The 23 Best Restaurants In Honolulu, Oahu - Oahu - The Infatuation

"A bowling alley might not be where you’d expect to find fantastic oxtail soup and some of the crispiest and juiciest fried chicken in Hawai‘i. And yet, that’s exactly what you’ll get at Aiea Bowl. Alongside those two essentials, prioritize dessert, especially the lemon crunch cake—we often stop by just for the soft fluffy cake layered with lemon and toffee bits. You don’t have to bowl to eat here, but given that you’re in a bowling alley, this place is great for groups. Plus, then you can order more cake." - martha cheng

Google
Really good spot to eat, but most days there will be a wait. Good service and good prices on food. I’d definitely recommend the tasty chicken and boneless kalbi!

Google
The reason why I have to give this a one is because the security was disrespectful I don’t like no one touching me even if they were trying to get my attention. He was so disrespectful not just to me but to another individual in our party we sent $132 on the bowling alone and should have went elsewhere. The security was being aggressive, and just rude. The food was excellent, the lanes good but the security ruined all our experience it wasn’t even fun anyway more.

Google
Busy place- bowling and yummy restaurant! Bowling for 7- $60 hour for 1 lane. Recommend going to eat instead. Large servings, great food!

Google
It let us book for the more expensive price even if our bowling started at 10pm. They didnt offer a refund of the difference when we checked in. Shame on them. Also last time we picked up a cake, the service was terrible.

Miguel W.

Google
Deff worth every penny. Go a hour or so before your reserved bowling time. Eat there the food is great! We had the calamari, garlic shrimp and 2 orders of chicken tenders. One with regular fries and one with waffle fries. All of it was good! Then we bowled for 2 hours and we couldn't be happier. The staff is welcoming and pleasant. The shoes were decent and the lanes have plenty of room. 5/5

My husband and I waited 10 minutes before being greeted by a host at the front desk/counter. We arrived at 815pm and was told that they stopped seating customers and closed the restaurant because it was a slow night. We explained to the host that the dining area appears to be full and that the website says closing is at 9pm. We were once again turned away. This is very disappointing as we are regular long time customers. It seems like the level of service has gone done. I don’t think we’ll be back anytime soon.

What are unique little spot. The tasty chicken truly was amazing. I would go back just for the chicken. There was a little bit of a wait. I thought it was funny that people were more interested in going to eat then to go to bowl. We also tried the pumpkin crunch cake and it was pretty delicious

Food: 3/5 Dessert: 5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Overall: I'd come here for dessert every time I visit Oahu! The food is just ok. The extended review... Food: Oxtail Soup - 3/5 - I was craving this but at the end of the day it was just ok even with saimin. I remember it being better in the past but this time around in the past. Lemon Crunch Cake - 5/5 - Now this is the star of the restaurant. I come for this cake alone and you should too! Nice flavor and texture. Service: 3/5 - Friendly service. Ambiance: 3/5 - It's in a bowling alley which is an interesting location for a restaurant.

Yelp
Two must for me are the fried chicken and the oxtail soup. Arrived with a large group late one evening and they were down to still serve us. Customer service was top notch. The chicken is crazy good. The sweetness makes it addictive and it the leftover was still bomb 2 days after! Oxtail soup with a side of white rice. Chefs kiss. This was more than enough to feed my husband and I and we sit have leftovers.

Yelp
Best fried chicken on the island and it's not even close! Their boneless galbi is super flavorful too! The whole meal in general is heavy fair warning some come hungry like after a beach day or a hike. Mac salad is great, and I ordered brown rice just to kinda balance out the meal. Service is a little slow but this place can get packed fast. A lot of people already sat as soon as it opened.

