The Best Restaurants In Miami Springs - Miami - The Infatuation

"This spot gets its name because of its proximity to the airport (and because it’s also a liquor store). It’s exactly where you want to be spending a six-hour layover. They have a dangerously long happy hour from 3pm to 8pm daily. And you can buy an entire bottle of whiskey to drink here with just an $8 corkage fee, which sounds like a fun way to end up on the no-fly list. The menu is awfully large, but if you make it for lunch—along with the nearby blue collar workers and eight members of the US Coast Guard—then you should focus on the sandwiches (we like the steak and maduro) and thick burgers. It’s filling, affordable, and fast enough for you to make it back in time for your flight to JFK." - Virginia Otazo, Mariana Trabanino

Google
What a little gem this place is! My travel agent found it for me and I'm so glad she did. It's not much to look at outside, but don't let that fool you-the atmosphere inside and the food are amazing. I had the huevos period with a side of sausage, a cortado, and a mamey shake. Everything was soo fresh and flavorful, and I could taste that it was made with love, as all the best food is known to be. Service was incredibly fast despite them being busy, I watched them turn around the entire place within 30-45 minutes of it being pretty much full. The sausage was probably the best and tastiest sausage I've ever had in my life-fair warning it was fried (not greasy though!) I had never heard of mamey so I had to try it, and my best description is sweet potato apple with a little bit of half-ripe cantaloupe that still has good flavor but isn't too sweet. It reminded me of a melted helado bar in the best way. The fresh squeezed orange juice is made to order on the counter by a fancy juicer, so you get to watch it come out! I was only passing thru the area, but you bet I will definitely be returning here next time I'm visiting Miami. Top notch, and reasonable prices! 😋😋😋

Google
This is Coast Guard inspectors lunch spot when doing exams on the Miami River. The food is amazing with a great variety of choices. The burger of the month is always my go to. Cool spot that doubles as a liquor store. Parking is difficult at times though due to a small lot with limited spaces. Service has always been great.

Miami’s Best Hidden Diamond 💎place. This is the very first place I stop when in town. First the staff is wonderful from the ladies talking your orders or the person at the register for the Cold Beer and Liquor and Cigars 😎😝 The Food is top level with one of the Best Cuban and Bistec (steak) Sandwiches you will have while visiting. I have not had a bad meal here through out the years and I have been coming to this establishment for more than 20 years. They have variety Colombian Argentinian empanadas and even the Cuban croquettes are all delicious. The Breakfast special is Fantastic! Eggs house potatoes bacon and Cuban toast amazing! So so many options to choose from top tier burgers, tacos, sandwiches, salads. Make sure to make this your # 1 spot when you arrive to MIA. It’s a short quick 5-10 minute Uber or taxi ride, literally across from the airport runways. Start off right with Great Food Cold Beer & Liquor to make your stay in Miami Spectacular! 😎✈️🏝️

Google
One of my favorite spots to goto whenever im near miami airport. The food is absolutely delicious I have never had a bad meal here everything is good and there lemonade one of best I had. The service is very good but place is a bit tight and gets crowded. Highly recommend.

Google
We travel to Florida from Europe twice a year, and without fail, our first stop and our last stop before heading home is always Miami — and the Airport Cafe. Breakfast and lunch here are a must every single time. We love the food, the welcoming atmosphere, and especially the amazing staff. We still talk about this place even after we get back home. On our most recent visit in December 2025, the team surprised us with a bottle of wine and Christmas wishes, which truly made our day. Thank you again, guys! We highly recommend this place to everyone.

Google
Well Am I biased cause I've been here while on training for the MD-11F at the Boeing facility?! Naaah the food is great AND the crew is just WONDERFUL. You happened to be around and hungry... well dont hesitate!!

Google
This place is legend!! I've ate here many times. Weekly special that changes every week. Doesn't matter what it is, it's always delicious. And cuban coloda is perfect.

