The Best Ramen In Philly

"Midtown Village’s Aki Nom Nom is one of the few ramen spots in the city offering outdoor seating. Whether you’re inhaling the fragrant Karai Tonkotsu on their outdoor setup or taking it to go, the earthy spice of the black garlic oil and the rich and milky broth make this a dish that’s hearty and silky smooth." - candis mclean

Google
Aki Nom Nom is hands down the best sushi I’ve found in Philly. I did the all-you-can-eat sushi for $34 and definitely got my money’s worth — everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The restaurant is super cute, clean, and surprisingly spacious, which made for a really relaxed dining experience. I probably overindulged (hard not to!), but I felt pretty sluggish afterward — so next time I’m definitely asking for low sodium soy sauce. If you love sushi, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back!

Google
You have to be a person to love sushi 🍱 and ramen 🍜 to love spots like this. The ramen and sushi were fresh and delicious. This is a kid friendly establishment, as well. The drinks were great (and strong), what I like, but tasty. I quick bite to fill up on Aki Nom Nom is the spot.

Google
Amazing time is an understatement. If you want a great spot for all you can eat sushi, this is it. Our waiter was super helpful with recommending saki and keeping the night light and fun. 👍👍👍

Google
AYCE sushi with a variety of appetizers. They don’t serve small portions of sushi. It’s the entire roll, so if you want to try multiple it’s better to go in a group.

Google
My favorite sushi spot. Gina is the best waitress and so is David and the manager Frank is also super kind. I've celebrated so many occasions here , they are really like family at this point. This place is also great for solo eaters. Don't be ashamed coming in by yourself to eat. I love coming to sit at the bar at 8:30/9 pm by myself or in a both to eat. I have sensory issues and food aversions & they never have a problem with me wearing my head phones or requesting adjustments to the all you can eat menu, due to my food aversions. Highly Recommended.

Google
Aki is truly a Philly Gem! The only place where you can do all you can eat for SPECIALTY Sushi lol. What I love most is their quality and fresh ingredients. I also appreciate their service and warm hospitality! They’re very welcoming to everyone and goes out their way to make you feel welcome. This place is perfect for first time Sushi guests! First dates that are adorable but still great for a first impression. I highly recommend it men! Take your lady out here! I really hope this place lasts for a long time.

Google
I was looking forward to a nice meal, but was horrified to find a fly in my food! When I brought it to the attention of the staff, they seemed interested but dint do much about it. It was shocking to see such a lack of concern for basic cleanliness and customer satisfaction. The rest of the meal felt ruined, and I couldn’t help but wonder about the overall hygiene of the kitchen. It’s a shame because the restaurant has potential, but finding an INSECT in my food was inexcusable. I definitely won’t be coming back, and I’d advise others to be cautious. Hopefully, management takes customer feedback seriously and improves their standards. Telling me the fly landed after the food was shared!! Lol and got fried with the Tofu? You guys are a joke.

Google
This place is cozy. I enjoy going there after work. The Tan Tan Ramen noodles are the best. They have a great Happy Hour menu. The prices are inexpensive. If you are ever in Center City, this is a great place to go.

Yelp
one of my favorite places in the city. the all you can eat sushi option is fantastic and a great deal. all of the employees are so kind and the service is amazing. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Aki Nom Nom seemed like a good spot to drop by for ramen, so my friend and I came here for dinner, which was probably our first mistake because as soon as we started eating, we noticed that everyone else around us was here for the AYCE sushi, and not ramen. I might come here next time to give their sushi a chance, but their ramen was NOT it. Pros: food was aesthetic and looked great in photos. Cons: the ramen was so unbearably salty. I understand some ramen can be an umami flavor bomb, and I've had great ramen in Japan, but this was just salty, no depth, period. I had to dunk my noodles in water to wash out the salt. I'm not sure if this is a one time mishap, but don't come here for the ramen. Their AYCE sushi looked good though (may try in the future). Besides that, staff was polite and attentive, and we came in without reservations.

Yelp
I've been meaning to come here for a long time now. Any place that offers great quality, all-you-can-eat sushi is a place for me. The fact that they also offer ramen is just a plus. I didn't opt in for the all you can eat option this time around, but I most definitely will next time! The food was great, the service was excellent, and I love the vibes here. Come see it for yourself.

Michael B.

