Outstanding food and service! Everything was so fresh and those hushpuppies were the best I've ever had. Anywhere! (Sorry Grandma Opal!) Dining area is gonna be to hot in summer as it was already rather warm with temps in the 80s but it's a very welcoming space. Loved everything and mom and I agreed that this was our new go-to restaurant to meet up. We'll see y'all soon!

Awesome food, kind of pricey, but food quality and quantity was worth it. Will probably call and order ahead of time the next time we go there, had to wait a little while, but food was very fresh and very good. They do have inside dining and a stand up eating area outside under shelter if you prefer. Will definitely be going back to get some fresh fish and seafood.

Hadn’t eat at AFC since I moved out of Albany 3 years ago, but the food was always good to me. While visiting I decided to order DD. My shrimp po boy was missing all the toppings, the bread was so hard it cut the roof of my mouth. My side order of grits tasted like they dumped half the container of salt in it. My friend order a veggie burger and it tasted burnt all throughout. I was utterly disappointed.

One star is too much but unfortunately there is no zero. Stop by to buy some fish and I spent close to 15min trying to get the server attention and she never looked at me. She was at the back frying i assume fish but even if u are busy, still acknowledge your customer, I have no problem to wait. The only time she looked at me is when I was exiting the building. The other two customers I saw sitting down shake their head in disbelief. I would never go back there.

We thought the servings were very generous I had to meals out of my catfish (pictured) and they were prepared like I cook them at home. My wife’s grouper was on the strong side as if it could have been a little fresher. The young woman doing everything but the cooking was over whelmed but she kept everyone happy and everything under control while retaining a jovial demeanor the entire time. It was our first time there, it certainly will not be our last time there however. We have heard over and over how expensive it is; we found it very reasonable in the area of value for dollar spent. Great place, great food, real old south fish house vibe you just don’t find anymore. That means making do with ceiling fans in the dining area like when I was growing up. Nostalgia by the bucket full. You order in the market and they bring it out to you in the eating area. It is the kind of place you would not be really surprised to run into Jimmy Buffet. Well, that is if he wasn’t dead.

Roosevelt burger (veggie) tasted amazing, I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if someone gave me this and told me it was a beef burger. It is so flavorful, very tender, very juicy, overall I am satisfied. It had mixed bell peppers and tomatoes & mozzarella cheese on the veggie burger itself. Definitely would try it again 10/10. I have had the alligator bites, the fried catfish sandwhich, and just plain fried catfish, fried whiting, so far everything is great. The only downside is when I call to place the order I usually get a very rude person taking my order. Just wish they had a little more courteous to their customers. Other than that it’s always really good food.

I usually don't order blackened shrimp or fish because it tends to be dry...I ordered the blackened shrimp just on the strength of the worker taking my order. She was confident, efficient, and engaging . I ordered 2 whiting, $6 specials with the shrimp on the side, to go. All was hot and fresh. The shrimp were still bubbling in the container! Great meal! We ate ourselves silly. Great customer service. I may go out of my way to go back to Albany just to try more on the menu!

This is a great place. I come to the area for work and had heard about this place a few times. I finally had a chance to visit and it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Definitely go if you get the chance. The line can get ling but moves along quickly and the prices are fair.

The prices are high but the food is delicious and they put a lot of food in your plate .

Going to the Albany Fish Company was not at all pleasant. The place is very nice and clean the food looks fresh. Even the area where people who were dining in was seated was very nice. We were doing a carry out! The service was not good my mom and I were very disappointed especially since we drove so far to get the food. The food itself was not bad but for us service is equally as important as the food when you work so hard to earn you money. I don't think I'd go back again. I'll find something closer with better service and food.

Albany Fish House did not look like it was open. You order in one door and seating is in the next door. Looks like a screened in porch. I ordered trout and I chose cole slaw. It was good and both tasted good. It was expensive. Twenty dollars. The coleslaw was less than 6 ounces and it was trout filet 2 pieces. It wasn't frozen which was good. Service was prompt. Had a relaxed atmosphere sitting in your back yard. I would recommend it. Maybe try the dinner next time for 2 sides

The catfish filet left me speechless!!! We stopped here during a road trip and were blown away. I wanted to try everything! The fish is so fresh and perfectly seasoned. Onion rings were not my favorite, but the fries were great. All the servers were so friendly and provided us with a variety of different sauces and recommendations.

We were In Albany for a family reunion and the 3 of us decided to take a break and find a local spot for lunch. We are so happy that we decided on Albany Fish Company. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. I can honestly say they have the best hush puppies in the WORLD! Super friendly staff. If I'm ever in the area I will be back.