Yelp
This place is so good. The staff is kind and now that I've gone as often as I do many times they remember my order. The menu options are just incredible with so many great choices. The specials are amazing too. Many times would never think to combine the ingredients, but wow! When you try them they are fantastic. The Dr Pepper burger is so good. The breakfast wonderful. The cafe con lech....delicious. The place is clean and well stocked. I really love this place and go often.

Yelp
Walked in at a really slow pace time and the girls there were absolutely quick to get me seated and ready to feast. I asked what was better between a cubano and a burger and I got steered toward the hamburger with bacon and ham. Soon I got served a juicy, medium cooked monster looking at me. One of the best hamburgers I've had in a non pretentious establishment. Good job

Jennifer C.

Yelp
food was great, service was not. Split plate charge was more then on the menu. i'd get takeout next time or try somewhere else.

Yelp
Hidden Gem!!!! OMG! The staff are INCREDIBLE and the food has so much flavor. My family and I stumbled across this restaurant and it was perfection. The prices are affordable and it's a great casual dining restaurant. The plantain chips with the sauce is 10/10 & the burgers are delicious. Not to mention, the plantains chips are fried fresh not store bought. Definitely planning my next visit!
google avatar

Yelp
Local staple everyone should try!! I've been going to the airport cafe for years now and have never been disappointed. There is always sitting available even when busy, and the staff are friendly and prompt. The food comes out very fast and appears to be made to order. They are open 24 hours and you can go for anything from breakfast to dinner. I tried the chicken breast sandwich on my last visit and was amazed! This is by far the best item I've had. The chicken breast is big, very well seasoned, and filling. It comes with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and mini fries. The menu is pretty large and has plenty of options for everyone. I would highly recommend it.

Yelp
Love this place! So happy I was able to comeback and it survived after COVID. Always fresh, high quality food. Extensive menu with vegetarian options available now as well. Staff are primarily Spanish speaking but you can order in English with no issues. Friendly service and friendly atmosphere in general. Good vibes with locals laughing and singing along to music. Great place to stop and grab a bite to eat, have a drink of do both!
google avatar

Yelp
This whole in the wall is near the airport. When you walk in one side is bar/restaurant and the other side is the liquor store. We came because we got dropped off early for our flight and wanted something outside of the airport. This place was full of people and you can tell a lot of regulars come here. Food was amazing! And their cafe con leche was sooo good. The burgers are huge and sharable. We got the two most popular burgers and both were flavorful. Next time I'm in Miami this will be my first stop
google avatar

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem. My family got stuck in MIA having missed our connecting flight home, and we found this place less than .5 miles from our hotel. Lucky us! The specialty burger with apricot glaze was among the best burgers I have ever eaten. My wife's pork tacos were a stand out, and the tostones were on point. Everything we ordered was delicious and really generous portions. Come hungry, and you will definitely leave satisfied.
google avatar

Ayesha R.

Yelp
Came here for a bite to eat because I heard the burgers here were delicious. I had to share my burger with my cousin cause I could not see myself eating the whole thing. The waitress was so nice that they split my burger so we could share my fries and burger. The plantain chips and garlic sauce was freshly done and tasted amazing. The atmosphere was clean and so nice that it has its own liquor store in there. The decor has a diner feel has inside and outside seating. I like the fact you can buy the liquor and a drink and they will serve it to you. They also serve breakfast and smoothies. I will be back so my husband could try the burger.

Yelp
I work in this area and the food is delicious-- everyday they have some awesome type of specials - from meats to sandwiches or tacos-- the chef just makes some really good latin fusion food. I've had several sandwiches that are amazing and sometimes just stop by for a quick steak, rice and beans .. The service is rather quick... especially for the lunch rush.

Yelp
This was our first stop after we left the airport. The food, the drinks, the staff. Everything was great. We also purchased alcohol to drink in our hotel and for our cruise. The alcohol was standard prices. I'm from Chicago, so alcohol wasn't overpriced, to me.
google avatar

Ivy S.