Yelp
Not sure why this place isn't 5 stars across the board. Staff were incredibly polite and attentive. Salmon nigiri and rolls were phenomenal. AYCE aside, some of the best sushi I've had in Philly so far. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Yelp
Stopped here on a Friday night while working in the area. With things closing relatively early, it is somewhat hard to find a place to eat after getting off at 9/9:15. I made a reservation and he headed there. Anyway - situated in the city, we ventured in and found parking at an adjacent garage. Things got off to a rough start when, being there at 10pm with a closing at 11, they told us the AYCE option on the menu wouldn't be possible. Now, granted we weren't going to order that, but it was a polite way of steering us away from it. Waiter was nice and attentive - Asian gent that worked Friday night. We ordered some apps: buns, gyoza, takioki, as well as sushi. For the entree I went with the shoyu tonkotsu ramen with pork chashu and a volcano roll. The buns were very good - a nice portion of protein and sauce. Gyoza was standard and very solid. Takioyaki was also standard as well and on-par with what we have ordered before. The sushi was very good - and in terms of the size of the roll was very impressive. The ramen aesthetically didn't look great - but the flavor was there. Very good. I didn't get an egg and mentioned that to my buds and the waiter asked if I wanted one and brought me one back. Pretty cool and again showing his attentiveness. Overall - this was really good. Only downfall is for 1hr 1min parking it was $27. That's robbery.

Yelp
Great service, price, and best AYCE sushi menu around including the appetizers. Paid parking garage across the street makes it very convenient. We will be back

Yelp
I live in center city so this is one of the most convenient places to get ramen without having to go to chinatown! While it doesn't have places in chinatown beat, it does have some great things going for it. I avoid eating pork so i v much appreciate they have an option for chicken chashu - the meat is juicy and well seasoned unlike a lot of neglected chicken chashus ive had. But the real winner is their spice bomb made with habanero peppers. I cant have ramen here without it! It goes so well with the tonkatsu broth (which is my go-to) and completely elevates the flavor. I usually dont write about the staff because i more so care about the food than anything, but it's worth noting that the general manager is also super nice and very considerate of any needs/complaints.

Yelp
First restaurant after landing in Philly. I was starving, placed a huge order after a few of my coworkers joined me. The waitstaff and Servers were very accommodating, we had no reservations and a large group of 10. We were seated in the center of the restaurant. There was lots of food, family style. I can't remember all the items but the standouts were the chicken gyoza and shrimp shumai for appetizers, those were delicious. For entrees some of my favorites were the bento box with teriyaki salmon and fried chicken, so good. We also ordered a few rolls that were tasty, it was an all you can eat sushi menu. I passed on the sweets but I enjoyed a glass of Toki Santury Japanese whiskey. Excellent finish for a great night with friends, food and fun.

Yelp
My friend and I visited on a Wednesday night and were seated right away. We ordered the Tofu Ramen and Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, and both dishes were delicious. I really enjoyed the Inari tofu in the Ramen, though I do wish there had been more than just three small pieces. Service was efficient, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. If you're looking for a decent ramen spot in Center City, Aki Nom Nom is definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Lunchtime Bento box special with teriyaki chicken, California rolls, shui mai, salad, rice. I asked for double salad instead of rice. It ends up being a lot of food for lunch and I ended up with leftovers for the afternoon. Lunch special is a few dollars cheaper than dinner prices. Chicken was pretty plain and pale looking. Could use more time on the grill at higher heat to caramelize the outside. I found myself saving the california rolls as my favorite part of the meal, which is underwhelming!

Yelp
Ate here with friends during Pax at the convention center. They were pretty busy but our server Simon was calm and attentive. Edamame, gyoza, and karaage appetizers were all delicious. Most of our party ordered ramen entrees which were nice portions and also very delicious. All of the food came quickly and was well-priced considering the location.

Yelp
service was quick and friendly, and the inside was fairly clean and put together. we got the ayce sushi. everything was okay at best. rice was mushy, and many of the rolls were stuffed with tempura flakes, leaving not much room for actual fish. [6/10]

Yelp
This place is fantastic! I had the Aki Nom Nom, the pork belly was out of this world! Magic ginger tini drink is incredible! Staff is friendly and prompt!

Yelp
While in Philadelphia, this is a must restaurant for sushi. The all you can eat menu is extensive. Every item from the spring roll to seaweed salad to the sashimi was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. The staff here is absolutely friendly and attentive. There is no rush at all. We never felt pushed to finish or order too quickly. The price for being in the city was quite reasonable. Parking is difficult but the restaurant has many, many tables. There really is not one thing I could say that needs improvement here.

