Al Basch Chicken

This is my go to Mediterranean place and probably one of my most used restaurants on Uber Eats and DoorDash. I decided to pick up my food in person one day and I was pleased to find out that their customer service is 10/10. They go above and beyond and are very friendly. This made me stop using the delivery apps and pick it up in person instead. The quality of the food is amazing and they serve generous portions. This place a hidden gem in Los Angeles. Ten’s across the board!

#1. Amazing food, the quality, and the customer service is the best I have received in a long time. I've ordered them on delivery apps and the food was always consistently great! In my greatest appreciation, I went shopping at the Ralphs grocery store and before shopping, my husband and I needed to grab a bite to eat. They are just across the street, on Fuller + Sunset, so we had the opportunity to dine inside, and I truly recommend too. A casual, clean, and local/family feel helped us unwind from the hustle of the day and enjoy our quick moment to grab a bite to eat. The tables and atmosphere was clean. Though we ordered it to-go, sitting at a table last minute was completely fine and encouraged. We sharded 1 dish and within our enjoyment of the dish, the staff welcoming greeted us with a hot appetizer plate of french fries. Perfectly crispy french fries with 2 dipping sauces. Just off the cuff, with the flow of the day, the staff treated us like old friends. With the nod of the head, "enjoy"! I felt like I was overseas, in the old country. Watching the Olympics on the big screen TV, we enjoyed high quality food with a touch of home style love. We look at each other, gotta go, should we order another.... They're very accessible hand sanitizer and napkins made it easy to stop, drop, and roll. With food still in hand, we left with a quick wave goodbye, "Thankyou, we'll be back". I highly recommend this resturant, rather delivery service or dining in. The food is freshly made and thats a fact. We have ordered from them so many times and no matter the time of day, it is always as expected + more.

The restaurant is clean and tidy. I got the falafel plate, but unfortunately it was not the best: the hummus was slightly bitter, the salad was too acidic and the falafel appeared not fully cooked.

Very good food in central Hollywood. This spot seems to have recently opened, judging by the very nice interior. They have several TVs playing sports, and ample seating, with tables set up for 2-8 people. I got the veggie plate (#12) and a coke. I thought it might have been on the expensive side, but i was very impressed with the amount and quality of food i received. there was a short wait, as everything was made to order. The falafel was great, and the salad was actually amazing - pretty unexpected for a hole in the wall place like this. I’ll be back!

I’ve been working my way through the various Mediterranean spots in this area, and while many have been good, this one is the best! The food quality, and value, is unmatched nearby. Excited to try more of the menu!

The place is always clean and has a great atmosphere. The food is consistently tasty and fresh. On top of that, Jamila is amazing—she’s very friendly, always cheerful, and makes you feel welcome every time. Great service and highly recommended!

Best Mediterranean food I have ever had. I live about an hour away and every time I try a different Mediterranean spot i regret not making the drive to here. I highly recommend their chicken kebabs and the Kafta kebabs. Their portions are super generous and staff is very nice. I highly recommend this place.

We meet the owners during an outing and got on the topic of food. I LOVE Mediterranean food, had some of the best and authentic when I was stationed overseas and some great deployment. While we live in Simi, the drive was more than worth it! The staff is great, friendly, and engaging. The food, of the food. I have had a lot of beef kabobs, but the meat here is exceptionally tender, and the flavor, omg! The FLAVOR. The Chicken Shawarma Wrap was amazing, too. The pitas were soft and just as I remembered from my travels, the cabbage in the wrap was flavored perfectly, and just delicious. Now... they have Greek Fries, and this is something new to us and glad we ordered them... DELICIOUS! One thing we noticed is that no matter who came in, it felt like they were welcoming family, including the three LAPD officers who came in for lunch. Oh, and I loved Zankou Chicken for years, but they have NOTHING, I mean NOTHING on Al Basch's chicken, hummus, or any of their other food!!! Don't let the strip mall fool you, the inside is beautiful, comfortable and as inviting as the people who work there. Whether you take a drive to get here, work in the area , or just a walk down the street, this is a must stop and worth every bite!

I ordered through uber eats. I ordered the chicken kebab plate, first thing I love the "Happy New Year" message. Super nice. The food was delivered hot, it is very delicious . I will defiantly be ordering from here again.

This, this is it! This place has always made me feel like I am eating at a happy home and everything tastes like home. Every time I go the quality is the same, great. I can see and feel their pride on their customer service and the way the restaurant runs. It's clean, cozy, everything a restaurant should be. I've been going there for 7 years and it's the only one that makes me feel this way. It's not only the food but the people that serve it and how they do it. Thank you all for always making me feel at home.

This place is killer. Great portions, amazing sides with the plates and everything tastes authentic and will fill you for the entire day. Mixed shawarma plate is my go to. Haven't eaten here since I've moved a little farther out of the way but I'll plan to come by soon!

