Alarmist Brewing & Taproom

Took my little cousin here as his first brewery experience since it's near his college. It was also my first time having Alarmist beer. The drinks were great! Not sure what struggles the bartender was having in his life tonight (Wednesday, June 12), but he was not very friendly to us. I hope he finds peace in whatever he was dealing with. Also, they do last call 30-40 minutes before posted closing time, so make sure you get there plenty early.

Bright open space. Chill vibe. Nice staff. Most importantly, tasty beers. Kid and dog friendly.

Good quality beer available in this locale. Surprised by some varieties I have not seen elsewhere (rauchbier and schwarzbier come to mind). Love the discounted/on sale selection. Brewery is well decorated. The only issue is the location far removed into the northwestern part of the city.

Great space and beer garden. Tons of parking. Excellent beers. High energy staff. I'm knocking a star off due to the dumpster smell coming into place from out back every so often. Grody.

Came here for a birthday party one a beautiful day to enjoy the patio. La Cocinita had a food truck outside which made for sabrosa Venezuelan eats while we enjoyed the lovely atmosphere; inside and outside. The NA options were also a bonus for those non-imbibers looking to enjoy a brewery setting. Will return.

Another Chicago Gem. The cask Belgian Patersbier was a real treat for a Belgian beer lover like me. The staff is super friendly, happy to explain the beers and not in a pretentious way. Super fun, laid back, great place to go with friends, family, and coworkers. Happy hour is $4 pints 4-6. That is too good a deal for premium beer! Highly recommend stopping by, enjoying a few at the bar, and chatting with the cool staff!

Like to support local microbreweries. First time to Alarmist...will DEFINITELY will be back! Staff is friendly and enjoys talking beer. Great music selection. Beers we enjoyed include Le Jus, Heartthrob, Pantsless and Angel of Fire. You must stop by!!

This area definitely needed a good brewery - so glad Alarmist filled this need. The beer is good and the space is actually much bigger than I thought it would be. We sat at the bar and were greeted instantly. The person at the bar was super nice, offered to get us a sample when we asked about one of the beers. I think they also have an outdoor patio, which will be great during the summer, but we didn't check it out because we made a beeline to the bar. They do have a parking lot so that's a huge plus for me. Overall it's a great spot with a relaxed vibe.

This place will be pretty packed on a Friday night so I suggest come before six o'clock to secure a seat. I hope they expand to accommodate more tables because their beer is delicious and they allow you to bring your own food! They also host food vendors occasionally and while we were there they had a taco vendor Go snag some snacks from Trader Joe's and have yourself a grand ole time. Collectively the favorite beer of the night among my friends was the Eejit Cask which is an Irish Dry Stout full on creaminess. Hearty like a Guinness, and not heavy. Dare I say better than a Guinness? When you're ready to order beer go up to the bar to order and let the adventure begin.

It has been a while since I wanted to try their beer. I happened to pass the brewery on my way home from Depaul. From looking at the photos I was under the impression the brewery is small. It is actually very big and can entertain a wonderful crowd. Everyone there was really helpful and friendly. You can sense they want to be there rather than "have" to be there. I could not stay and have a beer so I actually got Le Jus, 4 pack to go and bought their mug. The gentleman who rang me up was really wonderful. Gave me a sample of my purchased beer. Will be back soon but this time enjoy beer inside as I loved what I seen.

I have enjoyed beer from Alarmist Brewing in the past, but on a recent sunny Saturday afternoon my love and I decided to finally visit Alarmist Brewing and Taproom. It is situated in Sauganash on Peterson, just about two blocks west of the Pulaski bus terminus. There is a free parking lot in case you are driving here. They have an outdoor patio, but we gladly grabbed seats in the taproom that faced out the "front window" for great people and dog watching. The menu lists two different flights, and we went with the Hoppy Flight with six 4-ounce pours. They don't serve food, but the staff was fine with us bringing in some sandwiches and chips to eat.

Le Jus is an amazing beer. Well worth the visit just for that. Nice atmosphere in their outdoor area as well. Only downside is no kitchen.