You go in the door on the market side, order your food, go outside, in another door for seating. Everything was very clean. But wait!!! The FOOD! Oh my goodness! My husband and I split the three piece catfish "snack" which was a full meal for $16.99. The fish filets were good sized and crispy, not greasy, seasoned well. We had sweet potato fries and cole slaw (very good, not too sweet). Three hush puppies that were yummy. The tea was good, too. The employees were very friendly. Enjoy! I wish I lived closer!

We stopped on our way through Albany. I am drawn to fish restaurants. This one is quite different. They have a fish market on one side and a unique restaurant on the other. You feel like you are eating on an enclosed porch with air-conditioning. You order off the menu on the fish market side then you go to the other side where a waitress will bring your food and make sure you have everything you need. The food presentation was beautiful, it was prepared so quickly, and it was d-e-l-I-c-I-o-u-s!

Oh this place was a good find and was awesome! Hands down, the best catfish I ever had. This spot is seafood market/restauraunt. We ordered our food on the market side, then sat out in the patio dining area which was really nice. I had the catfish dinner which came with 3 long catfish fillets and two sides. My side picks were cole slaw and cheese grits. Starting with the catfish...PERFECTLY seasoned and coated, PERFECTLY fried and PERFECTLY drained of excess oil. Need I say more?!?! I mean this was not greasy, it had a crispy crust and it was seasoned well that I didn't need to drown it in tartar sauce. Now for the sides...cole slaw was decent. It wasn't mayoee nor too sweet, so it was good for me. As for the cheese grits...this was the only 2-3 star dish. Grits were very watery and they just added shredded cheese which didn't melt. It also include 2 hush puppies which were pretty good. They had corn in them which was different, but still very good. Overall...I really love this place! Too bad I was only visiting, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back if I had the opportunity.

We stopped on a whim on a road trip. We walked in a few minutes before closing time (online showed one hour later). They happily served us. Absolutely delicious food. Unique experience with order in one door and dine in another but so glad we took the chance. Highly recommend the catfish! Thanks for the great service!

It was just ok! The grits were great but the seafood...ahhh ok! It's basic nothing too exciting for the price!

I been there before and the food was amazing grits were on point !!! I don't eat grits at most restaurants but they were good and yes l recommend eating there

While my wife likes the crab here, don't think to dine in. They charge $70 for a bowl of Crab, crawfish, sausage, potatoes, and corn. Then, they tell you they no longer provide the tool to break open crabs because customers steal them. Learning this after the meal is served, along with their "absolutely no refund" policy posted on the wall ruined the meal. My wife could barely break open the crab and was offered a metal fork, which promptly bent in using to open crab cluster. Management needs to learn how to operate a business. If customers steal the crab tool, then it should just be a deposit charged when ordering for dine-in that you get back after returning the tool. Or just charge $3 more for a cheap Walmart tool. When the meal costs $70, paying a small added silverware fee is preferable to the ruined dining experience. I am dismayed the server would even provide plastic utensils for a $70 dine-in meal. Absolutely ridiculous.

The best way is to break down everything. Hush puppies 10/10 SO GOOD, wish they were bigger Shrimp was okay, wish it was a little more tender so would rate this 7/10 Fries 6/10 Wish the cocktail sauce was a little fresher and needed more horseradish Customer service was great! I would try the fish, maybe that's what they are really known for!

I have been to Albany Fish Company several times and every time I go I'm greeted by KeeVee ( sorry If i spelt your name wrong) my order is quickly taken and within 10 minutes my food is normally brought out to me. Pipping hot ! Everything is always so fresh and cooked very well. I have had their breakfast salmon croquettes and it was good as well. This place never disappoints. Definitely give it a try !

The service was rather snappish. If you asked when it came in the answer was do you want it or not? They were unwilling to say when the products arrived if they had been frozen. Several species had very cloudy eyes indicating that they were past sell by date in my book and the skin on those looked dry. Given the service and the appearance of the stock I took my trade elsewhere. They do a steady business but not with me.

I saw really high reviews so I had to try this place, later I realized that I should have PAID ATTENTION to what people were commenting. The high scores happened when people ordered a grilled piece of fish and a couple of sides !!! Apparently fish is fresh and it is probably good. Me on the other hand I made a bad choice and ordered out of the Chefs specials !!! Terrible choice. The shrimp and grits is not worth it. Shrimp was fine but the grits and the sauce were really tasteless !!! Considering that I had 5 shrimps it was really overpriced. I also ordered the alligator bites.... they were ok but nothing to brag about either. This place was also a little confusing as you need to order on the building on the left first before getting a table on the building on the right. There aren't even any signs. I saw many people being confused. People were friendly though and the customers that were eating the plain fish seemed to enjoy it that's the reason for my 3 stars .