Lima C.

Yelp
Amazing service and amazing food. We did the all you can eat option which was great and the server was super accommodating and helped my vegetarian friend get the same quality of options that the rest of the party did - which isn't always easy with sushi. It was a spot we happened to walk into and it was fantastic. Happy hour sake was great as well!!
google avatar

Laura K.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant with my family members. Service was great! Waiters were friendly, helpful, patient, and attentive. Ambiance was fine, no complaints. I ordered the shrimp tempura ramen because I wanted a spicy option that also had an egg in it (without paying extra to add an egg). Would definitely go for pork or something next time- the tempura breading gets soggy and flavor just isn't doing much. Ramen was good but not to die for. We also tried the pork buns appetizer and enjoyed that!

Yelp
Reservation for group for AYCE sushi. They put all the sushi together in a large serving as shown. Much more artistic, but the service is slow (water, sushi, more orders, etc). Typically when you AYCE you want to bang out items back to back but definitely need to order in large batches here. Their AYCE appetizers are great. Service was also v friendly and reservation was completely smooth and amazing! Several of our group didn't want to AYCE and they still allowed them to sit with us together and they ordered their own food. This led to a mixup with the bill amount but we brought attention to it and it was fixed.

Yelp
Came for all you can eat sushi with my friends. Honestly, I'm not sure we were able to eat enough for the money to be worth it. A lot of the rolls were pretty bland and/or heavy on the rice. The service was weird in that our server never cleared our empty plates; just waited for us to push them aside before putting down more food. I'm always a fan of AYCE sushi, but I'm not sure I'd come back.
google avatar

Devon L.

Yelp
Decent spot for lunch but nothing to brag about. They're quick and service is usually pretty good. You can find better sushi nearby elsewhere but in a pinch they get the job done.
google avatar

Yelp
Ali is good but not spectacular. It appeased the sushi and ramen craving for my friends but I have had better. Service and ambiance was good.

Yelp
The best sushi around!!! FOOD IS GREAT!! I drive from jersey everytime I want sushi. The service is always great. Sushi is always fresh. Been going for quite awhile, never had a bad experience.

Yelp
Amazing Sushi! Love the place! Great happy hour specials! The staff was very nice and attentive. Will be back again!

Yelp
This restaurant blew my expectations for AYCE sushi away! It was MUCH better than anticipated and the best AYCE sushi that I can remember having. I can't believe it was $33 per person ($40 upgrade available to sashimi). To start, I came in for an early dinner as I skipped lunch due to travel delays earlier in the day. The restaurant was mostly empty at this time except for some patrons at the bar that I could only assume were local regulars as they had amazing report with the wait staff and seemed to know everyone that came into the restaurant. It was a very fun atmosphere that quickly got busy by 6:00 p.m. on weekday. I ate my face off. I mostly like fresh fish with minimal rice and I was delivered just that. It was so good!
google avatar

Miles A.

Yelp
Came to try this spot for their all you can eat sushi option. They have an extensive list to choose from, and you may need to remember which ones you ordered if brought out all at once. Depending on how much you order at once or your group size, the order may come out a bit slow. Nice atmosphere inside but saw some of the staff running around which was a bit disruptive. The ingredients used were pretty good and the presentation was nice as well. It's a very good deal if you're very hungry for sushi and want to try a bunch of different rolls or other appetizers that are included in the package.

Yelp
Looks like my last review of this place was over 6 years ago and I'm happy to say I still come here often to have AYCE sushi with friends. FANTASTIC customer service every time, quick service, and for the price you pay, good sushi and sashimi. I'm not going to say I'm an expert in sushi and sashimi but if you're looking for a good time with good quality food, I'd come here.
google avatar

Jose D.

Yelp
The staff were friendly and the food was good. I liked the space and ambience, even though I was there late evening and I was the only customer there.

Yelp
Great spot for all you can eat sushi. We Went on a Friday and it was Pretty busy - tel he food was fresh and tasty.