Do yourself a favor and taste the delicious flavor of Al Basch! Food is impeccable, service is top and ambiance is ideal for all parties. Worth the 20 mile drive from our home! I am so happy that I gave this place a try. I think it will be a new go to for Arabic food. I enjoyed every bite of my chicken shawarma wrap. Everything was fresh, flavorful and authentic. I got a side of hummus and tabuleh salad and they both were delicious. The service was fast and friendly and they have plenty of parking in a private lot. Can't wait to go back and try something new!

This is my go to spot for a shawarma any day! Pretty quick service and simple no frills spot. They have some parking in the strip mall but lots of street parking too.

Omg this place is a gem! Food is amazing! I tried new things for the forest time and was taken back by the amazing flavor. Maurice brought us out samples Tabouli wow! Falafel made perfectly! A hidden gem. Seriously. I love this place and the owner is A very nice man ( I think he's the owner) But the food is so good, and their garlic spread is out of this world. Very nice dinning area with two large tvs usually playing sports. Very good atmosphere, and again INCREDIBLE food.

If they are still in business, it means they are doing something right! No restaurant will and can keep every customer happy! Now that I got that out of the way... I have been to this restaurant several times and I am very happy. The chicken kabob special is great ... price is great as well! If you are a soccer fan, you will definitely enjoy the ambience with watching soccer on large TV screens. Come in and check it out for yourself... if you feel the food is bland... ask the mom for some sumac! That will definitely give you a citric taste with your chicken or meat! the food here was so delicious. probably the best Mediterranean place i've ever been to. the flavor is deeply embedded into each item here, i'm now obsessed and need to take everyone i know here! huge portions here, you could split the meal into two or even three if you're a small eater lol. chicken shawarma plate was perfect. i especially loved the garlic dip, it just adds so much more dimension in flavor to the already flavorful chicken. the salad was fresh and the creamy dressing was yummy. hummus was so smooth and creamy, loved it. i also got two falafels on the side which were perfectly crisp and herby, the way it should be! so soft and fresh on the inside tho. i also got a steak kabob and it was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful with a few additional grilled veggies such as pepper, onion, tomato. i only went here yesterday but i know i will be back very soon. service was very fast/friendly and they keep it super clean. this place is a real gem

The place was clean and staffs were very kind. The chicken shawarma plate was absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the accompanying rice and salad complemented the flavors perfectly. The portion size was generous, and the presentation was appealing. Overall, a satisfying and flavorful meal that I would highly recommend!

I woke up craving the wara2 3emab ( vine leaves ) from this place. It's my favorite Lebanese bites go to. The owners son is usually there and he is very friendly. Love Al Bach

Don't let grungy area fool you - THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. It's got delicious food and you can tell Maurice and his family is really passionate about what they do. We got the chicken shawarma and kebab plates and everything was fresh and flavorful and delicious. Very good portions for the price too. GET SOME FALAFEL. Maurice kindly handed us some to try before we were leaving and I know I will be coming back to order some. I haven't tasted falafel like it before - it was so moist and tender and the spices used were incredible. I want all falafel to taste like Al Basch falafel. I've ordered several times, the food is fresh and flavorful. The portions are good as well. My favorite is both chicken and beef kabob.

Probably my favorite Shawarma joint in the greater SoCal region. The beef Shawarma with the garlic sauce is on point. The hummus and tabouli remind me of my grandmothers-delish! Gotta give 5 stars for the food and friendly staff- great job! Can't wait to get back.

This place is hollywoods best kept secret. They have the best beef shawarma I've ever had, and you can get it in a sandwich/wrap! The service was just as amazing, employees were smiling and had the best attitudes. Bathrooms were very clean which is something you don't see a lot of now! I will definitely be coming back!

Can't believe this place is so good and so close to me. Juicy chicken plate rice, hummus, salad, pickle and dipping sauce. Under $20 w tip. Very clean place.

The inside place is clean and if you follow them on Instagram you get a free drink! The grape leaves were interesting - my first time trying them! They were cold and had a tart pickled taste! The chicken shawarma had a crispy and warm pita and it's less sour than the grape leaves the but sauce makes it tart on the inside. They don't have the normal tzatziki sauce but it's warm and has a lot of protein! The kabab plate came out steamy. The kabab was really savory and grilled well. There is a nice char and the plate is well balanced with veggies, carbs, and protein! BEST HUMMUS IVE TASTED IN MY LIFE - super buttery and creamy with a savory note

the service here was absolutely terrible the Mexican lady that worked at the front had an attitude and literally put tomatoes in my wrap, when I told her specifically to not put tomatoes because I am allergic, but she did anyways, I tossed out my wrap as well after seeing what looked like saliva, or some sort of clear liquid. I will never go again!

When I was giving my order to the cashier, the person taking the order behaved disrespectfully. This made me think about whether I should come here again as a customer or not. It is a place I come to because the food is good. I wish they would choose these order takers carefully.