Just ordered Tilapia. It tasted like they straight forgot to season the fish. Tasted like oil and fish. So disappointed. The sweet potato fries were good, and the lady who took my order was nice. But now I know, don't bother ordering the fried tilapia.

Satisfied! Fresh, cooked just right Hugh shrimp I'm not big on sweet so I added some spice to my shrimp.

First, the good - The fried fish is really good and I imagine the rest of the menu is also. The staff are very friendly! Unfortunately, today while dinning I asked if the radio could be changed to Soul music instead of pop and I was informed they play pop to accommodate white people! Imagine that - a black owned establishment with arguably a predominantly black clientele, disregards that base to accommodate white folks! Worse, there weren't any white folks in the establishment! I guess it's preemptive catering to white privilege. We (used to) frequent this business as well The Flint, which is their other restaurant. Of course it's their business and they can play whatever they want. Likewise, it's my money and I'll spend it where my culture and opinion matters. So many other restaurant options with great food in Albany. Take my money and disregard my culture/opinion - no thanks. White folks can have our seats because we will not be back!

This place was an absolute gem to find in Albany. The lady at the register was super sweet and helpful! Food came out fast and was top quality! Super cute vibe and ambiance to the place! Would totally recommend!!

I cannot stress how highly I regard the Albany Fish Company in Albany, GA. In every way my expectations were met and exceeded. This was an epicurean close encounter of the third kind: while driving from Tallahassee to Americus, GA it's mostly back roads and state routes, one doesn't even have a highway to deviate FROM. In random fashion I stopped in Albany to go "thrifting" at a Goodwill store. I heard the options are slim for good eats while I'm in Americus (no disrespect ya'll- I'll see for myself during a four day layover!) so I searched for seafood. AFC popped up. It looks like a market with restaurant attached- and it is just that. But I discovered it is so much more. Upon arrival it looks nondescript and maybe even a little grungy but closer inspection reveals an establishment run with precision, deep family values and an attentionn to cooking that should be featured on some travel cooking tv show (get on this people!!). The menu is extensive so I'll leave a picture here to peruse. As per my usual I like a combo of seafood. They offer several and a smaller l, less expensive version of each (excellent idea!) I had no idea what was in store for me. I peeked at the kitchen staff who share the same space as the counter where you order (then you take a number and sit in the cute and functional adjoining dinning shack). The kitchen staff at a glance were in the groove, familial and unassuming. If this place is anything it is unpretentious and warmly authentic. The waitstaff in the dining shack were friendly and attentive. I was charmed somehow. I still had no idea what to expect. I thought the food would be just fine. Nothing special. The crushed ice was somehow excellent. My "go to" Arnold Palmer felt elevated somehow. Was this part of the spell this close encounter was spinning? Then a calm, smiling young man lay my meal before me. In a smooth white shapely bowl was layered not only perfectly steamed snow crab and abundant gulf shrimp but roast red potatoes, Brussels sprouts and broccoli all bathed in what the menus misrepresents as "garlic butter sauce." This sauce is a broth of such richness and flavor it would make saucier in Manhattan or Paris cringe with jealously. (See picture). This dish was generous and flavorful. Bravo to the staff. My gluttony prompted a small side of fried oysters. They were delicious. Lightly but perfectly breaded and served hot. Again, bravo. The place was busy but there were multiple tables available on a Saturday evening at 6:30. Large groups came and went and the staff never seemed in the weeds. Serene and smiling they kept the flow. I plan to go inside the market and compliment them all. And raise my paltry tip. Full disclosure: originally I thought the "order at counter" tip I left was sufficient, but the service and energy I experienced merits a bump up. Well done Albany Fish Company.

Great and customer oriented service, clean facility, great price for the quality food, excellent plate presentation, tasty food.... wow ..... 10 out of 10 in each category. A Family owned restaurant that bring proud to all the associates It is great to have a server who is always smiling and enjoying the job. This is one of the few restaurants at Albany that is "CUSTOMER ORIENTED" and makes you feel like home and appreciated. Thanks for the experience. You make me change my first impression of the restaurants at Albany, GA.

Been here once, and tried the swamp box: Lobster, gator, shrimp, shrimp legs, scallops, oysters, catfish served over a bed of fries, including coleslaw and hushpuppies. It was plenty of food for a couple of hungry guys. The lobster was not terribly exciting, but the rest was reasonably well executed in a greasy sort of way that you might expect from a place like this. Overall, I would not go out of my way to return, here, but I've had worse food in Albany.