Yelp
The food is always fresh and tasty, the service on point and the ambiance as expected from a cafeteria setting :)

Yelp
We came here directly after our flight into Miami, and this place is definitely...a vibe. Like, part 7-11, part strip mall liquor store, part Waffle House, part who-knows-what-goes-down here. At 4:00 pm on a Friday, the place definitely had some characters and we were along for the ride. We ordered a margarita and a frozen pina colada, and honestly, neither drink tasted like it had any alcohol in it whatsoever, but they were good as virgin drinks, maybe. For food we got the Dr. Pepper burger and the 'cuban' burrito along with a side of fresh veggies and fried plantains. The burger was unimpressive--too many toppings and the tomatoes were really hard and the whole thing was bland and we tasted no element of Dr. Pepprer at all. We did really like the burrito, which was like a deconstructed cuban sandwich with rice and beans and it was really tasty and flavorful. Also, it was huge! The fresh veggies were just some carrots, peppers, and broccoli drowning in butter, but we did love the plantains, especially that lime-garlic sauce that they came with. Service is no-nonesense, but fast and efficient, and the prices are reasonable. We're not sure what all the talk is about seeing airplanes take off because the view is mostly blocked by walls. While we wouldn't say that we had a good meal here, we would say that it was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience, so maybe it's to be done once. Three stars, and we wish them well.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Airport Cafe & Liquors is a great hidden spot. The food is great and full of flavor. This place is a must-try!
google avatar

Yelp
Such a convenient location to our hotel and we go to try a local establishment that people raved about. We were in Miami the night before cruising and definitely did not want to go far. I've never actually tasted a cuban sandwich so this was the perfect time. The staff barely spoke English so I assumed we were going to get the full cuban sandwich experience. I opted for a hamburger but my friend got a steak sandwich so we could get a taste of each. I was not impressed with the hamburger but you can't really go wrong. The steak sandwich was a little underwhelming because it looked like it was suppose to taste waay better than it actually was. The atmosphere was a really warm and homey feel, definitely felt like a local favorite. Although, I was not a fan of what we ordered, I would definitely give Airport Cafe another try! There were so many varieties on the menu that looked really good.

Yelp
Well, once again an amazing meal(s). Passing thru and brought 2 friends along, they absolutely loved it. Amazing food, great atmosphere and wonderful service at a very reasonable price. Keep up the great work!!
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
Less than 10 minutes from the airport and portion sizes are huge and delicious. Food came out quickly. Full bar to have a drink while you eat and/or booze to go.
google avatar

Gustavo F.

Yelp
The burger was so good! I had the burger of the month which was recommended by the waitress, which was so nice. I believe her name started with an M. Dont quite remember. But burger had beans, corn, a fried plantain which was completely unexpected but everything together tasted so well and guess what, the burger didnt fall apart when you'd eat it which is great in my book lol. I had a croqueta, a yumy one lol The ambiance is nothing crazy, very normal setting, you can buy drinks, cigars, theres a bar as well. A good spot to stop by before flying out to your next destination. I'd definitely come back to try any burger or sandwich of the month.
google avatar

Bennie L.

Yelp
This place is a hoot! Restaurant and liquor store, which coordinate well. Small place and I can't explain the ambiance, awesome! Cozy and friendly! The staff is so warm and accommodating. The food was delicious!
google avatar

Steve U.

Yelp
Massive sandwiches & specials that change weekly. Reasonable prices and fast service. Great that you can grab a beer with your meal & also shop for Liqour right there. Local fave whenever I'm travelling thru miami.
google avatar

Anthony K.

Yelp
MUST STOP !!! When You are in the local area, this is a must visit. When traveling, I always go to where the locals go. This is definitely a hidden treasure. It's a very tiny café with limited seating. It probably has the best local cuban food I've had yet in Miami.
google avatar

Neil H.

Yelp
This place is amazing. If you are in Miami or even have a long layover at the airport- hop in an uber and try this place out. When I travel to Miami we always go there for lunch, sometimes multiple times in the week. I've had cubans, media noche, the Dr Pepper burger, Pan con Bistec (steak sandwich) - these are all go-tos and always perfect. Reading other Yelpers reviews looks like I've only scratched the surface of what they offer, for sure I will be back to try others. This place is a really popular lunch spot and the dining room/patio aren't huge so be patient with the service- it is worth it. It's a true hole-in-the wall and the integrated liquor store certainly gives it a unique vibe.
google avatar

De'Anna W.