Cute spot in the city with a decent size parking lot! For this suburbanite, that is a win! We had some of their brews at a beer fest, so I wanted to stop in. Service was super friendly. Decent beer selection. It was a cooler day so we weren't able to sit on the patio. They have a very nice courtyard area. Families came in with kids, so we opted to leave.

We don't come out this way often, so being that we were nearby, we had to try this brewery. Compared to most businesses in the area, they have a huge parking lot, so don't worry about street parking! It's pretty open inside with plenty of seating. A few large tables were reserved due to a birthday party of some sorts. More on this later, lmao. The beer was really good. We've been to brewfests with their beer, so obviously we needed to visit. I had the Throat Punch, and I love sours. Very delicious. There's a nice view outside their large windows, and they have a nice private patio in the back. Our bartender was very friendly. Oh yeah, the birthday party. With all the small kids, we're like perfect timing. We finished our beers at a great time. DINKS for life!

Popped in here on a bike ride - I wasn't even aware this place was tucked in here! The beers are great, the ambiance is great, the staff is fantastic, and knowledgeable. I LOVE the big windows looking out onto the street, the parking lot, and the overpass over Peterson. Great beers! Would come back 100%

Their location is a bit hidden, but they have a rather cool setup. We stopped in on a warm summer afternoon. We really enjoyed grabbing a flight and sitting at the big open windows. There is also a nice outdoor space. The beer was great, so we will certainly be back for more libations!

Finding this brewery is hard, but it's even harder to stop drinking this good ass beer. If you don't already know where this is you would never find this. Alarmist is located on Peterson hidden in the back, and it took a few times going past it for me to catch a glimpse. Has some good fruity beer flavors if you're into it. There's also a nice patio. A place like this is definitely like a neighborhood bar. It's pretty far away from anything really. They like to keep it small and simple. Finding this is hard for those who have never been here. Look for the business sign west of Pulaski. It's behind the building. Last time I came with a few friends, and we sat inside at the bar and talked with the bartender who seemed genuinely knowledgeable about the beer process and stuff. It's about $7 a pint. There's a pretty good variety. I had the Au Jus. This is a black IPA, and this was a dark one. Bitter and spicy flavor. This has notes of grapefruit, pine, and rye. Also they have $2 bags of Hot Ass Chips. Really, that's what they call these. Among these are Paqui, but not as hot as the One Chip Challenge flavor. Sound the alarm, these are hot. Totally have a beer handy when you eat some. Good place for local beers. It's out a ways but it's close to the bus stop. Take public transportation.

Finally had the chance to try and I was really happy! Beers were delish. There is no food but you can order in, via local places through an app or standard delivery. It's got that modern, upscale vibe and was perfect for a random weeknight hangout.

Outside are has picnic tables & beach chairs & cornhole boards. Has hard liquor, but just one good bottle of each kind of alcohol. It was fine. Bartenders were helpful & responsive. Dogs allowed.

We found our way to Alarmist a few years back as it is located a block down from a family favorite Chinese restaurant, Mee Mah Restauant. Pick up or deliver some of their delicious food to enjoy along with the beers! Le Jus is award winning always enjoyable on tap, the rest of the beer menu is well rounded and the service is always great here. The building and taproom are welcoming and it's always great to bring the dog(s) here.

It's Saturday, February 17th, 2024 around 2:15 and I just left Alarmist. The place was no more than 1/3 filled, partially with kids, and stopped by for a beer and perhaps a 4-pack or two to go. One bar attendant there with a light/low pour load. I belly up at the far end of the bar and look over the behind-the-bar video display of the menu. I sit back down and patiently wait for the bar attendant to come around so I can place an order. He eventually walks up and slaps a menu down near me, no eye contact or greeting, and walks away. No biggie, I'm not the sensitive type. So now comes the wait...He finally gets within earshot so I ask for a sample of one of their newly offered brews. The response was reasonably timely but the taster was about the size of a bottle of eye drops that you would find at a truck stop or something. When given, that too was slapped down on the bar with the same vigor as the menu. Again, no biggie, I have no delusions that I should have a COSTO-sized sample. Well, I was sold on the sample and decided I would have a pint or two of the same. I then wait, and wait, and wait some more. Over 10 minutes I sit there waiting while the bar keep has a conversation with a patron on the opposite side of the bar. The two of them are looking in my direction and I can't for the life of me get why the keep won't offer service. I got tired of waiting and just left. Not upset or pissy, just decided if I can't get service I'll tale my business somewhere else. I went to OIB and dang, what a difference. Not my first visit, actually been here about a dozen times and have always gotten good service. This dude tho

