They are building a boat using the old traditions, and a museum of basque nautical history is included in the displays. Well worth the €10/12

Incredible museum and active workshop! Informative displays with English French Spanish and Basque translations.
Wonderful and accommodating staff. We rode our bikes and didn’t have a lock and we were allowed to stash them inside.

A real gem. We got the 30min private tour for a few euros extra which gave us nice insights into all the projects happening there.

A wonderful working museum dedicated to building a Basque whaling ship identical to one which sank at Red Bay, NL, in the 1500's. It is a joint project of Spain and Canada. The courage of the Basque whalers, and the joint work to tell their story is awesome.

Very interesting place to visit if you like history. Amaia was a great guide. She showed us all around the museum. She told us about where they found the wreck that they are using as a model for the replica they are building, how they built and used the ships. She showed us the ship that is nearing completion and we went to the forge where we met Pablo creating some of the pieces and tools that they use.
Eskerrik asko!

Was good to fill the day with some activities as the weather wasn't that good.