Looove the shrimp poboy! T Used to love the sweet n tangy shrimp but the recipe changed a bit in the last year or so. Less breading perhaps? Idk there is less crunch and a bit tooo sweet sometimes. Should consider pecans in the sweet n tangy shrimp! Had it before in NY goes fantastic together!

Very cool place. I've waited all week to give it a try. To begin, enter on the left to choose what you will be eating. Much of what is on the menu is all fresh caught and on display in a case. There are several cooking styles--fried, blackened, baked, etc.. After you've placed your order and if you're dining in, go back out and enter to the right into the seating area. From there you can place your drink order. They offer a fairly nice selection of bottled beers, wine, sweet or unsweet tea, and/or water. For my dinner, I chose an 8-piece blackened shrimp "snack," along with blackened grouper with French fries. The shrimp were definitely fresh without even a hint of fishiness. Every bite answered with a nice clean snap. The base seasoning had outstanding flavor, however, I believe a little too much garlic salt was added and over powered the base seasoning. Still delicious. And now for the grouper. What a wonderful, flakey, and delectable piece of fish. Expertly seasoned then blackened in a pan. The fish was not the least bit oily. I never bothered with tartar sauce, lemon, or malt vinegar, because it would have ruined this wonderful piece of fish. The staff are warm, friendly, and helpful. Couldn't ask for better people. If you are ever in Albany, Georgia and you're a seafood lover, you would really be doing yourself a disservice if you do not stop and give this place a shot. I'm confident you won't be disappointed.

Honestly the BEST! It was our first time here and it was fresh and soft in the inside yet very crispy on the outside! Everything was seasoned to perfection. The service was also amazing ! Super friendly, helpful, came and checked on us plenty of times and were super sweet. Place is also very comfortable and spacious, we sat and food also came fast. recommended

Waited in line for service for a good 15-20. No one at the desk and I saw a young woman pecking on her cellphone in the back.

Every star was well-earned. Food was outstanding and customer service was superb. I had the grilled grouper (at the server's suggestion!) and it was cooked perfectly, perfect seasoning. I had sweet plantains, corn, and hush puppies as sides. They forgot my hush puppies and drink, but this was immediately rectified when I brought it up to their attention. One issue may be parking during rush hour, but we arrived at a good time and had no issues. I am happy to have discovered this little jewel.

Walking in is a bit confusing. At first glance you think the fish market is on the left, where you could by fresh raw seafood to take home and cook with the restaurant to the right. However you have to order to the left (long line sometimes) and then go to the restaurant to the right and find a place to sit down. Here someone comes and looks at your receipt and brings you your drink and later your food. Why not just take my order table side??? I ordered the gator PO Boy and it was delicious though! Price with fries and a drink was under $10 so it was a great value! I'll be back again!

Awesome food! My kids had the shrimp fried rice (which they LOVED). My husband had grouper which was really good. I had grilled scallops and they were delicious! The owner was great as well. Definitely coming back next time we're in town.

I had the fried shrimp and fries for lunch. Everything was awesome. Even the tarter and cocktail sauces were awesome. I would like to try this place again, but I'm on the road to my next destination. For fried shrimp, you are not going to find anywhere better than here...I guarantee it. Enjoy. Ron

Stumbled upon this amazing seafood spot on the way to a graduation. The hospitality was amazing! My fiancé and I felt like we had been there before and was greeted like family. The seafood was beyond amazing. I had the grilled shrimp with fried catfish with a side of cheese grits and spinach and my fiancé had the shrimp and gator po boy. The food was fresh and well seasoned. Good ol' southern seafood , y'all. Trust me when I say, you'll love it! You can't go wrong here! The pricing was spot on for the quality of seafood you will receive here! If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely make it a point to stop by. Amazing customer service and a friendly atmosphere to top it off, you can't go wrong.

They have frog legs on the menu. It's worth stopping in just to say you've tried frog legs. They tasted pretty alright too.

Albany fish company has got to be the best seafood spot in South Georgia! The food is always fresh and delicious. Ive gotten the grouper, salmon, and frogs legs but my favorite meal from there is the Gator Po Boy. Its is amazing and a must try! The gator is always crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. They load that roll up with gator bites as well. Literally overflowing with gator!! Really loce this place and recommend to everyone.

Ordered the swamp box and wasn't impressed; due to my personal taste I don't like frog legs and alligators. Next time I was try something different.