Yelp
Um, yes! Do yourself a favor and have a meal here. I've stayed at a nearby hotel several times, and never knew this café was such a short walk. I actually ended up coming here for both dinner and breakfast the next day. Dinner: guava bbq chicken came w/ 2 sides and I chose rice+beans and sweet plantains. Paired with an angry orchard cider (happy hour). Breakfast: the best oatmeal I've ever had made with almond milk fresh bananas and strawberries in a huge bowl, 2 pancakes that had a nice cinnamon taste and a fresh pressed orange/carrot juice. I randomly looked up their IG while waiting for my food and realized the super nice guy that kept checking on us was in fact the owner/chef and has a pretty popular page with tons of mouth watering food pics. @chefreuben The staff was very nice, the place is clean, the portions are filling and the prices are good (you just have to ask for them).

Yelp
One thing about me, two things for sure, I LOVE hidden gems. My initial itinerary included stops at Lil Havana and the Wynwood District. At last, not all plans come to fruition. We "settled" here based upon location, price point, and reviews. Think Cuban/Latin Cheers (Where everybody knows your name ). The food was good and the service was great! We ordered empanadas, chicken tacos, ham and cheese sandwich, and Cuban black beans and rice. Everything was tasty. This is a great middle of the road establishment. Traveling with picky eaters , Want to sample Latin/Cuban food , looking for a casual friendly establishment , and mindful of budget . This place hits a lot of high notes and we appreciated the experience. As far as ambiance and decor. A small dinner is what you can expect, with both indoor and outdoor seating. On the evening we were there plenty of locals. This restaurant also provides liquor and wine options. If you decide to bring wine on board your cruise, you have a selection to choose from. We adored this restaurant and would definitely eat here again!

Jimmy S.

Yelp
I found this place by accident while staying in Doral and was amazingly surprised! Their food is great and you definitely get your moneys worth. Lots of different Cuban food choices. I got the Cuban burrito and I was able to get 3 meals out of it. I make it a point to always go here when I'm the Miami area.
google avatar

Rob Snow S.

Yelp
Food Network missed this hidden gem! So I usually have a work trip in Miami a couple months out of the year, and I always stay at the EB Hotel. Next to the EB is a Pollo Tropical, but because of Hurricane Ian...they were closed. I was a little discouraged, but I decided to ask the front desk what else was close and he suggested Airport Cafe. Don't let the generic name fool you, this is now home of the best burger I've ever had!!! When you first walk in it's a hybrid diner style, but it's also got this long bar with liquors you can purchase, and single ciders or beers you can buy out of a freezer grocery style section. There is ample parking around the front and back of the cafe, and decent seating inside if you include the chairs around the bar. The menu is lengthy, and thats normally a red flag. A restaurant that is a jack of all trades typically is a master of none, but not here. When I say lengthy I literally mean a numbered menu with about 100 items. Granted some of those can seem like duplicates, they aren't completely unique especially when we are talking breakfast, but thats still very impressive for such a small establishment. The food is outstanding, I had the "Dr. Pepper Burger" cooked to medium perfection. It's a bourbon glazed burger, traditionally pepper jack cheese but I customized mine at no extra charge with cheddar. There is so much flavor in the patty and toppings, sandwiched in with a soft warm bun. It's hefty, you don't even need sides (they come separate). Pricing was very interesting, remember that incredibly long menu I mentioned before? Well they don't have a listed price on the menu, that comes from the server you happen to get that day. I find this to be a very unique quirk that you'd see on a "Diners. Drive-ins and Dives", where the 100 menu item price list is memorized but your server. Others could be put off by the possible errors that could be made with such lengthy variations. Burger ($15.00) Curly fries (4.00) Overall, I was incredibly pleased with the food, service and location. It's true what they say, when you receive good service you often don't hear about it. The customer just leaves and goes about their day. But if it's bad, they'll tell everyone. I got to the end of my review and noticed I hadn't said a word about the service, and it fit within that category...it was good. Not over the top special but just right, and I'd like to shared that...HA! Pro tip: Kiss the cook! Or you could follow him and leave a like, The chef has his IG posted on the front of the menu. My girlfriend spotted him in the restaurant as we looked him up, he came over greeted us with a smile and a fist bump.