Yelp
The Alley Combination Plate! Boneless Kalbi and Tasty Chicken with two scoops brown rice and tossed salad! Our favorite combination plate here. We share the plate for lunch and we still end up taking home leftovers! Tasty garlic and sweet shoyu flavored chicken bites that are moist inside and crispy and saucy skin on the outside. The boneless Kalbi is flavorful and range from chewy to tender pieces. The tossed salad has a nice non-descript dressing. Very simple salad, but a needed side to complement the chicken and Kalbi. We ordered take out dessert for later. A slice of the famous lemon crunch cake. Today's slice of cake was a bit on the dry side. Service is generally attentive unless it gets busy. Then you will need to flag a server for water refills, take out container, and the bill. A local restaurant with tasty food. A bit noisy as it is a bowling alley lol.

Yelp
Did you really go to Aiea bowl if you didn't have the oxtail soup?? I was really craving some oxtail soup so I had to go to the best spot in town. The food was incredible, as always! I wish they had the seating in the restaurant area because it was so loud and noisy near the bowling lanes. Also the tables and chairs were dirty when we were seated. Other than that, the food and service were great! It's hard to try their other options when the oxtail soup is so good!!

Yelp
If you are visiting Oahu, Aiea Bowl is a must visit. This bowling alley has one of the best food in Oahu and is definitely a local favorite. I enjoyed the Mahi Mahi and it was so good. My favorite was the Tasty Chicken which was fried to perfection and definitely a shareable plate. The portions are very large so come hungry. The atmosphere is fun and lively due to you being in a bowling alley. The service is a little slow, but they are very busy so expect to wait awhile. Very chill spot and definitely try it out if you want authentic Hawaiian food.

Yelp
We stopped by Aiea bowl for a going away Tristan Provided great customer service and recommendations. I ended up getting the. Fried pork chops with extra gravy

Yelp
Came for the food, stayed for the bowling. The food here is unsuspectingly good. We love the oxtail soup and the mixed plate (tasty chicken and mahi mahi). We make it a point to visit atleast once on every HI trip. Bowling here is fun too especially at night when they do cosmic bowl type of a vibe....
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
I think the food here is pretty good for a bowling alley! The mixed plate with teriyaki salmon was really amazing. I also had the furikake ahi which I wasnt the biggest fan of. A friend I was eating with let me have a piece of kalbi which was awesome! I liked the salad a lot and the shoestring fries are amazing (and definitely the most shoestringy fries i've ever seen!). Honestly, I only came here to eat, that's how good the food here is :). So I cannot comment on the bowling aspect of this place, haha!
google avatar

Travis C.

Yelp
Came here today on Veterans Day and it wasn't packed at all. This was around 4pm so that's a good thing. Straight off the airplane to here to get the tasty chicken and pumpkin crunch. Everything was ono was always and I haven't been home since 2018. The service was very good. If you're around this area be sure to give this place a try and trust me you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Kerith H.

Yelp
Is it bad that I only come here to eat?? I mean there's nothing wrong with the bowling alley itself but I'm in love with their food.. and seems I may not be the only one! Everything was good but that "tasty chicken" sure does love up to its name!! Super crunchy, and very flavorful- my mouth is watering Al over again just writing this now!! Immediate yes to go back for more!

Yelp
Stop by after the swap meet for lunch to have the famous oxtail soup, Korean fried chicken, calamari and yummy slice of cake! Who would have thought a bowling alley can serve yummy food. You know it's good when you find all the locals here and place is packed. Oxtail soup it the spot. Yummy broth and tender meat. I ask for lemon as I like it tangy to balance the sweetness and also comes with ginger and other sauce to add to it along with bowl of rice. Next is the chicken and beef. I love crunch factor and chicken was not dried at all. Just a little too sweet for me along with the beef. I think if you gave it more heat it would be great. Lastly the calamari. Loved it nice crunch! The crunch cake though Omg delicious. Was too full to have it at the alley so had it the day after and it was still yummy! Did I tell you Guy tried the food there too! Well when in Honolulu give it a try.
google avatar

Lei P.