Pleasantly surprised by this Mediterranean spot almost hidden in the corner of a commons area. First off staff is super friendly-when I haven't been somewhere I like to ask the staff their favs and they didn't disappoint. I went with one of the most popular chicken shawarma and everything is phenomenal. Salad? Bomb, and perfect amount of dressing. Hummus, tasty AF. Chicken? Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Garlic sauce? My goodness yes, please add extra. Thank you Al Basch for making my night!

Low key, no frills, hole in the wall joint (but super duper clean... like... surgery operating room clean). Got there right before 9pm on a Saturday and we were able to find parking in the lot. Service was good. The person at the front who took our order was friendly. We got the #1 and #8. DELICIOUS. I can only speak on the chicken shawarma and the chicken kebab because I didn't try the beef or kofta kebab, but from what I did try, they were *chef's kiss*. So juicy and so flavorful. My bf liked everything, but he said he enjoyed the chicken over the beef.

The food was so good. I took my friends who are new to LA from Miami and they absolutely loved it. you guys know that East coasters are harsh critics when it comes to West Coast food. I would definitely recommend this place 10/10 plus the meat was juicy, and you get a good portion.

After nice Hike on the weekend, I was I craving some Mediterranean food. This place was the closest to Canyon. We stoped with my friends for early dinner. The service was quick and efficient. The food portion was outstanding. I ordered Mix Kebab Plate. It was very flavorful and delicious. Definitely would recommend this place. They also play soccer games on the TV's which it reminds of home. I am definitely going to travel across across town just to visit this little gem.

My family loves this this place! The food is fantastic, with great quality ingredients and amazing flavors! We used to live close and ordered pick up. Now, we live a little farther away and order through Postmates. My only minor complaint is that oftentimes, we do not receive Pita Bread. Also, there is no option to purchase extra Pita Bread through postmates. Love this amazing restaurant!!! I'm happy to pay extra for more Pita Bread. Thank you.

The food was amazing. The chicken was very flavorful and delicious, as was the hummus and the salad. The service was also wonderful. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

What a gem! Delicious middle eastern food. They have beef and lamb Kebabs as well not just chicken. As authentic as it gets! Had to order one to go as well for my flight later on. Great and friendly service. Clean seating area. The pace is more cafeteria style than a dine in restaurant but well worth the trip.

This place has become a regular! I've already order lunch at least 4/5 in less than a month. I love the welcoming atmosphere and the food is delicious. I can taste the authenticity. The chicken kabobs are the bomb. Technically that's all I've tried lol but I'm everything else is wonderful.

I found this place doing a random search for lunch spots open before noon nearby. I was shocked to even know it existed since I must have walked by it a million times. Tucked away in the corner of a strip mall it's very easy to miss. Which is a shame cause it's really good. I got the Chicken Shawarma (#1). Fresh, large portion size and very tasty. I tried the chicken empanada as well - and wow - so good! Juicy and flavorful with a nice flaky crust. I have to go back and try more of the flavors they offer cause I was blown away. Also, the guy behind the counter was incredibly friendly and helpful. You order at the counter and there were a dozen or so tables - so lots of seating. Even though it isn't table service the staff is so friendly and multiple people came by to see if we were happy with our order. I have no idea how long this place has been open but it feels like some well kept secret. Lot parking.

Can't say enough nice things about this "hole in the wall" next door to "Rock n Roll Ralph's" on Sunset. We shared the mixed kabab plate with chicken, fliet mignon and kafta with baba ganoosh, hummas and slightly well done fries on our request. Everything was outstanding The owner was there, watching France play soccer, brought us a free taste sample of his felafel donuts and was so friendly to us along with all of this staff in the kitchen. We stumbled on this place on google when looking for a spot to hit after a dentist appointment. One word... WoW! We will be back!

I mean very self explanatory.. food is great and the guys where are super nice. Preparation is quick so it's an easy place to pick up or order out. Although they do have a dining area that's clean and self serving.

It did the job. Lacked flavor to me which is why I took off a star. But the portions were good and it was ready on time for pickup.

I ordered chicken shawarma plate though forkable. I had requested no rice and all salad. They did a great job and gave me extra salad. Unfortunately, the chicken was very dry. I had to dip it completely in hummus. I spoke to my co workers who also ordered and they said their chicken orders were very dry as well. Maybe it was an off day but didnt enjoy the dry chicken.

I can't sleep so I decided to write reviews on my local hidden gems. This being one of them. I work in Glendale so I eat a lot of kebab. Nothing beats Al basch. Their steak literally melts in your mouth, the chicken is cooked to perfection, the hummus rice and side salad is always fresh. My neighbors told me to get their small swarmha, add fries, no lettuce or tomatoes and they're from NYC so they know shwarma. It was delicious but a lot of carbs for me, I'll stick to the plates. But everything hits the spot.