This place is legit! Everyone is so friendly here, and all of the beers taste amazing! When I first arrived it was pouring extremely hard, and I went into the wrong door that looked like an office. Not sure how that happened, but nonetheless I'll be back here. They've done some pupusa pop ups in the past, and I've love to return for that. Will be back sometime soon I hope!

Laid back comfortable space . Great beers. Went for the first time on a Friday afternoon on my way home from work. I really liked it just wish they had food but you can order in.

Beer is ok. I find it to be more of an acquired taste. Unique but not quite for me. They have two fixed flights. First door on the right. Plenty of tables space. Easy parking. Not much of a stand out but plenty of space and they don't get much wrong.

I drove up north to try out their recent collaboration with Old Irving, Le Beez while it was on tap. Taking two GABF winners and marrying them into one beautiful beer was well worth the trip. The guys at the bar were super friendly and even tried to help me out with finding a few of their beers since the taproom sold out of their canned stock. Would recommend visiting if you're in the area!

BOMB. While this one may be a bit of a trek to get out to from downtown, but if you have a car its no problem and they have their own private lot. The taproom is a decent size with several communal tables, seats at the bar front, and a couch seat near the front entrance. It's doggo friendly, so feel free to bring the furry four legged friend along. No food, but you can bring your own. On to the good stuff... while I've been on the crazy train looking for hazies (New England style IPAs), the Alarmist did not disappoint. Their Le Jus and Oakshaker were awesome! Fruity, juicy, delicious goodness in a glass. You have options to grab a 6 4oz sampler, 12oz/pint, a crowler to go, or even choose from some of their cans to take home. In addition, a small merch section in case you really feel like repping the brand. They do allow reservations in case you're looking to hold down a larger table or two to host a get together. While their prices are a bit more than I would expect to pay, I don't mind as long as the beer is awesome. That's all I got on this one. 'Til next time, cheers!

If you were to tell me that I would be celebrating my milestone birthday at a brewery, I would not have believed you and would likely have called you crazy. I spent three months searching for the perfect venue to host my birthday and I knew the second that I walked into the Alarmist Taproom that it was it! Venue: The taproom has high ceilings, plenty of tables and even has elevator access. They have really thought out their venue and have everything from purse hooks to outlets in the right locations. In addition, their bathrooms are huge (double sinks/multiple stalls) and super clean and well-maintained. The best thing about this location is the free parking lot! Bevy: I will be honest- I am not a beer person. I would call myself a cider-head and I have an affinity for all things sweet. Alarmist has options for me. They had "summer in a glass"- wine, a cider (right-bee cider), and even a yummy prosecco option in addition to their house-made craft beers. They have a great variety and had yummy tasting flights. My friends really loved the dark chocolate/coffee beer. One deemed it her favorite ever. People: Chris and Bob are amazing. They are incredibly down-to-earth, funny, and made booking my party a blast! They are super chill and great people. It definitely made hosting my event a lot easier- and the entire thing went off perfectly! Thanks for making my birthday such a dynamite hit with everyone!

Last Thursday 03/01/18 my next door neighbor invited a few people out to Alarmist Brewing & Taproom for their new line of beers. I have driven by this place hundreds of times. Alarmist is located on Peterson on the south just west of Pulaski & east of the small mall w/Chase Bank, Starbucks. I would have never even known this place was there unless my neighbor didn't invite us. Alarmist Brewing & Taproom (ABT) is located at 4055 W Peterson Ave. ABT is a microbrewery that happened to have a new release of a new line of beers Le Jus Trois. Now I don't considered myself an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy a cold beer from time to time When I arrived Mick and his wife and daughter were there already. He bought me the first round which was a flight of their new beers (3 glasses). Of the 3 beers I liked the nitro the best. Alarmist is housed in a loft type space with the brewing vats (is that the correct term?) behind glass visible to the area. They don't serve food, but I'm told they encourage people to order food in to help the local restaurants in the area (that's kind of cool). They are also dog friendly as people bring their pooches in. On the night we were there was a yellow lab and a greyhound in the house. That's really cool cause I'm a total dog lover.