Yelp
They got a good food selection...oxtail soup, garlic chicken, the lemon crunch cake omg! You can drink n eat where we bowl whereas the other bowling spots, you can't.
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
Why do all bowling alley's have good food? This is my 3rd trip to Hawaii in the past few years because my son moved here, but this is our first trip to Aiea Bowl AND WELL WORTH IT!! I did my Yelp homework and we tried the tasty chicken, the garlic shrimp, the boneless kalbi, the oxtail soup and the hamburger and fries. ALL EXCEPTIONAL! Dessert? OF COURSE!! The pumpkin crunch, the strawberry crunch and the chocolate cake. ALL SPECTACULAR! Favorites: The boneless kalbi and the "famous" pumpkin crunch I'm a mac salad LOVER and normally love mayo, but unfortunately, not a fan here. THERE IS WAYYY TOO MUCH MAYO!! Almost inedible IMO. ((Sorry!))

Yelp
This brings back lots of memories way back I use to bowl in leagues. Aiea Bowl is run by the Alley restaurant as well because you can see all the workers cross trained . It's also connected so all of your food and snacks while you bowl will be coming from the Alley. Only thing I can see has change through the Years of course the price of bowling . Also the decor it's more trendy and all kinds of neon lights Support local

Yelp
We just landed in Honolulu and this is our first stop. The 4 of us shared tasty chicken, Kalbi and oxtail soup with Mac salad, brown rice and salad. Everything was delicious. The chicken was really tasty with nice boneless cuts of chicken. The Kalbi was cooked perfectly and the thin slices of meat was a perfect medium rare on the inside. Don't know how they do that! The oxtail soup was very savory. We got 5 pieces of oxtail in our soup. We all shared so we that we had room for the lemon crunch cake. It was the perfect ending to a great meal! Crunch topping with a touch of lemon on a soft cake. Perfect. Thanks Aiea bowl - we'll be back.

Yelp
I've heard a ton about this place and it is pretty much a right of passage to eat here. A couple friends and I went here for lunch and there was a long wait (15-20 minutes) for the limited number of tables that are in the restaurant. Once they seated us, it was all pretty quick and I ordered the tasty chicken plate. The tasty chicken was pretty good, but don't make the same mistake I did. Order the bowl, not the plate! When I asked the waitress what the difference was between the bowl and the plate, she said that the plate had more food, so logically I thought, 'well I don't want to run out of food. Let me get the plate.' But the plate was a huge amount of food and I ended up not being able to finish everything, even though it was pretty good. The tasty chicken is the signature recipe for this place and is battered, deep fried, and coated with their tasty sauce: if you are in the area, you should definitely stop here!

Yelp
This review is based on a take out order. Friendly staff, ease of ordering, and quick service. Believe the hype! Their Oxtail Soup is Da Bomb! Tender, fall off the bone meat, hearty & rich soup, and just the right type of condiments. My only gripe is that it was pretty expensive given the portion size. I guess that is the price one pays for fame. I also ordered a slice of their Lemon Crunch Cake. It was good tasting, not comparably memorable like the soup.
google avatar

Angelyn S.

Yelp
Orders the tasty chicken and boneless kalbi plate. Best fried chicken and kalbi at a restaurant I've ever had. Favorite restaurant on island for local food
google avatar

J Y.

Yelp
Really good oxtail soup and even better fried chicken. The tasty chicken was just as the name described! Can't wait to go back and try something else with the tasty chicken. 4.5 stars
google avatar

Renta P.

Yelp
Amazing food! Had the oxtail soup and man! The seasoning, the taste was Chefs Kiss! If you're on the island you have to come here and try the oxtail soup. Its a Bowling Alley with a restaurant. Service was great as well!
google avatar

Kainani K.

Yelp
My husband wanted to eat here, as he normally does, because he loves the tasty chicken plate (all rice). I decided to try the fried pork chops because our daughter orders this every time we come here. OMG! I'm so glad I decided to give it a try because the pork chops were nice and crispy on the outside but still moist on the inside. The gravy was also nice, thick and flavorful! I also got the variety pack of cupcakes to share with my daughter and her fiancé, so the only one I ate was the chocolate peanut butter flavor. The cupcake was perfectly moist and had a nice chocolatey flavor while the frosting had a subtle peanut butter flavor; nothing overpowering.
google avatar

Maile N.