Yelp
On every trip to Miami I find my way back to this spot for a solid meal that won't take long. It's your quintessential "hole-in-the-wall" joint that's serves great sandwiches, especially their Cuban. About a mile from the airport entrance/exit, this spot has counter top seating and tables. It doubles as a liquor store as well... the staff are friendly and the food is legit. They also do breakfast as well. Along with the Cuban sandwich (no pics), I ordered myself a fresh squeezed OJ, which was awesome. They did serve it in a styrofoam cup, which is not ideal, but it is what it is. Anyways, if you're looking for a casual spot for breakfast or lunch near the Miami airport, this place should be on the top of your list.

Clint G.

Yelp
Don't let the outside fool you. The outside is a little underwhelming, but once you walk in a whole different story. Clean, updated, and the food is so good. A huge menu so plenty of options. Seriously, don't count this place out if you're hungry
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a great find. I stayed in Miami for a day eachbefore and after a trip to the Caribbean. Not wanting to eat at the hotel, my spouse suggested we try a place that he had heard about and that our taxi driver suggested: Airport Liquor. The first night we shared the mahi-mahi tacos and the chicken quesadilla special which came with fries. We also got a small bottle of Absolut and a few cans of tonic water. We took it back the the hotel and had a little picnic. The food was fantastic, especially the tacos, but we got way too much food. After our trip we returned to Airport Liquor and ate there. We again got the mahi-mahi tacos to share and paired them with Grey Goose and tonics. They brought us a pitcher of ice (with a scoop) and lime slices for our drinks. The tacos weren't quite enough food so the waitress suggested we try the empanadas. She explained the differences between Columbian-and Argentinan-style empanadas and we opted for her favorite - the Columbian. The corn casing was crisp and tender with delicious fillings. Airport Liquor has a really cool vibe. There are regulars who are known by the staff as well as tourists like us. I will go back every time I am in Miami.

Cathleen R.

Yelp
ONE OF MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS!!!!! The food is always delicious. I ordered this week's special which was the carne asada and the Mongolian glazed chicken quesadilla. DELICIOUS! Staff are also always so attentive. Great ambiance. Overall amazing experience!

Yelp
Don't sleep on this place. That's all I gotta say. Came here on a whim. On our way back from a cruise. It's next to our hotel. Well worth it. Everything is great. edit. I got the Pork Adobo. FIRE. Don't sleep on the garlic / anemone sauce. SLAPS. Everything here was amazing.

Yelp
Food is always good , but todays 15 min wait for food turned into a whole hour despite calling in advance . Terrible , considering I was extremely pressed for time .

D S.

Yelp
Nice reply from the owner. Do you charge for sauce to go as well? For full orders? Do you also charge for sauce when customers want to eat there? You said send receipt but left no way to do so. Nice attitude buddy. Definitely never coming back. Who cares about 19 years. You're only as good as your next customer. You should know that. Take care.

Clover R.

Yelp
Food was AMAZING!!! Cozy little place. Only problem was the SLOW service. We were sat down pretty quick but when our server left to give us time to think about what we wanted we were waiting for a good 20 minutes. We had to flag down another server to take our order. When our actual server came to ask if our order got taken, it had been an hour. They brought two meals after another 30 minutes of waiting and my grandpa had to wait 10 more for them to bring HIS food. To top it off the bathrooms have NO AC, felt musty, and they were dirty. Again the food was great but i just cant go back to a restaurant that forgets about their tables and has an unclean bathroom :(
google avatar

Tamisha R.