Really enjoyed the beer here. Their space is pretty cool. I like that you can order food to be delivered there. And the staff with cool!

Ok, I'm in luv! I mainly drink IPAs, Pale Ales and otherwise hoppy beers. We had our favorite brewery in Pittsburgh that catered to exactly what we love - Dancing Gnome how I've missed you since I moved to Chicago - until I found your twin, that is. Yes, Alarmist is pumping out the happy hoppy concoctions I crave and honestly these 2 brewers could have trained together. They're even doing some hazy IPAs in much the same way. Will we be regulars? Oh, yeah!!! Did a flight of hoppiness with Pantsless, Entrenched, Big Muff, Ekuanox, Le Jus & Cosmic Eye. Every beer was distinctive and choosing a follow-up beer was a serious debate for both my husband and I because we each had multiple favorites. I ended up picking Cosmic Eye & he chose Pantsless and we may order a flight again next time, which we rarely do because it's quite unusual for us to love this many beers at a brewery. And they are very dog friendly in here, too! Our English Bulldog grandogs had a grand time. They want to come back, too!

No longer having to travel far for fresh beer is a plus, it seems like a lot of brewery tap rooms seem to anchor themselves in certain neighborhoods, after having had a few beers at another place nearby Alarmist was recommended and off we went. The location can be a little hard to find, it's in a corner of an office building next to an overpass but once you're inside it's easy to settle in and find a beer. There seemed to be a mix of locals/regulars that the bartenders knew by name, filling growlers and having a quick pint, beer nerds (you can identify them because they're usually wearing hoodies of out of town breweries and hunched over their phones on untapped or BA) and people just checking it out. The beer is good, and they've won an award for a style that's pretty popular in beer nerd circles but they're pretty modest, in their own sarcastic way. I appreciate that, make good beer but put it in perspective.

I love checking out local breweries no matter where I travel. This was a new one to me and not too far from home so we had to check it out. And knowing they are dog friendly so we could have our grand dogs tag along was a fabulous bonus. They loved it as much as we did! Great space, free onsite parking, friendly staff, about 12 beers on tap... this is hitting on all cylinders!! And the beer? Wow. I'm really a pale ale/IPA drinker so it's rare that I ever order a 6 beer sampler. But here? Oh my. They had so many of my kinds of taste profiles on tap I could have ordered 2 samplers!! Absolutely loved the beer and their takes on multiple New England style IPA's was spectacular! So good!! I plan to make Alarmist a regular stop, even if we aren't babysitting the dogs. But if I tell them we went, they'll be jealous.

I liked Alarmist and am glad I checked it out. As far as breweries go though, it was pretty middle of the road for me. A lot of want makes a brewery for me is the beer - duh - but also the people working. One guy working was great, the other was meh...I overheard him making fun of us to another patron for calling ahead to let them know we were bringing dogs. Um...Okay....we wanted to be sure the place was dog-friendly. Whatever man! I tried to put that aside though and focus on the beer. They do flights which is amazing and I was able to try everything on tap this way. Drafts were $6. Aaron's Vision Quest was my favorite of the bunch. Overall, I didn't have any I thought were terrible but I also didn't have any I was like Dang! I need a growler of this! Pro-Tip: Dog Friendly. Pro-Tip #2: BYOF. Chill atmosphere, indoor only seating with long communal tables or belly up to the bar. Glad I went and am glad to see a brewery pop up on the very north side in North Park. However it ain't no Rev or FFF...aka I'm good on it now.

Returned six days later with my IPA-loving son, who's lived in Wisconsin for a year and has become a student of good beer. He loved it, too, and also enjoyed chatting with Peter about the various selections. My husband tried the cask Oatmeal Porter, and I had the cask Blunderbuss (amber), infused with cranberry, pecans, and rosemary. I have a feeling this will become one of our hangouts, and I have a feeling we'll probably sit at the bar whenever we're able -- great conversation with all the personable guys, and a great beer education.