Yelp
Aiea Bowl restaurant is one of my favorites on island! It's ono food (there's something for everyone) with good portions and reasonably priced, plus it's such a fun bowling atmosphere and the bakery has lovely, tasty treats like lemon crunch cake. I always get the mixed plate - so here, you can see the kalbi and garlic shrimp with brown rice and salad (trying to be healthy)! Their Tasty Chicken, furikake ahi, loco moco and hamburger steak are other favorites, plus they are known for their oxtail soup! So satisfyingly ono and my friends loved their food too!

Yelp
This is a hidden gem, we wouldn't have found it if we didn't have a charter tour driver take us there. Our driver told us he's taking us somewhere unconventional, but great food. We pulled up to a bowling alley and headed in. Unassuming tables set up at the front of the bowling alley, was interesting, but the food was amazing. Our group was so impressed by the food, I think the entire group put it up at one of the best food spots we had during our time in Oahu. We tried a lot of food, but the overwhelming favorite was the Tasty Chicken, it was crunchy but tender inside with a lot of flavor, sweet, tangy, with a bit of spice. It was so good. The Lemon crunch cake was also something you have to try! Overall, a great experience, we really wanted to go back for a second meal, but we didn't have time during our trip. It's a place I'd recommend to family and friends for sure.
google avatar

Mark Y.

Yelp
This place is always our first stop on Oahu when it comes to good food! The bowls and plates are where to go on the menu and this go round we had the boneless marinated kalbi and loco moco combo, furikake ahi (a must), and the tasty chicken with boneless marinated kalbi. Each came with Mac salad or a green salad and brown or white rice or hapa rice. The marinated kalbi was tender soft but I prefer the ahi as a go to. The good thing is if you can't decide try them both! Be sure to leave room for all the awesome desserts! We tried the lemon crunch chiffon cake and it was big enough to share! Service was great and despite being busy they brought out our food in no time.

Yelp
I had my food delivered. I ordered Boneless Chopped Pork Steak. Gravy is fine if you want Pork Cutlet. I thought they'd use pork steak. It would've been juicer since it'll have some fat. So, the pork in this plate is kinda too dry for me. There is barely any mushrooms or onions too. Maybe I should eat there in person. Maybe they give more ‍. I ordered a regular plate, but it looks mini to me. Also, I wanted white rice and mac salad. Maybe it's the way Uber is set up. It gave up to 5 options for sides. I picked all rice and mac salad. I noted that I wanted the usual rice and salad. I guess they don't read notes. I will try another entree here. I want to check out their food. I it's better.

Yelp
Delicious food in a bowling alley? Sign me up! There is often a long wait here, but don't let that deter you from coming and eating! Parking can also sometimes be a nightmare depending on how busy the lanes are, but if you come at off hours, then it's totally worth it. Some favorites: - Oxtail soup -- you get some pretty big and meaty pieces of oxtail and the broth itself is nice and clear. I love the soup because it helps clear my system and it feels nice and soothing even when it's hot outside - Tasty chicken -- truly tasty!! Would recommend getting an appetizer size to share with the table. It's about the same size as the bowl - Lemon crunch cake -- one of my favorite cakes to bring home. It's not too sweet and it packs a punch with the lemon flavor. Definitely on the rotation of one of my favorite places to go. Service can be slow at times, but hey -- that's island time for ya.
google avatar

Jaeden Y.

Yelp
This is a total hole in the wall with some amazing Hawaiian food! A definite must try when visiting Oahu! Note: This review is very late, I went in the summer of 2024 lol but I just had to review this place! This place is totally unassuming on the outside and inside and is definitely a bowling alley. But they also serve food and have a dining area. Service was good and dining area was clean. They also have a very extensive menu that includes some amazing looking cakes. I ordered the combo plate with the Tasty Chicken and Loco Moco. Both of these items were delish! But the Tasty Chicken was the total highlight of the meal! It was so so so good! Very crispy and super flavorful (combo of sweet, soy, salty). 5/5 I wasn't a huge fan of the Mac Salad though, a little too sour for my taste. Overall, I definitely recommend this place for some classic Hawaiian dishes with huge portions. So good!!! I'd definitely stop by here if I'm ever in Oahu again!

