined. Would happily come back!