Yelp
Steep dinner prices but if you can the lunch menu it's good sushi for a reasonable price. Lunch menu is where it's at.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here for all-you-can-eat sushi on a Saturday. Not super busy, no wait. Still, service was a little slow, having to wait about 15 minutes for any dish to come out; highly recommend placing another order as soon as each dish comes out to ensure a constant flow of food to get your money's worth. In terms of price, sushi and sashimi is just under $40 for all-you-can-eat -- on the high side but not terrible. In general, the rolls were pretty good; we only ordered special rolls. Only suggestion would be to remove the special sauces (chili sauce, sriracha, chef's sauce) as those slightly tainted otherwise nicely done rolls. Highly recommend the shumai. That appetizer was really tasty and crisp. The sashimi was pretty good; favorite was the salmon.
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
tl;dr: very decent AYCE sushi spot that will satisfy all sushi cravings for a decent price. At $32 for AYCE, this sushi spot is a great deal, with a more premium option available for those looking to splurge a little. Don't expect top quality fish or assortments; do expect friendly faces and quick service. Pricing: AYCE sushi is $32, though they do have a more premium offering for $40. Food: AYCE comes with the standard assortment of sushi rolls, hand rolls, and appetizers (miso soup, edamame, salad) that is expected. The rolls are fresh and will satisfy your sushi cravings! Some of their tempura rolls are overly drizzled in a sweet sauce that can mask the taste of the fish. A few of their special rolls were also on the saltier side. And if you're in the mood for something different, their ramen is a delicious surprise (not included on the AYCE menu). Rich broth, well done noodles, and the pork belly was very tender but not overly melting-in-your-mouth. Vibes & Service: bathroom was clean, servers were friendly and attentive. Greeter was a little on the rude side -- asked where we would like to sit (by the window or further inside of the restaurant) but seated us before we could reply. There is very little street parking, so expect to park in a paid lot nearby and walk over.
google avatar

Jud D.

Yelp
We rolled into town after a 6 hour delay at the airport to find this place right across the street from our hotel. Perfectly priced, Nom Nom hit the spot for a group of hungry folks. All you can eat sushi for $32, tuna tataki, shrimp tempera, and a lot more. Best waiter we had during our visit and a great atmosphere. Go there, it's great!
google avatar

Brandi I.

Yelp
Service wasn't great, we sat ourselves outside just to get a table, but then we had to remind the staff repeatedly that we were outside before someone came to take our order. I didn't have the sushi, it looked amazing! The ramen however was disappointing. When we got our ramen it was like it had been ready for awhile because it wasn't hot. My pork had gotten cold, and it was a little over cooked. It wasn't very flavorful. The stock was watered down. The atmosphere is great, but it's Philly so parking isn't awesome. Don't park in front of the restaurant. You'll likely get a ticket.
google avatar

Abraham K.

Yelp
The service is really friendly. Clean interior and the sushi wasn't bad. They have a good mix of beer, wine, sake, and cocktails too.

Carlos L.

Yelp
Hands down the best sushi in center city the price for all you can eat is amazing and the sushi it's self was perfect avocado is there filler for sushi instead of rice or that orange cream much better substitute.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
We all agreed that our top 4 special rolls from this place were: 1) Sumo tempura roll (we ordered this rolls THREE TIMES!!) Spicy snow crab, salmon diced, avocado, jalapeno, cream cheese, seaweed on the outside, topped with Chef's masago sauce 2) Osaka roll Spicy yellowtail with jalapeno wrapped with mango, drizzled with Chef's sauce 3) Kobe roll Spicy scallop, avocado roll, topped with spicy salmon, bonito, garnished with scallion and drizzled with Chef's special sauce (We were a bit disappointed that we couldn't really taste much scallop part) 4) Cancun roll Smoked salmon skin, avocado, topped with spicy salmon & drizzled with Sriracha I won't recommend to order the "Pacific tuna tempura roll" & "Aki tempura roll" because the batter was too thick and the overall texture was heavy We ordered most of the appetizers to try out, the only one that we didn't like was the "Fried Calamari" because it came out cold and a bit soggy and I believe that they probably fried ahead of time to serve. There are few appetizers that we really enjoyed from here as well: 1) Sashimi appetizer (highly recommend) Their sashimi was really fresh, but it's limited to order only one per person, so you must try one! 2) Chicken yakitori It was a really good grilled chicken dish without wet sauce on, the skin was a bit dry but the meat was tender. 3) Pork katsu We liked it for its really crispy skin with curry sauce on top! 4) Seaweed salad We liked its sweet & refreshing taste! 5) Vegetable tempura I believe vegetable tempura is the most easy way to distinguish whether it is a good or bad Japanese restaurants, so I always order this dish to determine if I will recommend the place or not. I really liked the batter was thin but wasn't as crispy as I imagined. 6) Chicken gyoza It was a chicken potstickers/fried dumplings dish with sweet soy sauce. The skin was not too thick, but not that outstanding. 7) Miso soup & Mixed green salad (good options to eat with rolls & sushi) Miso soup was not that too salty. Mixed green salad was served with sweet ginger dressings. Both dishes were okay, not that outstanding, but will be good side dishes to pair with the rolls & sushi. Overall, I highly recommend this place for All-you-can-eat sushi. This could be a good option for a dinner date for a couple or a group of friends. We will definitely come back again when we're craving for sushi/rolls with reasonable price!
google avatar

Lila P.