Kelly M.

Yelp
Great service. Awesome food. Friendly. The oxtail soup is awesome but so are all the other options. Love eating here.
google avatar

Jane E.

Yelp
The infamous oxtail soup!! Great eats, great service! Casual as it is in a bowling alley. Lots and lots of food!
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
Delicious, lowkey food in a fun environment. I got the mixed plate with tasty chicken and furikake ahi. I thought both were very good, and overall the plate was only $20. Generous portions too!
google avatar

Elaine L.

Yelp
I wish there was an Aiea Bowl closer to town because the food and bowling alley are a great combination. Don't let anyone deter you from trying the saimin (not their most popular item but still delicious)!
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
Aiea Bowl's restaurant has the absolute best cake I've ever tried. They get from me just for their lemon crunch cake. It is SO good. The cake part isn't too sweet, and combined with the toffee crunchies it is perfection. I've been coming here for years just because of the cake. You MUST try it!
google avatar

Rebecca C.

Yelp
Let's strike up some fun with Aiea Bowl. The prices varies on the weekdays, holidays, weekends and cosmic bowling. I highly recommend to book your reservation if you're going in a big group. Unless you're willing to wait. We made a mistake and waited 45 minutes for a lane. It's best to check out their website, www.aieabowl.com, for specials. They also have 50% on Tuesdays. Shoe rentals are $6/pairs. Must have socks [or you'll have to buy one, $5/pair] Bowling is great for family, friends and work colleagues. A time to have fun, relax and have a friendly competition;) And if you're hungry in between or after, they have the Aiea Alley Restaurant. I love their oxtail soup and lemon bars ;) Thank you for reading my review. Have a blessed Sunday!

Yelp
Within the first hour exiting HNL with our rental car we made our way here. It's less than 10 minutes from the airport. And we'd pass Aiea on route to Ko Olina. Two good reasons to have a late lunch here. The cafe is located inside the bowling alley. The bowling alley is located at the top level of the strip mall with the Times supermarket as the anchor store on the ground level. We entered to find a host station. A server asked for our name & mobile #. Keep in mind it's 2pm on a Monday. There's hardly anyone there - eating or bowling. Less than 5 minutes later we get a text. Our table is ready. We're seated out in the bowling common area. Not the cafe. Which I guess was closed off. Given a thick menu. Lots of pictures to with the descriptions. If you've never been here you need to order the oxtail soup. Ordered: * hubby with oxtail soup * daughter combo plate - loco moco and tasty chicken. * myself combo plate - kalbi beef and tasty chicken * three local draft beers * pumpkin crunch mac pie So much food - other than oxtail soup, we had two boxes of leftovers. Service was friendly and efficient.

Yelp
Love their garlic fries, lemon crunch cake. I've heard the strawberry one is good too.

Yelp
We had sooo much fun bowling. I had not bowled in over 40 years so I was so surprised at how well I did in the beginning It was fun for my grand kids. The gutter guards were so helpful. Pulled nice and shies were nice and clean. The alley was really nice and clean. Seniors get a nice discount

Yelp
It's been over 20 years since I bowled at Aiea Bowl. And wow, what a difference! Besides the convenient location (central Honolulu), I am most grateful for: - online reservation capability - intuitive lane system technology with auto bumpers and track lighting - delicious food from The Alley that you can eat at your lane(s) - premium lanes with comfy seating ($15 more per hour than classic lanes) - ample parking I came here for a work social and had so much fun, I brought my husband Ikaika O. and the kids the following weekend. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we brought my parents and sister's family two weeks later! Looking to arrange a school social for my kids before their new school year begins. The price adds up quick: $60 per lane for 1hr, $120 for 2 hrs, and so on. Premium is $75, $150, etc. Tuesday are half off so it's best to book at least a couple of weeks in advance. Happy bowling, Yelpers!!! STRRRIIIIKE!!!

