Our 15th 'cue stop in Oklahoma, and the 398th nationwide, brought us to the Downtown location. On street parking proved easy at one in the afternoon, and the building was an architectural gem. Be sure and admire the ceiling here!
The food had its ups and downs. We ordered a dozen wings, queso and chips, and ribs with okra and broccoli. Two refillable iced teas brought the tab to $55.34 plus a nice tip for good service. The ribs, with their rub leaning to the peppery side, were very good, and needed no help from either of the two sauces on the table. The broccoli was broccoli, but the fried okra was very well done and thoroughly enjoyed. We also liked the brisket queso, and intend to play around with this dish when we get home. Alas, the wings were dry and curiously lacking in flavor; it took generous dollops of the ranch dressing to redeem them.
So, a mixed bag, with the ribs and okra solid choices-- and don't forget to pay a visit to the well organized pickle bar!