The people that work here are VERY nice and they allow dogs which makes this place a five star. There were no kids and it was quite. Now we are from Minnesota it appears they do NEIPAs differently there, the flavor is more full less suddel. Which is why the 4 stars. It was fun coming through and trying it. As we left 3 different mini vans with kids showed up so they do allow them in the taproom.

I had the Le Jus. This beer was very good. This brewery would be a perfect location for INCEL meetings, especially since the location is very close to Jefferson Park.

I have been to Alarmist several times. I found it by doing a good ol Yelp search several months back because I like to find the smaller breweries that aren't packed but still have UH-MAZING brews. Ladies and gents, that is Alarmist. This is a great hidden gem of a taproom. Literally hidden- I drove past it the first time I came here haha Here are some things I love about it: The taproom: great space and great energy. It has plenty of room, a view into the brewery and great locals who are super friendly. ALSO, it is doggy friendly! Dexter was a dog that I met last time I visited. He and his human pet we're super friendly. So that's always a plus. The dynamite tap handles are a nice touch! The beer: I think I have tried every non-IPA beer they have and they are all so flavourful! And honestly probably even tried an IPA or two (IPAs are not my game though so I can't comment on those). They have solid flights which I am always happy to order. The crew: this has got to be the nicest, most knowledgeable bunch of people. They are all so patient - and this is something I notice because I am one of those people who has 30 questions before I order. (I just want to make sure I like it, okay!?) They are always helpful and I greatly appreciate it. Food: there is no food BUT they have menus for you and you can bring food in or have it delivered Bathroom: not a joke. The ladies room is really nice. I think women will appreciate knowing that. Definitely go here before it blows up (get it? Cause... dynamite tap handles). Seriously though, you won't be disappointed.

I LOVE this place. Kid friendly, dog friendly, PEOPLE friendly. This is one of the best taprooms in Chicago. What makes it great? Great beer, great bar staff, and it is just a great comfortable hangout space. I have now had two gatherings of our Birds & Beers group there (May & September of 2018), have had one meeting there at a long table, and have taken my family there two or three times. It might be the only place I have a beer where at least one bartender knows my name, and there is no reason he should. Besides serving the great Alarmist Beer, I guess he just likes to know his patrons, and that is the attitude of warmth the whole place exudes. As a family, we love bringing dinner in and a game there to eat, drink and game. As a coordinator of gatherings of "beer drinkers with a birding problem," we find the space and the beer perfect for our very social gatherings. When our LaBagh Woods restoration leadership team held a meeting there, and we politely asked if they could dial down the music a bit where we were sitting under a speaker, they didn't hesitate to accommodate. If you want a friendly hangout place with GREAT beer, this is your place. Working to plan another meeting there in early October, and I am looking forward to the beer and the darn friendliest service from the staff there. It makes me just happy thinking about it.

Have you ever wondered what it felt like to find a spot that has beer that is actually good? Well, I found one in a random spot and decided to try it out with some friends. Alarmist is a newer place that is honestly hidden, but needs to be advertised! It is a simple brewery spot that has a quality of beer that is greater than the names they give them. Simple spot, clean, and staff that are easy to talk to. From pouring you a tap to selling you a Growler to bring home, this place will be somewhere is will continually visit. Walked in and wasn't immediately greeted although the guys were behind the counter that isn't the closest to the door. Once we sat down, we were approached and I order me a glass of Fake News. Yes, the beer name is Fake News and was a phenomenal piece of work. It is Belgian Golden Ale that has a small bite and was smooth going down. I had a couple pours of this....although I could have used more. They do not have food or even peanuts but they do allow folks to order food in or bring food in, which is a plus. Although, it would be nice to have some choices for us as the only good spots for food nearby aren't really nearby. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Whether you are by yourself, on a date, or with a group of friends, it is well worth the trip!

Really enjoyed the lager I had at this place! There was also a nice little fluffy dog who greeted me at the door which was ideal. I don't know if that little dog will be there everyday, but I would recommend this place regardless!

