I recently visited Al Khayma Heritage Restaurant in Dubai, and it was one of the highlights of my trip! Located in the heart of the historic Al Fahidi / Meena Bazaar area, this place truly captures the essence of traditional Emirati culture.
The ambiance is simply magical — the restaurant features a beautiful Arabian canopy (khayma-style tent structure) with rustic, heritage-inspired decor that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. It’s cozy, atmospheric, and perfect for soaking in old Dubai vibes while dining.
The menu is absolutely massive — I was blown away by the variety, with what felt like around 110 pages of options! From classic Emirati dishes like lamb mandi and majboos, to fresh seafood, grilled meats, appetizers, salads, traditional breads made live, and a wide range of desserts, there’s truly something for everyone. We tried several items, and the food was consistently good — flavorful, well-seasoned, generous portions, and full of authentic taste.
What elevated the experience even more was the special cultural dance performance! They had live traditional entertainment, including Arabic singing, dancing, and group performances that brought the heritage to life right in the restaurant. It added such a fun, immersive cultural touch — highly recommend going during a time when the shows are on!
Service was friendly and attentive, and the whole evening felt warm and welcoming. If you’re looking for a genuine taste of Emirati cuisine in a unique setting with entertainment, Al Khayma Heritage Restaurant is a must-visit