Yelp
My first experience was the oxtail soup, which was amazing so today I tried Ed the deep fried breaded pork chops and OMG I was absolutely blown away! The moisture and flavor the was incredible! My wife got the futukaki ahi and I asked for a bite of that and once again ... OMG!! I'm now thinking if there is anything that is NOT delicious?? The food is amazing here! You don't have to bowl to enjoy the amazing food here, but we do and have a great time! We are now coming here weekly! Yup it's that good! The other couple raved about the oxtail soup and the mini hamburger steak. The gravy is ono too! Service is good and the staff here are friendly and helpful. The ambiance is bowling alley cool! It's music and the sound of screams and pins being knocked over! But, who cares when the food is so good! And I haven't even tried their signature tasty chicken yet!
google avatar

Keala S.

Yelp
Came to Aiea Bowl for some good eats and left seriously satisfied! We ordered the oxtail soup, and it was so delicious. The broth was rich and comforting and was at the perfect temperature. It had a generous amount of meat that fell right off the bone. The oxtail came with a tangy sesame ponzu sauce and a side of ginger which we added into the soup too. We also got the Alley Mix Plate with Tasty Chicken and Furikake Ahi. Both were solid picks--the chicken was flavorful and really crispy, and the ahi was perfectly seared with that tasty furikake crust. Super satisfying combo. And don't sleep on the garlic fries--crispy to the last bite and not overly garlicky. We used the ponzu as a dip for our fries too. We came on a Tuesday for the special--bowling was 50% off. Great deal and a fun way to spend the evening with friends or family or even team bonding activity.

Yelp
Great ox tail soup. Pro tip, order ox tail soup with ramen noodles. You won't be disappointed. We also tried the tasty chicken. Great flavor fried with rice flour made the fried chicken nice and light. I just wished it was temperature hot but when we got it luke warm. If you don't mind the noise of the bowling pins and loud music hang with the locals and try something new.

Yelp
This place only got 2 stars because everyone else enjoyed their meal and the mac salad salvaged mine. Everything I opted to order was out of stock. We had a party of 9 and we decided to switch it up as we were meeting up with friends. Some of us enjoy their famous oxtail so we decided to frequent it again. After ordering 2 out of stock items, i settled on a burger and man was it not good. Not only was the meat dead and dry, the flavor was very far off. My fries were raw/ not cooked. I gave up. The chocolate cake was decent. Someone else at our table also had a burger and thought the same. I can't say I will frequent it again for a long while. Maybe in the next few years we can try again.

Yelp
I was looking for somewhere to eat around the area and was interested in the food offered here. To my surprise it was a bowling spot. ( I know it's in the name, but I was too focused on the food) The best restaurant ever located in a bowling alley! It was packed on a Wednesday afternoon. I now know why, after trying their food. There was no seating to wait. We were waited on by 3 different people. Which is cool Bcs team work makes the dream work, but I hope their tip is split if that's the case. There was a wait for getting our orders, but the food itself came out pretty fast. I got the oxtail soup and my favorite thing abt it was the tender oxtails dipped in the ponzu sauce. 10/10. I also ordered the mixed alley plate. I chose the kalbi, tasty chicken, Mac salad and white rice to go with it. 10/10!! Everything on the plate was so savory. For dessert, the strawberry crunch cake did its thing! Although I wish there was a little more strawberry filling inside. 9/10. All in all, I recommend trying this place out! Update: Came back. No long wait, came around the same time as last time. Fast service and kind server. The staff is so great here! Restroom was clean with good brand of toilet paper and paper towels. This is such a great restaurant. Once again, I will be coming back!!

