Akira Back Paris

"In the Prince de Galles hotel, this is the first European restaurant of American-Korean chef Akira Back. After a career as a professional snowboarder (he grew up in Aspen, home to the legendary ski resort), he turned his hand to cooking. He was recruited by Nobuyuki Matsuhisa and later became the executive chef at the renowned chef's restaurant. Diners are given the opportunity to taste this new take on Japanese cuisine, a real melting pot of cultures and flavours, including Back's speciality: AB Tuna Pizza. Meanwhile, feast your eyes on the sumptuous decor of this large modern restaurant with Art Deco light fixtures emitting subdued lighting, while the kitchen team busy themselves at the marble counter." - Michelin Inspector

A really fancy Asian fusion restaurant that takes sushi to the next level 🍣. The presentation is stunning, every dish feels like a work of art, and the flavors are bold and creative🎨. You can tell there’s a lot of thought behind each plate. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but worth it if you’re looking for a unique and elevated sushi experience. 🪄 I’d recommend the Tacos or the Tuna Pizza, which are both excellent. Great cocktails too! 🍹

Outstanding tasting experience, beautiful venue, excellent service, every single dish was creative and bursting w amazing flavors. However I wouldn’t take the Greatest Hit menu again. Don’t get me wrong, every single dish in this menu was excellent in presentation, execution and accompanying sauces, but the portion was too small for two people. Some of the sharing dishes if you ordered a la carte, you would get much bigger portion to share. Pls rethink the portion.

A dinner at the on-site restaurant - reservation is required. It is also open to non-hotel guests. During morning it serves breakfast for hotel guests. Everything is great from foods to services, just one little odd that the background musics doesn't seem to be in harmonic with the foods.

Every dish was wonderful! The filet tobanyaki was complex and rich with a wide variety of mushrooms creating a complex sauce. The king crab roll was a top 5 roll for me. The spicy miso soup was one of the best misos I’ve ever had. And definitely try the kimchi fried rice!

Had the most insane New Years Eve dinner here, one of the best meals ever, and given the enormous piece of wagu beef we got, not actually a bad deal as far as Paris 12/31 dinners go. All of the dishes were total standouts, but the wagu with truffles, wasabi and kimchi was absolutely spectacular, followed closely by the blue fin tuna, truffle bomb, smoked wagu pizza, dessert, everything was new interesting and creative. We got to meet the chef Paul who was super-nice, and our server Ana was absolutely wonderful and deserves a special shout-out. A very, very nice place and proof that top-quality Asian inspired food is a possibility in Paris.

The ambiance is nice and luxurious. The food is fine, but nothing extraordinary. The service is okay. Considering the status that tea holds in Japanese culture and the basic serving rules that a restaurant like Akira Back Paris likely aims—or should aim—to uphold, our experience was, to say the least, tragic. Tea here is served in basic, cheap, thick coffee/cappuccino cups (?!). 😂😱🤦🏻 An astonishing level of ignorance and disregard. An insult to any guest who orders tea in this restaurant. They also automatically bring sugar with the green tea (good thing they don’t bring lemon and rum too, 😂). It is also unbeelievable that a restaurant of this type and level, which either aspires to be or pretends to be, does not have sake warmers to maintain the proper temperature of the sake.

Second time dining here, never been disappointed. From starters to desserts, everything is super delicious. They make exquisite cocktails as well. Service is impeccable. Perfect for a date night.