One of the new, down-to-earth breweries that are labours of love. The folks here know their beer and want to share their love with you. We went with two samplers to get a fell for the full range of their skill and were pleased with the range and uniqueness of the offerings. The oatmeal stout was a surprise, not cloying and sweet but balanced and chocolaty rich like a good porter. I also loved Aaron's Vision Quest. It was complex and floral with subtle citrus notes that made it a joy to drink. They have easy parking in their lot and prices are fair so grab you friends and come hang out with the brew boys at Alarmist, you'll be glad you came.

We heard about this place opening in April and had to check it out since we are local. It was absolutely worth it! They don't have food, but you can order food from local restaurants and it looks like one of the places they had menus for actually offered coupons for people ordering delivery to the brewery. I tried a flight of the beers and pretty much all of them are good. Phobophobia is my favorite (and possibly my new favorite beer in general) and my boyfriend really liked the IPA. The bartender was great - super helpful and friendly. The only downside is that this place was impossible to find! They don't have large signage yet, but if you look on their website they have a handy little map that shows you where it is. Will absolutely be returning and wish them continued success!

Another in the classic style of many a craft brewery taproom. BYO food, dog friendly, board games, regular seats, but also some lounge chairs. It's cool to see a brewery this far NW, there aren't many in that area. The beers I had were very good, and there are still more that I wanna try. I got the Le Juz and the phase shyfter, both nice and hoppy pale ales, the way I like them. They have a pretty big parking lot too so that's cool. If you're driving it's like a mile right off the Petersen-Caldwell exit on the Edens. They also allow small parties there as well, as I saw 3 tables reserved when I was there. I liked the beers I had and there's more I wanna try so I hope to be back there before too long

Terrible customer service. Beer is average not worth going there getting charged twice, called named and sworn at by the bartender. My earlier post was reported by owner- truth hurts sometimes.

I always have a great time when I stop here either by myself or with a friend or two. I've brought several people here and they all enjoyed the atmosphere. I love and admire that they don't have a television anywhere in the bar. That is rare nowadays believe it or not. Forces ya to converse if you're with someone. The bartenders are superb and super friendly. The bartender I had tonight (7/15/2019) was just a great guy. I should've got his name in hindsight but didn't think of it. He had great customer service as do all of the bartenders who I've had the experience of sitting across from. Do ya self a favor and stop in sometime and support local. Some of the best local beers around town!!

Great beer on the far northwest side! Was at Alarmist last Friday night. There's lots of seating and you can bring food in too. They have a ton of beers on tap so take advantage of the 6-beer flights! I always get nervous when small breweries make a million different beers but Alarmist does them all well. There were a couple really well balanced, high ABV beers I was impressed by (DoubleThink & Fake News). Also loved the Juguito which had cinnamon and cayenne, super spicy! So many great breweries in Chicago and Alarmist is definitely one of them!

I had a chance to have the Le Jus at the Chicago brew house and it was one of the best IPA's I've ever had. I sure wish there was a way to get it in AZ! Great beer!

3* is "a-ok" right? Well, that's what Alarmist is. They're not bad, but I'm not going out of my way for them, and I go out of my way for a LOT of places. Let's get one thing out of the way though, before I go into the beer. Don't make fun of your customers while still at your job. Whether you're trying to make a regular chuckle or just show off in front of the new guy, it's stupid. Even if you think we're idiots, wait until later. One of the people from our group overheard Bob making fun of us. Yes, I called ahead and made a reservation and yes, I mentioned we had 2 dogs (somewhat jokingly, but also because I wasn't sure how crowded the space was and if there was maybe a better spot for us). If someone was telling me that information, I'd look at the options available and use it wisely. They happened to be having an engagement party there that day, which took over 3-4 tables when you walk in. Would I put 2 dogs near lots of foot traffic? Nah, and he didn't. He had us at the back table and it would have been perfect if there hadn't been a pitbull at the next table when we got there. Judging by the way the guy pulled his dog in close when he saw our 2 dogs, we chose a different seat. That's when my friend grabbed the sign and said "this is us, btw" so that he knew we didn't just blow off the reserved table, and also so he knew she heard his comment. By the way, my dog DID use that extra seat and got allllll the attention, so thanks. Anyhow, the beer. I went with a flight since there were quite a few I wanted to try and I didn't have time to sit and drink pints of all of them (nor did I want to). I enjoyed most of what I had, some beers a little more than others, but I felt I made good picks. Some of the beers that others ordered, however, were just so-so. We ended up filling a growler and overall had a nice time chatting with each other and with others nearby. The newly engaged couple and their friends were great, customers in general were pretty chill, and I like a place that has that kind of vibe. Makes it easier to want to come back, but again, I won't come out of my way to go here. If I'm in the area I'll definitely stop in and if we're on the expressway, I'll probably even suggest seeing what they have and getting a growler fill, but between the somewhat good to somewhat average beer and the making fun of us so we could hear it (over something so stupid), Alarmist gets just an "ok" from me. I will say, the other guy working was really great (I think he was new, or else just young) and their brand manager (I think, I can't remember what her title is) is VERY nice. I'm just surprised that someone who looks like a hippie felt the need to make fun of us so loudly. Guess not everyone is about putting out good vibes. Oh, they have a nice restroom, too.