Yelp
What a fun, chill spot that's great for big groups! Went to Aiea Bowl for the first time earlier this year with my son's soccer team after a tournament. We had a very large group with multiple families and so, reservations were made weeks in advance to accommodate all of us. It was a happening place when we walked in. There was a line of people waiting to get bowling shoes, all the lanes were going, and even the dining areas were full of people! I think our group took up about 4-6 lanes. Setting up the teams were easy enough. The kids were able to bowl with or without the guard rails. The adults were able to bring down their drinks from the bar and the seating felt spacious and not cramped. I heard that the food was actually really good here, but we had just eaten a late lunch so I opted for a small dessert of Asato Family sherbert (yes, they had a few flavors available here!) and drinks from the bar. They were really short staffed, so there were times where we had to wait quite a bit for bar service, but he was super nice and friendly. I had quite a few drinks while I was there -- a mix of cocktails and hard seltzer -- but the prices were so incredibly reasonable! I couldn't believe my bill was less than $50. Haha. What a great deal, especially during happy hour! All in all, we had a good time drinking and bowling. It was a great way to wind down and let the kids to have fun after a tough tournament. Next time, I want to come back and try out the food!

Yelp
Delicious spot in a bowling alley, unexpected to be that tasty and really large portions. Everything we tried was delicious. The oxtail soup was a hit - I've never tasted oxtail as tender as it was here. Adding ramen in the soup was a game changer, super delicious! My friends got plates, and they were massive. The kalbi and fried chicken were outstanding! The furikake crusted fish was also tasty. This unassuming spot turned out to be a favorite on our trip! Super casual, delicious, and huge. Only thing that could've been better was parking, since it was packed!

Yelp
We were early (a little after 5) so we were seated quickly. I tried their ramen since it was a rainy day. Had previously eaten their oxtail with ramen and though the ramen noodles were good, the broth was extremely oily. I thought it was due to the oxtails but even the regular ramen broth has quite a sheen of oil on the broth surface. Ramen came piping hot. Noodles had a good chew, but they do get soggy since the broth is so hot (to be expected). Condiments are a few pieces of char siu (good flavor), kamaboko (fish cake), green onions (which I omit), and mustard cabbage. I really would prefer choi sum, mustard cabbage flavor is strong and works when there's oxtails due to their flavor but for me, not in regular ramen. Good amount of noodles, decent price. Wouldn't come here specifically for their ramen but might get it again. Hubby had the boneless Kalbi bowl, now served on a plate. Much easier to eat on a plate so this is an improvement. Kalbi is consistently good, tiny scoop of rice and tiny scoop of mac salad accompany the meat. Really should have a little larger scoop of rice... You can get tossed salad instead of mac. Ramen was a 3.5, Kalbi a 4.0, would be 4.5 if the rice scoop were larger.

Yelp
Decided to try this tasty chicken for lunch. My coworker went and picked the team up tasty chicken plates. Of course I have to have the double rice. Instead of the salad and mac. Upon her return we found out the tasty chicken is called garlic chicken plate. This Garlic chicken is the best on island hands down. It's sweet, crunchy and moist and full of flavors. The soy sauce on the rice even better! The icing is its only $14. 10/10 highly recommended.

Yelp
There are many good things to say about The Alley at Aiea Bowl from the food to the service to the desserts to the food to the .... Did I say they have great desserts? They run a great operation where one can bowl then have some great eats afterwards. They have one of the best ox tail soups on Oahu. ( Sorry Kapiolani Coffee Shop but 2nd best for oxtail soup is still good.) Any visitors to Hawai'i that want to eat where the locals go, should come here. There's a large parking lot in front with plenty of handicap stalls. Bring a jacket if you get cold easily. The AC keeps the place in the cold side. Check this place out!

Yelp
Most notable two items on the menu: Oxtail soup. Fall off the bone goodness with broth that you will slurp up. Decent serving size at a reasonable price of $24.95. Lemon crunch cake. Bright lemon curd, crunchy toffee morsels. Not too sweet (apparently is a great compliment from an Asian, I learned recently).