Yelp
This was recommended to us. Very close to the airport and hotels. We had the sandwich of the week, burger of the month, guava barbecue shrimp red rice, and red rice and beans I would recommend all of the meals we had. There portions are pretty big. The food was was very flavorful. Service was wonderful. I would also recommend the virgin strawberry daiquiri.
google avatar

Yelp
My god was I disappointed. My girlfriend was so excited me take me here, and after 20 mins of being seated after our drink orders were taken. We couldn't get a single staff member take our order. I tried to wave down our waitress many a time to no avail. Don't waste your money here. Disrespectful.

Richard D.

Yelp
Food is awesome loaded with flavor the medianoche number one The staff is very good and on top of it

Yelp
My friend and coworker brought me here this afternoon. Amazing dishes, perfectly prepared and plated. American diner feel but with delicious Latin Food. We each tried a little bit of each others dishes. The Lomo Saltado, Burger of the Month and Wrap were all on point. Glad I finally found out about this spot. Good Eats, Good Service and friendly staff. Definitely coming back. Mike O

Yelp
This place is SO good. Never knew about it until my boyfriend showed me and I want to pick this place up, and move it by me!!! I follow Chef Reuben on instagram he post the monthly & weekly specials. I have not once been disappointed!

Yelp
Great coffee! $3.25 for a caramel latte which is cheap. Open at 6am so convenient. I took off a star because they use stryofoam cups. I didn't know those were still available in the USA. Please switch to paper!!

Yelp
My second time eating here in person but I've ordered to-go many times... let me say the food here gets better every time. Chef Ruben makes food for the foodie inside all of us!

Yelp
Great gem best breakfast prices. Get the Cuban breakfast it's 6.99. And huge great flavor.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to eat in Miami every time I'm here. My trip isn't complete if i don't. The food always slaps. But the fruit shakes are top notch. The ladies working are always so welcoming.

Yelp
If you haven't tried this place out, you MUST! I've already visited this place a few times, and needless to say, I've been very satisfied. On my visit today (lunchtime hours), I had the Jameson Apricot Glazed Cheddar Cheeseburger (SOBE festival best burger winner) and my partner had the special of the week (Nicaraguan style steak with gallo pinto, guacamole, slaw salad, and slightly fried cheese -- freaking mouthwatering!), a little jelly I didn't have this instead, but my burger was amazing and HUGE, so come with an appetite; they do not sell you short. They always have different specials such as burger of the month, sandwich of the week, platter of the week, etc. Moreover, if you are feeling thirsty - this place allows you to purchase wine bottles, spirit bottles, or beers and open it there to enjoy!
google avatar

Joshua S.

Yelp
I like this spot especially it's walking distance from where I stay at and they have good food as well and the restaurant itself is clean I even saw them clean before they were thorough
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
This place is right next to the airport and it's an odd spot, to say the least. It's a full liquor store and then the other half of it is like a ventanita cafe. You can sit at a table or at the bar or outside, I chose to sit at the bar. The menu didn't have pictures so I just ordered what sounded good, which was the Jameson Apricot glazed cheddar cheeseburger. It didn't say what was in it either lol -- I was feeling adventurous. This burger came and I was SHOCKED at the size. It was huge and had so much stuff in it!!! I literally didn't even see the egg until I turned it sideways. Obviously I wasn't able to finish it all but I wish I could because it was delicious! My favorite part was (what I assume) is fried cheese covered in Doritos. The prices are spot on and I wish I lived closer so I could try this place more often! 10/10!!!!

Yelp
Unique recipes, but always good flavors and portions are huge. Definitely worth a try.

Yelp
This little unassuming store --that looks from the airport perimeter road like a low brow beverage depot, with a vacant skeleton of an old gas station next door for parking-- is really a bustling cafe at night with drinks, and yes, you can pull down a bottle of Japanese Yamazaki for $200-1800 for carry out. Hell, you can even get a "Dr Pepper Bourbon Glazed Pepper Jack Cheeseburger" here. Uh-huh, it's a Dr Pepper-Bourbon reduction. Plus, Peter Piper never picked a better pepper jack to pair with Dr Pepper. My friend and I came back for breakfast, and they will even serve lunch or dinner items in the morning. Hello shrimp and grits!