Yelp
All you can eat sushi for about$34. Sushi and sashmi will cost more. Here you order off the menu and then you are served as you go. The sushi was pretty good. The service is a little bit slow because everything is made when ordered

Ian B.

Yelp
Service was super pleasant and food was delicious! Drinks were also tasty, went in on a Sunday afternoon and it was the perfect spot

Yelp
Salty at its finest. Service is good but the food is Garbo. Price is ok Watch out for the predator sitting at the bars
google avatar

Yelp
Haven't been out for dinner for a while and found that they have limited outdoor sitting for dinner in. Loved their buffet but it wasn't an option during this pandemic! They still have sushi and certain selected items available, the bento box was colorful and delicious, it boosted my mood instantly! Service was very nice as well. Go support them if you are around.

Yelp
A wonderful dining adventure with friends. We arrived on a Saturday night for dinner. We were seated immediately and appreciated excellent service and the food was spectacular. Rich creamy broths in the ramen and the sushi was fresh and flavorful.
google avatar

Limi L.

Yelp
I never had all-you-can-eat sushi in Philly until I came here. I didn't have a high expectation but the quality of the food and fish were just ok. There weren't a lot of all-you-can-eat options on the menu and the choices were limited compared to other places. Also, I had better quality sushi elsewhere that is all you can eat for cheaper prices. The service is decent. I did wait a long time during the second round and it wasn't that busy. Overall, it is not bad for city standards.
google avatar

Geoff G.

Yelp
Had lunch here with my son this past Saturday. The service was friendly and responsive. The dishes seemed pricey, but the servings were generous and the fish were fresh and full of flavor. Comfortable and cozy atmosphere. Always keeps the glasses filled with water!

Lucas O.

Yelp
Great service food and ambiance!! The all you can eat sushi and lunch deals are amazing, everytime ive gone everyone has been so sweet and food has been delicious!

Hchinvan C.

Yelp
Food was not fresh at all! Fish was very suspect. Rice rubbery. People very nice. Very disappointed. Many other options available in that area. Avoid at all costs.
google avatar

Alisha W.

Yelp
They removed most of actual sushi options like salmon or tuna in the All-You-Can-Eat-Sushi menu, so now you're left with bottom tier ones like eggs or shrimp "sushi", and just rolls. You have to pay extra every time you want to eat something like eel. It should be called Some-Rolls-You-Can-Eat. We used to enjoy going there, but not anymore. Hard pass. Don't go.

Yelp
So in my normal fashion when it's between two stars I round up. My younger son went here because he loves the cheap make at home ramen and I wanted him to try real ramen however he is quite picky. We had a waitress but a waiter overheard me asking which she recommended since he is picky and just wanted a basic ramen with just ramen and eggs and he recommended the Shio Chintan so we ordered that plain with an extra egg. I ordered the crispy shrimp appetizer and the 2 roll lunch special- I picked the spicy tuna and shrimp tempura roll. So my son still prefers cheap at home ramen but he did like it and the experience, he felt it was a bit peppery but he likes spice. The crispy shrimp was good, the sauce it came with was like extra spicy Mayo but I like spice too do it was good. The tuna roll was so good, I ate almost the whole thing immediately and barely touched the shrimp tempura roll. I also got shrimp yaki udon to go for my husband which he really liked along with our leftovers. I definitely want to go back and try ramen for myself. I like they're not afraid of spice and want to try the spicy ramen.

Minaz M.

Yelp
3 stars for the sushi but 2 stars for the rest of the food and service. The server was in such a RUSHHHH to take our order. We took maybe 15 seconds to decide whether to get a small or large ramen and in those 15 seconds, twice he asked "should I come back later to take your order?" The pork buns and Aki nom nom were horrible!! The aki tempura roll and volcano rolls were pretty good! The yellowtail jalapeño roll was alright.