This brewery is amazing! Their beer is delicious and you can tell they brew it thoughtfully. They are incredibly nice and helpful while you're making your selection as well. I recently held a party here and they were incredibly accommodating! They reserved the entire half of their space for me. They let me bring in way too much food and totally overtake the brewery. It was AMAZING! Everybody loved loved loved the beer and the space! I highly recommend checking them out! You can bring in your own food or have it delivered. A tamale guy comes in too for a great snack. I just can't say enough about this place. GO!

Alarmist--love the broader selection lately, especially the All in Favor - Schwarzbier Dark Lager! Excellent. Found it across the street at the corner store.

In a perfect world, every brewery would be as good as the Real Chance of Love theme song was in 2008 (RIP Real). But some are boilerplate. Welcome to Alarmist. I do mostly like their taproom. It's clean, spacious, and dog friendly (and dawg friendly). We met up on an unsuspecting Sunday afternoon, and soon parties started rolling in and the place was lively. Service was ok. Not snide, nor super friendly. The only thing I'd say is it's slightly on the boring side. The beer is fair to middling. They had one I really liked (Pantsless) and one I ordered simply for the name (Alternative Facts). Most, such as the latter, were decent, but not special. Cool spot, but I don't think the beer is good enough have me pinning to make the trek up here again anytime soon.

At Shake Shack and they had Phobophobia Beer it was so good that I went straight to the source Alarmist Brewing Co., in Chicago. The taproom space is awesome with a long concrete bar and plenty of tables. But even cooler was a great bartender Bob who was friendly and knowledgeable. So worth it, beers are well balanced delicious and they have cans to go! A happy place to hang out that gets better with every new brew!

Great new brewery on the north side. I had the lupulinophobia ver II. And enjoyed it a lot. The tap room is spacious and airy, with plenty of seating. Seems family friendly too. You can see into the brewing area from the tap room. It would be nice if the prices were on the tap list though!

I am very grateful for the beer pickup experience during these times. It was very easy to call when I arrived and have one of the Alarmists come out to give me my order. The beer is all really tasty and the selection seem to get bigger every time I go. When things do get back to normal, you can order Panda Express to three mere from Uber Eats.

Small, loud and crowded. There was a live performance when I was there and all sorts of obnoxious things were happening. Two very drunk girls, almost started a fight and broke glasses. An obnoxious douche bag disturbing the performing group and harrassing people at the bar. In any respectable place that person would have been long thrown out on his ass. But no, apparently he was great friends with the people behind the bar and exchanged loud screams with a ginger bartender like frat bros in a college party. I won't even comment on the beer because it's irrelevant. There hundreds of excellent breweries in Chicago. If you can't create a pleasant environment than everything else is secondary.

Amazing taproom and beers! We reserved a table for a large group last Saturday and had a truly exceptional experience at Alarmist. Aside from the beers being extremely good, the taproom itself was absolutely perfect. Aside from being dog-friendly, Alarmist is also very kid-friendly as well! Juice boxes, games etc. No food is served but you can bring your own which was great. We ordered in a bunch of pizzas. The bartenders were very helpful and patient with our large group. We really appreciated the experience and can't wait to visit again.
